I absolutely adore Selyna! She is hands down the best stylist I've ever had. A visit to the salon truly is a great relaxing experience. Selyna is extremely knowledgeable and one of the best hair stylists. I always leave the salon with a huge smile on my face, feeling amazing and refreshed! My only issue with the salon is the parking situation. There is no dedicated parking spots/lot and they're in a busy area so it takes awhile to find parking/usually have a bit of a walk whether a week day or weekend come earlier than you think to find your spot. I love everyone at Mane & Co. and trust every talented person behind my chair, or above the (massage and facial) table. It's really great to find such an amazing and reliable team, but when that team is made up of genuinely wonderful people, it's truly a rare and beautiful gift to be in their presence. I love them so much, I see them at least once every two weeks, and sometimes more frequently when I get my muscles and skin in tune at Spa Maya. Correction/update to previous post: While looking for hair salons, I saw this business and started scrolling through the photos posted by business owner and I was SOLD so voluntarily submitted an online request to set up a hair appointment. *Heads up to those who may book online* As you see in my previous post, the business owner, does have the option to share what we send them online when requesting an appointment. I'm just glad i didn't share any more than that... you would find me hiding in a hole. I asked for roots, toner, brow wax - this was my primary concern. I also mentioned wanting a consultation for future plans. After talking with Felicity, she scheduled, then stated that it would be only for a consultation. Puzzled, I made several attempts to explain that my roots still needed retouched; the consult for vivid colored hair was not my primary concern. She made it seem as there was no room to budge. No room for negotiations, no opportunities offered to discuss my concerns with my stylist or anyone. Again, I had no idea I was being schedule with the owner. I let Felicity know that I was uncomfortable with this plan and mentioned that I was still wanting these services completed prior to the weekend; she was unable to guarantee that my requests would be done as this was only scheduled for a free consultation. (I did ask to speak with someone about this issue, but everyone was busy so I just kept the appointment and told her I will call her back asap). Based on that conversation, I certainly could not assume that my appointment would include both free consult and what was initially requested, nor could I assume that i was booked for a time slot that would allow this work to be done. Hands down, that would've changed everything. After scheduling, I was a bit thrown off when I then received a text that included the cancellation/no show fee policy, which also wasn't explained over the phone. Once I received that text, I immediately called back to cancel. Let me be clear, since it was mentioned that my initial review was made due to not liking their policies. I have friends who talk discuss the pros/cons of cancellation/no show fees, especially in the world of cosmetology, I 100% support it. However, I rather not end up in a position to cancel and pay, if I'm only scheduled for a free consultation. I felt that a good deed was done when I called, less than an hour after scheduling, to cancel. Felicity was agreeable and seemed to understand where I was coming from and agreed that I would also be able to get what I want done as a walk-in as well.. hence the "to be continued" portion of my initial review. Yes, intentions were to pop by as a walk-in, pay for services, to then update my review. Alix, No one knows what anyone is going through... I have yet to make time to get my hair done and would've loved to support this business, but I will never apologize for sharing my experience or my opinion as I try to always keep an open mind and provide honest feedback for my fellow Yelpers. The lady at the front desk was so very rude. My daughter asked for chunk highlights in the front of her hair and her hair did not even seem to have but one or two strands of highlights. For a cut, conditioning, and what she asked for was the three chunk highlights in front, she paid $240. She left with her hair wet because it would have costed an additional $89 to style her hair. I asked for a hair cut and color. My color was beautiful. The cut on the side and bottom of my hair was great but nothing was taken off the top. After the disrespect they showed to my daughter when she we went back two hours after we got our hair done to let them know how distraught she felt, I did not even want to bring up how disappointed I was. So the next day my daughter cut my hair. After spending $140, and having to get it cut the next day at home, I will never return. My daughter said that integrity is a very important characteristic to have and to achieve with patrons. The people we delt with did not have integrity. They told my