Been here a few times since this review! Went to pick up take out dinner. This Panda is across Safeway, parking can be a problem as this shopping center has limited parking , during busy times. The store is clean as it was about 3:30 pm & the entrees can sit& look old from sitting in the warmer. Food here is decent & choices vary. Employees are not overly friendly& getting extra hot sauce was a not positive experience! Being in between meals, the napkin container was empty, leaving the restaurant. This locations normally good. Food always fresh and staff is usually aimimg to please...except for today. I guess the B team is on staff and the food was not being refilled quick enough. Manager tried to convince me the food in the warmer just came out. I declined. Asked for fresh and had to wait 20 minutes to get my second plate. Can't believe the veggies was just sitting in the basket. Then the Manager places the order for one of my sides 15 minutes into my wait. By the time I ate my bowl the food was cold. I haven't had a bad experience with Panda Express. The food is what you would expect for non-authentic Chinese cuisine. I usually look forward to the food mountain they give. This location is right by Safeway, not to confuse it with the one in windward mall. Parking is limited right in front, but it's part of the big lot for Safeway so you could really just park anywhere and walk over. The staff are nice and quick. I'm usually not worried when there's a line. The spicy orange chicken was new for me so I had to give it a try. It was good! The spice level to me is pretty equal to the other ones using the same chili peppers. I'm not sure how other locations of panda are but I like this one, feels clean and has a nice seating area to enjoy your meal. read more

We were at the windward mall today with my wife and my 19month old grandson. My grandson felt ill and started throwing up. The closes restroom we saw was at this location-Panda Express in the windward mall. But the person we asked to use the restroom said it's not for public, which seemed unlikely since the size of the restaurant warrants a public restroom for its patrons. Anyway, we said it's an emergency just want to clean him up and not throw up all over the place. The lady still said no and ignored us. We left the area and ran to the food court restroom. Someone from public heath needs to visit this location and review it's unsanitary practice! read more

My daughter wanted to eat here. We could have gone to any other locations but this one was hidden in a strip shopping center close to Safeway. As we entered, we were greeted by the nice lady. I decided to get two combos for me and my daughter. I got half and half, fried rice and chow fun noodles with mushroom chicken. She filled up both sides of the compartments. My daughter got the same except she got orange chicken. They give you so much food. The food was delicious and pretty consistent with other locations. One restaurant takes a break on Tuesdays and the other may not reopen due to the current state of our Pandemic economy. I appreciate the kind gesture! Located at the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center, near Safeway, Panda Express recently was closed for renovations and just opened back up again when this crisis began. They had to adjust and place a table at the entrance to block customers from coming inside. The cash register and friendly staff take orders right there at the door! It's so convenient and quick! I had parked in a (free) 15 minute stall in front of the restaurant and I'm sure that it took less than 15 minutes to order and receive my meal! My order was Orange Chicken, Beef Broccoli, and Honey Walnut Shrimp. It came with a side - I chose chow min (noodles). There was a complimentary Fortune cookie in my takeout bag - along with a package of utensils and napkin. I really liked everything! It turned out to be a mix of savory, sweet, and tangy - when I was just aiming for chicken, beef, and shrimp! The noodles were pleasantly soft, but not mushy and dry (no gravy), but not crunchy! ZERO STARS!!! Tonight was the worst experience ever. They want you to order online fine thats great have done it before and other locations. Tonight the incompetent of the manager was unbelievable. If you are over whelmed trying to fill online orders don't take walkups! Why keep taking walkups and filling those orders before online orders who have been waiting 30 minutes after their pick up times. And if a customer is complaining about the long wait you address that customers order immediately or offer a refund and apologize. Having 6 people busting their asses in the cooking area without and leadership is where this location failed! FAILED MISERABLY!!! IF THE OWNERS READ THIS REVIEW you need to seriously retrain your managers at this location or don't accept online orders. Ordered a bowl with fried rice and mushroom chicken, but instead got a bowl of fried rice. Got 3 small "pieces"of chicken and then a few little bits, the rest was mushrooms and some zucchini. We asked for the mushroom chicken and it happenened it was just refilled. Maybe out of frustration we were purposely given a deceivingly filled bowl? Seeing as the bowl is filled almost to the top with just rice. This bowl is $8, we could at least receive what we pay for. Very disappointed. And in all honesty, I would give no stars if I could. While I'm not usually a chain girl, Panda Express is becoming my go to place! You can't go wrong with Solid fresh veggies and great customer service! "Date night" was kind of a bust the other night for me and my hubby. We had some poor planning coupled with him not eating anything after break fast we found ourselves with a bit of desperation on our hands. The other two places we were thinking of going had lines out the door, so I said let's just grab some Panda! The girl at the counter was super sweet! I absolutely Love beef and broccoli! In fact I kind of wanted a bowl just full of beef and broccoli but they have to put a little bit of rice in there. I asked the girl if she could hook me up with a lot of broccoli and that she did. The broccoli at panda express is always cooked perfectly! It's always what I am looking for! Did I mention that the Panda Express stores carry Brisk Raspberry ice tea?! The TIME OF DAY to get food here is important as it SITS between meal times and gets soggy and junk. If you go during meal hours everything is fresh. Prices are inching Up so there are alternatives now as they are not as inexpensive as they used to be. I always bring it home and grate lots of fresh ginger and Hawaiian chili pepper water on it for a better taste...but if you are picky about FRESH, don't go off hours;)! but for singles who don't wanna cook a meal, there are good veggies here and they always seem to be changing the menu w/new added items--though most are an extra $1.50. She gave the orange chicken 3.5 out of 5 and the fried rice 1 out of 5. Comment was it was super bland and would have benefited with some soy sauce as well as some oyster sauce. I had a plate lunch with chow main, teriyaki chicken and king pao chicken. I give the king PAO and teriyaki chicken solid 3.5 out of 5 but chow main was super bland. I added the mandarin teriyaki sauce to the noodles and then just mixed the kung pao chicken to the noodles. Portion size was ok, and service was ok. read more

