My most recent visit was within the past year for a friend's surprise birthday dinner. There were 8 of us and within a reservation it was no problem finding a space for us. The service/staff - 10 stars from the moment we walked in. It was like walking into a friends house for a dinner party/gathering. So friendly and welcoming, like they had been looking forward to us arriving. We were brought to our table in the one of the side rooms furthest from the kitchen, main room. There were a few other tables in the same room, but it didn't feel crowded. Great menu, not a large selection, however, there is definitely something for everyone. I selected the chicken and dumplings. It wasn't like the traditional chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were petite and so delicious! The sour dough bread made fresh daily....get it if you can. You may want to call ahead and preorder for your dinner. They run out fast. Our server was very engaging, patiently explained the dishes and offerings. I have been here for lunch and for dinner, and this restaurant simply does everything SO well. There are not lots of choices, but every dish is executed perfectly. The staff is pleasant and helpful both at the counter for lunch and the table wait staff for dinner. The wine list is small but has good variety and excellent quality. Top to bottom excellence. I'm surprised and delighted by a perfect evening, ambiance, server, and the food! My dining companion is Gluten free and even she could eat almost the entire menu. Steak frites, perfect prepared tempura dilly beans with homemade ranch almost made my head spin off they were so good (but sounded odd, ordered anyway). Our breakfast was amazing start to finish! We each got something different and can't decide which is best. The egg sandwich is delicious on a biscuit, bagel, or English muffin. First timer here at the Bistro. Apparently, it's the only breakfast place around the Yarmouth area. Incredible baked goods and brunch on Sunday. I had the bacon/apple/cheddar omelette and the side of mini baked potato was incredible but the omelette was a bit on the dry side...more cheese or a sauce may have helped. Two experiences here. First time, ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich. Sandwich came just egg and cheese, no meat even though I was charged $2 for bacon. I filled out the review they directly sent me and no one replied, but hey stuff happens. Then yesterday, a Saturday, their Google and Yelp said open 7-12 so I drive all the way there to find a big closed sign on the door. Y'all, it's 2022, it takes less than 5 minutes to update your hours on Google and Yelp. And saves customers time and frustration. Hi guys. I absolutely love this restaurant. The ambience is perfect. The style of tables and chairs, the lights, everything just screams "rustic farmhouse!" I think that the people who complain about the prices of food are failing to understand where the food comes from. Yes, the menu items may be a little pricy for some but if you want cheap food then go to Burger King. The food is all derived from local sources and hand made. There are no ground up bits of breaded chicken here! I think this entire place is an absolute dream for writers, daters, artists, or anyone who wants a quiet yet inspiring atmosphere. As for the service, the people who work here are probably nicer than you. At least they understand the stress of running this amazing business. The food here is delicious, wholesome, and authentic. The seating is indoor and outdoor, and personally I enjoy both. There are stools and chairs, and a vary of number of seats around tables. Overall, I believe that this should be anyone's go to dating spot, writing area, thinking restaurant, or an eating area. Oh, also they serve a multitude of drinks and food items; for breakfast lunch a dinner. A random little gem for breakfast and lunch! I drove by this place 503825 times thinking it was just a cute little gourmet market that I didn't really need anything from. BUT THEN ONE DAY I decided to go in. They actually have a significantly smaller market area than I had imagined! Roar. So I perused for a few minutes, not finding anything that interested me, and went up to the counter to check out the coffee and breakfast menus. I decided on a sausage, egg and cheddar bfast sammy with tomato on a homemade English. I paid my monies and waited for a few minutes for my sammich to be made. Uh duhhhhhhhhhhh. Drool. Eyes roll back into head. First off, the homemade English muffin makes the whole thing. It is muffy muffin perfection. And it was obvious to my spidey sight and taste senses that ALL of the ingredients between the buns were very obviously high quality, which makes me slightly more okay with the amount of fat and calories I was consuming. Ooops. Meh! #worthit I'm actually sitting in their parking lot right now about to order said bfast sandwich again two weeks later. My tumtum is growling with excitement at the journey our tastebuds are about the embark on. Thinking I may also try something sweet this time too! Everything we ordered was good but they ran out of certain items which narrowed their menu down, including some alcohol and wine choices. Service was great but a good restaurant has to be prepared to deliver what is offered, especially on a very restricted menu. Also, prices are astoundingly high. Customers have a right to expect well prepared dishes at a reasonable price. There was also the noise factor some "sound boards" in this old bare bones building would be welcome so you could enjoy conversation with your dining partners. They need to work on this business they need to offer more for the big bucks, it doesn't just happen because you're organic and have good artisanal bread. Presentation of the food was nice, portions smaller than I like, but all in all it was good. This was my second time visiting. The Cumberland Food Company is a quaint cafe. Situated in an old home, it has all the character of colonial period with updated clean lines. There is character in the ambiance with an exposed brick chimney that is open to the room. The tables are made from old doors covered in glass. It is light and airy, with a comfortable glow. This quiet spot is perfect to sit with a book or newspaper, whiling away the hours of the afternoon. Outside on their stone patio, round metal tables and chairs are situated under the broad canopies of horse chestnuts and other varietals. Along the wall is the menu written in chalk. From salads, to soups, to sandwiches, their menu has something for everyone. Coffee is always ready and hot on a sideboard along the wall, and it is a local roaster, Coffee by Design. Last I was there I had a steak salad. It was simple and the proportion just right. It consisted of tender and medium rare steak sliced into silver dollar sized slivers. These medallions of beef rested atop a salad of greens and peas, in a house made ranch dressing, with mustard seed mixed in. The pork pate sandwich was phenomenal. Pork pate, fried in pan, with cheese, and jam on a biscuit was exquisite. The staff was friendly and polite. This is counter service, so don't expect wait staff, but they will bring the food to you when it is ready. I've been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. read more

So I have been going to Dara Bistro, when it was called Cumberland Food Company. The food has always been great from breakfast to lunches and their amazing baked goods (Sourdough Croissants).. So now that they have recently started doing dinner, I have been meaning to try it. My girlfriends and I had arranged to do a dinner out on Sunday night and had booked a different restaurant, when we got there it was closed. Being a Sunday night, there aren't too many restaurants open in the Falmouth area. I thought let me see if Dara Bistro is opened, I called and spoke to Kelsey, the owner and I asked is they had a table, she said they were full, but could try and pull something to together for us. When we got there, it was a short wait, while they were setting up the table. The food and wine was delicious. It is a small menu, which I like, with a good variety. We tried various menu items, the butternut squash salad, the butternut and chestnut soup (both amazing). Then for mains we had the monkfish which was served with vegetables, I had the butternut squash lasagna (spectacular, I hope they keep that on the menu for the fall). My friend had the bistro steak with oxtail ravioli, which she said was amazing. For dessert we shared the apple cake with cinnamon icecream. Do yourself a favor and try their dinner option.
