If I could give them zero stars I would. The blinds they installed two years ago are already broken (fraying on the sides and shade cannot actually go up all the way so we have no light in our master bedroom). We contacted them and it took two weeks to get a call back. They told us they were a bit behind with repairs do to Covid (which is understandable) and that we would be contacted for repairs in the next two weeks. That conversation took place in August, it is now October and we have not heard back. I have also called their customer service line weekly since then and only have the ability to leave voicemails and not actually speak to some one. Quite possibly the worst customer experience I have ever received. We have now given up and will reach out to Shade Store. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT BAD QUALITY AND EVEN WORSE SERVICE. read more

Our experience was TERRIBLE and Eynat is OUT OF HER MIND. We had our blinds picked up for a very simple repair. A new string. They told us 2 weeks and they would call with a price estimate. No one did. My boyfriend called the company multiple times, no one picked up or returned his calls. I called and Eynat answered (probably because she did not have my number on file) and told me 2-4 weeks. Four weeks go by. No shades. I call, Eynat says she will call the repair company and get back to me. She never calls me back. More weeks go by, my boyfriend calls again and Eynat lies about the previous time estimates she gave, and finally says she isn't sure if they can even do repairs! She directs him to the warehouse. He calls the warehouse to find out that over a month after our shades were picked up, Eynat has STILL not sent them to the repair facility!!!!! When they finally arrive at the repair facility the kind lady there says that she'll send the shades directly back to him so he doesn't have to deal with loony-toon Eynat ever again. With every screwup and slight, I've been ever-more excited to write a one star review and eviscerate this place. I'm drafting this now because they are still holding my blinds hostage and are late to come and reinstall them, but as soon as I have the shades in my custody, this will go live. Anyway, this has been a complete nightmare from start to finish. The motor in my Hunter-Douglass shades broke and I needed to get it repaired -- simple, right? Turns out there are only two authorized dealers in all of New York City, and MWF gave me a slightly lower quote, so I went with them. Big mistake. Side note: don't ever waste your money on Hunter-Douglass shades. Things started off fine -- they came and got the blinds, no big deal. Then I couldn't get a straight answer about how long it would take. I would call, and call again, and leave messages, and no one would ever call me back. Hunter-Douglass told me the turnaround time was 2-3 weeks; it's been a month now and I still don't have blinds in my bedroom. So, basically, I've had to waste my time tracking down my blinds, and not getting my calls returned, when I have better things to do. At this point I'd rather take down all my Hunter-Douglass blinds and buy new shades then face the prospect of going through this all again. Well, I finished my review, my blinds still aren't here, and the woman who was supposed to call me back with an update still hasn't even done that. So unless you want your life to look like this, avoid this place like the plague. read more

