The most wholesome restaurant ever! The food was crazy good and the service was spectacular. There was a bit of a wait (expected on a Sunday morning) but there were so many workers that were all working so hard customers were consistently in and out. We got the country fried steak, french toast, and biscuits and gravy and all were exceptional. Food came out quickly and the best part was it was SO CHEAP. The owner thanked us after taking our payment, even though he was busy taking phone orders and hosting (very respectable of him since you don't see that a lot nowadays). A 4.5 from me. Service was incredibly fast & the servers handled my crazy family with grace. Outstanding wait staff! Portions were excellent, my family left full and happy. The only thing that got marks was really the space. Parking is tight as well as the seating because the place is always packed full. I have driven past here multiple times & always see a crowd. From the check in to paying the bill this place is tops. You may have to wait but there is a reason for that. The food here was delicious and the service was on point. I had 2 eggs, rye toast, pancake, has browns and delicious sausage links. My coffee cup was never empty. We had six people and had to wait 20 minutes for a table glad everyone agreed to wait. This is your classic local old Tampa yummy spot. I will admit...When you walk in the place it has dingy walls and old furniture. But the staff is very friendly and the food is great! We are avoiding carbs and they were happy to accommodate. I am also allergic to pork and they accommodated for that as well. My eggs were cooked perfectly. The beef kielbasa was amazing. My husbands omelet was huge and he loved every bite! This place was filled with locals. The prices are great too! I have driven past this place on sundays and their is never a parking space left. Decided to stop in for some breakfast before going grocery shopping with my husband. Every breakfast place we went to had a at least a 30 min wait, then we stumbled upon this gem. Straight to the point breakfast, no frills. I had the corn beef hash meal and it was delish, it hit the spot. My husband and I split the french toast which was great. Portions are large, so unless you have a big appetite you'll definitely be able to split or take some home or to work. Also the food came out quickly which was a plus because I was starving from my morning run. Military peeps, its right up the street from one of the MacDill gates. Totally fine diner food served by slightly salty wait staff. This place has fairly typical diner food. Mostly breakfast food but also burgers and grilled sandwiches. I had a patty melt. It was a little underseasoned. It started out well, but the second half was soggy. I got it "Deluxe," which means it came with fries and Cole slaw. The cole slaw was generic cole slaw. The fries were crispy but unsalted. Maybe it is because I'm not a regular, but my service was lacking the typical small diner experience. No friendly waitress calling me honey. I found this Place on Yelp! after my wife and I left the Tax Collector's office getting the last vehicle registered. We both were in the mood for breakfast food and with over 300 pictures, this place seemed like a good choice. I was put off by the fact that the restrooms are outside and the overall appearance of the restaurant from the outside didn't seem very inviting to me. Still, we came in and were told to sit wherever we wanted and the server would come clean the table for us... never experienced that before. We both ordered the French toast, with bacon and sausage patties, respectively, home fries, scrambled eggs with cheese. I must say that the food was surprisingly REALLY good, although I wouldn't rate it as high as KeKe's and I'm not sure I'd pay as much as I pay when we eat at KeKe's again. The Arnold Palmer was great, not too sweet at all. The server never introduced herself and that's a pet peeve of mine. Also, I'm not comfortable eating at an establishment where the burly host hovers over you. All in all, I have to give them a C for their grade based overall upon aesthetics, food quality and service. By the way, the restrooms AREN'T in the restaurant, they're outside and as long as they're open, the restrooms are publicly accessible. It is so nice to have a diner in S Tampa. They seem to be disappearing from the landscape. I like a place where I can get a good breakfast anytime or liver and onions, served with real mashed potatoes and gravy. This is the kind of place where many customers are greeted by name and the servers have worked there for years. It's not fancy but you are going to be served homemade food. The atmosphere is as welcoming as the plates of good basic food that sale by your table. There are daily specials that will probably require a doggie bag as they come with homemade soup or salad and are very hearty. I saw a chicken pot pie today that made me wish I had ordered it.
