Avellino's offers that family business vibe in a modern bright space. They have a good number of offerings that should satisfy anyone, and specials that change over time. The service was fantastic from the hostess to our waitress everyone was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to not only have you there but that they were also working in a positive environment. You can't help but smile! Many meals come with a cup of soup or salad and the soup is nicely portioned and tasted fantastic. The garlic rolls were excellent and while they were heavy on the butter and garlic the flavors balanced out without feeling too greasy and had a nice crispness to the outside as they were freshly baked. Meals were also great portions. I will note the sauce felt lacking, but this may have been due to it being better to underseason. But it did mean it felt like it had no personality. The pasta definitely seems like the standard boxed top but other ingredients, like meatball, sausage, veal, were fantastic. I was really impressed with how the sausage was sweet and well prepared with that classic split look and a solid crunch. We did not have room for dessert. I'd be curious to return and see how that menu is. Overall, if you're looking for a local Italian spot this should satisfy your craving! read more

Arrived a bit after noon and there was a good crowd there. It is self seating so grabbed a booth. A pleasant waiter took the drinks order and came back promptly to take our food order. Food arrived quickly. The slice and side were just average but was not satisfied so decided to split an eggplant parm sub. Again the pleasant waiter arrived quickly with the sub already cut and with an extra plate- he is good at his job. However the sub was disappointing- frankly it had a mild soapy taste - not very appealing. We felt like pizza, so we tried Avellino's Italian restaurant. We started with a calamari appetizer with marinara sauce, the marinara was excellent but the calamari were chewy in garlic butter??? We ordered a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms and black kalamata olives. The problem is that the olives were very salty, so the pizza was very salty, and the pepperoni didn't help! The pizza crust was good. The ambiance is that there's no ambiance, it's like a cafeteria, bright lights and cold. The prices are reasonable. It's more like an Italian American restaurant than an authentic Italian restaurant. The lady who was our server was professional and efficient. Avellino is in the campania region of southern Italy, east of Naples, a beautiful place! The food was Good, the service was excellent and the ambiance was clean and pleasing. We were a party of 4 single friends and there was No problem to accommodate separate checks. I had Chicken Parm, one friend had Lasagna, one had chicken piccata and the last friend had shrimp marinara. Everyone was happy with their meal and we will be returning. This place is Awesome! Their menu items cover the gamut of what you might be in the mood for when eating Italian food, with relatively fair pricing, with nothing really expensive as considering the size and quality of the food served The kids menu, includes lasagna, stuffed shells or baked ziti for $8. I only tried the margarita pie... And I got to tell you it's one of the best ever tasted in Palm Beach and Broward County. I'm not kidding the sauce to fresh mozzarella ratio was perfect... The bottom was thin and crispy.... Even the taste of the dough was quality stuff. A must-have. Come to think of it this place is a definite Come Back Spot.... I finally made it to Avellinos. I can't believe they've been there for five year, and I never ever ate there...After reading most of the positive reviews on Nextdoor. I decided to try it. There was nothing on the menu that was not excellent. Everything we had was so delicious. I had the salmon and my husband had the.Pappardelle. There was so much food after I had most of the soup. Avellino's. They have been in business for about three years -- prior to that, they were Guido's, and before that, something else. Went for lunch with a few pizza enthusiasts. A good local pizza place in Delray serving a predominantly elderly crowd -- if they aren't eating at 3G's, they are here with walkers and their nurse's aides. Not a destination pizza joint by any means, but if you live locally, it is a decent NY-style pie; I'd compare it favorably to a place like Pasquale's in Coral Springs. Craig and I agreed the meatball and sausage topped pie was better flavor-wise than the plain as the extra fat and salt gave it a boost, although the plain was better cooked through. The cheese was slightly greasy, but that's not a negative in my view; that's a stylistic choice of NY pizza. The service is abysmally slow and inattentive (30 minutes before they took our order, 30 minutes for appetizers and pies to come out) so you'd better not be hangry or in a rush -- and the place was mostly empty. If I were not with others, we would have walked out after the first half hour of inattentive service and nothing showing up. So the pizza was decent, but my guess this place gets most of its business as takeout. They have a $13 plain pie deal on Wednesday only for takeout and similar deals the rest of the week. Technical execution overall on crust was good; it could have used more fermentation. The sweetness on the sauce (light saucing) was good, but I would have liked more acidity. A 5 out of 8 on the Worstpizza.com scale. I didn't love the eggplant rollatini; the meatballs were decent. Fried mozzarella sticks (rubbery, Sysco variety, meh) and fried ravioli clearly were a product, pink sauce was ok. read more