I knew I wanted Hunter Douglas window treatments (solar shades) for my newly renovated hi-rise apartment in Forest Hills. I had gone to a dealer in Queens and thought to shop at another in the city. Manhattan Window Fashion was closest to my office. When I went to the showroom (on the 2nd floor), I spoke to Gigi, the store's Interior Designer. I had measurements of my 3 windows along with pictures on my phone to give her an idea of my rooms and wall paint colors. Gigi was very knowledgeable in all HD products and made great color recommendations. Scheduling an appointment for her to measure my windows was quick and simple. Gigi came immediately (two days later) to measure my windows. The HD shades arrived in 8 business days (earlier than expected) and scheduling the installation with Jennifer at the store was a breeze. The installers were great, extremely professional and very knowledgable (I asked many questions to satisfy my curiosity). They did a great job and were done installing my three shades (each 108" wide) in less than 90 minutes. I would not normally go with a company in the city because of the "high" costs but MWF was competitive with/comparable to the one in Queens (which was recommended by a family member). So I was fuming. Seriously fuming. The designer was late for the initial appointment. REALLY late. "Late" doesn't even begin to cover it. I'm no Mother Teresa. I was LIVID. And the more senior installer had an EGO. Just one initial cap would not suffice here. All three caps are necessarry. Why 5 stars then? Well, because they've earned them. Lateness happens in Manhattan. If you've never been late, then you've likely lived in Manhattan for under a month. And it never rained. Because rain is this major Manhattan crisis. Don't ask me why. It just IS. Don't question it. If you're a new Manhattanite who is not pooping stocks and bonds and money (and as you're reading Yelp reviews, I assume you're not), just learn to accept some things. Remember how your mom said "Because I said so!"? It's kinda like that. So the designer arrives and she's (a) lovely, (b) has an adorable (Italian?) accent, (c) a great vibe and (d) is very to-the-point, smart, practical, and offers several options, none of which breaks the bank, and all of which are workable. She highlights the aspects of each (drama vs. neutrality; retro vs. modern vs. timeless, etc.). She very politely disses my rug because EVERYONE disses my rug which I seem to be the only one to like, and because I specifically asked her about it and insisted on an answer. Why I would think ANYONE would compliment it is beyond me. But I never stop trying. I very much appreciated she had the guts to say what she thought (I'm a fan of honesty vs, sucking up), and the class to do so in an unoffensive, practical way. She, however, complimented my furniture placement (of which I am quite proud). By the time she was leaving, I felt that I've known her for years, and she even extended a very kind offer of overseeing the installation. Speaking of, two guys came in - the Senior and the Junior. Senior thought an awful lot of himself. Junior was a joy all-around. Senior misunderstood my mom. Which is not surprising, I do that all the time. Is just the way she is. (See "just accept it" advice above.) He was a wiz at rectifying once I appeared and freaked out. Smugly, he performed a miracle. I do not judge smuggness. I'm smug myself. If you know your stuff, you SHOULD be smug. They cleaned up every little thing. EVERYTHING. So we've had our window treatments for four months, and they are fabulously exactly what we wanted though we weren't aware that they were what we wanted. And the price was spot-on. Recently i had them do all the windows at my new project in long island, I couldn't Be happier with the results. they helped me decide on the window shades from the huge selection they Brought with them. The results that came out make me look like a much better designer then I actually am. After months of vetting out different companies for window Treatments , we decided to go with Manhattan Window Fashion .  Our designer was amazing. I would love to give this company a better review as the products they offer are of great quality, however due to the COMPLETE lack of customer service and client management I would NEVER recommend this company and would highly advise anyone thinking about using them to look elsewhere. After working with Gigi, what went on for MONTHS for a simple blinds job, I left with little more than a headache. She was very eager to sell me on a product, and once that had been decided she disappeared. It took weeks to get confirmation on measurements, the product ordered was the wrong color from what was originally agreed upon, and the follow-up was even worse. Gigi is quick to talk over you, interrupt, and apparently she thinks that talking louder makes her more right (An unfortunate way to do business). Based on other reviews, it seems this company's business model is the "bait and switch". Every single time I tried to reach out to the office, she was unavailable and nobody else who was there could help me and only instructed me I had to talk to her. She was completely unresponsive and seemed to work at her leisure which is comparable to a snail's pace. Overall the lack of motivation, sense of urgency, customer service, and non-existent respect for somebody spending money for their services warrants a ZERO star rating. I was badly in need of some window treatments, due to the general lack of privacy in NJ. A friend recommended Manhattan Window Fashion. I wouldn't normally bother with a company in the city, but they were more than willing to come to my house for a free consultation. I was really glad they offer that, because there is so many choices! I really had no idea. The consultant made a couple of really helpful suggestions that helped me narrow it down, and stay within budget. Stay away from this store. They are not honest. They promised us a particular brand & color roller shades, but gave us a different one ( cheaper version). When we asked the designer to come and verify, she refused to come. Don't be fooled by her sweet talk when you are about to make a deal. She will make you feel like she gave you a great price, but will compromise on quality. Her measurements were off. When the installer came, he had to cut 2 of the shades, causing irregular edges !. When I called the designer, she did not answer the phone. Her voicemail is always full ( for a reason). When they brought the shades, they did not bring valances, for which I had to wait for another 2 weeks. There are plenty of other vendors in the city & surrounding areas you may choose from. I hate pushy sales people who lurk 2 feet behind waiting to pounce and we experienced none of that here. The variety was fantastic and, with the budget in mind, the sales person was able to explain all of our options. We had a great time here and got exactly what we were looking for. We live on a low floor, so I wanted top-down bottom-up shades. First, not every store offers Hunter Douglas shades. Manhattan Window Fashion has those and much more. Second, I went to a store MUCH closer to my home on the UWS, which shall remain nameless, and the woman spent more time telling me how expensive the shades I wanted would be than actually showing me the shades and features that i asked for. Then she told me to go home and measure the windows myself to see whether what I wanted would fit. What the?? Manhattan Window Fashion sent someone to my apartment the day after I called, to measure and show me options. Within a few weeks, I had the most beautiful Silhouette shades imaginable. I called for a quote and got a design consultant to come same day for free. He was very nice and professional and made me rethink my idea as it wasn't functional and more expensive. I ended up with solar shades in my living room, black out roller shades in bedroom and for my daughters room we took the Silhouette which are a bit more pricy but so elegant and functional. Lead-time was 2-4 weeks but we got it after a 9 days! It works flawlessly! Worth every dime! read more

