I've eaten here a few times now and really enjoy the variety they offer as well as the inviting space (at least when we dined in). This location in particular is conveniently located in proximity so offers an option when I really need to satisfy my pasta cravings. The food overall doesn't stand out exceptionally, but it isn't bad and the portions aren't bad for the price so would rate this place 3.5 stars. I also like how they serve complimentary bread and oil even to go! During our most recent carry out order we got the chicken and eggplant parmesan as well as the Alfredo and the spaghetti with the added Meatballs. Everything tasted decent but what stood out was mamma's meatballs which were so flavorful and a decent portion so I would highly recommend these! I also was able to try their fried calamari and zucchini which was decently fried and flavorful and went well with the marinara. Overall, we were satisfied with the meal, and happy that the online ordering and pickup process was easy, which is at the bar when you enter on your right hand side. This place also serves gelato so will have to try it once we can dine out again! read more

Missing a star as a nod to my husband who cannot stand it when we go here and has since our last visit said he won't be joining us again. Lol This is my favorite place to take my kids when I need to just chill for a bit, chat with my Mom friends, and enjoy a drink. The food is just like something you'd whip up for the neighborhood kids. Nothing special, but not bad either. I enjoy the meatball panini, Mista side salad, and the bread w/oil! We've had lasagna, chicken parm, spaghetti and Italian sausage... the boys always get the pizza but sometimes do chicken tenders and it's all pretty good. Pro tip: if your kiddo likes to dip his tenders in Ranch or BBQ? Bring your own little container of it! The selling point here is that their play area for the kids is perfection. The playground gets a bit of sun but overall there is shade and turf to free play on and even a tiny little hill my boys love to roll race down. Bring a few balloons for volleying, take your shoes off, grab a glass of vino... and molto bene!! read more

When you enter, you order at the counter. You will be given a number for your table so they can find you. You then fetch your drinks, napkins, etc., and find a table. I think we moved fairly quickly. Even so, once we were seated, the food was already ready and was being served very shortly after we were seated. The food was amazing! I had a chicken panini. It was toasted perfectly and was definitely hot and fresh from the kitchen without any delay! Everyone I spoke with was very friendly and courteous. And, the restaurant and tables were kept clean. Overall great food and an amazing atmosphere for families with young ones . The service is always great the staff is very friendly helpful and welcoming. It's loud but not obnoxious there are tons of places to sit inside or out and the food comes out fairly quickly. The only complaint I'd mention is that sometimes the Chicken Parmesan is tough and salty and the pasta isn't always saucy but sometimes a tad dry when it's served as a side dish . Otherwise I really like bringing my family hear on the weekends and letting my kids eat their favorite dish wether it be Chicken Alfredo ,Cheese Pizza or Cheese Ravioli getting them a gelato and then releasing them into the playground to blow off some energy. It's always a good time for everyone when we come here . Meanwhile the kids are playing I sit at a table drink a cold beer and watch them have fun while I relax on the patio . I would definitely recommend trying this place but will say the dinner rush on the weekends can be hectic if your with a big group so plan ahead . There is a daily special but my most favorite special is on Saturday when they have a braised short ribs , warning they do run out . My favorite appetizer is the fried zucchini and calamari which is great for sharing with big parties . They have this store in Florida also. Nice environment, you can choose between order and wait, or bar and be served, you can have ice cream and desserts or buy some Italian products. Lentil soup should be renamed to black pepper soup. That was the only flavor. Food quality is not what it used to be. Noodles were hot but meatballs were not even warm. All employees communicated in Spanish. Not the same Italian flavor or atmosphere. It was very disappointing. read more

