I haven't written a review about Villa Rosano in a few years so I thought I would jump back in the water. This place is our go-to Italian restaurant. Frank has owned this restaurant for a long time. He and Gabe, the manager, make everybody feel at home. He oftentimes comes by your table and will even sit to chat if you are so inclined. The food is outstanding. I usually have the veal or shrimp parm, but last night had the Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad. It was terrific and the portion was huge. My wife had a different salad which she thoroughly enjoyed. My kids had their usual: chicken parm for the big brother and penne with butter for the little brother. They both love this place. We had dinner with another family. Their daughter had pizza which she loved. My friend also had the chicken parm and his wife had a salad. The wait staff is extremely attentive and will make you feel like a regular even if it is your first time there. When you go, tell Frank I sent you. read more

I ordered a Belvedere martini, and it was absolutely not Belvedere -- it tasted like cheap vodka. When you're paying for a premium liquor, you expect to receive exactly that, not a substitute. The food was just as disappointing. It came out ice cold, and the piccata sauce was all butter to the point where it overpowered the entire dish instead of complementing it. To make matters worse, the staff was extremely rude and completely unaccommodating when we brought these issues to their attention. There was no effort to resolve the situation or even acknowledge the concerns in a professional manner. On top of everything, there were flies hovering around the glasses by the bar, which is unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint. Overall, a very disappointing experience from start to finish. We went to dinner at Villa Rosano with some friends based on positive recommendations. Bottom line: While the atmosphere is pleasant, the food and service were inconsistent. One person in our group ordered the Caesar salad with a side of anchovies. It was also accompanied by a bowl of shaved parmesan cheese. He enjoyed the large salad and the anchovies. He also thoroughly enjoyed the Rigatoni di Casa, which included sausage and rapini greens in a garlic and olive oil sauce. I had the chicken marsala. It was a nice portion and contained an abundance of tasty mushrooms, but the marsala sauce was thin and there was not enough of it on the dish. My wife and a friend each ordered the chicken parmesan. They were both disappointed as the chicken was too dry. And the pieces of chicken were stacked on top of each other so the bottom piece had no sauce or cheese at all. Our friend enjoyed her vegetable medley as the veggies were nicely sauteed. My wife requested her pasta to be well drained so it wasn't sitting in a pool of water. The server misunderstood and delivered a side of pasta without any sauce on it. The pasta was lukewarm. When the server brought the missing sauce, it was not very hot either. The bread was fresh and tasty. A bottle of olive oil was on the table for use with the bread. It would have been better if the oil had some seasonings. We added the parm cheese from the Caesar salad to create a nice mix for dipping the bread. Good thing our friend had ordered that salad. The server was pleasant and generally attentive, but we had to request refills on our waters from a passing server rather than having the refills arrive unprompted. Overall, the meal was okay but we're not rushing back as we will continue to explore other options for Italian dinners. read more

Celebrated a birthday dinner at Villa Rosano recently with a big group -- over 20 women! They definitely had their hands full, but did their best to make it all run smoothly. My friend and I split the chicken francese, which was delicious! The kitchen brought out a variety of dishes --from shrimp and salad to chicken and more -- so everyone had something to enjoy. This was no an easy task! One thing I appreciated: they let us bring our own cake, which was a great personal touch for the celebration. Service-wise, it's not easy to handle a party that large, but they made it work. They even organized separate checks for every 5 people, which was super helpful when it came time to pay. Overall, a nice spot for a group dinner with a warm, classic Italian vibe. read more

We have enjoyed lunch here twice, so far and are very happy. They offer lunch specials Mon-Sat for $13, including bread, Entree and soft drink. You can opt for a glass of house wine or house cocktail for only $6 if you so desire. The service is fast and friendly and you dont feel rushed. Servings are large and I wound up taking part of my delicious Eggplant parmesan with spaghetti home.. The interior is beautiful and has comfortable seating. With large booths and tables. The bar has seating available as well. Located in the Publix plaza, behind Ben's, with plenty of parking, although it may be a challenge in this popular center. read more

