Food is not as pictured, and they forgot half the ingredients on my burrito. I'd rather get Taco Bell next time :(

Food- 3.5 stars Ambiance- 4 stars…read moreService- 5 stars This restaurant is located in Kailua town and verrrry touristy. I decided to have dinner and drinks with one of my best friends after a photo shoot at Kailua beach park. We had no issue at all with parking which is always a win when you're in the middle of Kailua, My friend and I both ordered the Li Hing mui margarita blended and you know it lasted us the whole time we sat at our table lol. Their margaritas are served in fishbowl glasses and so yummy! I also ordered their Birria tacos with consommé. It was okay. I felt like I tasted more oil and grease and couldn't put my finger on the taste of the consommé sauce. Our waitress was so kind and upbeat. She offered us another round to which we declined and had a smile on her face every time she came around. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area for a drink or a great time

But don't let that deter you. We waited quietly and patiently at the check in counter, and watched the staff walk between taking orders, delivering water and dishes. No one caught our eye to say we'll be with you in a minute, even if they stood right in front of us touching their counter pad. We thought we were being ignored. We didn't try to stop anyone, though. Others from behind squeezed past us to just get seats at the bar. However, we had a group of five wanting to dine in at a table. I watched as seated guests waited for someone to take their orders. As soon as staff were able to engage, we were greeted, and advised where we'd be seated once another staff member had mopped the floor by the table. And then the service was great from there. Well into our meal, which was delish(!), with water refills and requests fulfilled, we discovered there was a brand new gal on deck who was trying to be helpful with utensils and napkin prep, but no one had a chance to train during the lunch rush, which was above the normal crowd because of the wonderful community event right outside - the "I Love Kailua" street fair). Everything was just super busy. And I say lunch rush with tongue in cheek because it was well past the lunch hour and people were still lining up out the door. So glad everyone was patient and were able to enjoy their food and beverages (we weren't drinking but those margaritas looked fire!) in air conditioned comfort. Don't forget to ask for the salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. Once staff are in rhythm, everything works out.

Parking: street side Seating: 5 smaller tables that hold 3-4 people each. There is bench seating outside. Service: ordering was quick & easy. Actually receiving our food took a little over 30 mins but it was a weekend and they were slammed! I'd happily wait every time because the burritos really are that good. Food: nothing tastes better than a konos burrito in a to go bag on the beach. I'm a huge fan of the chorizo burrito add avocado & my husband devours the pork one! Can't beat 2 fat burritos for under $40.

I'm a business owner and to me customer service matters more than anything, even when the experience isn't perfect. Kono's stepped up. Everything went well from order through delivery, and the Tube Bagel was fresh and delicious. They were out of something, but called to offer a choice of substitutions. I would share a photo but it's currently passing through my digestive system and not feeling very photogenic at the moment. Ignore that silly disgusting mess attached to my original review, but I will leave the photos up because I think they are instructive for management. Mission Accomplished Kono's Kailua! Not a criticism but I couldn't communicate with the Uber Eats driver through the website app. Whoever it was found me.

Yall im from San Antonio and so im pretty knowledgeable on what good Mexican food tastes like…read more Javis is legit good. Not just good for Hawaii. But legit good. Not great. But a solid 7-8/10. I had the grilled pescado mazatlan I think they called it. Well cooked fish. The sauce on top was a tomato based one that was really good. I thought the rice lacked flavor--you can always tell because it was very light red instead of a more vibrant red which means there wasn't enough tomato juice while cooking the rice or whatever. Black beans were plentiful, tender, and tasty. My date had the enchiladas verde. Yall. I'm not a green chili guy. I like the tomato based kind much more. But, I'm not joking here, I could drink that chili verde all day. It has this really tangy taste to it that is just perfect. I had good envy because of the sauce. Also the free chips & salsa was good. The chips were probably store bought and I feel like maybe the salsa too? If it was, they need to tell me where they get it because I loved it. The restaurant is smallish on the inside but can accommodate a larger crowd. The parking lot is cramped so if you go when it's busy, I'd recommend parking on the street and walking cuz I'm 100% sure cars get bumped while maneuvering in that lot all the time. Would recommend to anyone who needs a good Mexican food fix. Prices are typical for Oahu. 4 stars cuz they didn't have fish tacos which I was craving and the bland rice.

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. As always a great experience with a great casual setting..fair pricing (nothing is considered "cheap" nowdays) ..good food and friendly staff.
