It's always a joy to come to the West side for one of Doraku's special whiskey events. The food pairings are always tasty, and I never leave hungry. Service is always friendly and efficient (special shout-out to Brooke). They have great ambiance, with indoor seating, sushi bar seating, and outdoor seating, so there are options for everyone. Classic as well as creative menu choices make this a great option in Kapolei.

I booked a business luncheon here and was glad they saw my note. The online system only allowed for reservation parties of four, and we had five guests, which was easily accommodated with the comment box at booking. The table was ready upon arrival. The restaurant was clean and had a few tables already seated, no wait, however, the parking lot was pretty jammed. All of us were able to find spaces after circling a handful of times for a noon lunch. The service was excellent. Attentive and very friendly. No stranger to Doraku in town and Waikiki, it was nice to see they had a leeward location, so I had an idea of what I wanted, and we started with appetizers. A couple people went with the lunch specials, and the rest of us mixed it up, ordering a variety of items. Everyone was satisfied and some of us had leftovers to take home. I would recommend!

This place was highly recommended to us by my family. We needed somewhere to go for lunch. Not too far from the resort that we were staying at. I was excited to dine here, it looks like they get very busy. But the day we visited it wasn't too busy. The parking is a little scarce because it's located in a mini strip mall. We decided to get there right when it opened, the host at the front had asked us if we had a reservation. That 's when you know this place gets busy. We didn't, but they still accommodated us by seating us right away. There weren't too many patrons there...yet. We took a while to decide on what to eat. But our waitress was very nice and pointed out some recommendations. We ordered some beer, poke nachos and sashimi. The dishes we ordered were soo good! Literally tasted so fresh and buttery! We thoroughly enjoyed it all. This may not seem like a lot of food for us, but we didn't want to over do ourselves. We wanted to enjoy ourselves. Since we definitely do not have any place like this where we live. I would recommend this place as a must try! With great service and delicious food!! Thank you!

First time there for our Anniversary and Brooke was AWESOME and SUPER HELPFUL with our selections of ONO food which made our special night perfect!! Doraku Aburi Salmon is a definite repeat on next visit then that hamachi carpaccio was smooth melt in my mouth and that wagyu ribeye was "buttah!!" Thank you Doraku Kapolei for a perfect Anniversary Night!

Happy Hour review. Weekday 5pm-7pm Friendly staff, HH selection was okay, quick service. This location is decorated very Japanese decor, great booths and lots of seating for groups. Very cute and was not crowded at the start of HH. Happy hour menu isn't super big but I came on a solo date, so it was perfect for me to enjoy a few bites and a drink. Best part is it wasn't crowded, got seated immediately and service and food came quick. Would def come again for some bites.

Enjoyed dinner out at Doraku with friend from mainland. First time here a pleasantly surprised with the food, atmosphere and service. Ordered off the Happy Hour and regular menu. Every item arrived promptly and so Ono. Liked the modern Japanese decor and the vibe of the place. Even tried the sake, which was not what I expected. Gentler flavor not burning. Service was excellent, felt well taken care of.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. Everything seemed fine until I noticed there was a fly floating in my drink. It's hard to enjoy a meal or trust the cleanliness of a place after something like that happens. I informed the staff, but the situation wasn't handled in a way that made me feel valued as a customer. I didn't even receive an apology. Hygiene should be a top priority, and unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression. We won't be coming back.

We were looking for a Japanese restaurant and found this place through Yelp. It's located in a commercial center so parking is a bit hard and let you walk a short distance from your car. The place is very nice and they have a bar right off the entrance. We were seated at the back of the building next to the sushi carving station. I ordered the agadashi tofu and the wagyu loco moco. The loco moco came in a sizzling plate and they pour the gravy right in front of you. The meal is delicious. The tofu sweet and soft. We enjoyed our dinner and were not disappointed with our choice of Japanese food.

Came here to mainly try out their happy hour and it was a great way to try a variety of dishes and share them around the table. We also ordered a few of their happy hour drinks, which paired nicely with the food. Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive throughout the meal, which made the experience even better. We'll definitely be coming back again. I'd recommend making a reservation since they can get pretty busy. If you choose to do a walking in can sometimes be hit or miss.

Skip town and come to Kapolei restaurant and you don't have to pay for parking. I like to come when they open up or if you don't have to go back to work I highly suggest happy hour where their prices are significantly lower. When I'm waiting for my next dish I find myself looking at the stuff in the bar area to the decorations on the ceiling. Definitely a cool date spot with the booths for privacy and has big enough tables for a work luncheon. Service is always on point.