When I had gotten into the mindset of needing to find a fancy food or cook something that took hours to make, she reminded me about this place. Now I'm doing my rating based on the fact that this is a "fast food" place. There is nothing fancy about panda express. There is no table service, alcohol, our hostesses to seat you But it's always warm and relatively fresh. It is fast....usually....almost as fast as you can walk the counter. The people at this particular the location are usually friendly, happy to offer you a sample while you are mulling over what side to order. While there is nothing SUPER fancy about it....Panda is now a household name for us, it's convenient, consistent, and calorically clear. We will be back again and again. read more

I watched the manager, Mary Armis, not only be outlandishly rude to the customer in front of me but to myself as well. She treated the customer who was there with his son with appalling disrespect. She should NOT be a manager. In these times, no one should be in the business of service if they scold their customers and yell at them. Neither should they be throwing out food in front of them to give them a dirty plate. It's unsanitary and unnecessary. She treated me with contempt as she seemed stressed. If so, then do us all a favor and stay home if you, as a manager, cannot handle your job. Panda Express is not your typical Chinese restaurant and if you visit, expecting miles and miles of food on the steam table, you will be disappointed. But they do offer unique Panda Express entrees such as honey walnut shrimp or Szechuan beef tips that you won't find elsewhere. The other thing I like is instead of getting either rice or noodles or both as your starch, Panda does offer steamed vegetables. For folks like me on a low carbo diet, this is a welcome change. Their food is flavorful and served in generous portions. I was disappointed by their egg rolls which had a nice crispy outside but the filling seemed to be some sort of mush. I just love the mushroom chicken at Panda Express and too lazy to make it at home. The service and serving sizes has gone downhill. Ordered a kids meal and he was still hungry. The server placed one scoop of mushroom chicken, looked at it and added just ONE more piece chicken. The chow fun was about equal amount. I've gone to other locations and they can barely close the box. They were out of both iced tea's and said no more was available. I guess we won't be visiting this location anymore. First time here at this Panda Express. Tried the walnut shrimp, mushroom chicken and the beijing beef. I didn't care for the walnut shrimp but I did peel back the batter and what do you know, the shrimp is cleaned too. The mushroom chicken is always good. I loved the Beijing beef the best though.. It was crispy with just the right amount of heat to give it a little kick. No crowd when I got here and customer service was friendly. Great place to grab a bite and go or just takeout. They recently remodeled the place and it looks great. The food is made fresh now so sometimes you have to wait, but I don't mind a bit of wait for a hot plate, it's usually only a couple of minutes anyway :) The staff at this location are nice and even though I'm particular and like things a certain way they stay patient with me. There are two Panda Express locations in Kaneohe. This one is across the street from Windward Mall at the Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center. We went there on a week night around 8. There wasn't much left so I asked the counter person if they were going to put out more dishes. She asked me what I wanted, and they cooked it up fresh. We did take-out...and when we got home we were amazed at the amount they gave us. The Kung Pao chicken was better than I've had at the other locations and they had a lot of my favorite veggie - zucchini. Beef broccoli was good so was the orange chicken, their chicken and green beans was a stand out. Their chow fun always (always) looks waaay better than it tastes. This one was no different, but what they did have was 2" pieces of green onions in it. which really added. I've got to remember to do that the next time I make chow fun at home. They are always friendly at the Kaneohe Shopping center location (by Safeway), and if they are running low, they will make you a fresh batch within minutes They always offer samples, fast, clean, convenient, no frills, no thrills. We rarely dine in, and their food is still hot and tasty when I arrive home. Stopped by Panda for dinner. This location is very clean with fast and friendly service. As far as the food goes, it's consistent with the other locations. We ordered 2 bowls (1 side/ 1 entree) and an order of crab rangoons; the total was just over $17. If your in a hurry and want something fairly cheap I'd recommend it. If you're getting more food though, the cost may be comparable to going out somewhere a little nicer. read more

