Watered down ketchup

I was really looking forward to eating here, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The service was slow from start to finish. It took a long time for our food to come out, and my boyfriend had completely finished his meal before I even received mine. All I ordered was the shrimp. My boyfriend also ordered fries, and they came out last, so late that we honestly thought they had forgotten about them. When we were ready to leave, it also took quite a while to get our check. As for the food, it wasn't worth the wait. The shrimp was just okay, and the broccoli was very mushy. Overall, the long wait times and underwhelming food made for a disappointing experience.

We picked up food here last night and it was great. The food was tasty and they give huge portions for the price. I got the bbq mixed plate $16.99 (bbq chicken, bbq short rib and teri beef). The hubby got the chicken katsu plate $9.99. All plates come with two scoops of white rice and a scoop of mac salad. They have a huge menu. I had a hard time deciding what to order. If you order take out they have a cute waiting area. Also, if you pay in cash you'll save the 3% credit card fee and they give you a stamp card.

Wagyu burger (added cheese) - soooo delicious. Melt in your mouth literally with each bite

Finally tried this place and it did not disappoint!! There are so many yummy options to choose from- that was the hardest part for sure. We called in an order and the woman we spoke with was so friendly. When we went to pick up, it was all ready for us, no wait time or anything which is always a perk! Even though we didn't eat inside, we thought the seating area was very clean and looked really cute. Will definitely be going back again to try more of their food!

This place is so affordable and worth it. They are always busy which is a good thing. Some days are hit or miss...with the service. Most days are good. Some days it takes 15 minutes for them to take your order. But that is few and far between. I just love the food.

Made to order plate lunches available at Oh My Grill - Kailua I've been dying to try OMG since they opened a Kailua location on Kainehe Street. My other half brought back a grilled salmon plate for me! It was perfectly grilled, accompanied with brown rice and greens (loved the cucumber). Looking to return for the grilled fish plate or the healthy bowl. Carnivores: check out the NY steak special (served until 11 am).

Pork and grilled chicken combo plate, and char sui w/noodles.

So we found this little quaint place, so we had to try it, we ordered the combination plate with an order char sui with noodles, and it was so much food we had to take it home for later. I would recommend this to anyone passing through Kailua, price was right, food was very tasty, better then L&L in the mainland states. Stop and say Mahalo, and expect a happy greeting from the workers. Great little island restaurant..

This location was small but we managed to eat here on a weekday. Parking is minimal.. The fries here were good. the food here is pretty consistent to the other location I have been to in Pearl City. I definitely finished my food as I came hungry. Service was good. Not too busy is how I like it. Ambiance was bright. I definitely would come here again to eat.. Highly recommend.

Oxtail Soup

I didn't even have to eat to give my current rating. The mere fact that our sleepy Kailua Town cuisine shuts down at 8-830 pm is sad, especially on a Friday night, with the exception of McD's, or Taco Bell or Jack. O.M.G. At 9:00 pm was full with only one 2 top available. They operate with some table service and all the patrons were fully engaged and the food was flowing out of the kitchen. It's been completely renovated from the previous restaurant which was dark and dingy. It's bright, clean and fresh, very inviting. My to go order was ready upon arrival, as promised. I gambled on the Oxtail Soup priced at $23.99 (+3% credit/debit). The broth was ok. IMHO, it deserves a bronze and maybe a silver, but it lacked some zing from spices or herbs. There was a hint of star anise, but very faint. There is a ramekin of ginger that was included, but it didn't have zest or freshness when added to the soup. I'd prefer in addition some chopped cilantro for the herbal punch. The oxtails were the highlight! 4-5 nicely trimmed, meaty, juicy and tender tails with peel off the bone meat.

Great food great service and awesome prices - can't go wrong no matter what you order! All day special- Chicken Katsu w/ rice & Mac salad $9.99 Mini hamburger steak w/ gravy - rice & Mac salad!!!! I think they mix their own hamburger so it's tasty!

Cute restaurant. I enjoyed the NY steak with garlic shrimp, cold ginger chicken and the wagyu burger. They were all excellent. The service was 5 star and everything was very clean. Reminded me of Japan. Prices were very reasonable too.

I wanted to like this place so badly. I'm always looking for places to get dinner in Kailua and I was happy to see this place open. It looked promising. What's not to like about local food? It's basically like an L and L, but cleaner and with slightly better options in my opinion. Oh my Grill is located where the old Ohanas used to be. It is in the same lot as Lex Breezy and Lemongrass are. I can see the parking lot getting full during peak times during the day, but there were some spots available at night. We came in on a Sunday night and there were a handful of other people dining in. There are quite a few tables to dine in at and the space is nicely renovated. I like that the menu is full of pictures, but the menus are already kind of breaking and they've only been open a couple months--not sure how much longer the picture menus will be around. I chose the Ox tail soup. For $24 it's one of the pricer options, most other plates are in the $13-$17 range. Most plates come in a mini or regular size and they have appetizers, desserts and nice drink options too. The ox tail soup was a win. I'll definitely be coming back for that. It had 5 or 6 pieces of meaty bones and I loved the greens and pieces of mushroom. Maybe it's just missing some peanuts and cilantro to make it perfect, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Why only 2 stars then? The service was not great. My husband never got his plantation iced tea that he ordered. When we told the waiter, he just brushed it off. I don't think he understood what we were saying. I asked several times if we could get the drink to go. In the end, we had to tell him to take it off our bill since we never received it. No apology. There's definitely a communication/cultural barrier. Also, I ordered an iced milk tea. It tasted good, but it took awhile for me to mix in the sugar syrup sitting at the bottom of the cup. It would be nice if the employees had made the drink ready to drink using a stirrer or shaker. I had to resort to blowing bubbles into the syrup using a straw. Will I be back? Probably.... I will just need to maybe avoid the waiter we had so there are no communication issues again or maybe I could brush up on my mandarin.