First time on this location and experience was great. We ordered so much food and drinks! Everything we ordered was so good. Not a single dish we had didn't disappoint us. I have to say the hot vegetables dishes was the best. I recommend the shishito peppers was perfect. Not spicy at all. And also the king oyster mushrooms and jumpin cauliflower was a must as well. I have to say sushi quality here is good. The service was great and the place is fairly new so it's nice. For sure recommend this place for good food and drinks.

    God of Fire Roll
    Travis C.

Great service and love the ambiance of this restaurant. It's even kid friendly and has tons of TVs to watch games on. Now let's get to the food.. First tried the God of Fire roll which is a spicy tuna roll with cucumbers and topped with jalapeño. Very good and tasty roll. Then I tried the chicken karaage. The crispy chicken is marinated in a sweet chili soy sauce and it's good tasty, moist and juicy. Some of the best chicken karaage I've had in a while. Now let's get down to two my two favorite dishes. The Waygu beef fried rice which is prepared table side on a super hot skillet with steak, eggs, veggies, garlic butter and chili ponzu sauce. This fried rice was banging!! I couldn't ate the whole plate myself but of course I shared with the family lol. Didn't want to but did lol... This went perfectly with the Wagyu Ribeye which is a 10oz wagyu grilled to perfection with garlic ponzu sauce. The steak and rice combo was outta this world. I was so happy eating these two things. Definitely recommend them both. The last highlight was the Honey Toast which is a Japanese white bread stuffed with banana and topped with honey, chocolate and whipped cream. It was very good but was too full from the real food lol. Kids loved the dessert. If you're ever looking for a good sushi spot then give this place a try.

The ambiance of the restaurant itself is so relaxing. We went before sunset and got to see the view during the day of the golf course and got to experience the night vibes as well. The menu has a lot to offer. Lots of categories with a variety of choices to cater to everyone's taste buds. Luckily went with a group of 5 so we got to try a bunch of different dishes. For appetizers- the tuna toast is a must! It's a perfect bite of poke with a nice crunch from the toast! I could eat 10 of these! The Brussel sprouts was also a favorite appetizer with its maple soy glaze and parm! If you don't like brussel sprouts- you might actually like this! lol The flavoring on the corn was great, but I wished it wasn't on the cob because it's messy to eat. The shrimp in the ebi katsu were huge, crunchy and not oily! The batter was a little thick but was proportionate to the shrimp size. The pork katsu was sooo delicious and tender. One of my favorite of the night. The wafu steak was also good - a little bit well done but the flavors were there. The miso black cod was also my favorite - soft and buttery with great flavor. The carrot puree under the cod was also surprisingly delicious and light. For dessert- the sweet potato crème brûlée is the popular dessert and it was pretty good. Not my favorite but good to try. I wonder if Okinawan sweet potato would be a better dessert the shave ice was a huge portion and the 5 of us almost didn't finish it ! The staff did give my parents a special treat for the celebration- it was like a yuzu custard with a crumble on top. THAT WAS BOMB, easily everyone's favorite dessert of the night! We were asked if we'd be having the AYCE Sushi or regular menu, we opted for regular. Kapolei boat was plenty for the 3 of us. Good assortment of sashimi & sushi. Would be nice if they'd let you customize the 2 sushi rolls that are also included. Water was refilled without hunting anyone down. Check was brought to us before we had the option to order dessert. Clean location, ample parking, plenty of seating. A few loud groups but nothing crazy.

The AYCE here is very lackluster. I'm going to keep this plain and simple. This is a place that you…read morecan avoid. You can't order a lot (in order to get another 3 items, you have to wait until your entire order comes; they take forever), the taste of the food is mid and they take awhile to bring you food, hoping you'll get full. They charge you for any waste. They give you a ton of rice and very little fish as you can see from the Hamachi Nigiri. Very disappointed. It felt like I was getting robbed. You think you're getting a good deal by going AYCE, but don't let the Ala carte pictures fool you. The quality and what you get is TOTALLY different in the AYCE. They cut corners and give you what appears to be the leftover pieces for the AYCE. They specifically have a policy on wasted rice to be charged at $35/lbs. Makes sense cuz they put so much extra rice to make you extra full. Just fyi, that's 2 people's orders. When they say 3 limit order per person, they mean, 3 pieces of nigiri. I've never been to an AYCE that was so stingy.
