This past week we ordered delivery from MaMas Trattoria. Wish we would have made a different decision. We placed a call in order for delivery and all seemed well. Not too later we received a call about of out of stock items. Okay, that happens, we subbed and moved on. Then we get a different call saying they are out of cauliflower crust pizza. Okay, that happens, we decided on the gluten free crust pizza instead. We were informed that was the same crust pizza, though it was two separate menu items. Bummer, no gluten free items other than a salad, which we already had ordered. Fast forward to when the driver comes to deliver. First thing wrong with his interaction, he tried to charge us $60 more dollars and could not produce the recite. We called the restaurant to confirm the true cost of our items at $60 less than he was asking for. He also left the bottle of wine in his vehicle and we had to ask him not to forget it as he was leaving. He also tried to walk out with our pizza. Ok, so we shrugged this off and started to eat the items and the then a hair was found in the salad. Well, when we called the restaurant to inform them. The "owner" or top manager, Chris, pretended he owned the spot challenged the caller to come pick up the new salad and bring all his friends as he was challenging a physical altercation. During this challenge he called the caller a "Mother Fu#@er". Wow, no thank you. Call was ended there. Not too long after we were into our evening and Chris and at least one other person showed up in person at our house trying to challenge us again and brought a new salad we said we didn't want at this point. The attitude was take your salad not sorry you found hair in the food. We ran them out of our space and filed a police report. Chris, the delivery driver and whoever else was in Chris truck is a hazard to this business, themselves, and should not be in the hospitality business. read more

Probably the worst dining experience of my life. First off, vibes were just bad when we walked in. We weren't sure if we were supposed to order at the counter or get seated by a hostess. The workers clearly saw us trying to get their attention and pretended like we weren't standing there. Then we legit had to go up to the workers after almost an hour of waiting for our food (they weren't even that busy) for them to tell us they "just put our pizza in" and it would take "15 minutes". The pie comes 30 minutes later MISSING TWO SLICES. The worker just plopped the 3/4 pie and walked away without saying anything. We asked when she came back and her excuse was that they "flipped over" in the oven.. which doesn't make sense because why would you slice your pies before cooking them...?? Anyways. we never received our second pie and we had to go up and ask AGAIN. Turns out the pizza was ready but it was just sitting there. Both of our pies were a) cold and b) just not good at all (why was it dripping in oil..). Tried to talk to a worker about our experience and at first they legit tried to ignore us. In the end, we were able to get a refund for the pizzas but overall, a terrible dining experience. Super disappointed in the service and would never come back read more

Yow! What a joy for the remote, small Village of Hunter to have an authentic neopolitan pizza house. The large margherita sated two hungry men. The green salad had a nicely mixed balsamic vinegar and oil dressing. The modern interior was like being in a major metropolitan area. I only gave this two stars for it's the holiday and I'm being generous, tis the season for giving. Very disappointed with this pizza place, calling it a restaurant is a real stretch. It's obvious this place caters to tourist with their over priced items, and poor quality product. The industry calls such a "chew and screw" as in eat for you ordered, pay and never go back for the great disappointment. Almost $20 for a calzone that fits in the palm of your hand, an 18" pizza is $18! Seriously? Maybe if it was at least good or the last food bit of food on earth. Rude. When I asked about the sign inside the restaurant about 10 stamps and receiving a free small pizza, I was told it's only for locals. It wouldn't cost them anything to just give me a card, so what if I will never come 10 times? Of course after this experience, I won't be coming a second time, much less 9 more times. First off, an establishment in the year 2024 that only accepts cash just really irks me. You're a business. Sign up for Square, at the VERY least. I'm sorry that they're going to take 2-3% but that's the cost of doing business, and it's a basic convenience that customers post-1985 kinda expect. I walked in with the cash in my pocket but that wasn't quite enough for my $20 plain pie. Meaning ... I had to resort to their in-house ATM, which cost me $3 to $5 in bank fees, resulting in a pie that's now about $24 all-in. Guys, ditch the ATM and install a credit card reader. It will take up much less space in your restaurant AND customers can swipe the card they're already using at every OTHER restaurant. Secondly, they were short staffed, and I know this is a universal problem for some reason, but if that means the guy handling the CASH is also throwing pizza dough with those same unwashed hands, that's just gross. The pizza itself was ... unremarkable. Sorry to say, I don't think I'll be heading back here anytime soon. read more

I knew it looked off when I opened the box and there were random spices thrown on and absolutely no ricotta! Disgusting and we had to throw the whole pie away. Word to the owner: don't put an item on the menu you can't make and taste your menu before you serve it to customers. White pizza is a standard pie- mozzarella cheese and ricotta cheese. We went on an understandably busy Saturday night but service was beyond bad. We were told not to order food from the kitchen because it could take 30-60 minutes. Instead, we ordered 2 large pizzas (1 cheese, 1 pepperoni). Over an hour later and with 3 hungry young kids we still did not get our pizza. If we had known it would be over 1 hour we would have gotten slices. We ended up leaving due to the wait, with hungry kids in tow. The fact that we sat at the restaurant and saw many other people get their food was frustrating. glad this place exists it's a small hole in wall pizza parlor where I constantly send my husband to pickup a cheese pie for when my 3 yo wants to comfort eat (shamelessly scapegoating my son, I also love this pizza!) BuFFALO wings (kinda mild kinda hot) are SO good!!! But caveat they are like the drier style - which personally, I prefer... haven't tried the boneless kind bc I find these fun to eat, and my father loves them so that's now always part of our order. they make hot hero's too if you're just not in the mood for a pizza only dinner, I've ordered the chicken cutlet parmigiana hot hero (which I cut an extra slice into so everyone can have a bite) and the cheese pie reheats nicely in my toaster oven w just some sprinkles of water on the crust! The pictures looked amazing so we decided to stop by on the way back for a late lunch from hiking Kaaterskill falls. There wasn't a whole lot of seating but we occupied two tables between 7 of us. It was nice that there was seating outside (because you know... covid) We placed our order inside and waiting for our pies. They came out in decent time. One thing we may have done better is not get one with so many toppings. We had opted for two veggie pies and the slices were pretty weighted down and a little soggy. I think this is the type of pizza where less is more. Overall the flavors were good but the consistency/soggyness of the pizza left us a little bummed. The prices were pretty good for being in the middle of nowhere and it did somewhat hit the spot after a hike. They had a variety of beverages from juice/soda and alcohol. This was nice for all of the different age ranges that were partaking in the meal. I'd recommend it if you're in the area but remember to go light on the toppings for ultimate non sogginess. read more

I have been coming here as far back as the summer of 1969. YES - The Woodstock summer. Very decent people serving great italian food and doing so humbly. not like some places in the city. Funniest thing - I was working at the Villagio Italia that summer and preferred eating here! LLOLLL IMO, the other similar name pizzeria in Tannersville serves a slice which is great to use when you need skeet targets. Have to stop at that wood burned oven pizza in Phoenicia.
