I love Gary and Jerry (the owners). I have been going to them for 5 years now. They have never increased their prices and it is so cheap for a cut and color! They also don't jack their prices up on their beauty products and will boycott anything that they feel is too expensive. They are good and honest guys, and give great hair cuts too! One time I went in tot get a hair cut and had a French revolution party to go to that night. Jerry excitedly offered to do my hair Marie Antionette style and then spray paint it pink! These guys are sweet as can be! I came in for a quick touch up cut when out doing my errands on Polk on a Sunday and they took me as a walk-in right away. I explained what I wanted and after some quick back and forth, my guy did the relevant work without any muss or fuss. Conversation was great and entertaining, the cut was just what I needed, and I was out the door in about 20 minutes. I was on Polk street looking for a hair cut. I picked this place cos it was not as as crowded and had good review on Yelp. A nice old man welcomed me. His name was Raphael. He was going to be my stylist for the hair cut. Here is my unfiltered experience: Cons: ===== - The hair cut was rough. The stylist was pressing the brush too hard, it did hurt at times. He pulled my ears a bit too harshly to reach out behind my ears. He used is hand to clean by tapping on my neck, instead of a cleaning brush, this was not pleasant. -The cut was uneven and rushed. - He didn't follow my ask of not removing too much in front of my head. Pros: ==== - The back cut was ok. It's hard to give feedbacks on the spot since you don't know how the stylist will react. Overall, this was one of the worst hair cut experience I had. I would not recommend this place. Note, I only tried one stylist, they "may" have good one. Hope my review will prevent you a bad experience, and feed into the honest feedbacks that all service business owner should seek for, if they are truly customer obsessed. Thanks! read more

I called early one Saturday morning and asked if a stylist was available. Stephanie answered and said she could take me in the next 15 minutes! I walked over and was seen right away. The place was empty (it was 10:30 am) but I know it get much busier - my boyfriend has also had his hair cut by Stephanie and wasn't able to make an appointment quite as soon as I was. Stephanie had some great ideas for my hair and gave me a great cut. I'm extremely low maintenance when it comes to my hair and she was able to cut away all of my split ends and leave me with a cut I can wear up, down, straight, curly - you name it. I would have preferred to first send an email to business owners but I was not able to find the relevant contact information. I have been to this salon at least once before for a hair trim and the experience was positive. I scheduled the next appointment for May 14, 2016 at 12:15pm for the same service but with the different stylist (the previous one was unavailable). For whatever reason, the new person (older male with colored reddish hair) proceeded to persistently ask me questions as to why the hair closer to the front of my face is shorter than the hair at the back (I am a female with long hair). I have tried (at least twice) to explain that it could be because I use the curling iron for portions of my hair and that it was not "by design / haircut" that it ended up being shorter. I explained that I need a simple trim / cut and that this salon was able to previously help me with the same service in the past. The person (rather impolitely) continued questioning me re my hair length culminating with the statement that my hair looked "riduculous" and the he is not going to do the job for me and that I should go elsewhere (accompanied by somewhat theatrical gesticulation). I understand that anyone can be refused service but I would like to emphasize that I was polite and the hairdresser was not. One can simply say "Sorry, I don't think I can help you, etc.". Instead, I was practically humiliated in front of other customers and frankly, such an attitude kinda ruined my day. I was in two minds whether I should be giving this review on Yelp but really I think that the owners and clients should know. This is not the way to treat customers. I went to another salon later in the day who were happy to help me right away. I will certainly never go back to Maneframe and that is thanks to the person that I had a misfortune to deal with today. Yesterday I got a haircut first time in 3 month. My look has little influence on my life (Software Engineer), so I usually don't care. And yet I found Eli's contacts and asked for a service. What is about this 40-something guy that made me want to see him again? The answer is - he cares. You honestly can feel it and that's really an amazing experience. Then you make a connection. And then you start to see him as a person with own timeline and stories. Haircut was awesome, no doubts about that. But how does it look on a grumpy person? Elizar did a great job!!!! I'm so scared with haircuts, but He knew immediately looking at my hair what I needed. He was very careful with my delicate locks. I was worried to get a haircut, because of my crazy bleached hair. It's super dry, but he knew what to do. He kept my length, but cut off all the damage, and reduced the thickness, texture and shape. I really appreciated the knowledge he had! He even recommended a great product for my dry hair as well. He's super nice as well! He let me and my friend come in with a last minute appointment and we ended up being 20 mins late too! He stayed way later from closing time as well, which was greatly appreciated! I called in the morning of to see if I could schedule an appointment with Eliazar (after seeing all the great reviews for him), but he was completely booked for a few weeks. When I left my hair was all one color (a darker medium red auburn) and had the shape and body it hasn't had in almost 2 years.
