You HAVE to try this food cart! My husband and I are on our honeymoon and I saw this place on Yelp and HAD to go since my mom always makes empanadas. I went with bean and cheese empanadas and I LOVED it! My husband tried two empanadas 1 chicken & 1 beef as well as a Cubano sandwich! He said it was all AMAZING with tons of flavor! Very authentic. We also were able to try 4 different homemade sauces all of which were delicious and we mixed a bunch of them together. This tiny boutique food truck had the best food I've had during my entire one week stay in oahu. Chef Alex is legit the man. He runs the entire operation himself and truly puts forth his best effort in everything he makes. I had to come back multiple times to enjoy delicious, delicious food created here. LOVE mami's empanadas I've gone several times! A tad bit pricey but well worth it! I love their empanadas and all the sauces you get, it really changes the flavors! The owner is a very kind and will recommend which combinations taste best for what you're ordering. It is a bit if of a wait but it's fresh every time and well worth it. I've also ordered the Cubano, which is just okay.. I've also tried their tamales and is was delicious and very filling. They have a sweet drink that they make that's supposed to be healthy and is also super tasty I highly recommend it!! Excellent service, unreliable hours, good food. The Chef here is super friendly and often throws in different items to allow you to sample various things on the menu. You can preorder via call or text at the number listed for the business which is a huge plus. Parking can be an issue but it is worth getting food which is truly unique here on the islands. I had six Colombian beef and 6 chicken. My only cred is I have traveled thoughout southern Argentina, Columbia and Panama and I love empanadas. It is the quick to carry meat dish many cultures have and Alex got these two perfect. Mix the mild ones with the green and white sauce, as he suggests, and let it break you mouth. read more

Delicious empanadas! The fillings were hot and flavorful (tried chicken, beef, cheeseburger, pineapple, and guava) plus the breading/crust was a great texture and not too greasy. My favorite flavor empanada was the bacon cheeseburger and also the spicy green sauce! (Also it was easy to find the truck currently near the Queen Kapiolani hotel). These guys are awesome, I've only met two of the chefs so far, Alex and his partner. It's a little nondescript shack across from Office Depot. Parking is either street parking or you could park at Office Depot (at your own risk). Love the food, empanadas are to die for and the cubano sandwich is classic. Soooo tasty. Tried to get them the other day but they were closed, got lucky today. I had two chicken, one carne (beef) and one potato empanada to make up the 4 for $10. Love spicy so got that sauce as well as the regular sauce and ate there. Took a few minutes to cook (10-15?) which is no problem - fresh is great. I ate there, next time would probably get to go as they were so hot that walking them a few minutes to the beach would let them cool slightly without ruining them. Delicious! I found this food truck on yelp, and had to try it out. My husband and I love empanadas. We got the bacon cheeseburger, cheese lovers, sofrito chicken, and the beef and potato. The bacon cheeseburger and the cheese lover were amazing! I could have done without the other 2, and just double downed on the cheeseburger and cheese. The chicken is was a little dry, and the beef and potato had an interesting consistency. All 4 had a nice crispy outside and the green spicy sauce was the best! read more
