I ordered the combo seafood plate with teriyaki chicken. My wife got some fried noodle with chicken plate. We really loved my plate, which had a fried fish cutlet and 4 fried shrimp plus the chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. The fish itself had an amazing crunch when you cut into it. Like the most crispiest thing ever. My wife's plate....was not that great. Noodles lacked flavor and the chicken as well. The portions are honestly huge for one person. If you plan to eat hurt for a quick bite, I recommend sharing the combo plates. The photo where the fork and knife is under the meat, is a photo taken after I threw it out and had to dig it out of the trash to write this review. This is what was left of my chicken katsu plate. It took a long time for our food to come out, and my boyfriend had completely finished his meal before I even received mine. All I ordered was the shrimp. My boyfriend also ordered fries, and they came out last, so late that we honestly thought they had forgotten about them. When we were ready to leave, it also took quite a while to get our check. As for the food, it wasn't worth the wait. The shrimp was just okay, and the broccoli was very mushy. There was a hint of star anise, but very faint. There is a ramekin of ginger that was included, but it didn't have zest or freshness when added to the soup. I wanted to like this place so badly. I'm always looking for places to get dinner in Kailua and I was happy to see this place open. It looked promising. What's not to like about local food? It's basically like an L and L, but cleaner and with slightly better options in my opinion. Oh my Grill is located where the old Ohanas used to be. It is in the same lot as Lex Breezy and Lemongrass are. I can see the parking lot getting full during peak times during the day, but there were some spots available at night. We came in on a Sunday night and there were a handful of other people dining in. There are quite a few tables to dine in at and the space is nicely renovated. I like that the menu is full of pictures, but the menus are already kind of breaking and they've only been open a couple months--not sure how much longer the picture menus will be around. I chose the Ox tail soup. For $24 it's one of the pricer options, most other plates are in the $13-$17 range. Most plates come in a mini or regular size and they have appetizers, desserts and nice drink options too. The ox tail soup was a win. I'll definitely be coming back for that. It had 5 or 6 pieces of meaty bones and I loved the greens and pieces of mushroom. Maybe it's just missing some peanuts and cilantro to make it perfect, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Why only 2 stars then? The service was not great. My husband never got his plantation iced tea that he ordered. When we told the waiter, he just brushed it off. I don't think he understood what we were saying. I asked several times if we could get the drink to go. In the end, we had to tell him to take it off our bill since we never received it. No apology. There's definitely a communication/cultural barrier. Also, I ordered an iced milk tea. It tasted good, but it took awhile for me to mix in the sugar syrup sitting at the bottom of the cup. It would be nice if the employees had made the drink ready to drink using a stirrer or shaker. I had to resort to blowing bubbles into the syrup using a straw. Will I be back? Probably.... I will just need to maybe avoid the waiter we had so there are no communication issues again or maybe I could brush up on my mandarin. read more

The teriyaki beef was inconsistent with flavor and texture. Half was darker than the other with the lighter half being really tough. It was hard to cut and even harder to chew. I was in Kailua for another event and wanted to come by and support the new oh my grill. The place is beautifully decorated, menus adorned with pictures and tons of cheap eats to choose from. Place was absolutely cranking! Phones going off, to go orders, people sitting down to eat and I have to say, the two staff members were working their assses off and major kudos to them. Another staff member came in to help and she seemed very sweet. They were absolutely on it!!! I had time so I was enjoying my time people watching and waiting for my food. This was my first time checking out this restaurant that used to be a longtime Korean restaurant in Kailua. They have pretty good offerings and the place definitely got a facelift. Service was OK. They were partially attentive. I would also bring a jacket if you're planning to sit inside and eat. It was frigid. So, I decided to take the food outside and just eat in my car. The food was pretty good. I had the mixed plate with beef curry, hamburger steak, and teriyaki beef. The hamburger steak was my favorite. Just the flavor of the patty itself was delicious. I will go back just to get a burger the next time. The teri beef was not bad. Pretty tender and flavorful. The beef curry wasn't so great, gotta say. Such a surprisingly amazing experience here! I was just driving around with my partner on the east side at night when we just happened to drive right by here. Since it was really the only spot we saw opened that late (10:30ish) we decided to drop in. We were a bit confused at first if we were supposed to order at the front but they asked us if we were dining in and once we said yes they told us to just take a seat wherever and we will be served. They have a lot of specials however we ordered off their menu normally. The interior is extremely clean and nicely decorated. We both got minis (Mochiko Chicken and Chicken Katsu Curry) and was blown away with the quantity and quality. They were both extremely fresh, crispy, flavorful. Late lunch/early dinner on Halloween Day 2024... Since we were on the Windward side of O'ahu, we decided to check out the newest location of Oh My Grill. I had been to Oh My Grill in Honolulu (McCully) and Aiea already, so I had an idea of what to expect. However, for Halloween, this Kailua location changed it up and had fantastic decorations, a special menu, and the staff wore festive costumes! I appreciated the Orange-colored straw in my Plantation iced tea! The straw had cute black bats on it! The pineapple flavor was strong and good! I also got the Bloody Crab Rangoons! Since we were in the area Nadine C suggested that we check out this Kailua location and what a surprise we'd be in for on this Halloween day. Here in Hawaii not many establishments do take the season and run with it so I was totally surprised to see they had a Halloween menu. The touches this location has put into everything with the fun and bright decor with tv screens showing various merchandise and I was just enjoying it all and was greeted by a staff upon entering and got seated at a table...Oo table service here. Just wanting to grab a snack the fun and entertaining holiday menu added a fun flair as I ordered the Vampire Fries that came with a spider and syringe filled with blood...errr ketchup along with my Vampire Blood Bag that came in a treat bag was a yummy light and not too sweet juice lol! Oh My Grill newly opened in Kailua at 16 Kainehe Street. Grand opening! Small restaurant. Many staff. Food is good and reasonably priced. Everything was quick, from being seated to food on our table. Chicken katsu, macaroni salad and white rice was a special for $9.99. The chicken katsu was crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside. The katsu sauce was like sweet bqq which was so addicting! The macaroni salad was good. Wagyu loco moco, over easy eggs on white rice and macaroni salad $17.99. The wagyu beef patty was good. It was much softer than a regular ground beef patty. We were told the wagyu beef was from Japan. The dish just needed a little more gravy. Bbq mixed plate $16.99. On a thinly sliced bed of cabbage, there were a few pieces of bbq chicken, teriyaki beef, short rib, macaroni salad and rice. It was tasty but too salty for me. Chili and garlic shrimp spaghetti $18.50. Chili on spaghetti, this dish was the first to be devoured! Garlic shrimp was cooked perfectly, but could be even more garlicky. Oxtail soup w rice and finely chopped ginger $23.99. There were five pieces of oxtail, some large, some small pieces. This is a pretty good amount of oxtail (do not tell the owners ). The oxtail meat was soft but with a bit of chew in it. The soup is on the bland side but there is shoyu on the table to add to our liking. Vegetables in the soup were napa cabbage and sliced baby cremini mushrooms. Mochiko chicken on a bed of thinly sliced cabbage, macaroni salad and white rice $13.99. This dish was good too. Pineapple sorbetto float $6.99. Basically pineapple juice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They had lion dance on their grand opening day to celebrate. Free parking. If paying by cash, they deduct 3% off total bill. Cash paying customers receive a stamp card to earn and be rewarded to their selection of stuffed animals and other items which are so cute. Wow, where could this be. I was waiting for the McCully Shopping Center location to reopen, but I read in the comments that there was a Kailua location. Took a chance to drive down where Ohana BBQ used to be. Sure thing, it was the Kailua's location! Yay! The small parking infront was shared by other businesses, but we were surprised to see 2 parking stalls were opened, because there were many customers dining inside on their first day. We decided to dine in too in their nice air conditioned restaurant, since it so humid outside! Oh My Grill was so clean and bright inside with their cute decor. It was smart to have their lit menu board outside so you can even decide on your order before entering inside! They really transformed the old space to a really nice modern restaurant! We couldn't believe we were in Kailua! Nice photo menu to help us decide and the menu prices were pretty reasonable! The restaurant is open as late as midnight! Not too many places open this late. It's so nice to have Oh My Grill in Kailua! They have some specials like their chicken katsu plate for $9.99! I couldn't decide on which of the three chicken plates to get, the I decided on the garlic fish! My friend wasn't too hungry and got the mini garlic shrimp plate. We decided to get the Hawaiian plantation ice tea and the pineapple sorbetto float! By then everyone had left and as we were leaving, more customers came in.
