This place was recommended to me by a local and I was intrigued by Honduran food. Needless to say it did not disappoint at all. They had a deal on margaritas when I was there and it was tasty! I ordered the family sampler as my meal and everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The canoa and pupusa were my favorite in the platter, and everything was so good. The decor on the inside of the restaurant is cute and the service was excellent!

This was my first time visiting Mami Monchita's, despite living in the area for almost 2 years. Everyone gives this restaurant raving reviews, and I am disappointed it took me this long to make it out there! Our server was a doll. She was sweet, helpful, and friendly. She answered every question we had without frustration, and recommended delicious items. We dined on the patio which offered a cool, relaxed, and lighthearted ambiance. Bonus- we got a table fan to keep bugs away! That's really going above and beyond. The food was delicious- I HIGHLY recommend the cheese papusas. My only qualm is everything was a bit lacking in seasoning, for my liking, and salt was not readily available. We will be back, and are excited to try more dishes!

UPDATE 09/14/2024 After ordering via delivery years ago, we finally made it here in person! It was a nice evening and the patio was inviting. We started with a peach sangria which was cold and delicious. Next we shared the anafres, a refried bean fondue with chorizo and flour tortilla chips. It was delicious. The family platter appetizer was recommended by Maggie, one of the employees, as a way to taste several dishes in one order which was an excellent suggestion! We split each item in the sampler and each of us was satisfied with the amount of food included. I wanted to try a plantain dessert so we split the empanadas de platano with vanilla ice cream, which is quite tasty. We enjoyed all of the dishes, and I want to return for both the seafood soup, and fish tacos!

We visited on a rainy day for lunch. This is a cozy restaurant tucked away on a residential street. We were greeted by friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant serves traditional Honduran cuisine and also gives a percentage of their earnings to a project in Honduras that helps feed and educate children. Everything on the menu looked wonderful. I had the papusa lunch platter ( think delicious fried corn bread with savory filling (either meat or cheese or one of each). I chose guisado beans ( pink seasoned beans)and casimento (black beans with rice and coconut milk) as sides. The platter also came with delicious pickled onions and shredded cabbage. My husband chose revuelto hondureno a chicken and rice dish with beans and vegetables. Everything was delicious! Portions are generous and the food was freshly prepared. We finished the meal with Honduran coffee and shared a flan. This was our first visit here (on a recommendation from a friend). We look forward to visiting the restaurant again and trying out the dinner and cocktail menus!

A unique offering of Honduras food, something that you do not find in Kentucky. We found that fish tacos and plantains amazing to say the least. A very reflexed and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is unique and the service was efficient and very friendly. Beer is served in a frost frozen mud and the appetizer can in a heated clay pot. A great and unique place, we will be back.

Perfecto...eaten here several times and it never disappoints...food, service and setting are great and maybe the best location to eat in Frankfort...not to mention the price is right!!!

This was the first time I'd had Honduran food - very good! My enchiladas would be called tostadas in Mexican food - crisp tortillas topped generously with chicken (or beef), shredded cabbage, and cheese. The combo plate adds two sides. Mami's nachos were also good - crispy tortilla chips with chicken, beans, cheese, and jalapeños. Overall it's a pleasant, medium-sized location with an attractive exterior. A nice change of pace.

As a local, this is one of Frankfort's best restaurants. Authentic Honduran food with friendly service and incredible drinks. So many food suggestions! Their guacamole with fried plantains is wonderful and a must try! The sampler is a great way to try several different items and the papusas! Wow!

Our favorite go-to restaurant in Frankfort. We've never had a bad meal or service out of the countless times we've been. I'd highly recommend the Maggie Margarita and Tipico Bowl to anyone wanting to try!

We rolled into town hungry and a bit later in the evening. Thanks to Google we found this gem of a spot that was hit for the adults and kids. I'm pretty certain this was our first Honduran food experience as a family which made it extra fun. The staff were all super friendly and helped us with some great menu choices. The restaurant had a nice layout and great atmosphere. There was some live music on as we arrived as well. Everything we ordered was delicious with the Yuca starter for the win!

Don't care for the food. Not much for vegetarians. I don't understand why they are so busy, but tastes vary, I suppose.
