People have been telling me about Manaow for years. Now I understand why. It's just really good Thai food for a really fair price. I came for lunch on a weekend. They have a regular menu, a lunch menu, and a "taste of thailand set menu". Most of the "set menus" were around $25 and they came with 2-3 dishes. Went with their Chiang Mai set, which came with Khao Soi with shrimp, crispy pork belly, sticky rice, and some pickled vegetables. I really appreciated that the flavors of these dishes were assertive, that we didn't really have to ask them about spice levels, and the balance on the dishes were perfect. I also ordered a "moo ping" (pork skewer) appetizer plate, which came with sticky rice and sauce. It's a delicious appetizer. Skewer was Sweet, tangy, and meaty and the sticky rice was chewy. I'd highly recommend it. I love that, with their set dishes, they give you the opportunity to taste a few items from various regions of Thailand for a really reasonable price. Will definitely be back very soon!

Food is great, authentic and consistent! Came in for their lunch sets this time and the portions are amazing for $25 you get a little bit of everything in a full size order. While service is friendly and great, docking a star for the wait... there's always a decent wait when dining in (pick-up is better!) but today in particular was a little too much. Walked in at 11:15 (they open at 11 and we were the first there), our food was served at 12:15pm.. 1hr is the longest wait we've had over at Manaow. Might be a random bad day but definitely took away from a "quick lunch" experience.

A cute cozy Thai gem in LBC. The place looks small on side but it was a decent size inside with a warm vibe to it. Nicely decorated. The ambiance is a bit loud on the night we dined it. They have a big selection of Thai dishes with your common comfort food. Being Hmong, I noticed a lot of familiar dishes. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and flavorful but small portions. Staff were a bit slow at times but still friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit tight but there's also street parking. I really liked the drink sampler teas, that was awesome and the drinks all tasted good, and we were able to pick one that we get a full serving. Overall, food and drinks were a bit pricy, but worth it! We will come back again if in the area.

FEAST FOR TWO! From the North and South Noodles to the (requested) North extra fried chicken wings, Succulent fried fish that was dry at all and the fried pork with two sauces while all washed down with a refreshing drink... This place was actually amazing! Tucked off in a tiny strip mall, my cousin told me I had to try this place and it didn't disappoint. My server as well let me know his recommendations as he started with the first "popular" but I had to shut that down for only authentic and not what everyone eats. I'm not a fan of sweet things so most of my meal I had opted for the fishy salty garlicky with a hint of spice! Definitely be coming back when im out this way a couple blocks from the beach.

Manaow is one of many Thai restaurants in Long Beach and has been around since 2014. The restaurant was started by the mother-daughter team and the interior decor is very vibrant. [Parking]: There's actually a designated parking lot for the restaurant which is a rarity in this part of Long Beach (Belmont Heights). [Menu]: Yelp's top 3 highlights are your classic Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Drunken Noodle. Our waiter also recommend Northern Style or Southern Style Curried Noodles. In addition, Manaow also offers a drink sampler for $10 (a miniature flight of Manaow's most popular beverages including Thai iced tea with cream, Thai iced coffee with cream, limeade, lemongrass tea, and tamarind juice). They also offer unique dishes like Artichoke Curry, Roasted Duck Curry, and Thai snacks & street food. *** Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao - stir-fried rice noodles, ground chicken, fresh garlic, bell peppers, jalapeno, fresh chili, fish sauce, and basil - mild spicy, $14): To my surprise, mild spicy had about 75% spicy level as Sriracha. The noodle tasted good and I cleaned up the entire plate. *** A solid 4.5-star on food and bump up to 5-star due to convenient parking.

From the food, ambiance, and service 10/10! Staff paid very great attention to us and made sure we had everything to enjoy our food. The crispy pork was great along with its side veggies. Recommend all the sets!!

Tried this place on a Tuesday evening and was seated quickly. The food took a bit of time to come out but it was super yummy. The herbed fish was flavorful and unique. The portions and prices were pretty standard. The menu had lots of options and the parking was decent considering it's near the beach and other establishments. The interior was really cute and spacious. I enjoyed the southern style curry noodles and my friend enjoyed the green curry. My only note is that the next day I was eating my leftovers and there was a piece of plastic in it. I don't know how it got in there but it was quite alarming. Hoping that was just a random fluke because this is a nice Thai spot.