There is Rude Them there is the Hostess and front door staff at this restaurant. 5 booths were free but they were all " reserved" I know that was not true. We were planning on having lunch at the sushi restaurant in the same plaza, but found they were closed when we got to their door. So we walked a few stores down to this place. I'm really glad we did. They had a number of inexpensive lunch specials along with very good food and service to match. We were immediately greeted and seated on entering. As we looked over the menu, they brought out freshly baked hot rolls, a dish of grated parmesan cheese and some oil and balsamic vinegar. Our drinks came out pdq. We both ordered from the lunch specials menu. I chose their chicken marsala, and he chose the eggplant parmesan. Both plates were quite large. He really liked his eggplant which was served over spaghetti. He ate half and took the other half home for another meal later. My chicken marsala was not a large portion of chicken but it was covered with lots of mushrooms. The brown sauce was absolutely delicious. On the plate were also some fresh carrots and green beans. They were done al dente and very very good as well. I did not leave a crumb. The lunch specials are only $13 and include a complimentary beverage of iced tea, coffee, or soda. This is a bargain price. And considering how good the food and the service was, I can understand why they were so busy. I'd definitely come back here if in the area. read more

I have a medical alert service dog, I went to this establishment to pick up my dinner after a long day at work and was greeted by the owner of the establishment stopping me in the front doorway to tell me my service dog is not a service dog. He did not ask me is this a service dog he just told me it is not and when I proceeded to explain to him that he is my medical alert service dog. He then told me he's allowed to ask me what my medical condition is, which I proceeded to tell him because I would like to pick up my food. After picking up my order I called back to speak with the owner and inform him that it was unprofessional to not even ask me if my obviously trained dog is a service dog. I find it discriminating to look at me as a young person and tell me that it's not a service dog. I was calling to let him know that my service dog did not need to be vested under the ADA, but he proceeded to say that he had witnesses of our conversation and that's not what he said. He then proceeded to hang up on me after saying I need to learn how to respect other people. I was honestly just shocked by the way I was greeted at the door vs the other people standing next to me. I do find it quite disrespectful to start questioning my medical condition in front of other customers when I have never even been to your establishment before this. I want to also add my service dog was staring at me in a heel and was not disrupting anyone else's space. Nor was he even sniffing the air of the food. Horrible owner of an establishment and I hope one day someone cares enough to really make a stink because that's not how you treat a paying customer. The owner is very clearly uneducated in the ADA laws and service dog rights so if you have a service animal, stay away from this place... also my chicken Caesar salad was 22 dollar for a few pieces of burnt chicken wrapped in tin foil and some nasty dressing. Pam, our server was AWFUL! We are regulars and love the longtime servers. Our first interaction with Pam was one of the worst we've ever experienced at any restaurant. She was abrupt, rude, dismissive and tried to add items to our bill that we were never told about. For example , we order our same favorite dishes every time at VR and this time it was 25 dollars over the usual bill. When we said something, she corrected it, but rudely and just dropped our check on the table. The food was delicious, but Pam made the experience so bad, we are hard pressed to want to go back to VR. read more

Decent food, nasty owner, chaotic service. The owner, Frankie, is the one of the rudest people I have ever met. We took our elderly parents to dinner, and an hour and 15 minutes after we were seated, we still did not have our entrées. Frankie, the owner, came to our table and told us that the order was lost in the kitchen. When my husband said it had been an hour since we ordered, instead of apologizing, Frankie came back and to tell us that we were wrong about the time that we ordered, through the order receipt at my husband and walked away. Last night my party had a less than stellar experience which was probably our own fault. It was a fatal mistake to book a 7:00 PM reservation for a party of six on a Friday night. The place was packed. We arrived on time but it took 30 minute before a table large enough for six people was available. No obvious place to sit while you are waiting. We found a window ledge. One star off for the wait. Once seated seated service was reasonably efficient despite the crowded atmosphere. As usual, portions are large, the noise level loud, and he dishes generally well prepared. For the future we will only return with a party of 2 or 4 at prime time. read more

