Four of us visited this morning and had a nice breakfast! We chose to order from the menu which did indeed save us a few bucks! Glad we did as I am not much of a fan for the morning buffets ! The restaurant was packed with customers and by the time we left, there was a line out the door by about a dozen folks. We all agree that we would return another time when in the mood for a good breakfast!

My Uber driver told me this was the best breakfast buffet in town. Ten minutes later, I found myself here. I got here at a good time because there was no wait! There is no waiting area, so you have to line up outside if there's already one party inside. I opted for the breakfast buffet ($15.99 per adult), and it was marvelous. I can't really eat much for breakfast, but I enjoyed all the fresh fruits: watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew, grapefruit, grapes, strawberries, etc. Too bad coffee is not included in the buffet. The corned beef hash and French toast were most notable to me. Service was ok. You have to ask the server for the bill, and then you bring it to the counter to pay. They sell merch like T-shirts and magnets. Bathroom available. No Wifi. Credit card accepted.

We love coming here. Especially for the breakfast food. Yummy buffet. Super impressed with the fresh fruit section. Only 1 negative is the hashbrowns are soggy. Not much Crispiness to them.

We enjoyed our breakfast at Mammy's. It's in a great location in Myrtle Beach. We were able to walk from our resort. They had a cute and simple breakfast buffet which allowed us to quickly eat and transition back to vacation mode. They had healthy options to more hearty options on the menu including all the traditional items you'd expect. The price was good for the options as well. The service team were friendly and attentive. I'd recommend to check them out if you're looking for a hearty, fast casual breakfast option.

The best breakfast location on the grand strand. The buffet is always stock with fresh items small batches and I think that is why it is such a great value for the money. The eggs are light and fluffy and the homemade biscuits are spot on. I highly recommend this place after multiple visits it continues to be consistent and the service by all the staff is just outstanding! Even the cooks welcome you while fulling the Buffet with frequent fresh small batches.

I've been coming to Myrtle Beach since I was kid in the 70's and 80's and my family never ate breakfast at Mammy's ! When I got older and moved away from the east coast I still came home to the Carolinas every 2 to 3 years and still I had heard about this place and how you would sometimes have to wait in line outside for it. Well , that is something I don't care to do. But anyway , I finally came here on September 21st and it was well worth it and I didn't have to wait in line. When I was leaving though there were a few people waiting outside to get in , so I guess I had good timing. I was seated right away and ordered coffee. The buffet line was filled with a pretty good selection. The first thing you see is fresh fruit and let me tell you , you have to get the Strawberries. They were so good and fresh. I live in Las Vegas and we get those California Strawberries and they don't have half the flavor these did , must be all the GMO. I also got a slice of Cantaloupe , a slice of Pear , and a slice of Peach. Now to the main items. I got Grits , Biscuit and Gravy , Sausage Patty and Sausage Link , Scrambled Eggs with Peppers , Corn Beef Hash , and the Strawberries the first plate. The Grits were thick and good like I like them. The Scrambled Eggs were good. I liked the Sausage Patty better than the Sausage Link. The Corn Beef Hash I didn't care for. Biscuit and Gravy was good , but mine are better of course. The Strawberries as I said were great and I got more on my second plate. On my 2nd plate I tried a Pancake with Strawberry Syrup with pieces of Strawberry in it and more Grits and some fruit. The Pancakes were pretty good and fluffy. The price is really reasonable and that is why it's probably been in business so long. From my understanding they been in business since 1953 and I'm sure they will be here many years to come.

This place has been here serving the area since 1953. Definitely looks like an ole style diner outside but they have kept up the inside. Food is simple, yet good. We order our eggs over-medium well. This is not easy for most places but they got it perfect! There was also a buffet available but we opted for ordering simple. Otherwise we would have eaten too much. Hahaha. Coffee was great our server was thorough and kept our glass, mugs full. We wanted to go again but the next day line was around the corner. We will definitely be back. Purchased a couple t-shirts as gifts.

