A dinner at Mammoth Tavern is a must when visiting. It's practically a family tradition at this point. We come for the fondue, drinks and views. My personal favorite cocktail is the Butterfly Kiss featured in this review and the food it's always delicious. I have yet to see this restaurant without a wait or busy, but all of that is worth it. If you're in the area and would like a delicious meal and love a great ambiance, come to Mammoth Tavern.

The service was okay, the food took a little longer than expected and the drinks got forgotten, or left at the bar for long periods of time. The lighting was very calming, had a very warm cozy vibe. The Cesar salad with the add on of shrimp was so refreshing. The fondue was delicious was a perfect appetizer for a party of 4 probably 6 max. Rounding it up the chocolate mousse was ok reminded me of chocolate pudding from elementary school, the key lime pie was to die for it was truly the reason to go back it hit the spot 10/10! Overall I give this place a 7/10

The French onion soup is a must! This place is a gem, it get really busy on the weekends so I recommend making a reservation. They have the best staff, very attentive and friendly. I got the chicken sandwich, super good. And they have an excellent beer selection. We will be back!

Loved the food, service attentive and the vibe fun & up scale long wait to get in, but worth the wait!

AWESOME food! We went twice in one week and between the five of us we tried almost everything on the menu: oysters, ribs, spinach dip, pretzel, onion soup, burger, chicken sandwich, wrap, Cesar salad, macaroni and cheese, etc. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service was solid--we enjoyed our waiter Jesse and wish I could remember our female server's name, as she was excellent as well. She was helping with hostess duties too! Only downside is the restaurant is far too small to accommodate how popular they are. They don't accept reservations so we waited more than an hour on a Friday night. Ugh. And unlike other places, they don't text when your table is ready--you must wait in the vicinity and be there when they call your name. Bummer. We will definitely return but will try to avoid a weekend night.

Went with friends for dinner and we've been many times and loved it. Last night was no exception except our appetizer took longer to arrive and food was a little cold. (4) Not sure what the issue was but the food was still tasty but I would have preferred it hot. Love my favorite drink which is not on the menu, butterfly kiss. So pretty and tasty. Many tvs around to catch all sports and a full bar will keep you happy! Happy hour menu is great (4:30-5:30) and includes food from the full menu. Great deal! Enjoy!!

A place we return to time and time again. The food is delicious. We always get the short rib grilled cheese, side salad, the burger and shepherds pie. Never disappoints! The service is always friendly and fast. The ambiance is that of a cabin like, mountain lodge bar. Beautiful views while eating. Full bar. Happy Hour menu. TVs near bar. Ample parking as it is located in a strip mall. Keep in mind, it is upstairs. You need to walk inside strip mall entrance and take the stairs up to your right. Cheers!

We typically like sitting at the bar but bar seats were full so we opted for a table rather than wait. There are both high top and low top seating available as well as bar seating against the windows and fermentation silos. There is also seating outdoors if weather permits. The tables use a bar code scanning system to order food and drinks, then a person will deliver the food. I'm okay with this but I can see why some people would be frustrated with this process. For the appetizer we ordered the POBLANO ARTICHOKE DIP - $16 Artichoke, Poblano Chile, Corn, Cheddar, Colby Jack, Parmesan, Garlic, Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, Cream Cheese. Warmed and served with Pita bread or chips. We elected for the tortilla chips. This is a tasty appetizer and the perfect size for two people. For drinks we ordered two different hot cocktails served almost like a hot tea. Mulling it over - $17 Glass Creek Vodka, Mulled Spice Juice, Lemon. This was quite good and had a little bit of sweetness. The second was The Hot Toddy. $17. American Single Malt Whiskey, Lemon, Honey, Ginger. This tasted a little stronger and no sweetness. Do I think the drinks are a little expensive , yes. But sadly that is what you come across in a ski village. Personally I was a little shocked at how many families with young children were at the distillery but I've noticed that in almost every bar or brewery in Mammoth. Another good but different experience at Shelter Distilling.

Tucked into the Village right next to Gomez's Mexican Restaurant (which is no slouch itself), this place pulls off that rare trick: it actually feels like a legit Italian escape...just with better snow outside. Let's start where all good decisions begin: pizza as an appetizer. Yes, you heard that right. Their authentic pizza oven isn't just for show--it's the real deal. Thin crust, blistered just enough, and gone in about 90 seconds at our table. No regrets. The tricolore salad is a solid opener--fresh, simple, and a nice way to pretend you're pacing yourself. You're not. Because then comes the main event: Voltaggi-O's. Imagine your childhood love affair with Chef Boyardee's Spaghetti-O's...then imagine it went to culinary school, studied abroad in Naples, and came back with confidence, depth, and a killer wine list. That's this dish. It's nostalgic, elevated, and borderline dangerous in how easy it is to keep eating. And honestly? The staff might be the real MVPs. Servers and bartenders here are five-star across the board--attentive without hovering, smiling like they actually enjoy being there, and full of spot-on recommendations (which, let's be honest, we happily followed). Bottom line: If you're in Mammoth and craving Italian that goes beyond the usual ski-town fare, Vulcania is the move. Come hungry, order the pizza "appetizer" (don't overthink it), and don't you dare skip the Voltaggi-O's. You'll leave full, happy... and already planning your next visit.

tldr; the amazing trifecta of amazing service, food and views. The specials are often worth trying!…read more Mammoth is usually one of the few ski resorts in California that opens the longest, and has the most open terrain. This was particularly true of the 25/26 season, and I found myself there in what was likely one of the last powder days of the season. I stayed in the Mammoth Creek Inn, a short walk away from Mammoth Bowl, but this is not the first time I've been there. Mammoth Rock Brasserie is somewhat hidden as it exists above a bowling alley, but it is undeniably one of the rare gems in Mammoth Lakes. I walked in at about 5:30pm without a reservation on a Saturday, and everything was great. I got seated quickly near the window with a great view, and was given the rundown of the specials of the day, which I'll be grading individually. - Hamachi Special "Hamachi Crudo" (5/5) - done to absolute perfection, the choice of sauces and a small amount of ginger and seaweed salad made for a perfect tasing experience. The sashimi is fresh of course, but what sauces you pair with it matters - and Brasserie did it perfectly - Seabass special "Loup de Mer au Beurre Blanc" (5/5) - done to perfection! The skin was perfectly crispy, and the fillet done amazingly well and combined with the Beurre Blanc made for an incredible pairing. The mashed potato side and asparagus was also great, although I wasn't really a fan of the root vegetables. There was also the complementary bread and salted butter which were a great way to start. The bread I believe comes from Shea Schat's bakery in the same town. Overall everything was amazing, and you're overlooking some of the best views of Mammoth Lake's mountain range. It's difficult to not recommend the experience, except maybe it being a somewhat pricey fine dining experience, but I think everyone should try it at least once!
