Ordered a tuna hoagie off their menu and states what came on tuna hoagie, which said lettuce top with tuna salad, tomatoes, sweet peppers, mushrooms and pickles. II placed an order, picked it up and went to my sons house. Upon opening the pizza box, I received the wrong pizza. I called the business and the person who took my order began to argue with me. Told me to come back and he would remake it and charge me the difference. I was willing so drive back, bring the now contaminated pizza with to but do not feel I should be charged the difference. We order subs from Mamma's almost weekly and for the most part, it's good. However, we ALWAYS order a sub with no mayonnaise, and without fail, 4 out of 5 times it has half a jar of mayonnaise soaking up the bread and slopping everywhere. I want to love this place, but they simply do not pay attention to details. I'll give them one more chance, but if they don't start reading the orders more closely, we will stop buying there. Yeah, this place was somewhere I wanna wanted to go. I like experimenting new pizza places and this one was on my list. A total disappointment. My boyfriend and I walked in, looked at the menu for a few minutes. We asked for the combo #1. The staff told me that they don't make slices. Like huh? Aren't you a pizza shop. So anyways they don't make slices, we had to either order a small or medium pizza so we get a medium. Then, I ask for 2 large drinks. I get charged 1.99 per drink and she hands me a small cup. I told her I asked for a large she then tells me they only have one size. So I was charged a made up price. I've eaten here many times. Service and food has gone way down. I just spent $44.00 on crap. The chicken Alfredo was undercooked. The lasagna was burnt. I accidentally spilled my drink on the table and they gave me a dirty rag and walked away. The silverware is in a community drawer for everyone to handle. Really gross. There was MOLD all around the edges of the meat on my Italian sub. They also said they had no oil for fries and gave us bags of chips instead, which were coated in a layer of dust. It was once a good place, but now the place is falling apart. An open bucket of bleach water was on the counter. Tiles coming off wall. Open wiring sticking out of the ceiling. Placed me on hold for about 10 minutes when I called to complain about the moldy sandwich that I picked up. They asked if I wanted them to make me a new one. WOW!! Mamma's Pizza & Subs is our new favorite for delicious pizza at a great price!! The crust has a nice flavor & texture (New York style); even the pickiest in our group left only crumbs on their plate. The sauce was good, not overpowered by spices; a little skimpy though. There was just the right amount of cheese, not too stringy or chewy & not too little. The toppings were generous. Last, but not least, the price for an x-large 'Mamma's Special' (think everything but the kitchen sink) was $18 w/o tax!! We ordered our pizza to go, so I can't comment on the service for Dine-In. We walked in at one of their busiest times on a Friday evening and the service was prompt & friendly. The only disappointment I experienced as a first-time patron was not being able to get their menu online. I just moved to a new house about 1.5 miles away. I order pizza 1-2 times a week as I hate to cook. I Ordered pizza at 5:15pm. Called at 6:15pm and was told driver just left. called at 6:45 pm and was told driver just left. called at 7:10 pm and was told driver just left. (Left for where? Tahiti??). Called at 7:30 and was told driver was enroute. Driver arrived 7:47pm -- that's right --- 2 hours, 30 minutes after ordering. Reading the reviews, apparently this is standard practice. Driver said the owner will only cook delivery orders if there is no other people in the store. The owner cooked all other orders that walked in AFTER I called, for over 2 hours!!! and finally when the dinner rush was over & the store had no one left, he then made & cooked my pizza. Driver said people complain all the time about the 2+ hour wait time but the pizza is good, so people just keep buying. Obviously, my pizza was cold. Good, but cold and 2.5 hours is way too long to wait. Should have read all the Yelp reviews first and gone elsewhere . Can't imagine how much $$$ this owner loses every year by poor time management & processing issues & poor reviews. Guess he thinks there's no other options , but surprise! other pizza places deliver too! (and with a $5 tip to the driver, I now have a nice little list of places with faster delivery). read more

First of all; the other review that gave a one star was being irresponsible. There is no possible way a reasonable person can leave a one star unless this was an entirely different establishment a year ago.....and maybe it was for all I know. But this place was not dirty in any way. In fact, I had just noted how clean the restroom was before I read that review while waiting for our food to be cooked. The food exceeded our expectations. The pizza was above average and so were the wings. The chicken parm sub was superior. They had some original items such as the "Hawaiian cheeseburger". The staff was very pleasant. The decor was retro feeling (which we like very much). It is not fancy and it's not some corporation. It's local and divey (and to me "divey" is a compliment). If you want a brand new restaurant with no personality, that's not this place. This is simple and old fashioned and local. The prices were normal and perhaps a little lower than I am used to. It was definitely clean to my standards. It doesn't look like much from the outside and is very easy to overlook. I'm glad that didn't stop us from going in. I find it sad that someone left the absolute lowest rating one can leave just because they may or may not have seen one dead bug under a table, and then SPECULATED, with no tangible information, that the kitchen was probably dirty. My son and I very nearly didn't come here simply because the only review was a one star. But we were in a silly mood and I said "do you want pizza or GOOD pizza" and he replied "whatever is closest". This was simply the closest place to us at the time. But we VERY much enjoyed our visit and even though it's not local for us, we will come back if we can. It is a shame that someone didn't think it through as to the damage they could do to someone's reputation by giving the lowest star rating they could, based on shaking information. They even agreed that the food was at least "OK" in their opinion. By their description it sounded more like a 3-star review. They don't always answer on the first call and sometimes the delivery takes a bit longer than expected( I just assume they're busy). The Food is worth the wait! I didn't have allot of time so I asked for one slice of cold pizza. The guy who took the order clearly did not speak good English. The next day, no call, I called and told he was not in and again gave my name and number. Following day still no call, called again, and was told he was not in. I am not a complainer by any means, but this was extreme. We paid $35 (including tip) for two pizzas and wings that was delivered an hour and 15 minutes late and was so awful even the dog wouldn't eat it. Then the "owner" couldn't even return my call.