I was in Kailua for another event and wanted to come by and support the new oh my grill. The place is beautifully decorated, menus adorned with pictures and tons of cheap eats to choose from. Place was absolutely cranking! Phones going off, to go orders, people sitting down to eat and I have to say, the two staff members were working their assses off and major kudos to them. Another staff member came in to help and she seemed very sweet. They were absolutely on it!!! I had time so I was enjoying my time people watching and waiting for my food. For 13 bucks my plate of Chix Katsu curry was delicious, hefty and that Mac salad is perfect as well. I was being nosy and heard many people ordering the NY steak special for around 10-11 bucks. I will absolutely visit again! Thank you Oh my grill.

This was my first time checking out this restaurant that used to be a longtime Korean restaurant in Kailua. They have pretty good offerings and the place definitely got a facelift. Service was OK. They were partially attentive. I would also bring a jacket if you're planning to sit inside and eat. It was frigid. So, I decided to take the food outside and just eat in my car. The food was pretty good. I had the mixed plate with beef curry, hamburger steak, and teriyaki beef. The hamburger steak was my favorite. Just the flavor of the patty itself was delicious. I will go back just to get a burger the next time. The teri beef was not bad. Pretty tender and flavorful. The beef curry wasn't so great, gotta say. Not a strong curry flavor and maybe a little too much cornstarch. I'd give this place another try, though.

I've been here many many many times and it's finally time I let you in on this secret gem. It's a very small hole in the wall Mom n' Pop shop. There's some seating inside too if you need to rest from being outside in the sun all day. It's definitely no frills, but I'm not gonna dock any points because the main thing is the food. ABSOLUTE BANGER prices. I got the bbq cheeseburger and it was a dream. Very savory and the best part is you don't have to wait around in line for a food truck event to come up just to get your burger fix. I have NO idea what they put in this burger but it's brok da mout. It's SO cheap too. For their plates, they have mini and regular options...which is perfect when you're not ready to commit to a whole plate. The food is made fast and it tastes consistent every single time. They got their system down to a T. I got the BBQ Chicken mini and honestly, this is fully enough to fill you up. They're generous with the chicken, rice and mac. They really remind me of my family when it comes to portioning food...eat eat eat up and grow big. That is a VIBE. At this point I realized that I ate all of the food already and couldn't even show you the good stuff I got. HOWEVER, it's a huge recommend if you're in the area and coming back from the beach. It HITS. For those of you that love logistics planning before you make up your mind, here's a quick rundown: - Free Parking - Restrooms Available - Phone Orders (recommended) - They take card + cash (cash tips only) - Breakfast menu as well - Good, fair prices I hope you'll give them a chance :) ALOHA!

The brisket melted in your mouth, and the chicken was so juicy with a thin crispy skin. The mac and cheese and corn cheese were both soooo good. The pickled jalapeños on the corn was one of those small detail things that added such a refreshing touch to the meal. I also appreciated how the tater tots stayed crunchy until we finished them off. The baked beans had a smoky flavor that made them distinctly better than others I've tried. Don't forget about their two sauces that come with the meal. They added a brightness and kick that made everything taste even better. The only thing I wasn't super stoked on was surprisingly the grilled cornbread. I had high hopes and it was still good, but it could have had more flavor and been more moist. But even with the okay cornbread I can't wait to go back! I'll probably try the regular instead of the grilled cornbread.

We waited about 10 minutes for a table and 20 minutes for our food, and it was worth it. The only downside was the AC being out, making it a little warm inside. Other than that, the service was fantastic. Our waitress went above and beyond, and I only wish I had gotten her name so I could recognize her. I ordered the two choice plate with brisket, BBQ chicken, BBQ baked beans, and potato mac salad. I was so ready to eat that I forgot to take pictures of everything because it smelled that good. The only photo I managed to get was the banana pudding. The brisket was moist and tender with a beautiful smoke ring, the chicken was flavorful, and the guava chili pepper sauce was incredible with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy (drizzle some into the potato mac). Definitely save room for the banana pudding. Our group spent about $100, and with enough leftovers for about six meals, it was an excellent value. We made the drive from town excited to finally give it a try. The food itself was actually pretty good. The brisket had great flavor, although about half of our pound serving was unfortunately just fat. The ribs were delicious, and the mac and cheese was definitely a standout. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the meal. Our waitress got our order wrong a few times and a waiter that wasn't even helping us (brown hair and a beard) made us feel incredibly uncomfortable throughout our visit. He repeatedly glared at our table, shook his head, and gave us what felt like dirty looks. It created an awkward atmosphere that made it difficult to enjoy our meal. Overall, the service was disappointing from start to finish. Would I recommend it? If you're local to the area, yes--the food is worth trying. However, I'd recommend ordering takeout instead of dining in. We left thinking the meal could have been a much better experience if the service had matched the quality of the food.
