    Tiramisu french toast

Your bubble girl reviewer (peanut, tree nut, and seafood allergy) did not have an allergic reaction here. But always tell staff, so they are aware. Food came out very quick! My absolute favorite item I ate was the sausage. Incredibly juicy and very delicious. I wish we ordered more of it instead of the bacon, in my opinion. The fried chicken wasn't dry and was very crispy. The tiramisu french toast wasn't too sweet, but I also never add syrup. My favorite part about Idyllwild is that dogs are welcome almost everywhere, as long as they behave of course. So a stroller for the pups was great at all the restaurants, but there were a few just lying on the ground under the tables. It's nice that the tables are under some trees. I will definitely come back for breakfast again to try more!

The food was more than adequate - it is unfortunate that when the order was placed it was requested No Green bell Peppers no onions - double checked and still the order came wrong. We picked them out as best we could yet the green bell peppers permeated the eggs bummer. My waffle was hot and the eggs warm Beautiful outdoor setting - customer service though was lacking. - order the food at the counter, they do bring the food to you yet, when they do it is not with a smile or pleasantry. Other eateries in town have the; same pricing, seat you, take your order, delivery your food, and exchange pleasantries. That is the joy of going out to eat while vacationing. If I wanted to serve myself i could stay in my rental. Overall decent food just no friendly service, with a little attitude., Writing this bums me out

Nice interior and exterior seating. Came today for breakfast with a big group. They had a lot of food options. They cleaned tables quickly as guests left so not a lot of waiting. The inside was pretty cozy. To order, you go to the register. It was really easy to order. Got the 3 combo with eggs, bacon, hasbrowns and sourdough toast. The bacon was good and crispy and hash browns were good too. We also got that California breakfast burrito and that was DELICIOUS. I highly recommend the burrito and chilaquiles because they also looked sooooooo good. I asked somebody who had it and they said they were absolutely delicious.

$80 for 4 waffles and 2 coffees. Soooo expensive, wow. The coffee was also so bad. please do yourself a favor and buy coffee at a real coffee shop in town. The food was good though. Most of the food in this town has no flavor but this place actually was good besides the coffee and prices.

Stopped into Mama's Egg House while up in Idyllwild and absolutely loved it. The food was fresh, flavorful, and felt homemade in the best way. The portions were generous, everything came out hot, and you can tell they really take pride in their breakfast dishes. The service was warm and attentive, and the whole spot has that cozy, mountain-town vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer. It's the kind of place you can come for a relaxed morning, good coffee, and food that hits the spot. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Idyllwild.

I had the chile relleno omelette with home fries and it was amazing and a very large portion. The ranchero sauce was so good. My husband had the meat lovers breakfast which he shared with our dog. We sat outside and they put heaters on for us. It's a nice patio area. Service was fast too!

I loved the brunch! Servings are pretty big. Food and beverages are fresh. Wait time is just okay but if you are hungry, you may need to be extra patient. Bathroom wait line can be long as there is only one. Ambiance is perfect for a cozy, quaint, small town. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. I had a great time when we were here!

We visited Idyllwild for the first time Valentine's Day weekend and found ourselves at Mama's Egg House on Sunday morning. This is a very dog friendly city, and was happy to see other dogs on their patio. We were told by a worker there that we just pick a spot wherever we'd like to sit, and then order our food at the counter. They deliver it to your table once ready! Inside area is on the small side, not really any room for very big parties, I'd say 4 or less. Outside has much more room to work with. It was such a cute little restaurant... a mixture of new trendy meets traditional mom n' pop. This was around 9:30am and there were a pretty good amount of people there. Nearly the full inside was seated and outside maybe had 1/4 of their tables taken. We got lucky with a corner streetside table so our golden retriever could mingle with passerbyers. When I got to the cashier, I was greeted with a warm smile. I then ordered the birria chilaquilles and pancakes with sausage. We also got the horchata white Russian and michelada. It took maybe 5min for our drinks to come out, and 15min for food to come out. The Horchata white Russian was AMAZING. I dont know how to explain it other than a warm cozy feeling within an iced drink? Haha. Michelada was good. Our meals were both beautifully presented and tasted fresh. The birria was tender and the sausages were definitely homemade- they were outstanding. Definitely recommend trying this spot for breakfast on your trip! We are so happy we did.

Such a cute little eatery in Idyllwild! I had breakfast out on the little deck and it was a beautiful day with lots of umbrellas for shade. It seems to be a fast casual concept where you order at the counter. They do bring the food out to you. The menus could've used a cleaning, they look like they had seen better days, and they were definitely smudges of food on them. I got the huevos rancheros and it was delicious! Tons of flavor and just the right amount of spice in the sauce. I asked for the breakfast potatoes extra crispy and they didn't seem extra crispy, but they did taste really good. I also loved the big chunks of veggies and there was a nice serving of avocado as well. My food came out really fast and was piping hot. My fiancé got the three egg breakfast. Simple and tasty! The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. Coffee was above average for a breakfast spot, but not as good as a coffee shop. Also, no Wi-Fi available and in a town that has poor Internet service that is a bummer.

