My girl wasn't feeling so hot so we didn't want to venture off too far for dinner the other night. Looking at different options, we settled to give Mamma Mia of Boynton a shot! Going inside, the place was pretty packed and we were seated swiftly. The menu was pretty lengthy which tbh was a little overwhelming, but we finally managed to find something to order. For dinner we ordered 1x eggplant spinach rollatini with split pea soup and a caesar salad, and a 1x cheese ravioli with a breaded chicken cutlet also with split pea soup and a house salad. Moving on with my review; not gourmet by any means, but the food last night was palatable and great value given the cost too. For starters; all the apps that came out were solid! The garlic rolls were hot, had a crusty exterior, and plenty of that garlic butter to soak it up. Messy presentation, but the split pea soup had a rich, creamy, and smokey pea base; very tasty! The caesar salad had that creamy, tangy, and garlickly punch! Also, croutons tasted homemade. As for the entrees; the Eggplant Rollatini had the right flavors; solid amount of seasoned ricotta, spinach, cheese, but sauce was cold. The cheese ravioli I don't believe was homemade, but it tasted alright. Sauce wasn't very hot, but chicken cutlet tasted fresh! Moreover, despite my criticism above; the service was on point. Overall, It was again an enjoyable experience and would give Mamma Mia Boynton 4/5 stars. read more

I've been coming here for many years, and it's easy to see why this family-owned and operated restaurant has been around since 1983. They're busy year round, and during season the wait can easily be over an hour, so I avoid going then. But the food is always good, portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, so clearly people are willing to wait. They offer a year-round Sunset Menu, which saves you a few dollars and includes either a soda or iced tea. You do need to be seated by 5:30 to take advantage of it. Dinners include soup AND salad and your choice of plain or garlic rolls. I usually take my soup home for another meal, as it's a lot of food. On my last visit, I had the chicken & eggplant parmesan combo, and it was excellent. It came with a side of spaghetti which I added some extra sauce. Both the soup and salad were very good. Portions in general are quite large, and I had enough leftovers for two more days. My girlfriend and I shared a large piece of almond cake that was really good. I'm always happy to support family-owned and operated businesses, especially ones that have been serving the community for so many years. I met a girlfriend here for dinner. We were able to just make the early bird for which you needed to be seated by 5:30 pm. The restaurant is very popular. I was told that in season, it's very hard to get in. It's located on the northeast corner of Military and Woolbright. There's ample parking in the shopping center lot out front. The "sunset menu" includes soup and salad, your entree, and a drink. Garlic or regular rolls, too. Non pasta entrees also include a pasta. The rolls were very good. Obviously freshly made. We got plain ones, but most folks got the garlic ones. We started with house salads -- but without onions. The salads were large. We had our choice of dressings. We both got our soups to go. One minestrone and one pasta fagioli. For entrees, she chose the combo chicken and eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti. I had their chicken Francese (3 medallions!) with angel hair pasta with the same Francese sauce. The portions were huge! We both don't have to cook for a couple days as we took leftovers home. Because it sounded intriguing, we shared their almond cake. This was light and airy similar to tiramisu, but with almond flavoring. It was delicious -- even though we were stuffed!! I've never had shrimp francese before. Have never even seen it on a menu! The shrimp were large, tender and delicious!! The sauce lemony and came with a side of penne. I would order this again and again! Everything they serve is heavy on the garlic so be prepared. As you can see on the rolls and the broccoli rabe If you're not a fan ask for less or none I'm from NJ so the rolls were not North Jersey bread I've had much better Everything else delicious! The prices are a little steep but if you factor in all of the food that you're getting (garlic knots, salad, soup, and the entree) it almost makes it worth it. We were visiting our friends in Boynton to see their new home. They made a reservation at Mamma Mia for dinner. When we got there the place was packed , inside and out! We waited a bit and were seated at a table by the window. We were quickly greeted by our waiter, David, and he promised he'd be back quickly and he was! We ordered a couple of beers and waters which were quickly delivered and then we placed our orders. Shortly after the brought over their hot garlic rolls, so good! Our friends ordered a chicken parm entree and a linguini with clam sauce. My husband and I decided to share a veal parm entree. The entrees all come with salad (Caeser or house) , choice of soup ,and a side of pasta. They do have a sharing charge of $10 BUT it includes an additional salad, soup and pasta! So smart! The pasta fasioli soup was hot and delicious, the house and Caesar salad was fresh and cold and a generous portion.The entrees were all huge . Our friends took a large amount of leftovers home and the veal parm portion for one was definitely more than enough for 2 people to share. The prices are a little high compared to Westchester NY standards, but you're getting alot for the money! And in Westchester it's soup OR salad, not both. And this was my first time trying the dessert which was nice. For $8 it can feed more than one person. Unfortunately for Mamma Mia, despite having been a few times in the past, and never having had a bad experience, the first time I chose to visit in person was after I became a Yelper. The service was slow, took over 8 minutes (yup, I do time them...) from the time we sat down until someone came to ask for our drink order. We ordered, then realized too late that our order contained allergens, asked the server to correct, she said they couldn't. Asked if we could get X instead and were told nope, this is the way we make it. So... we cancelled the order, and asked to pay for the soup and salad we were working on, told we could not cancel it was already sent to kitchen, finally got a manager to help, turns out server had never even asked for the order cancellation. Only been in Boynton for a few months but have eaten here 3 times and have given several clients gift cards to experience it. Tried Agliolio and it was good but didn't measure up to this. Have pizza at 6 different places in Boynton/Delray/Boca and the pie here is as a strong contender for best. My last group was 6 and we all had different entrees and all were impressive. Entrees come with soup and salad and portions are generous so plan ahead for the togo box so you can save room for desert. Service was excellent. Not a big place so it can seem a little cramped and loud when busy but you won't care once the food starts hitting the table. Prices are more than reasonable for the freshness, flavor and portion sizes. Location in a strip mall provides plenty of easy parking. Several more Italian spots on my must do list so I will see how they continue to stack up. read more