This is not only possibly the best Thai place that I've tried outside of Thailand, but one of the best food joints I've been to in a long time. We got the grilled shrimp as an appetizer and it was a 100% the best shrimp that I ever had. Couldn't figure out what was different about it but it was from gods :) Everything in the set menu was also great - I got the Southern Thailand set, which at the time came with a mussels Panang Curry and the mussels were huge, I've never seen anything like that. The curry was great and so was the chicken. It also came with roti bread, I had no idea that Thai people make bread. The service was friendly and attentive, but maybe make sure you are not starving when you come here as it did take us about 20 mins to get seated and extra 30 mins to get our food - totally worth it though!

Came to Manaow for lunch and it did not disappoint. We tried the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and the Tom Yum noodle soup -- all three were super fresh and full of flavor. The Pad Thai had that perfect sweet-savory balance, the Pad See Ew had great wok flavor and tender noodles, and the Tom Yum noodle soup was honestly my favorite... spicy, bright, and comforting. Everything tasted clean and well-seasoned, nothing overly salty or oily, which I appreciate. Their lunch specials are also such a steal -- generous portions and really reasonable prices for the quality. Our server was friendly and attentive, and parking was easy since it's in the shopping center. Definitely one of those spots you walk out of thinking, "Okay... when am I coming back?" Fresh food, good prices, and overall a really solid Thai lunch spot. Highly recommend.

Our son's girlfriend recommended this great place. We ate there with some friends and we were all glad we did. It is located in a little shopping plaza and is very unassuming. We walked in and were greeted warmly. They prepared our table and we were seated right away. We noticed the modern and nice interior immediately. The spring rolls were recommended so we ordered those right away. Our friend was very intrigued by the menu so it took him quite a while to decide. Our waitress was very patient and answered all of our questions. My husband and our friend ordered Lemongrass Tea but I ordered the flight of 5 different drinks. I actually enjoyed each one but chose the Thai Iced Tea with cream to order. My husband also tasted some of the flight and ordered the Thai Iced Coffee. With the flight you also get to order a full drink. My husband and I are traveling so we split the Pineapple Fried Rice. Our friend who took awhile to order chose the Tofu Curry, his wife ordered the Tiger Steak. We all enjoyed our meals immensely! We decided to split the Mango Coconut Rice (I think that was the name). After our delicious meals it was the perfect end to the meal with plenty to share.

I really enjoy coming to Manaow -- the food is consistently flavorful, well-executed, and satisfying. I was a bit surprised to see some negative reviews, especially around "authenticity." As someone who is Thai and has brought visiting family here, we've all genuinely enjoyed the flavors. It's always interesting how people define what "authentic" Thai food should be. We've been a few times now, and some of our go-to dishes include the Moo Daad Diew (pork jerky with crispy rice) and Som Tum (papaya salad). On our most recent visit, we ordered the jerky, Tom Kha with Chicken, Mieng Pla Tod (herbed fried fish), Pork Belly with Fish Sauce, Kana Moo Krob (Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly), and Kao Phrik King with Chicken. Everything was delicious, but the standouts for me were the herbed fish and the Kana Moo Krob -- though I wouldn't have minded slightly larger cuts of pork belly. (Not a big deal.) My partner loves the lemongrass iced tea, while I usually go for oliang (Thai iced coffee without milk). They also offer a drink sampler, which is a nice touch if you want to try a few options. One unique feature I appreciate is the Archarn Chood -- set menus inspired by different regions of Thailand. The Bangkok set is solid, but I especially enjoy the Southern and Northern options (I'm a big fan of Hat Yai fried chicken). The ambiance strikes a great balance between modern and rustic, with thoughtful decor that nods to Thai agricultural life. My dad is from Ayutthaya, so seeing elements like traditional farming tools was a nice, personal touch. While places like Chiang Rai get a lot of attention (and deservedly so), Manaow feels more like a neighborhood gem -- less crowded, more relaxed, and consistently good. Friendly staff, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a spot I'm always happy to return to.

    Russ L.

Manaow Thai is a cozy gem. The place is small but has a warm vibe. The ambiance is a bit loud. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and flavorful but small portions. Although it was very busy, the service was quick and efficient.

How spicy is the curry for someone who cant handle spice?

It's not very spicy, but that's coming from a person who loves spice. The good thing is you can ask them to make it spicy or mild or no spice at all.

This place is listed today as having outdoor seating. Is it still available? If it is, is it covered or heated? How many people can sit there? / June 8, 2023

There is some outdoor seating. It's not heated & you're by the parking lot. The tables I saw were small, maybe for 2 - 4 people at most. There are much larger tables inside, including long benches for larger groups.

How do you order take out? They never answer the phone.