Unfortunately, despite reading mainly good reviews this Italian kitchen is subpar for food quality and taste. It's most definitely family friendly restaurant. Here you order your food and then sit, that should've been a red flag for my family. The food came out quickly, which for quality and well made food, shouldn't be the case. We had 3 separate items and all were very plain. This was my first visit and I tried the chicken Parmesan. It was served with fettuccine Alfredo, which I thought was odd. After reviewing the menu it could've been served with spaghetti and marinara as well, but unfortunately the person who took my order didn't ask me and I didn't notice. That was disappointing, especially since the cashier also looked to be a well dressed manager helping take orders. They serve Coke products here and gelato for dessert. Decided to go out for dinner on Wednesday night and it was a happening place! At first I was not sure how I would feel about ordering and paying for dinner with no server, but I ended up liking the privacy! The mozzarella sticks came out first and were delightful. Free focaccia came out as well with some delicious olive oil dipping sauce. It was a kid friendly restaurant with adorable play area outside, too. Food came out very quickly and servers were kind. The chicken parmigiana was delicious! The eggplant parmigiana was not breaded, so I was a little disappointed. The fettuccine alfredo is amazing- the noodles are cooked perfectly and I loved every second of it! We also got a few cookies to go- they were bland but still completely eaten haha. First time at this location, but have visited the Triangle location multiple times. I usually order the pollo ala griglia and should have stuck with that. I had been craving pasta so I ordered the lunch portion of the spaghetti with meatballs. It came with a soup or salad as a starter so I went with the wedding soup. The soup was good, not amazing or even noteworthy, just...you know, soup. There was plenty of chicken and bits of spinach, but it was a bit salty and some of the chicken bits looked like the little squares that come in a Campbell a soup can. Other pieces of chicken looked like chicken breast that was pulled from a real chicken. The lunch portion of pasta is small, just to warn those with a normal appetite. I, thankfully, have a fairly small appetite and it was plenty for me (I even had a few strands of spaghetti left over, but think child sized portions. Overall, the food was fine, but nothing I'd rush back out for. I do still like the chicken and veg, so maybe I'd come back for that. There is a great playground outside... it is fenced in but there is an open gate (like just nothing) to the road which is a bit terrifying. I've been here several times and it is one of my favorite places to take the family. Order at the counter and seat yourself. They will bring out focaccia bread with olive oil to dip it in. I always look forward to the bread. I always have the Italian chopped salad which is super tasty with lots of different ingredients added in. The pastas are nice and light. Love the eggplant parm. It has thick slices of eggplant vs some restaurants which the eggplant is thinly sliced so feels bready. Service was warm and friendly. We come here every so often, we both craved some Italian food today. It seemed to be our lucky day we waited in line and Burt helped is out. He introduced me to my new favorite drink (Peach Bellini mixed with their Sangria) I highly recommend it. We got our usual zucchini fritti, chicken fettuccine, and Spaghettini Ortolano. Being a long time Mandolas at the Triangle fan, I love that this location is closer to me. The offer the same gelato and baked goods that the triangle location offers, just without the deli or other shop goods. A great vegetarian selection is the eggplant parmigiana. It's perfect as far as texture and the side of pasta with marinara is a nice hearty touch. So you definitely don't feel like you're missing out on anything by choosing this meatless option. The complimentary seasoned olive and focaccia bread is nice treat while you're waiting for your orders to arrive. Not the best place for large groups, but I've seen them accommodate. read more

Were reluctant to sell us a kids meal--despite the fact that we have three young children. 3. Gelato sizes have shrunk...effectively a large spoonful. And prices have soared. In particular, we love going on Friday's sitting at the bar to enjoy their special dishes that are exclusively offered including Shrimp Scampi. Mandola's Italian Market is always a great dining experience for a couple, family, or group reminiscent of being in your Italian grandparent's kitchen with the best food, wine, drink, and deserts with an Italian Espresso to finish. The menu contains everyone's favorites and I've always loved every dish I had. We always want to try something different and sometimes we end up ordering for the table and sharing. Normally have a good experience here. Tonight, a Saturday, we walk in at 9:10 pm. We normally sit at the bar, and the regular bartender is great. We see someone behind the bar wrapping the taps and I'm guessing a manager walks over and says bar is closed. I asked what time the normally close the bar on Saturday and he replied 10:00pm. Ok, it's only 9:10pm I replied. His rude response was they were not busy enough so we closed the bar. So you can pick and choose when you close the bar..."Yep" he replied. Good, fast casual Italian food. Is this the best Italian food I've ever had? No. And this place isn't fancy either, but the food hits the spot if you're in the mood for Italian and want it fast. The bread they give you is amazing. We also ordered the garlic bread with mozzarella, and it was good as well. For my meal I had the gnocchi with meat sauce. The Bolognese sauce wasn't my favorite, but the gnocchi itself was good. They also have a bakery and sell gelato. I wasn't a fan of the Anginetti (lemon cookies), but the Snickerdoodles were tasty. And the Stracciatella gelato (chocolate chip) is always my favorite! read more
