The food never disappoints at Mandolas. This has also become a great dessert hangout for us. One of my favorite things to enjoy at Mandolas is the Lasagna or Spaghetti with Sausage or Meatballs or both...LOL. the marinara sauce is just just right. Not to much on the sweet or too much on the spices. Great blend of spices with the tomatoes sauce and paste. They never get heavy handed on the cheese but that's also not a bad thing in Italian right!!? My bride loves the ravioli with Alfredo sauce... the girl up front sometimes wants to charge extra for that.. don't understand her reasoning. Nonetheless, great plate. On Fridays though... they do have the shrimp scampi which is quite amazing. The lemony herb and spice mixture they add to the shrimp and angel hair pasta make you wanna come back on Saturday for their leftovers!!! On to dessert!!! I've now tried everything... maybe why I'm overweight... blah, whatever. Anything chocolate there is crazy good. Just a recommendation... order it when u get there and let it sit outside the display fridge so you can truly enjoy the chocolaty fudge layer as you should... cold doesn't taste as good. The Italian cream cake and the carrot cakes are delicious and leave you want to g more... eat half take the other half home and have it with some coffee at home... taste better thawed. Lol. They have over 6 spots reserved for takeout orders. WHY!!!??? If that person isnt invested in spending time in your establishment why give them so many slots to park in? Picked this up on the way home from work, pickup was smooth and quick from the restaurant. Got home opened it up and both the dishes are super dry, barely any sauce in the bolognese and only sauce on top of the chicken on the chicken parm. The cheesy garlic bread tasted old and was stale like it had been sitting out, definitely not fresh and shouldn't be selling stale food charging $10 for it. Mandolas in Cedar Park has been a great addition to North Austin since 2018. The food and service have always been great and consistent with other locations. I'm writing this review mainly due to the leadership of Mason Popp (GM). I brought two issues (kid gelato cups and gnocchi) to his attention which were both tracked to the root cause and resolution was applied immediately. I'm always an advocate of giving a business a chance to fix issues instead of just submitting public negative feedback. It's not often you get a great restaurant that is convenient, consistent and takes customer feedback seriously instead of dismissing it. Close to my home so when I really don't feel like cooking, Mandola's is always an option. The servers are quick and polite. They try to please by setting up different table configurations for both large and small groups. Just ask. I will say their desert counter can be addicting. The restaurant caters to everyone and especially to families. There is a playground that is always full. Therefore, the restaurant is fast-paced and a little noisy. If you are alone you can sit at a table or at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, too. I know it's Italian food, but not for a romantic time, just a good time with good food! read more

I saved this spot for a long time so that whenever I made the trek up to Cedar Park, I could eat here with my toddler. In comparison to the central location, this is more ideal for parents of young kids. The patio is clean, covered, and right next to the play area. The menu is the same. The margarita pizza is just as amazing. The red sauce and dough reminds me of real Italian pizza. Everything just tastes fresh- even the warm focaccia bread. I regret not taking more of the seasoned olive oil to go, because that stuff is like crack. You order at the counter and someone brings food to your table. They're so quick too! Ordered take out for the first time here and it was not good. The side Caesar salads I ordered were abysmal. The croutons were beyond stale the portion was incredibly small and just overall sad. The chicken parm was somehow worse. Look at it, it was translucent and rubbery--leathery and tough so weird for chicken; completely inedible. I really love the vibe of this big family restaurant! And I like how it has the vibe of a sit down restaurant but you seat and order yourself which makes everything a lot faster. I ordered the Lunette Modo Mio which was so delicious. The pasta was decently filled, the sauce was nice and creamy, and there was a good amount of peas and my. However, it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. For $15, I kind of expected more pasta. It did leave room so that you could try other dishes or get dessert, but in that case, you would think they would lower the price at least. Even so, the dish was really good. But I think the main star is the complimentary bread. I think they just bring it out whenever it's ready because we didn't get ours until near the end of our meal, but it was the highlight. Our bread was so warm, hefty without being dense, the middle was so soft while maintaining the crunchy crust, and I wish I could have had more. Truly some of the best bread I've had! read more

