The music was good, and not too loud or overbearing. Not so much a place for sunset viewing as you face the river with Newburyport on the other side and the view facing West is actually the bridge. Food and service were both great. I agree with one of the other reviews - the blue cheese burger was one of the best I have ever had and the ahi nachos appetizer was also very tasty. The wait for the table was reasonable and we grabbed a drink at the bar and were called faster than anticipated. Sat on the rail - looking at the river. Server was pretty busy, but did a fine job, and was friendly even though we could tell she was super busy. Very enjoyable date night.

The River House in Portsmouth, Tuna Striker Pub on Seabrook Harbor and lastly The Deck in Salisbury overlooking the Merrimack River and Newburyport Harbor! He chose The Deck in Salisbury and I agreed bc it's in a great location with beautiful views! When we got there their Parking Lot was full but they had additional parking across Rt.1 where they offered a golf cart shuttle to the Restaurant! We decided to just walk over! The Deck was very busy probably bc it's Father's Day! We were seated at a high top table, enjoyed the views and were amazed at the number of staff they had maneuvering around the tables, with precision I might add, delivering food to the tables! It was quite an impressive sight! Our Waitress was very pleasant, welcomed us and was attentive throughout our visit! There were six of us and we chose the following menu items...My Daughter in Law chose the "Caprese Salad w/grilled Chicken, the Grand Children had a Cheeseburger and the oldest a Lobster Roll, his favorite, which by the way can be ordered warm w/Butter MKT Price which our Waitress said was $48, it seems to be the going price right now in better restaurants! It was a decent portion of Lobster meat! My significant other and Son both opted for the fried Scallops , hers with Onion Rings, which were fried in a light batter and tasty, his with Fries! The Scallops were excellent, fried in a light batter and delicious! I chose the "Deck Blues Burger" which was one of the best Burgers I've ever had and grilled medium to perfection! The food all around was excellent and when you add the beautiful views it made for one of the most memorable Father's Day's! We highly recommend "The Deck" and it will become one of our favorite dining spots in the future! Food...5 Vibe....5 Staff...5

Mission Oak had the perfect spot for a large group that didn't require a separate room, yet still had a large table in a semi-private space that made you feel like part of the restaurant but also you could get up and walk around to chat. The service was wonderful. Our server, Francisco, adeptly handled our large group-- he was efficient, intuitive of our needs and kind. Danielle, the manager, made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. The food was wonderful...some favorites included the lobster rangoons, the clam chowder, and the haddock. Thank you to the entire staff for making our evening so special and memorable!

Focaccia and home fries were excellent. Avocado toast was delicious although our eggs were slightly harder than we like. My partner decided to go with the huevos rancheros next and asked for runny poached eggs - they were perfectly cooked. Pierogis were great. Fish tacos were fantastic. Waffles were perfect. The absolute highlight was their chili - from the way it was plated to its delicious taste. Our server Linda was a delight! Manager also stopped by and was super pleasant. Place was an old church and is somewhat dark. Still that didn't take away from the place. We will be back soon!

It is one of a handful of restaurants in Newburyport that continued strong (Park Lunch, the Grog, Thirsty Whale). It has a view of the Merrimac river and is next to the rail trail. The inside decor is classic and probably hasn't changed in decades, but it is comfortable and has that Oceanside charm. The service is always good. Christin has been our server a couple times and she is wonderful - funny, attentive and suggestions. You're always seated quickly. We sat on the outside, covered seating. The food is classic. We started with their clam chowder. That is excellent. The stuffed clams are probably the best in Newburyport. The iceberg wedge salad is amazing with generous blue cheese and bacon on a nice crispy wedge. Probably one of the best values in Newburyport. The onion rings are crispy and tasty. The fried clams are some of the best in the city. You can get a Budweiser for under six dollars. The prices are a good value with lots of good food. Don't expect fancy. But if you want to have an old school seafood meal, the Starboard Galley is the right place. If you want to grab a beer at there, old bar, enjoy it at a great price point.

I had the tropical grilled salmon. It had a nice fresh pineapple salsa that had a spicy kick to it. Salmon was nicely grilled and mashed potatoes were under seasoned. My dinner was ok but I wouldn't order it again. We did not like the fruit punch margarita. We will have to try something different next time. Our server was very attentive although she was going back and forth between inside and outside customers. This location has a nice outdoor patio with fire pits and heat lamps that we enjoyed. First impression was a clean and organized place with a nice outdoor seating area. I decided on the Fisherman's Plate!! Well fried and plenty of haddock, shrimp, whole belly clams and scallops. Served with fries AND onion rings! Also ordered the Fruit Punch Margarita to wash it all down. The seafood was under seasoned but the salt and pepper buried in the bucket of utensils and napkins quickly took care of that. The tartar sauce was more like a dill dip, not a hit for me. The coleslaw was also under seasoned and the dressing had no flavor, seemed like minimal effort was made with it. Perhaps my least favorite was the Margarita. The overall flavor was bitter and was almost undrinkable. Overall if you're looking for value, I.e. lots of food for a good price, you've found your spot!
