Manga Tea Shop provides a local boba tea spot for the Carrollwood area to quell the immediate cravings for boba tea. It's eccentric decor and theme makes it delightfully quirky and fun to visit. Understanding that good boba tea (Ten Ren being the baseline) is hard to come by in the Tampa Bay area, Manga Tea is pretty decent. At the time of our visit, the boba-rista was incredibly friendly and genuine - her welcoming attitude definitely suited this business - so kudos to her! The Tiger and standard milk teas served their purpose, but the fruit smoothies stood out pretty well. The menu is a mix of traditional flavors and the neo-bubble drink trend (more toward the latter). There is a decent amount of sitting room at which soft-cover manga publications are situated. Aside from the manga reads, there is also a free single-player arcade and nice pay-to-play claw machine. There are also a few non-beverage/food items for purchase for those anime fans. This is definitely a great hangout spot for those that just want to enjoy other like-minded anime/manga purveyors. I wouldn't be surprised if Manga Tea hosted some local/mini ComiCon event as it would be an ideal venue. Very cute Boba and Manga shop with incredible decor and a free arcade game loaded with classic games. The Boba was good but I'd say a little pricey for the area. They are located in a suburban area between Carrollwood and Citrus Park but priced like downtown or S. Tampa. Such a cool place! The vibe, decorations, and full walls of manga of all different kinds involving some of the most epic moments is just badass. The boba teas were delicious as well, the tiger milk tea and cookies and cream are what we tried. Service was friendly. They even have cool little keychains and different things you can buy as well. As a place to get a drink, I think it is great. My drink (honeydew milk tea) was perfectly made. The inside decor is cool, the space was clean, and the service was friendly. As a place to sit & enjoy a drink, I didn't like it. They don't have wifi, which isn't a bad idea if they are trying to encourage manga reading but it doesn't feel like a good environment for that. The tv and music sound like competing noise. They have one sectional couch and the rest of the seats are backless, hard, high chairs that are not comfortable. read more

Very fancy manga wall artwork. Love the ambience. A huge Naruto statue on the front make me like it very much. The day we visit, they have event to dress up. Not sure there is a discount for dress up. Definitely a lot people show up. We were trying their mango smoothie with boba. My wife like their boba but I feel it is not chewy enough. They do have enough brown sugar. Over seven dollars drink but did not buy my favorite for the smoothie. However, I like their mochi ice cream with lychee and espresso. Both are good. This tea shop is close to my house and has a lot of options. I usually get the passion fruit with boba but this time I wanted to try something different. I got the strawberry milk tea with regular boa boa and light sweetness. It was the perfect treat that didn't leave much guilt. The girls were helpful when I asked the questions about the tea. We've been waiting for this place to open. We couldn't make it for the grand opening but second day isn't too bad. We got to order right away. I wanted to try the Mocha but they were out. I realized this place was next to my gym and I HAD TO try the bubble tea! Since it was after my workout I ended up trying the protein strawberry smoothie with whey and I added regular boba! It was sweet and light and frothy! The boba was delicious. Not hard or over cooked. It was perfect. I'll give them a 10/10 on the smoothie and a 10/10 on the vibes! One day, I realized I had some spare time, and it was on my way home. So I got to check it off my list. Mangatea popped up in my Instagram feed a few times, not sure if it was a sponsored post or just related to things I liked pushing it higher into my algorithm. Basically, the manga homage is the wallpaper and some décor behind the counter. They also had a bunch of Japanese style sticker for sale for like $1 apiece. What a fun shop! I love anime/manga and I am so happy to have a place like this to hang out. The walls are covered in manga and they have a ton of cute stickers on display and for purchase, as well. This is a cash-less shop. They offer smoothies, milk teas, and fruit teas, and mochi ice cream, too. I got a 24oz Taro Milk Tea with boba which was yummy, but a lot of the boba stuck together in huge globs. Although that was a downer, I was so excited to be there. Loved all the Naruto everywhere. So I've just moved from the UK not too long ago, and I have been dying to find a milktea/boba shops here. But soon realized that there a not much of it here near me. When looking in IG I stumbled a video showing about this shop and it's not far from my BF house and our gym, so I decided that my Bf and I should check it out. The shop outside I just like the average exterior design but when you go inside, the place looks different. It feels like your in a manga. (Brings back childhood memories ) it's too big of a place but it's cozy and cool. Their menu has good flavours, from fruit teas to milk teas, they also have smoothies. They sell mochi's too. What's the best thing about this milktea shop, they don't use milk instead they use lactose free milk, which is really good as lots of Asians are lactose intolerant, like me. (Man, a milktea shop that understand our sentiments as Asian is a lit ) you know how hard to find a milktea shop that give you an option of nondairy, most milktea shop doesn't have those options but knowing this one really made one for us it's THE MAN! I am so glad they opened, now I have a place to go get my milktea here in Tampa. BTW all their menu are good and their mochi's are great. The staff are super friendly and cool. I think the owner is the one also serving you the drinks, so cool! Went on opening day it was really awesome- stickers available for purchase and everything covered in manga. The boba tea was really good! They are able to make it with just non dairy creamer or lactaid and non dairy creamer. There is vegan mochi. I wish they gave a little more boba for the standard size. The taro is always my favorite and this place made it perfectly. Not to much ice but enough to chill the drinks. The ice cream mochi was great.