-Food was good -The outdoor ambiance was very nice. -Menu & QR code posted on the glass -Order inside & they will bring you your food (listen for your name) -They serve alcohol!! pricey, but nice while you wait and enjoy the outdoors -Line was long due to everyone and their moms were there for the snow (arrived at 11am on Sunday got our food at 12:28) I'm sure it's usually not this long of a wait. -Indoor & outdoor seating (heaters & umbrellas) -First come, first serve on the seating. while waiting, highly suggest looking out for a table to grab. -Pet friendly (outdoors) -Parking lot was small (we parked across the street) wasn't an issue at all just FYI -A little pricy for us 3 (2 adults 1 child) 2 beers, 1 bloody Mary, 1 OJ (freshly squeezed) 1 hot chocolate $120

Excellent breakfast spot! I ordered the 3-egg plate with bacon, toast, and fresh fruit, and it was perfect (believe it or not, I've seen other places mess this up). My fiancée had the huevos rancheros, and I stole a few bites--the sauce tasted homemade, with just the right amount of spice. The balance of flavor was ideal. Service was great--friendly staff and quick food delivery. The outdoor patio is serene and spacious, with lots of natural light and a relaxed vibe that makes it easy to enjoy your coffee and meal. We went around 9:45am on a Monday, and it wasn't crowded at all. The only downsides: the menus could definitely use a wipe-down, and there's no Wi-Fi, which is a little surprising for a mountain town that gets so much tourism. Overall, a great place to start the morning--I'd come back.

    Chile Verde Burrito

I came in with higher expectations and left feeling a little let down. The food itself was very good, but the overall vibe leaned much more toward a fast-food joint than the sit-down restaurant I thought it would be. Maybe that's the concept, but nothing I read or heard beforehand gave that impression. Our food came out incredibly fast--so fast that we barely had a chance to take a sip of our coffee. In hindsight, I wish I had ordered the coffees first to actually enjoy them alongside the meal. We just expected something paced more like a restaurant experience rather than quick-service dining. That said, the chili verde burrito was flavorful, though not piping hot, and their signature hot sauce was fantastic--definitely a highlight. The staff was friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. The atmosphere was a bit mixed: one side of the restaurant felt like a fast-food setup, while the other side had a much cozier, restaurant-like feel. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the experience didn't quite match what we anticipated.

Stopped for breakfast before on our way home. You look over a menu and order at the counter. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Our drink orders came out quick and soon after came our food. They are big portions so come hungry. A little on the pricey side for breakfast but worth the taste. Cute and cozy spot to feed your hunger. We left all very happy with full bellies.

It's a GOLD mine! The service and friendliness is second to none! Delightful. I was just gonna try a couple of à la carte breakfast items to save money, BUT I was quickly "flipped" to a full meal package (much to my chagrin) and with tax and tip over $21! Well, that's a little pricey for a senior on a budget. I hate to say this, but when I'm traveling on a highway (and there's almost no alternative) Denny's does this right with their "senior menu" offerings at half this price! And that's kind of a grand slam. I make the same mistake frequently and I'm not even a big fan of eggs, but I didn't have much choice other than the veggie burger. I decided on scrambled eggs with hashbrowns and the veggie sausage from MorningStar brand (which origin is rooted in the vegetarian friendly Seventh-day Adventist Church.) My side dish was a generous portion of sliced avocado, nicely plated. To me, this spot was kind of like a "SYSCO" food depot. (If you know what I mean). The standard fair for many cafés. But, the service is very warm, old school charm where everybody chats with you to make sure you're doing OK and comes by and taps your shoulder or gives you a little back rub in passing. Not Harvey Weinstein weird but rather kind, friendly, vibes. I was transported to the set of "Andy of Mayberry" just wondering when Aunt Bea was gonna bring out the apple pie! Next time I'll try a veggie burger because it's a comfortable spot and the people are so damn friendly! Wait a second, is that Floyd the Barber, Goober the Mechanic, Otis on a bender? Oh no, I have to run! I see Barney giving me a ticket! Shazam, Shazam!

