Chicken Curry Wrap really good but not enough to share

Kahuku shrimp salad in regular size

Looking for a refreshing lunch? We went to Aloha Salads after getting a gift card from christmas. Pricing is on the higher side, but hey that's what the gift card was for. Got the Kahuku Shrimp Salad in the regular size and a Steak Pita Wrap. It came out to almost $26 (so looking at about $13 each for a lunch in Kailua). The food was very fresh. The Kahuku Shrimp Salad came with beautiful and perfectly seasoned shrimp. The rest of the salad was good too. All of the toppings were in their own seperated corner, so I took the time to mix them all together. They give a lot of dressing, but luckily it was also in it's own container. The salad also came with two triangles of pita bread. The pita was not appetizing at all. Doughy, not heated, just like they took it out of the bag. Wish it was a little toasted. Think tortilla wrap that wasn't heated. The pita insides were hot, very full, and packed with ingredients like sundried tomatoes and fresh lettuce. But the pita wrapping itself was not toasted at all again. So the hot insides kind of made the whole wrap a bit goopy and soft. Probably will be sticking to salads. The other salads seemed sooo good! That day I was looking for a simple spinach salad and got just what I came for.

    Big Island Beet Salad

I love this place when you need fast healthy options, this is the place. They have lots of fruits, veggies, and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options...but also the carnivores are happy too! (There are shrimp , chicken, and beef options) One of my favorites is the beet mango salad. It's actually called The Big Island Beet Salad ( mixed greens, beets, mangoes , candied walnuts, goat cheese, cranberries, passion orange vinaigrette)(I add kale). I usually get salads from here, but I love their wraps...(and need to try their sandwiches and bowls) but mostly I love that you can customize or make your own. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. You can use their app, but usually I use DoorDash and get them for my work lunch!

    The Goddess Salad with steak

First time eating here, was hungry for a salad after a hike, they recommended adding their steak and it was really tasty! It was enough for two people, if you can eat a big salad and not share, this salad will fill the spot in your tummy!!

Regular size satay salad with chicken and shrimp

I had heard about this local chain many times since moving here and have had it bookmarked for months. They are open for takeout during the Covid-19 crisis, so it was a perfect time to try it out while on the East side of the island. This specific location is in the Times plaza in Kailua across the street from Whole Foods. It is in between the smoothie shop and the taco shop. Their menu isn't super big, which is nice because it could have been overwhelming. I was interested in a few of the options including the Satay salad, the cobb, and the caesar. I decided to go for the most unique, which was the Satay. You can choose either chicken or shrimp, but I asked for both. The proteins were served warm and cooked perfectly. The shrimp was surprisingly good. I liked the salad, but ended up eating it with the ranch dressing instead of the peanut satay dressing. It was just a bit too sweet for me. I was also very impressed by the freshness of all the veggies. My friend ordered the Greek style salad, which she loved.

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. Water is self-serve, and the setup feels more like a cafeteria than a traditional sit-down restaurant. That said, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes for a pleasant experience. I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, a laid-back environment, and friendly service. I'll definitely keep coming back.

I can't recall the names of the bowls that we got, but they were exactly what we were looking for. Incredibly generous portions at reasonable prices, and the highest quality of ingredients. I'm pretty sure they gave me an entire fish, and I ate the whole thing. The garlic shrimp that fantastic, and smothered in that buttery-garlic goodness. The star of the show were the accompaniments that brought the whole bowls together. The ube was flavorful and added a great texture. The kimchi was a nice add too, giving these dishes a bite to balance things out. And the sauces were nice, but not overpowering. Upon entering, we were instantly greeted. Everyone was super nice and you could feel their warmth radiating. This continued through the entire visit. I ordered the LK Signature Pancake plate with macadamia nut and vegetarian breakfast sausage. My wife ordered the same plate, but with lilikoi drizzle on the pancakes and Portuguese sausage. For our side, we ordered garlic tots. WOW. The food was incredible. Tots were perfectly crispy. Pancakes were massive, moist, and fluffy with a generous slathering of cream sauce and macadamia nuts. Seriously, there was no part of the pancakes that wasn't covered. It was an incredible sight to behold and even more incredible to eat! The eggs and sausage were also cooked to perfection. I told her I ordered and paid on the link and she asked for my name and said, "oh, it's here but it's to-go." She said that the QR code was wrong, it went to takeout orders, gave me the bag and said, "Oh well." I said that I wanted to dine in, she replied, "You can still eat here," but didn't offer to put my food on a plate or give me utensils (which weren't in the bag). The super gyro has so much yummy meat in it that the pita can hardly hold them, and the zucchini fries were crispy and not oily. It also comes with a couple really good tzatziki sauces. My wife really enjoyed the avgolemono (lemon and chicken) soup and greek salad. She was so pleased with the combo that she had to order an extra takeout combo for her friend to try.