We just moved to the area and after a day of painting and cleaning we decided to give this place a try. Nice ambiance...Frank Sinatra playing on the radio...lots of staff. We ordered the sausage and broccoli rabe appetizer, the Tagliatele pasta, and the cavatappi pasta-everything was delish! They give you bread with oil and delicious grated cheese. Service was fantastic and friendly. The only little turnoff I had was that the busser kept asking us if she could clear our plates even though we were still eating. It happened three times...It wasn't crowded so I don't think they were trying to turn the table...it was annoying. Other than that, we had a great meal and look forward to many more. read more

It is quite obvious that this place has many regular customers. I would describe the menu as standard Italian fare and did not include many specialties from the Chef's region of Abruzzo where my ancestors are from. Hence, I tend to be very critical of Italian food The wait staff was efficient and very pleasant and accommodating. The other 3 dinners loved their cocktails and I enjoyed my vino rosso. Generous pour. The rice ball appetizers were tiny and average. Very solid reviews for the Shrimp franchese and chicken marsala. My pork chop was cooked a bit beyond medium and not very tender. It was flavorful and came with a generous portion of mixed vegetables. All in all this is a solid restaurant that obviously pleases the palates of its many regulars. read more

My husband and I just moved from NY to Boca and Villa Rosano came highly recommended. We went to dinner on Saturday, August 17, 2024. When you first walk in, you are greeted by two very young girls that seemed to want to be anywhere else but there! No smiles, no greeting and very rude. Only high tables were available, not a big deal, didn't make a reservation. I glance over at the bar and there's an extremely young male (maybe 16) rolling his eyes and yawning and I could hear him say to his co-worker, I can't wait to get out of here. The table next to me is getting fawned over and we're being ignored. The food was mediocre. Won't be going back! Quite often, the hospitality business lives up to its name, but not this time. Let me start by saying my wife and I and friends come here at least once or twice a month. We have always enjoyed our experience. The food is good and plentiful, and the service is always great. When I saw they had a Summer Special I was excited. 3 categories starting at $24. However I should have known That Cheap is not Good and Good is not cheap. I ordered the Chicken Marsala with veggies and a salad That was $26. Well the salad was a third the size of a regular salad and the Entre was one small piece of Chicken. My bad for not asking if the portions were the same. Totally not worth it. I don't recommend the Special. Also the Cannoli desert was as big as my pinky. read more

Second time visiting this restaurant, Went 2 months ago for lunch and had the best Veal Marsala I've ever had. If I were at home I'd have licked my plate clean! I met my friend for dinner tonight, and we're headed for some Chinese food; the Chinese restaurant was closed, so we walked down to the stores and saw this Italian restaurant. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but we still decided to try it. We were greeted by three smiling faces and promptly led to our table. I believe we're the third group of people that came in that night. The inside decor is more upscale than a typical Italian restaurant; the place was very inviting. Our waitress Mariana was a hoot, and I really enjoyed joking around with her. There was a veal Parmesan with ziti's, a minestrone soup, a side of bread with olive oil and cheese, and an eggplant Parmesan with a side of spaghetti. They are three different types of bread, which was pretty decent; I'm not a fan of olive oil and cheese, but that's old-school, and it wasn't too bad. We both had a bowl of minestrone soup, and we both agreed that it was delicious; everything was fresh and made in the house; if I could go swimming in the pot, I would. It was that good. I would honestly go back just for the minestrone soup. The highlight of my meal was the veal Parmesan with zitis. The veal was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the cheese was hot and oozing precisely the way I liked it. It also had a nice crust to it to round out the veal. Fewer places are selling this these days, and these people definitely nailed it. My friend said his eggplant Parmesan was the best he's had in a long time. The highlight of the meal they brought everything together was the sauce/gravy. I believe this place tastes the gravy. Very few Italian restaurants get this right in south Florida, and these people are one of them. I hate to recommend them because then there would be a line every time I go back there, but if you do go there, I believe you will enjoy it and keep going back.
