I used Viva La Glam for my hair and makeup for my rehearsal photos and for my wedding day, and overall was pleased with my results. I cannot say enough good things about my makeup! Kim was absolutely incredible! Even my bridesmaids and family who also had their makeup done were very pleased. I wasn't a big fan of full falsies after my trial, and Kim brought me options and made sure I was happy with my lashes for my wedding day. She has a great way of finding out what someone likes about a look, and bringing that look to life. She was having car troubles the morning of my wedding, and that had me scared for a second!! But she ultimately made it, completed all the looks, and with time to spare. However, hair was not the same completely positive experience. I was happy with my hair as the bride, but unfortunately a lot of my bridesmaids hair was already falling after just being done. Some voiced their concerns, but our hair stylist ultimately was not receptive, and honestly seemed kind of annoyed with them. She packed up without offering touch ups and the girls were fixing each other's hair. We didn't even realize she'd left without covering netting from hair that had fallen, as I was actually in the makeup chair. I'm sure that it gets annoying with people asking for hairstyles that don't work with their hair, or expecting you to make it perfect, but people are paying a lot of money and know they'll be photographed. I think this stylist could go a long way just learning to politely redirect people if they're requesting a style that won't work with their hair. Most people aren't experts, and just want to look pretty and have a style that will last! None of my bridesmaids are picky or rude girls. Ultimately we were able to fix the styles that had fallen, re-curl, and re-spray. So, I'd say that all in all this was a very small negative part of a fantastic day, but obviously when you're paying $$$ for a wedding service and not being unreasonable- you expect a certain level of professionalism and attention to detail. Viva la glam promised that this work ethic would be extended to the bridal party- not just the bride- which was part of why I was initially inclined to book. I am hoping it was just an oversight/ off day for that stylist. I want to end on another positive note and say that Danielle was fabulous to work with and very professional! She was easy to contact and very responsive. read more

Jen and Val are amazing. To start they make sure they meet your exact needs by showing inspiration pictures, learning your skin/hair type and checking in with you during the whole process. After the trial they will follow up asking for any notes and feedback for the wedding day and have everything documented. On top of being so organized they are just BEAUTIFUL and FUN people. They make you feel comfortable, beautiful and most of all they make you laugh. My wife and I had so much fun with them not only during trials but on the wedding day. UPDATE: After speaking with Jennifer, I have updated the business rating to reflect this new experience and interaction. Jennifer reached out to rectify my experience with her company and speak with me about how best to improve future experiences for other clients. I was impressed by her willingness to have this discussion and could tell she takes to heart suggestions on improving future guest experiences. After this most recent interaction, I would consider using her company again. Old review: This experience was less than ideal. I contacted Jennifer about having hair and makeup done for friends event. She was responsive and assured me an hour was enough time to get everything ready prior to my event. I explained to her I needed to be done by 3pm in order to finish getting ready to make it to the event on time. Instead Jennifer sent two people who arrived 20 minutes late due to trouble navigating parking(?). I had actually started curling my hair by the time they arrived as I now had 40 minutes to get ready for full face makeup and hair. News flash: it takes at minimum an hour for both to be complete. I was running to the event bus at the end and only made it because the bus was late by five minutes. Additionally, although I had full face of makeup and hair it was not what I wanted. I wanted a dewy makeup look and got powdery matte (actually ended up adding my own blush to look less vampiric and changing the lip color to soften it). I ended up with a hairstyle that was not close to what I was going for (high pony with curls with center part, two wispies in front), however, I got a 90s prom puffed up front with two pony tails in the back (one should have been pulled through the other). To fix this I would have needed them to redo my hair- center part, less volume in front as it made it hard to tell I had a pony tail and not some weird 90s updo. Unfortunately there was literally no time to do this since they arrived so late despite Jennifer assuring me via text that they knew I needed to be done by 3pm. Lastly, having someone pull your hair to curl it while another person is adding makeup to your face and trying not to smudge it, is not enjoyable. My recommendation is go to somewhere else. Use someone else. You aren't getting Jennifer. And they won't arrive on time or early. Causing you stress to accommodate them for a service you are paying them for. My recommendation for the owner- tell people to arrive 20 minutes before the expected time. I have had my hair and makeup done as a guest of or in a wedding lots and never have encountered people this late. If they had been on time, I could have adjusted what they did. Instead I looked like a vampire with 90s prom hair. read more

There aren't enough good things that I can say about this business, they were extremely clean, very considerate of COVID guidelines, and so kind and thoughtful during their services. I absolutely love Viva la Glam. Jennifer is great to work with. She did my make up for my bachelorette party and I loved it! I prefer a more natural look, so she helped me feel put together for the special occasion but also still feel like me. I've gotten my hair done by Steph for my engagement pictures, wedding, and just a cut. Each time she's been amazing! She listed to what I wanted but was also honest enough to tell me what my hair needed. She's a great conversation partner and has always made me feel comfortable and safe. And just because very few people can do makeup on my face (I am an asian) but Jen did my makeup and I was so happy!