Great place to eat if you're up early (get here before 9:00am for speedy service and no wait). The service was excellent--seated and orders taken quickly. The food was a winner all across our party of 8. The sausage wasn't top notch but others might like it. The prices were very reasonable. Everything was the bomb. I had fried whiting, sweet potato, rice and gravy, corn bread with an appetizer of chicken liver. I had to peep into the kitchen to make sure my mom wasn't in the back cooking because I thought I was back home. Service was fast. The server was attentive. read more

i expected a nice calm breakfast, i didn't expect a rude server. the food was extremely bland and the bacon was undercooked. the place was very loud and crowded, it looks like the furniture hasn't been changed since they first opened! food came out fast but it looked like it just came from the buffet although i ordered from the menu. read more

Great food, great service! My family always makes a stop to mammy's when we're in Myrtle beach! Food taste great they keep the buffet stocked and full even when it's super busy. It's not the largest restaurant but wait times never seem long. Decor could be updated but who really cares what the place looks like as long as it's clean and the food is delicious! Mammy's is probably the worst breakfast spot in Myrtle Beach. The line outside of the restaurant made us think that this restaurant was packed because the food was just that good. This couldn't be further from the truth. The servers are friendly, but thats about the only goodness this place offers. There was 10 of us in our party, and NONE of us took more than 3 bites of our food. It wasn't even worth complaining to the server about how horrible the food was. We just got up, paid the bill and left. The food was room temperature and bland. All of the meats (steak, bacon and ham) were tough and tasted as if they had been boiled. I would not be surprised of 99% of their business comes from patrons who are first timers, and never come back. Do yourself a favor and skip this spot. Mammy's is officially the worst. read more

Here's one of those iconic Beach spots that has a southern breakfast so there's something for everyone. They do offer plastic gloves if you opt for the buffet. I ordered a la carte and my food came out fast and hot. Nothing truly exceptional about this place but it's perfectly adequate and exactly what you'd want. read more

I love old fashioned diners, so this one is at the top of my list. I had the cheeseburger and fries and my wife had pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs and cheese. It was delicious! The restaurant is clean (restrooms as well) and the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

We might stop back once more before we leave. Food was pretty good and the price wasn't too shabby. There was a good selection and everything seemed fairly fresh, since it is constantly being refilled with the crowd. The employees kept the place clean and even though there was a line to get in when we arrived, the hostesses kept things moving and we got efficiently got to our seats. read more

A friend recommend that I stop in and I'm glad she did. They have a traditional menu or a breakfast buffet. The buffet had a little bit of everything. There were miniature doughnuts - corned beef hash - sausage grave and biscuits - French toast - bacon and sausage. There was a lot of fruit but most of it was canned. I like that the orange juice had pulpe and The coffee was decent. The place was clean, the service was friendly and the price was good. I'll definitely stop in again next time I visit. read more

If you like generic breakfast buffets, you'll like Mammy's. They offer all of your basics, just as a Shoney's does, and at about the same quality/taste. At $7.50, the price is decent for a breakfast that will fill you up for hours to come. Their other menu items are close to the $7 mark, so you're better off getting the buffet to get a better value for your buck. And almost everything else (besides waffles and omelets) is on the buffet. p.s. Someone commented that they charge for water. I saw on their menu that they do charge $2 for bottled water, but they didn't charge us for tap water. Then again, we ordered two coffees, too. read more

Love the breakfast buffet. Stopped in on our way out of town and wowza! A great deal for the price. All my favorites that I consider treats to only have on occasion and the coffee is good! Biscuits and sausage gravy, sweet treats like doughnuts, corned beef hash, fresh fruit yummy! The only bad thing was being seated by the door made it a bit awkward when the line for tables started to form. Get there early to avoid a wait! Definitely stopping in again next time I'm in town. read more

Mammy's kitchen is iconic in Myrtle Beach. I can't believe in 15 years of golfing and 5 years of living here, its my first visit. Unreal, I know! During the summer months and tourist season there are lines down the block of people waiting to get in the door. It's legendary breakfasts and signature buffet featuring all kinds of fresh fruit, pancakes, several kinds of eggs. Hash browns, potatoes, grits, bacon, sausage links and patties, biscuits and gravy, corn beef hash, etc etc etc for $9.99 is the bomb diggity. Now it's not fancy by any means. It's a true diner, drive ins, and dives kind of place. They even serve beer and mimosa's the size of new Jersey for $6. It won't be the last time I come here and I recommend a stop. Mammy's is a staple breakfast restaurant locared in myrtle beach, south carolina. This place has been here for as long as i can remember They serve breakfast buffet and by menu, in season it is always full of tourists starting their day. I would suggest you try the buffet because i have always thought it was good. The service has always been fast and friendly and the price is right for a beach vacation. read more

