I like the outdoor patio for Mama's Steakhouse. Most of staff were friendly but some seem uninterested and bored. What was really really bad was the food. We got the meat lovers and the trio and they were lukewarm at best. Most of who was just plain cold. Obviously a lot of the Meat and other items were sitting in a Warmer. The English muffin was stale. The eggs look like they were made too soon as they were spongy and dried out. The maple syrup is a joke because it's clearly not But they want you to think it's real because it's in the maple syrup bottle. Trendy place next to the Red Kettle in town. Has more Mexican/vegetarian options if you're interested. Upon entering the premise, it was quite bustling and you need to order your food at the cash register, THEN find a table if you do not have anyone else to help save you a seat. Service was patient and great though when questions are asked or there needs to be assistance. I ordered the Huevos Ranchero. It was quite a bit portion, with more potatoes. Wished the potatoes had a bit more crunchy, fried ends, but it's alright. The sunny side up eggs were great with the mashed beans, fried tortilla(?), and sauce. 10/10 BEST CHORIZO I'VE EVER HAD!!! Period!! I eat chorizo burritos for breakfast often. At a Mexican restaurant, it's my go-to breakfast choice. Hands down, so savory and not overly greasy like chorizo can be. Portions all around were huge. Fresh squeezed OJ was on point. Coffee was tasty and they have drinks available in the fridge to buy but no fountain drinks. My only gripe is the annoying background sound of the Frontier Cable little building right next door to the outdoor patio. Background music would take that away instantly. Just a suggestion. Absolutely enjoyed my experience here! Went on a Saturday for a quick trip to Idyllwild and fell in love! They had a whole side menu with vegan options! I had the potato tacos dorados and they were absolutely delicious!! They were flavorful and it was a hearty portion! I was nervous that only having three wouldn't be enough, but it was more than enough! I couldn't finish them all. My date was also happened to really like his plate! Their service is okay the only thing we don't like is that it's not a sit down service. Great place for breakfast in Idyllwild. Lots of restaurants in town have space for outdoor dining, but this one is larger and more pleasant than most. Big deck with shade, and your dogs can hang out with you. Food is ordered inside at the counter and then they bring it out to you and you clear your own plates. I love that they have such good vegetarian/vegan options. There's a whole separate vegan menu with some very appealing looking options. I ordered the vegan burrito, and it was ENORMOUS. As long as you're modestly hungry, it was definitely enough food for two. I'm very sceptical of rice in burritos, but this one still had plenty of flavor. And look at that generous portion of avocado! Salsa was really spicy and flavorful as well. As for the vegan cheese, if I hadn't known it was vegan, I doubt I would have noticed. As an breakfast establishment, they tick a lot of boxes. Ample seating, clean accomodations, nice staff and a generally cozy atmosphere. The menu has an impressive selection and food came out quickly. As others noted, there's only one restroom which, while clean, mean there was occasionally a line. The food itself wasn't spectacular. I got the tiramisu french toast and it wasn't as good as expected. The French toast was good as was the marscipone but the "espresso", a single dry lady finger, and strawberries just didn't make mesh well. Would probably stick with their other french toast options. The potato's were mushy and flavorless. The bacon was better than I expected. The hash browns were average. Definitely worth a visit, but can't give them 5 stars for the food. read more

Saw plenty of people getting their food before us who sat after us? Went inside and asked a server to check on our order who went and looked at the order window and said oh it's here. I said I thought so. That was not a good start. The burger came with a fried egg which was over easy and runny. Not good. Besides that the food was OK and the outside patio was nice. This is like a mom and pop shop but with tourist prices. This place is a bit busy so do not come here if you are in a hurry. There is only one bathroom here, so try to take care of that before arrival. It is clean in the bathroom but it is the only one. I enjoyed my Pandoro cake French toast but felt like the price was way too high for 1 piece of bread. The staff here are very friendly and the decor is very natural. We came here for Sunday brunch and the food was absolutely delicious and fresh. You go up to the counter and order your food then once you've ordered, you can go and pick a table to sit down. Once you've seated yourself they will bring you your food they always have a line so be prepared to stand in line, they have plenty of outdoor seating and some indoor seating as well. So you order at a counter then seat yourself. They do bring your order to you. The breakfast food is okay. We were on a patio outside and that was nice. So this is a beware. When I placed the order for my husband and I (he was in the restroom) I couldn't pay because no purse. The young lady was very gracious and said I can pay later. Great. When she brought the payment device to our table our check was $32.60. The transaction completed and my husband said he had wanted to add a tip. The young lady said "oh I added my own tip". We were stunned into silence. We left because we had to be somewhere and when I received my charge card alert I was shocked to see she had given herself a $10.00 tip. Wow.