I'm certain they forget what a phone ring is, considering they are all on their cell phones..

    Do they deliver?

    Yes through Postmates.

This Crab Fried Rice was seasoned to perfection the crab was sweet, the fried eggs, green onions and fried onions kicked it up another notch this spicy fried rice was delicious and the best thing I ever eaten in 2026. 20/10 Vegetable Egg Rolls Three egg rolls served with a trio of sauces I asked for something spicy as well. Crunchy on the outside with a filling that was a bit fluffy with onions and veggies. I loved the crispy texture dipped into the sauces all soo different sweet, savory and spicy. 10/10 I ordered water and sprite as my drinks. Basil Fried Rice (made vegan) My daughter had Basil Fried Rice stir fried with onions and basil the seasoning was on point she said it was amazing I had a bite and it was delicious she wants to have this again on our next visit. 20/10 Birthday Dessert They were kind and gave me a desert for my birthday I believe it's called mango sticky rice it was very good and my first time eating that. 8/10 The vibe in this restaurant was chill our server was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed water napkins extra sauces and containers for my leftovers she gave me three sauces to enjoy with my food. . My daughter finished her meal and I had enough for lunch the next day. Overall we had an amazing time at SpicySugar Thai and I'm coming back for the Calamari, whole Fried Fish and Thai Papaya Salad. Our food was a 20/10 meal for sure. And I highly recommend that you try this restaurant. Just me Shawn C.

I was craving Thai food so I went for what was open on ubereats. Big mistake. The food was gross…read more Tasted nothing like what Thai food is supposed to taste like. I ordered Pad sae ew (spelling?) basil fried rice (which they forgot to send), green curry, and hot basil chicken. Let's start with the pad Sae ew. Ew is right. It completely lacked flavor. That sweet dark soy flavor that dish is supposed to have. This dish didn't have it. Not even close. Instead it was very bland and just tasted of salt. Like they just made plain rice noodles and drizzled some regular soy sauce on it. I've never had this dish taste so bad. I can't speak on the basil fried rice as I didn't receive it but I can't imagine it's very good based on the other 3 dishes I did receive. Green curry: that's gonna be a no from me dawg. Again, completely lacked flavor. All I tasted was a bit of salt. No sweetness, no spices. Plus it was a very very thin curry. Thinner than it should be. Hot basil chicken: no. Just no. Again. Completely lacking in flavor. All I could taste is salt. It's like they use just soy sauce to flavor everything with. That's it. I've eaten Thai food all my life and at times at some very sus places, however, I've never come across a restaurant where each dish is more disappointing than the next! It's pretty hard to eff up Thai food but here we are. I hope the owners take this as constructive criticism and change recipes/cooks/burn whole restaurant down. I spent over $70 on this BS and couldn't get more than 2 spoonfuls of each dish down before I threw it in the trash. Now it's past midnight and my big back is still hungry. Update: I contacted the owner per his response and haven't heard back yet. I don't know how they're going to make it right aside from a full refund. We'll see.

Delightful dinner and service! Casual spot but the food was top notch. Our server was sweet,…read morefriendly and attentive. We stuck to the basics for our meal, but I thought they were some of the best I've had! Our spring rolls were huge. I usually prefer a thinner, more acidic dipping sauce but their house sauce was actually perfect! I think it was a hoisin based creation. The entrees were well prepared and flavorful, with the perfect amount of spice. The pad thai was delicious, authentically drier versus saucy. Eaten with the curry it was a divine bite. The Panang curry sauce was addictive. Looking forward to trying some of the other menu items! We found a parking spot right in front of the restaurant, and it was a 30 minute but the hostess said it was no problem. There is also a lot nearby that I'm sure patrons of the many small businesses in this neighborhood use.

Checked out S T Noodle Bar today and had a good experience!…read more We were eating with an infant so high chair friendly was a must. We were greeted and helped right away and got a place in the restaurant that fit us well. We ordered the veggie spring roll, tofu soup, beef pad thai and tom yum. The veggie spring roll tasted fresh and the sauce added a nice layer of flavor. Off the bat, the portion sizes for the tom yum and pad thai were VERY generous (from my experiences with Thai restaurants). The pad thai stood out and was absolutely delicious! The service did great with helping us out and attending to our requests. The ambiance was relaxed, and where we sat in the back was cool because there was upbeat music playing loud enough to muffle the surrounding sounds but still soft enough to have conversation at our table without needing to raise our voice. Overall, I'm glad I gave S T Noodle Bar a try! I'd recommend it!