Tried this place out when I was hosting some family and this worked out perfectly! Just a heads up, this is the kind of place you order at the counter and then they bring you your food so it's pretty casual. I had the Lunette modo mio which was super yummy! My grandma had the Thursday special which she loved but everyone was very happy with their meal. The manager Justin heard it was all of our first times here and brought out a big slice of their coconut cake. He was seriously the sweetest! I can't say enough kind things about him. I am so grateful that I live right around the corner from Mandolas! It is such a fun neighborhood restaurant, and very kid friendly! We love their large playscape - my 4 year old and her friends always have a blast playing on it and running around in their large yard space. The outdoor space is always clean and well maintained. The service is always wonderful - waiters are very friendly! I'm impressed by how attentive they are despite how crowded it gets. If you go on a weekend at peak lunch or dinner hours, expect a wait & lots of crowds. I recommend going during happy hour on weekdays if you can - great deals! The food is top notch! I have ordered pizzas, pastas, and the chopped Italian salad. Pizzas are prepared fresh in their wood oven, and the chopped salad is so fresh and flavorful! Excellent blend of ingredients. I thought the pasta (I've gotten lasagna and spaghetti there in the past) was just alright - not great, not bad. I'd recommend going for pizza or the chopped salad if you're debating! I met a friend and her sons there for dinner and from beginning to end it was a lovely evening. You order and pay at the front and are given a number. There is outdoor seating near the playground. We sat outside to watch the kids play. Everyone gets a free basket of bread and oil and it is SO good! My son had the kids spaghetti and meatballs plate. It comes with a drink and a kids gelato (honestly the perfect small scoop and the kids don't even notice it's small). I went ahead and had the adult portion of the spaghetti and meatballs. It was Lady and the Tramp level yum. The owner (or manager) came up during our meal and gave us a free plate of cookies as it was our first time. It is so cool that it has a mini Italian pastry shop inside! I've been again recently and had the gnocchi which was also delish. The owner said that 95% of what they make is made in house. When you enter, you order at the counter. You will be given a number for your table so they can find you. You then fetch your drinks, napkins, etc., and find a table. I think we moved fairly quickly. Even so, once we were seated, the food was already ready and was being served very shortly after we were seated. The food was amazing! I had a chicken panini. Here you order your food and then sit, that should've been a red flag for my family. The food came out quickly, which for quality and well made food, shouldn't be the case. We had 3 separate items and all were very plain. This was my first visit and I tried the chicken Parmesan. It was served with fettuccine Alfredo, which I thought was odd. After reviewing the menu it could've been served with spaghetti and marinara as well, but unfortunately the person who took my order didn't ask me and I didn't notice. That was disappointing, especially since the cashier also looked to be a well dressed manager helping take orders. They serve Coke products here and gelato for dessert. Overall great food and an amazing atmosphere for families with young ones . The service is always great the staff is very friendly helpful and welcoming. It's loud but not obnoxious there are tons of places to sit inside or out and the food comes out fairly quickly. The only complaint I'd mention is that sometimes the Chicken Parmesan is tough and salty and the pasta isn't always saucy but sometimes a tad dry when it's served as a side dish . Otherwise I really like bringing my family hear on the weekends and letting my kids eat their favorite dish wether it be Chicken Alfredo ,Cheese Pizza or Cheese Ravioli getting them a gelato and then releasing them into the playground to blow off some energy. It's always a good time for everyone when we come here . Meanwhile the kids are playing I sit at a table drink a cold beer and watch them have fun while I relax on the patio . I would definitely recommend trying this place but will say the dinner rush on the weekends can be hectic if your with a big group so plan ahead . There is a daily special but my most favorite special is on Saturday when they have a braised short ribs , warning they do run out . My favorite appetizer is the fried zucchini and calamari which is great for sharing with big parties . I've eaten here a few times now and really enjoy the variety they offer as well as the inviting space (at least when we dined in). This location in particular is conveniently located in proximity so offers an option when I really need to satisfy my pasta cravings. The food overall doesn't stand out exceptionally, but it isn't bad and the portions aren't bad for the price so would rate this place 3.5 stars. I also like how they serve complimentary bread and oil even to go! During our most recent carry out order we got the chicken and eggplant parmesan as well as the Alfredo and the spaghetti with the added Meatballs. Everything tasted decent but what stood out was mamma's meatballs which were so flavorful and a decent portion so I would highly recommend these! I also was able to try their fried calamari and zucchini which was decently fried and flavorful and went well with the marinara. Overall, we were satisfied with the meal, and happy that the online ordering and pickup process was easy, which is at the bar when you enter on your right hand side. Decided to go out for dinner on Wednesday night and it was a happening place! At first I was not sure how I would feel about ordering and paying for dinner with no server, but I ended up liking the privacy! The mozzarella sticks came out first and were delightful. Free focaccia came out as well with some delicious olive oil dipping sauce. It was a kid friendly restaurant with adorable play area outside, too. Food came out very quickly and servers were kind. The chicken parmigiana was delicious! The eggplant parmigiana was not breaded, so I was a little disappointed. The fettuccine alfredo is amazing- the noodles are cooked perfectly and I loved every second of it! We also got a few cookies to go- they were bland but still completely eaten haha.