We ordered online and went to pick up. Customers put their orders through the door, with a large plastic sheet covering the entrance where workers/employees take orders. Food was ready to go and order was correct. Social distancing done right! Amount of food and taste as usual, very happy with our experience. Will be back for the $25 family meal. read more

This location is alright. Not the best pandas I've been to. The lady in the front had hard time hearing me so she yell at me to speak up louder in front of other customers. I can understand it was hard for her to hear me with my mask on and there's a plexiglass between us as well which I feel like ripping off the top. When the cashier ask if I wanted to make a donation to a kid's hospital, I said no (but I did make donations before in other panda location) and she gave me the most disappointed look. Nothing special about this Panda Express. Not better or worse than any other Panda Express on the island. Nice facility, public bathroom, friendly staff, and ample seating. The walnut shrimp is bomb and so is their orange chicken. Haven't tried their new dessert mochi balls but they look good. Gets really busy during dinner time on the weekends so expect to wait. It is now open later than usual too. So, when the Panda Express in the mall closes this one is still open. Keep your receipt too because if you complete the survey you get an entree for free on your next visit. Good deal! read more

Last two visits were at dinner time the place was packed. At least 10 people in front of me. But the line moves quickly and there are enough cooks to keep up. The crew is experienced and it shows. Food: Yes, yes I know this is food court style Chinese. Everybody knows it and no one cares!! Fried rice, Chow Mein, brown rice, white rice or mixed vegetables. Orange chicken is OK but the new Honey Sesame Chicken is pretty good. I always get the Tofu Eggplant for myself and it is good for a 4 star meatless dinner. Kung Pao Chicken is also 4 stars and a family favorite. Service: This is a high volume location. If the efficient crew was less than 5 stars it could be a problem. I came to this location because I was in the area. I already knew I had no time to make dinner, so I came in to buy for the family. Parking wasn't that hard. There were a few stalls, but small. The line was long, but it was moving quick. When it came to my turn, I gave them the 4 orders. They were out of orange chicken, so I did have to wait a few minutes, but that's ok. Their orange chicken is awesome! The price for 4 plates costs just as much as the family to go pack (I'm not sure if that's exactly what it's called). So I think getting the individual plates is better than getting specific entrees. But my family likes all different entrees from Panda. The cashier was friendly & checked me out quickly. I was in and out within 10 minutes. When I got the food home, I did notice that the beef broccoli didn't live up to its name. There was large broccoli pieces and maybe 4 pieces of beef that, put together, made up the size of a nickel. Also, the orange chicken portions were large in one plate & way smaller in the other plates. The food quality was good. Everyone ate quickly, so I had no time to take pics. Would I come back? For those days that you don't want to cook or you don't know what where to eat, just go panda express and you definitely figure a meal you'd want for lunch or dinner. The service I get on most panda are generally normal, by normal I mean casual like you fall in line and get the set of meal you want and that's pretty much all the interaction you get, not that I care to talk stories with them. However the Panda Express in Kaneohe gave us a really good customer service. Me and my husband went here to eat diner, just because we're both too tired to cook and we didn't want to go far from where we live, which is around the restaurant area. The lady that help us was a filipino lady, I seriously forgot to ask her name but she was,maybe in her early 40's, they normally close at 10 but surprisingly they were still open when we got there at around 10:15, so we just kinda tried if they'll still serve us so went in and the filipino lady greeted as warningly and was ready to help us. Most of the food were put away already but she told us that they'll make us a fresh one if we like so we ordered out favorite honey walnut shrimp. They she gave us free drink while we're waiting for our shrimp, and even 2 min the food was ready. All I'm saying is for all the PANDA EXPRESS! I'd rate them 3 for the good food but for KANEOHE PANADA EXPRESS I'd give them a 4 star for the good service and for our warm honey walnut shrimp.
