Great donuts spot that is my go-to place if I need a morning pick me up. I've bought a couple dozen so far for when I need to bring goodies for the client and they are always appreciated and enjoyed. Every once in a while they do a Mini donuts sale, a dozen for $9. The time I saw it was with a variety of jelly filled ones and it was perfect for the office. Tasty, but not too big and caloric. The service is also incredibly quick. I know that I can be in and out with two dozen donuts in less than five minutes. Once again, when rushing in the morning to pick up for the clients, is just perfect. This is true even when they are packed, which they usually are. They have a large amount of regulars from what I can tell. I want to stop by for one of their sandwiches when I have the time. read more

Man, I love this place. The donuts are affordable and are so good that even the simplest flavor, like a sugar glazed, tastes amazing because the batter itself is so delicious! I came here this Valentine's Day morning to buy a cronut for my husband. Im so awesome I know. The fatter he is...the skinnier I look ;) well that's an epic fail. I couldn't have just one bite so now we are both fat :( I bought a rocky road and Nutella cronut and a red velvet cronut. They packaged it up and threw in some donut holes. Not that we'd eat them but it was a cute touch to dress it up. Looks family owned. Good customer service. Accept Amex without attitude. Ample parking. I always go here for the croissants they are warm, delicate and filling! They have: Apple, Cream cheese, Strawberry, Blueberry, Pineapple, Chocolate Chip, Turkey & Cheese, Jalapeno & Cheese, Swiss, Spinach & Cheese, Baby Croissants and Butter Croissants baked fresh all day long! A super nice Vietnamese family owns this place. They are kind and very efficient. In the morning the small parking lot is crowded with pick up trucks from the many construction workers that stop every work day morning for their donuts and coffee. The smoothies, Bobas, coffees, teas, juices are great. Don't forget that they make fresh breakfast on a bagel, on a croissant or in a burrito. There's a reason that eight out of the eight reviews are giving Mama's Donuts 5-stars - they are AWESOME!! Well, it was 4pm when I got to Mama's and the display case was bursting with freshly made baked goods. Not expecting the sensory onslaught, and in a bit of a rush to beat the traffic to LA, I stayed with my standards - croissants, apple fritter (I have a rather "healthy" appetite when it comes to sweets...lol...), and a cup of coffee. First off, the coffee is EXCELLENT!! Not sure what brand they use, but it's REALLY good! Secondly, they serve two sizes of croissants - regular and minis. Mini-croissants can be found throughout MOST of Europe, so it was REALLY nice to see it done in the US. And, to have them so near is even better! I like my croissants somewhat fluffy, with the ends a tad bit crispy. Guess how Mama's makes theirs? GREAT croissants are served at Mama's!! Thirdly, the apple fritter was done EXTREMELY well. It wasn't overdone, like most donut shops. Instead, it had a nice glaze and the coloring was PERFECT!! Now, for the other topics: 1) The lady helping me was VERY nice 2) It's VERY clean inside and outside 3) The prices are average, and 4) Parking's atrocious - Mama's is in a corner strip mall with REALLY limited parking Care to guess where I'll be headed to whenever I have to go to the valley or LA? The people who work here are extremely nice and pleasant. The breakfast is DELICIOUS and CHEAP. I get the bacon egg, cheese, and ham breakfast burrito or bagel and it's always delish. Pretty small, saturday afternoon no one was there... but when I came last year around 9am it was packed. ------------------- THE GOODS ------------------- ~ ALMOND BEAR CLAW - I'm not a BEAR CLAW person but I figured I'd try one of their speciality donuts and I'd never seen this one before. It was REALLY, REALLY good. Downright amazing. A beer claw with cinammon inside which was tasty and slivered almonds on top of a glaze (maybe maple glaze? I forget) which was A+ quality. (5/5) ~ CHOCOLATE CHOCOLATE-CHIP POCKET - They have a similar one at K's Donut Emporium, which I love and compare this one against. It's a breaded dough square top with Chocolate Icing and Chocolate Chips with Chocolate filling inside. Not as good as K's but voters good nonetheless. (4/5) ~ CINNAMON ROLL - Wish I'd took a pic. They have 2 types, the standard dough+glaze one and the one I got which was lightly glazed, flakey and heavily doused in Cinnamon. Disappointing. (2/5) ~ ORANGE CREME CAKE DONUT - I had this at K's DONUT EMPORIUM in Sherman Oaks a coupla months ago and it was amazing there. Hadn't seen it anywhere since til yesterday and it wasn't nearly as good as K's. It was C+ at best. (2/5) ~ MINI CROSSIANTS - These were rock hard, not very flavorable but it WAS like 3pm. They were absolutely nasty. 5 for $1.00 (1/5) ---------------------- FINAL VERDICT ---------------------- (UPDATE 2014) So the first few times I came back in 2011/2012 I was disappointed with my choices. However in 2013/2014 it's gotten a lot better the few times I've came in. They not sell Cronuts which looked REEEEEALLY good and that I'll have to try next time I come. This place has top reviews and it's a block from my current apartment so I figured I'd try it. Got a glaZed non cream filled Cro-nut, a red velvet cake donut, and a basic Homer Simpson-esk white iced rainbow sprinkles plain cake donut. The Cro-nut was rubbery and very hard to bite into or tear at all. Possibly over cooked? I have never had a Cro-nut in general and have nothing to compare it to. The white iced had the correct flavor giving wise but the donut itself tasted old and was tough and spongy. The red velvet was strangely a five star. Fluffy and easy to eat, I wished I bought 3 of these instead of the earlier mentioned selection. Flavor wise it was spot on perfect to a classic red velvet. Total came to just shy of 5 dollars which meant that using my card had an auto tack on fee of 50 cents, not cool. Won't be back, sorry Mama. read more

Came here this morning to pick up some Cronuts for my people at work. The store is located in a shopping complex with ample parking. They accept credit cards which is a plus since most donut stores are cash only. The restaurant was clean despite the several people eating there. They have a wide selection of donuts, bear claws, cronuts and other breakfast items. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I bought one dozen cronuts and they gave me 2 for free. It was a BIG hit at work. The cronuts are so good and you can tell it was made fresh that morning. The taro cronut, tiramisu cronut and blueberry cronut were all hits. This is a must if you're ever craving something good that you'll regret eating at the end of the day. LoL! read more

Don't be fooled by the dilapidated strip mall surroundings... This modest looking donut shop is incredible. My husband used to work in the area, found this place and took me here one day. I get the same croissant melt with ham, cheese and jalepeno every time. The croissants are substantial, buttery, soft and flaky. It's also gigantic so that is more than enough as a full breakfast or lunch for me. The family that owns and runs this shop is wonderful and respectful. It's so sweet to see the whole family there with their son off to the side doing homework. The quality of all of their food and baked goods is excellent- and consistent.