They have a star for past performance. In the last few months, I have wasted time waiting for them for two scheduled appointments. The first time they were supposed to come between 2 and 4pm. The person arrived 20 minutes after I had left for an appointment I had to keep. After several follow up calls, I was told we could schedule 4pm as my apartments are only one block from their office. The person never showed up. I can't comment on their work now as it has been some time since I last used them, but I don't think they are trying very hard. read more

This is a way long overdue review that I had to write for this company! If you want the gist of my review Just don't do business with these people , Absolutely horrifying customer service....They are the rudest people you have to deal with after your sign the contract, they don't respond to your calls, texts and requests when they screw up your order!Now if you want to know the details please read below and save yourself from the hassle I had with them! We ended up losing our money as well as dealing with ignorant people! Our point of contact was Yaron! He was a nice person in the beginning, spent time coming to our place taking measurements etc. Originally I was going to order roman shades and I was so decided about it! Yaron came to our place and talked us into ordering draperies and telling us that what you see in pictures wont be what you'll get eventually when you order roman shades. We went to their store I was still more inclined to ordering roman shades. Together with his colleagues, they argued that roman shades would never be what you desired and they persuaded us into ordering draperies! Apparently their people cannot make clean shades! Then we placed the order for draperies, paid down the deposit and the whole experience changed after we signed the contract! One of our windows was such that its height was not consistent from end to end, one end was shorter than the other by 1/4 of inch and this is apparently the case with many windows when I consulted another company from whom we finally got our roman shades! They apparently did not know how to deal with this inconsistency and our draperies was so ugly and terrible that Yaron himself came to our apartment and admitted that even he did not like it! Then they sent someone to take down the draperies and sent it back to their factory to fix it! Long story short, after they took it back, it took them ages to get back to us, I had to chase Yaron and finally being told that it was not their fault and that we had to bring someone to fix our walls and I should not follow up with them why it took them so long to deliver our order! He was telling me that he was doing me a favor by taking down the drapery and fixing it. He never replied to any of my politely written texts! He always ignored them, ignored my calls and when you called their offices, the women there first were nice to you but after putting you on hold and trying to reach out to Yaron, and supposedly being told by Yaron to get rid of me, they changed attitude! Honestly I had the worst experience of my life having to deal with them! Finally I told them if they don't get my order by a certain date (one month after my drapery was taken for being fixed) I would go ahead and place my order with another company which I did! and thank God they were professional enough to be able to deal our window and delivered our roman shades exactly the way I was imagining them! Stay away from this vendor if you want to order custom made window treatments as they cannot apparently customize your order and they blame it on your taste, your walls etc, moreover they are ignorant and not responsible towards their customers! read more

Incredibly aggressive saleslady. I only wanted to get an estimate, but the saleslady corners you into buying it on the spot. When I explained that I was still looking around and wanted to check out other stores, she used a version of divide-and-conquer scheme between me and my husband (who can be persuaded fairly easily). I should've been more steadfast in my decision and jolted out of there. Unfortunately, my husband was lured into buying the shades. Gigi reassured him repeatedly that a 120" long Duette shade would hold up. However, the cord snapped a few months later. It couldn't hold up a Duette shade with that length because it was too heavy. We had it fixed only to have it snap again. Now I'm out $3k and stuck with shades that won't roll up. read more

I ordered split shuttters for 6 windows in November of 2013. I was never given a drawing to approve. This made me nervous. I personnally went to the shop to check on the order, since my phone calls were rarely returned - especially by the owner Yaron (who's mailbox was "full"). Four of the shutters arrived in May as solid - not spit. Since I did not have any paperwork, it was my word against his and I was desperate to have the project finished, I kept them. The last 2 windows, I was assured, would be split. I spent the summer calling this company and asking about it. They would tell me they would get back to me and never call me. This went on and on... The last shutters showed up in July - and guess what? they were solid - again. I then had to wait until September 2014 to get the split shutters. Without those window treatments, I had to get dressed crouched down under the windows. I live across from a museum with beautiful trees and a view, and the solid shutters block that. I would never go to this vender again. The installers drilled the screws through my new millwork with the points of the screws invading my shoe closet making it impossible for me to adjust the shelves.
