Great customer service!!! 5 stars based on just that. We arrived early and the kitchen manager, Holly, was very inviting and said not to worry. She told us that as soon as she got the kitchen going she would take our order. True to her word she had our drinks brought out to us and had our pizza out to us in about 15 minutes. The pizza was delicious as we had heard others tell us. The sitting area in the back was ideal on a nice October day with clear skies and low humidity. Great experience. I had dinner here tonight and I've been here multiple times before however this experience was not like previous ones. We ordered our pizza and after placing our order, I see the table next to me recieved a kids size pineapple bacon ham pizza. I asked our waitress if I could order a kids create your own pizza with only THREE (2 cheeses and honey drizzle) toppings from one of their specialty pizzas. I did not ask for the speciality pizza in a kids size, just a kids make your own with 2 extra cheeses and a honey drizzle, I said I would pay extra. She came back to me and said they only do that for lunch and it's too complicated to do kids pizzas for dinner. No problem. Until I proceeded to see 3 create your own kids pizzas with MANY toppings (that were way more than just the 2 cheeses I wanted) be served over the next hour I was sitting there. And as I was walking out one of the employees also got a kids size pizza. I have no problem with there being not a kids size create your own pizza option for dinner, but being told they couldn't do it because they didn't feel like it in that moment and then see all those people get it after is extremely annoying. And it is NOT the servers fault, she was incredible and so kind and only doing what the kitchen told her, absolutely no blame to her, all the kitchen. If I had asked 2 minutes earlier would they have felt like it then and I would have been able to eat pizza then? Be consistent and if you offer it to some, offer it to all. So I'm honestly hesitant to come back after this because it was so weird that they only serve some menu item based off of the chefs vibes are right in that moment, what kitchen runs like that? Met up with a brunch of friends for a bite. We had a big group and the experience was good. Sometimes with a big group, things go south, but not in this case. Service was prompt and our waiter did a good job of making sure that our group was taken care of. He checked on us frequently and made sure that everything was just right. The pizza is pretty huge. I had the Pigs on a wing with pepperoni. I was happy with my selection but the pizza could have used a few more minutes, just to crisp up the bottom. Visited Mandolino's pizza last weekend for lunch. Originally we were headed somewhere else but stumbled across this place. What a blessing that was because we have a new favorite place for pizza! The atmosphere was cozy. Great tables that line the windows looking out on main st in busy downtown Davison. The side of the building was lined with more booths and tables. The staff was SO friendly and extremely helpful. This was our first time visiting and our waiter made sure to show us the ropes. Not to mention, they were extremely understaffed, but that didn't stop him from taking his time to answer questions about the menu or recommended his favorites. He was super apologetic because he thought service was lacking. He was taking care of, what appeared to be, the entire dining room by himself. We didn't notice. He was fantastic! The pizza was outstanding. We got just a plain cheese pie, fried mozzarella sticks and giant garlic knots. The crust was perfect consistency, the sauce was fresh and the cheese was so flavorful and delicious. The price was higher than I normally like to pay but the quality was worth it. Came here for my birthday with 4 friends. Waiter was so sweet however the food came out for each person 35 mins from each other. My friend got a salad with grilled chicken first which looked good but soaked in dressing... 35 mins later my friends pene came out (looked small), then my friends personal pizza came out and then mine (the birthday girls) last. We were there from 6-8:30 and my food came out in the last 15 mins so I had to take it to go! It was weird we all watched eachother eat. The waiter was so apologetic. I went inside and asked the waiter if they would be able to make a salad and comp it and he got the manager to do so. She actually came out at the end and was so sorry. We didn't make it a huge deal or anything. At the end she gave me a $25 dollar gift card to come back. Which I thought was nice that she tried to make a redemption. However the next day I (today) I went to eat the salad that they comped and omg !! The burrata on it was BAD ! it was so sour and smelt horrible! I had the throw it out. My boyfriend eats anything and he tired it and he said it was definitely bad. Safe to say I won't be back. My brother-in-law and his wife, treated Linda and me to dinner at this new pizza restaurant in Davidson earlier this evening. It is appropriately close to Ben and Jerry's, but I was strong. Cliff and I ordered craft beers. I had a Catawba White Zombie - I am sure that there is a story behind the name. Linda and I shared a seasonal caprese with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and Sicilian sea salt as an appetizer and a Before the Storm pizza with ricotta, Genoa salami, artichoke, Calabrian chilies, and basil. Both were quite tasty. The setting was cozy with various mandolins on the wall, and the staff was personable. We took half of our pizza home in a to-go box. We will definitely return. read more