The selection is great. I'd definitely return. Especially since my toddler ate for free. (It's either two and under or UNDER two that eats free.) The direction of the line was confusing to the people there but I guess you just go with the flow. One time it was being used on both sides, so the line went quicker but the next time people were only going down one side then walking back up the other side. That took too long but it's still quicker than waiting for the cooks in the back to cook your meal. read more

I had breakfast here. They have a buffet that costs $8.99 and you can also order off the menu. I ordered Mammy's Special off the menu for $6.99. It came with two eggs, two pieces of bacon or sausage and two pancakes. My scrambled eggs were ok, but on the well done side. Sausage links were generic in quality. Pancakes were large and ok, but I'm not a big pancake fan. Service was fine and food came out quick early on a Sunday. It was nice to get a little coffee pot so you can do your own refills. This was an ok place for breakfast, with a pretty standard set of options and decent quality. read more

The absolute very best breakfast of our entire trip! we had the best waitress, the best service and the best food!! They have a wonderful breakfast buffet. I walk around it but decided I'd eat too much so we ordered off the menu. the food actually came in four minutes.......YES.....four minutes!! It was hot and exactly how we requested it! we were five days into hotel breakfasts and delightfully thrilled to find Mammy's Kitchen! Definitely calls for a return trip!! read more

All around awesome! The service was fantastic and the food was even better. We came around 9:00 and got seated right away. The breakfast buffet was fresh and they were bringing new food out every minute. The french toast, bacon, corn beef hash, and biscuits and gravy were so so good. We settled on the Aspen family meal which consisted of 2 meats and 4 sides. We chose smothered pork tenderloin and fried chicken along with mac 'n cheese, collard greens, fried okra and candied yams. Fried chicken was awesome, crispy, with an assortment of dark and white meat pieces. We were looking for a knife because of the pork tenderloin and realized you don't need it. It was that tender. You could cut it with a fork and it too was awesome. Everyone raved about all the side items except the mac & cheese it was a bit on the bland side so it was not our favorite. There was no need for a refill of any of the food. The first round was very ample sized and everyone left very satisfied. And if I have a bit of feedback, our waiter was not attentive unlike the waitress serving the tables in our same area. He was didn't bother to come back and see if we needed a refill on any of the drinks or the food. The only disappointing thing was they no longer offer you a small sample size dessert to finish up your meal. It's been a while since I've dined here so I'm not sure how long that change has been in place. However, we understand the food industry continues to be impacted by the current economy. The cost for 4 people exceeded our expectations an amount that felt disproportionate to the overall experience provided. The service was adequate. Our waitress was courteous, but could have kept up on our drink refills. The food fell significantly short of our heightened anticipation. Dishes arrived at the table within minutes of ordering, far quicker than would be consistent with individual dish preparations. This is served family style with options of your main courses and sides. The okra was good, but had some very hard pieces. I bit down on one that was so hard it could have broken a tooth. Green beans were decent, but extremely salty. The creamed potatoes were the best thing in my opinion and we were able to be served both the white & brown gravy's. The fried chicken was so dry and uneatable, with extremely minimal flavor and texture that did not meet standard expectations for Southern-style preparation. We realized after the fact: you can request the chicken parts. The macaroni & cheese tasted mushy offering little depth of homemade character. The biscuits were also very dry. They looked great, but tasted bland. The fried fish & tartar sauce was probably the most memorable dish. However, not everyone in our party had it because they do not like it. There's other options for "main" choices, but you'll have to compromise as a group. You'll have to do the same as far as the sides too! I would not recommend Paula Deen's Family Restaurant based on this visit and would advise potential patrons to consider other options for Southern comfort food while in Myrtle Beach. There are many more options within this great broad-walk complex. That said, I would suggest shopping in the gift store located in the downstairs of the building, as there are lots of merchandise that represents Paula Deen far better than her eatery. * If you happen to be a Food Network FAN (like I am). Flavor Town is coming to the other side of town. Location will be at the Myrtle Beach Mall & will open in June 2026*