We got lucky*) Server was amazing Food expediter was super nice Food was delicious Elegant, fine dining experience Music was my mountain playlist (and not too loud) View of mountains for me. View of architecture for my wife. PARKING: Parking can be difficult in the small lot, but there's parking along the street too. INSIDE: It was perfect weather. 68ºF at 6pm after a warm day. They have "indoor/patio" style seating which may be difficult for some to access by multiple steps. We were seated at the top, a table away from the music, along the window side. They have heat lamps - but temps were perfect (lots of people and hot food warmed everyone up). I wanted to walk around the restaurant. The tiered architecture is interesting. FOOD: High End Vegan! Yes - I'm guilty of wanting to give them 5 stars just looking at their vegan menu. (And omnivore selection) Yes - I appreciate the care that it takes to prepare a plate. BUT This food was just delicious by itself. Even in a cardboard box, this food would've been amazing. VEGAN "cheese" appetizer (great for 2-3 people) Nut cheese was warm and tangy. This is NOT just cashews and nooch in a blender. It is spiced with something that brings a little heat. *you will want to lick the bowl. PRO TIP: The welcome bread with ... oh shit.... WELCOME BREAD / Garlic Olive Oil This crusty bread served with microplaned garlic + olive oil is fantastic. Garlic Fiend? You're gonna love this. Not a fan of garlic? What's wrong with you?! I mean... just serve from the oil side. Save some bread for your vegan cheese.... VEGAN CHEESE (cont.) Order the gluten free bread (a little more like Uti's toasted dinner roll) with your vegan cheese app. Omnivores at your table will be surprised how well this vegan cheese and wine pair with each other. TROUT I think my wife got the trout. She loved it. Light and delicate. VEGAN KIMCHI TOFU I've had kimchi. I've had tofu. We all have. This was prepared on a bed of roasty veg that was a great match to the salty kimchi. I don't know if there was a marinade preparation (sesame paste?) with the tofu, or it was made locally, or both, but this firm tofu was excellent. Sweet. Nutty. Salty. Fresh tasting and filling. The vegan menu here isn't just an "alternate version" of an omnivore dish. It is its own thing. DESSERT MISTAKE = not getting it. We thought there would be dessert in town, but we got out late. Town had closed. MUSIC Tonight's music was a pair of musicians playing CS&N, Neil Young, Bob Seger... acoustic session: Guitar, Violin, Mandolin. Quiet & sentimental performance was a perfect accompaniment to a long hike day. THERE ARE 1-STAR REVIEWS of this place. They have their reasons. I've only been here once. But I experienced NONE of the things they've mentioned. Moreover, we experienced even better than what other 5-star reviews suggested. This is an elegant spot, framed by a perfect day in Idyllwild. If I come back to the town, I will want to try other restaurants, but I'll definitely come back here. Not *just* because of their vegan options, but definitely *for* their vegan options.

The cute charming look of this place and nice patio area was what caught our attention. When we arrived, there was two other party seated on the patio. As we had our pup with us, patio seating was what we were looking for. But when we checked in, the host put us on the opposite side where there was no one there. At first we thought since we had our pup, this maybe where they put everyone but that wasn't the case. We clearly could see everyone checking in and noticed loads of dogs. But they were seated at the main patio, which ended up full and loads of dogs. It felt like we were singled out the whole time but at this point, we were just like whatever. During the whole dining experience it was just us on that side until they sat another couple next to us. Everyone else was at the main patio. I'm sure when we left, they must have felt the same, left out. Clayton was our waiter which he was very sweet. Host did mentioned the specials when we got seated as well as Clayton. We asked about a a certain dish (fish and chips), which no one didn't quite know the answer to. Same as everyone else, they had to asked each other what kind of fish was being used. It was a little back and forth that we opted out on that dish. Started off with a cold beer. Drinks menu had pretty much everything as well. Food menu, it was a mixture of everything. Fresh baked bread was brought out which was quite tasty. Hot right out of the oven with butter. Something so simple but so tasty. We actually had a second helping of it which was very nice. For mains, the gnome dip. Their specialty sandwich with braised angus short rib, au jus, cheddar sauce with a hint of spice, on a house roll with fries. It was decent but nothing major to rave about. The short rib did have a lot of fat but whatever. Fries on the other hand were nice. And the Gnomies ramen. It's not your traditional ramen. Chefs secret broth with either angus short rib, grilled teriyaki chicken breast, shrimp or pork. First off, it's not ramen noodles that were used but thin spaghetti noodles. It served with carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, hard boil egg, mushrooms and garnished with cilantro and sesame seeds. I went with the angus short rib for the protein. First impression, it's pretty small. Then comes the taste test, the broth was quite salty. And then that's when I found out it was pasta noodles instead of ramen noodles. Not your traditional ramen but their special version I assume. Sometimes it's better to leave things the way they are... That dish was a miss for me. The restaurants itself is quite nice with the patio seating. It's covered with loads of umbrellas which is nice and charming. Right when you walk inside there's the bar area. Two dining sections, one to the right which people did utilized to cool off from outside. The left side was closed but layout was quite nice. Feels like a nice ski chalet with the fire place. Also for the size of the restaurant, there's only one restroom. Overall, the place is charming and cute. Nice patio but being seated away from everyone else did feel like we were singled out. Didn't want to say anything afterwards as we thought it was the section for pets until everyone else walking in with their pets were seated at the main patio with everyone else. Majority of the guest did prefer to be outside but some outed for indoor. Food, it was whatever. Nothing major to rave about. Ramen was a major disappointment but the fries were great. And the fresh baked bread, that was excellent. Service was nice with Clayton, sweet and constantly checking in on us. Everyone seemed a little lost when we asked about the fish and chips. They were asking one another ...lol.... It is a bit overpriced for what it is. It's charming but would we stop by again, I don't want to say it but maybe no. Who knows, maybe it'll be different.