Best pizza I've had in a long time! The staff was super friendly and helpful. Everyone was wearing masks and keeping everything sanitized. Ventured out in the rain for a girls night to Mandilino's. For pizzas, WOW, it is pricey. Yes, they use high quality ingredients, but wow. I was surprised. They serve half sheet pan style artisan pizzas. The Tupelo Honey is very good, but it could use some chicken on it. It would've been much better with a protein. The arugula salad was a good size and the dressing was very good, but I was expecting more protein. The draft beer menu was small which was a little surprising given the menu is predominantly pizza. I decided to save my calories for a second slice and skipped on a beer. For a Thursday night this place was PACKED. We had to wait 25 minutes to dine and unfortunately because of the rain, we were waiting cramped behind the hostess stand. Busy nights happen, but space is limited. Best pizza that I have had in a long time! This is a thicker style buttery pan pizza crust with high end ingredients. The arugula salad was amazing and had just the right balance of goat cheese, onions, and honey. Bottles of wine or Prosecco are available and my only complaint is that they only have a few beers on tap. Typically it is hard to get in as seating is limited, so go on a week night to give it a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more

Mandolinos is perfectly situated in one of the most scenic spots in the prettiest town... grab a sidewalk table out front (or a private tucked away table out back under the fig tree and string lights) and people watch with a bottle of chilled Sauvignon Blanc. The salads, pizzas, and pastas are delicious - rectangular "Nonna style" pies with a crispy edge crust and soft inside... gourmet toppings and combinations of ingredients like the Pulled Pork Bbq pizza and my favorite for Gorgonzola lovers the Tupelo Honey Pie. I think by now I've had every pie on the menu - not a bad one in the bunch. Kids can eat a great pasta dish too for $6 which offsets the slightly high prices for the pies ($28). We all love this neighborhood gem and although their service is suffering a little like everyone else these days: we keep coming back to support local. Severely disappointed! We typically don't splurge on pizza, but we made an exception tonight, because we were craving Mandolinos. About 1/3 of the pie was burnt to a crisp. I was trying to upload a pic but it wouldn't let me. We all agreed the Hungry Howies we got for the kids was a better pie and about 1/4 of the price. PERFECT PLACE!!! Though the salad was doused in vinaigrette, everything was perfect. The garlic knots taste like all garlic knots, but they were unique in size so you could tell they were made in the kitchen. Awesome pizza! I remembered Grandma pizzas being thicker, closer to a Detroit style, but this was lighter thinner and crispier. The toppings are all high quality. The red sauce has nice garlic flavors that pinch through the tomatoes. Cheese is nice and gooey and expensive tasting. Definitely will be back! Ok so this spot is ok. Pizza is Grandma style and the crust, sauce and cheese are very good quality as are the toppings available. One negative would be the dressing saturated salad. Had the arugula the night we were there and it was drenched in dressing which more than drowned out the flavor of the arugula. Also, not sure why but no wine or beer was available. Not sure if this was a licensing issue or what but for an established business this was not good. The server was great and very attentive. I was there alone for my first time. I inquired about the size of the pizza because I knew I alone couldn't finish a huge pizza. I order a pizza and while I'm waiting for my meal, I hear the waitress tell another patron about the lunch special. I wish I had heard about that. $10.99 verses $30 with a tip, that's a big difference. The pizza was good but again, it was huge so even with leftovers, I still couldn't finish it. I just hate to waste money when it possibly could have been avoided. Next time I'm in Davidson, I may even consider eating there again. We sat for literally 1hour and 15min patiently waiting for our pizza to be ready. Many other tables that arrived after us were served and we were kept waiting. We found ourselves in Davidson around dinner time and saw people carrying pizza boxes from Mandolino's- the smell alone sealed the deal and we knew we wanted to eat there. We sat inside, although they do have outdoor seating. We had the arugula salad and a red pizza with pepperoni, red noon and mushrooms. The arugula salad was amazing. Seems silly to write about a salad, but I ate the entire thing. It's huge and I'm pretty sure meant to be shared. It has walnuts and goat cheese and onions- I will definitely be ordering it again. The pizza was phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about it. The sauce was perfectly sweet and the crust wasn't too thick and wasn't too thin. My favorite is very simple...red pizza with spicy pepperoni - the kind of pepperoni that should be on every pizza (thick, curled up crispy edges). I love the crust flavor & how light it is in the middle. Sometimes they overdo it on the parmesan or salt or whatever it is they sprinkle on top.