daughter her hair looked like the photo she brought in and she'd see the chunks when her hair dried. The front desk lady told my daughter when we returned a couple of hours afterwards that her hair did not look like she wanted because she didn't get a blowout. Mind you blowouts range from $69-$89. Paying the price she did, the least they could have done was style her hair. Such a shame. Please look at the photos in these reviews. The photos that look like photographers have taken make it seem like these are not transparent pictures of what stylists do. The pictures that look realistic show a diffrent story. If you read the people that rate low on the reviews, read the owners response. They are truly unkind and just put a bad taste in my mouth. I would be so much more sympathetic to patroons of years and settle things so differently. I just know this is not a place of kind people that care about their clients feelings. read more

Ann-Marie is the best! I am incredibly picky about my hair, after having some pretty bad experiences in the past (haven't we ALL had those?!). After moving to San Antonio, I spent a YEAR following several local stylists on Instagram before finally deciding on Ann-Marie. I chose her because, while she does a fantastic job on the long, wavy balayage that everyone seems to want right now, she also shows off her talents with short hair cuts, interesting color schemes, color correction, etc. She is a woman of many talents, not a one-trick pony. In the time that I've been using her, she has fixed my lighter-than-I-wanted hair color and brought it back to its natural brown, while also masking the many grays I've accumulated. She has also taken me from medium-length to shoulder-length to a mid-length bob. Back in April I made an appointment here to have my hair colored chocolate brown. I attached the inspo pictures and what I left with. I was also asked if I wanted a "free complimentary haircut" at the end of this and I was like sure why not since she bleached my hair and it was now damaged...she then ignored me and didn't cut it. This is a great salon. Danielle took care of my hair needs, walked me through exactly what she was doing every step of the way, and I left with exactly what I wanted and with great refreshed hair. It's really hard to find a salon (I feel like it's entering a serious relationship) so I'm glad that this salon can get me in when I need it and take care of my hair as I request. Would not recommend coming here. I booked a cut & blowout for long hair at the broadway downtown location for $125 with Alix, who is also the owner. I was told day of (two hours prior) that they changed my appointment location to the north star mall salon. Then when I arrived, they did not see me for almost 30 minutes and they changed my hairstylist to Audrey without informing me at any point. I was the only customer in the whole salon which now I understand why. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable the entire duration of my haircut. The worst part of all of this is at checkout they increased the price $75 so a $125 haircut & blowout turned to now a $200 haircut & blowout. Absolutely ridiculous. I also left a $20 tip for Audrey. After reviewing the screenshot I took for the confirmation appointment I realized the major price discrepancies that made no sense. The differences between lengths are approximately $20-$30...not $75. I accurately booked a haircut & blowout for long hair & anticipated a certain price at a specific location with Alix and got none of that. So I called the following morning & spoke to April who attempted to fix this issue but Alix did not want to originally refund me anything because I had "long and thick hair", which I have extremely thin long hair & Alix never handled my hair, so she made up a reason to not want to refund me. Obviously frustrated by all of this, I spoke to Alix directly who conveniently made excuses for price differences at her new location (that I wasn't booking at) and the experience of the hairstylist. Never was I made aware of pricing changes and there was a flat rate on the confirmation & booking info; however, Alix tried to tell me it says $125 & up, which it in fact did not. After many attempts to get Alix to understand where I am coming from she agreed to refund me only $50. I will not come back to this salon nor will I suggest this place to anyone. This is completely unprofessional to lie, provide misleading prices, and false advertising. I've always supported local businesses and never leave negative reviews but this time I felt an obligation to the give full transparency that I did not receive. read more

This salon came through for me when I had an urgent hair situation at the last minute! I had a botched haircut the day before I was set to travel to San Antonio for a girlfriends reunion, and I felt so ugly... I made calls to salons as soon as I touched down at SAT to see who could fit me in because I felt so bad about my look, and I didn't want to walk around anymore with horrible hair.
