I'm not sure how many Chinese restaurants there are in this area, this is the one that I came up with when I searched. The restaurant itself feels like an establishment that has seen a few restaurants come and go. It's not extremely well lit or heated, not sure about the hot summer months. It's a mom and pop, not a chain restaurant. It's also not easily identifiable as a Chinese restaurant except for the sign above the door. We were looking for a place to meet up while on the road and this was it. The owner is very nice, it's a family run place, they work hard. I get the feeling that they need more business, I did see a lot of togo orders float out the door, but our party was the only sit down party while we were there. The food was good. There were 8 of us, so I ordered 3 appetizers for us to snack on while we waited for the rest of our food. We had the egg rolls, wontons and the pot stickers. Nothing lasted long, before we knew it, the food was on the table. I know I'm a spoiled San Francisco self proclaimed foodie/yelp critic, so take my review whatever way you want to based on that admission. I'll just say that based on where this place is located it's good enough and I can't be really picky. I'll also probably never be back, purely based on location. Nothing would stop me from returning. If for no other reason, to support a hard working restaurant owner. The food was good enough, not to be compared with high end San Francisco or Bay area fancy chinese food. That would be unfair. I had some general chicken, it was sticky and had a slight spice. One person in our party had War Wonton soup and thought it to be on the sweet side. The menu has a wide range of dishes, I'm sure if you're a local you must have a favorite dish, if I lived near this place I would try a bunch of different dishes. Our first time trying this place and the food is NOT good at all! The honey walnut shrimp I had ordered had hair underneath the shrimp between the lettuce and sauce they use. I called to let them know about it and they said exact words "what do you want me to do about it" in a rude way and when I said I would like a refund, the daughter of this place hung up the phone one me! The food was fire. I ordered the Szechuan Dinner for 2, chose Hot & Sour soup, egg rolls, Mongolian Beef and Chicken Chow Mein. I also ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken. While I waited the owner offered me his homemade peanuts. They was very good. He was so nice he carried my meal to the car. The ambiance was typical for a Chinese restaurant. I've been meaning to post this review but it's been slipping my mind. I live about 30 minutes from Patterson but it's the halfway point between my bf and I so we decided to take a chance and have dinner here one night. We were absolutely blown away with the amazing service we got and the food! Not only does it look appetizing but the orange chicken was my favorite over some fresh white rice, it was crunchy and on the sweeter side but had amazing flavor. The curry was delicious as well and we had to take out leftovers home because it was a good amount of food. Good local food, mom and Pop restaurant I enjoyed my meal. The cook had its own twist on walnut prawns look different but surprisingly good to the taste. Fried rice was good. First and last time I order from here. Unless you like lots of sauce and salt. Ordered chicken chow main, the chicken was uncooked and barely any noodles. the appetizer honey bbq pork was all soup. Kung p chicken again chicken under cooked. Mongolian combo - shrimp tasted bad, and the beef was rubbery. beef with tomato was horrible to taste. The rice tasted like a day old. I wish I could be less direct but I don't know what some of the cold meat" was just all tasted old, and the broth was too salty. I did get the potstickers and they were quite nice. I ate it last month and tried it again today. Tasted even better then last time. I got a fresh order of everthing. I live in the country and the orange chicken was still crispy when i got home. This is definitely an underrated gem in Patterson. We got lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and chow mein. Food was delicious, especially the lemon chicken. We went on New Year's Day with a group of 6 & ordered a lot of dishes; sizzling soup, combination fried rice, bbq pork chow mein, eggplant with beef, Mongolian beef, honey walnut prawns, banana something, calamari & duck something, pot stickers & I'm blanking on the others. My issue is the food was overly salted, too much sauce on the dishes with sauce & the shrimp was foul. I bit into one & immediately spit it into my napkin. Thinking maybe it's a one off I tried some from another dish and same thing. The calamari was fried in a crispy dark yellow looking batter, like remnants & crumbs of overly fried food. Also I don't know if they didn't expect anyone to come in that day so the service was odd. The soup, rice and noodles came out late after other dishes. We never expect a rush on the food since it's a larger party & a lot of food, it was just an odd way to serve, especially when those are the quick dishes. We ALWAYs have something go wrong with our delivery order from Mandarin House. The food is good it's just their service is terrible. Ordered 4 times from them. First time we never got the order. we ordered at 7. never received it. we had to call back. it arrived at 9:30pm. We did not even eat it. it sat outside all night. Second time we thought we would try again. They gave us the wrong order. Had to call back to resolve. Third tine we got someone else's order. Had to call back to get ours and throw away the wrong one. what a waste of food. I'm sure the other people weren't very happy. Tonight, we ordered 10 spring rolls and got three. Our food was tasty, our favorites were the egg rolls , pOrk chow menu, teriyaki chicken And walnut shrimp . The prices were great ! One of the better spots in Patterson for Chinese food if not the best, but that's not saying much. The Hot and sour soup kinda taste like tomato soup, but the rest of the food is pretty good. Was just served a rancid dish! Upon opening the carton clearly you could smell the meat was no good.
