Always my go to take-out place when my husband picks up food. He complained about the service taking forever for 1 soup/1 salad at $28 with no one else in the store, the food was not up to past standards. The tomato soup was barely warm & didn't have the usual cheese at the bottom. The salad did not have dressing included, so that's totally disappointing. And no pita bread. Looking for a refreshing lunch? We went to Aloha Salads after getting a gift card from christmas. Pricing is on the higher side, but hey that's what the gift card was for. Got the Kahuku Shrimp Salad in the regular size and a Steak Pita Wrap. It came out to almost $26 (so looking at about $13 each for a lunch in Kailua). The food was very fresh. The Kahuku Shrimp Salad came with beautiful and perfectly seasoned shrimp. The rest of the salad was good too. All of the toppings were in their own seperated corner, so I took the time to mix them all together. They give a lot of dressing, but luckily it was also in it's own container. The salad also came with two triangles of pita bread. The pita was not appetizing at all. Doughy, not heated, just like they took it out of the bag. Wish it was a little toasted. Think tortilla wrap that wasn't heated. The pita insides were hot, very full, and packed with ingredients like sundried tomatoes and fresh lettuce. But the pita wrapping itself was not toasted at all again. So the hot insides kind of made the whole wrap a bit goopy and soft. Probably will be sticking to salads. The other salads seemed sooo good! I probably haven't been to an Aloha Salads since high school... 10 years ago. I remember going to the one at Kahala Mall a few times and liking it, but thinking I'm paying $15 for a salad and then not going anymore. Well I was in the mood for a salad. And I didn't want to make one myself. I was also in the area and remembered that I've seen the Aloha salads sign at the Kailua mall where times and lanikai juice are. The Parking lot was pretty crazy, but I guess tourists are back and it is summer, so it was expected. I got the ahi salad and an acai bowl for later. The cashier asked if I wanted the ahi seared or cooked through, which I thought was a nice preference inquiry. I get how some people don't like fruit on their salads, but I love fruit, so having mango and strawberries is a great touch. It also had avocado, and a nice vinaigrette. Delicious! The acai bowl was great as well. They pre freeze the acai in the cups to make it quickly and easily. Not a problem for me; it tastes exactly like acai that is freshly made. The fruits on top were plentiful. There was a lot of crew CNY granola and honey, too. Perfection! The service was quick and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that the cashier was so nice. I love this place when you need fast healthy options, this is the place. They have lots of fruits, veggies, and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options...but also the carnivores are happy too! (There are shrimp , chicken, and beef options) One of my favorites is the beet mango salad. It's actually called The Big Island Beet Salad ( mixed greens, beets, mangoes , candied walnuts, goat cheese, cranberries, passion orange vinaigrette)(I add kale). I usually get salads from here, but I love their wraps...(and need to try their sandwiches and bowls) but mostly I love that you can customize or make your own. Best salad place with so many choices on wraps, salads. I love the fresh fruits, caramelized nuts, green mixes of salads and yummy dressings! My favorite is the beet salad which I order shrimp, chicken, seared ahi or steak as the protein on the side. They are open for takeout during the Covid-19 crisis, so it was a perfect time to try it out while on the East side of the island. This specific location is in the Times plaza in Kailua across the street from Whole Foods. It is in between the smoothie shop and the taco shop. Their menu isn't super big, which is nice because it could have been overwhelming. I was interested in a few of the options including the Satay salad, the cobb, and the caesar. I decided to go for the most unique, which was the Satay. You can choose either chicken or shrimp, but I asked for both. The proteins were served warm and cooked perfectly. The shrimp was surprisingly good. I liked the salad, but ended up eating it with the ranch dressing instead of the peanut satay dressing. It was just a bit too sweet for me. I got the kale Salad the other day and there were 4 caterpillars in it, this was at the end of the day so I can only assume there were many caterpillars served that day. I had also ordered a tomato soup and it was left out of my bag (which probably happens every other time, check your bags!) I called and the employee said she could issue me a refund for the Salad. I get there and she said she threw all the kale away, great. Got my refund for the salad and almost was unable to get a refund for the soup, not sure why. I guess it was my mistake to go to a salad place in Kailua at about 6 pm. They were pretty busy but I thought my order was pretty straightforward; Kamuela Cobb with no Bleu cheese and a Caesar with steak. Both dressing on the side. Had to run another errand and when I got home; my Caesars had no steak. Very disappointed and upsetting when you are tired and hungry. I called the store and they left me on hold with no music so I thought they hung up on me. I called back and was on hold again for a couple of minutes. My options; jump back in my car and drive from Kaneohe to Kailua to pick up the steak or pick it up another day. Both choices really suck when you're tired and hungry. My advice is don't go when they are busy and check your order before you leave and if your order is right, then leave a tip. After years of avoiding Aloha Salads because my food orders were often wrong or incomplete compared to what I ordered and paid for, I thought i would give them another try. Again, my order was wrong, missing items I paid for! But most irritating is that their rewards program continues to be a scam. Since their prices are high, they promote a rewards program, but that's deceptive because the program doesn't work and is worthless....Aloha Salads is strictly a money-making business with no sense of ethics. The "Heartland" app that they use for rewards sends you in circles when logging in, so you're not able to login to scan your rewards points. The app has been unusable for 3 years now! Aloha Salads continues to give out the rewards receipt, knowing the app does not work and the rewards are worthless. The menu prices are on the high-side, so the company is making so much money that they don't care about making any improvements to their service or their scam rewards program. read more

The girl laughed and said well it's already chopped and proceeded to show me the big container with all the lettuce in it and I responded by asking if she could chop that...she clearly didn't understand. The lack of Customer Service and as we say in Hawaii "stank" attitude mad me so disgusted we left! Went Nextdoor to Subway and had WAYYY better Customer Service!! I like going this place for something healthy in Kailua. The thing I miss the most is they used to have a option for a 1/2 sandwich 1/2 salad combo, it was the perfect amount and perfect combination. I stopped coming here a while ago because it wasn't worth my money given the quality of the salad and the amount you get but I thought I would give them a shot today. Still disappointed that the quality hasn't improved. I got the Kahuku shrimp salad and the shrimp was good and dressing was also delicious but the spinach was not fresh so definitely not worth $10 for a small salad, about a third of which I threw away. I've always been impressed with how well trained and friendly the young staff is at the Kailua location. The only time I had a mixed customer service experience was the one time I tried to do curbside pickup because I had my two young kids in the car and the guy who brought the food out to the designated pickup spot out front seemed ticked off at having to bring the food to the car. We love their salads, wraps, grilled cheese and tomato bisque plus the pita bread with every order. I do wish the salads weren't so expensive but I know they are using fresh ingredients. read more
