Always a bad experience here. They do not have basic food items when we always arrive like garlic rice, sisig or even sinigang.

There were also a number of drinks to choose from -- ranging between fun lattes and classic juices. I got the beef tapa and it was really juicy! Sometimes tapa can come with a little bite to it, but this one was really yummy. The restaurant itself if super homey. Not too many tables, so make sure to get on the waitlist early if you come for breakfast! Keep in mind they have a strict 5 minute arrival policy for your party. Luckily, they were able to seat us about 15 minutes after.

Been to Lola's by MFK a few times now and each time has been solid and delicious…read more Lola's is a Filipino fusion brunch spot located in Anaheim. The parking lot isn't usually too bad in that you can find something as there is an abandoned restaurant near the side. Best to try to give yourself at least a 15 minute buffer though when you go as the place tends to get busy on the weekends at least. Once there, there are usually both smaller and bigger tables in a cozy environment. The menu itself has a mixture of items as well as some juice/coffee drinks as well as some alcohol. Here's what we got overall: *Bang-silog: The fried fish is a surprisingly good option and pretty big. Able to easily feed two and comes with a few side items like rice and a fried egg. *Pandan cold brew: Oddly really good. I was afraid it was going to be overly sweet but ended up being a perfect balance of the pandan and the cold brew flavor. *Silog Breakfast Bowls with Longanisa: Lots of different options to choose from here for your protein. This is a great overall bowl packed meal that includes garlic rice, egg, tomato salad, and the meat you chose. You also get a few sauces to enjoy with your meal like ketchup and soy sauce. The service is really friendly and able to answer all of our questions. And the meal itself took around 15-20 minutes to come out. Overall, it's a solid brunch spot that was great to go to nearby. Would recommend!

The restaurant is clean and does not have smell. Kare-kare - I remember, back in the days, BF kare-kare was served bland so you can use the bagoong to add umami to the dish. Now, you cannot add bagoong anymore because it will make the dish too salty. Don't get me wrong - it was very good, but I'd rather add my personal flavor with bagoong to the dish. Crispy Pata - was perfect! The meat and the skin were soft and crispy, and NOT salty. Highly recommended. Lumpiang Shanghai - very good too. There was a member of our party that is not Filipino and doesn't eat shrimp because she hates the fishy taste and was surprised that there is shrimp in the lumpia and love it anyway. It was crispy and was perfect with the sweet and sour sauce. Chop Suey - it's good but has too much sauce that it's soupy. We also ordered Sinigang and pansit, unfortunately, I didn't try them (overwhelming) so, I can't review them. Overall, we had a good experience at this particular Barrio Fiesta! Thank you to my niece for taking us here!!

    * Who: partner & I * What: random late lunch…read more* When: Saturday a little past noon * Why: hungry after apartment touring * Space/Decor: in a small plaza that had plenty of parking when we arrived. Average space in the sense it's rectangular & like any mom/pop hole in the wall. You step in, tables to your right going all the way back, & left front side has cash register, sweets display, & water dispenser while the rest of the left was the kitchen. Menu was straightforward but could benefit from having a description in case you're not familiar (like my BF). * Service: the reason I'm docking by 1 star. The lady was nice, but not very attentive, & it wasn't like it was busy. We needed to ask or follow up on 2-3 things. My BF was eyeing some dessert when we were first ordering but she didn't try to sell it to us ‍ * Food: surprisingly good as it was both our first time there. He got the adobo bowl & the chicken was tender/juicy & pretty much fell off the bone. I got the tocino plate & the meat was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic in the rice. We also got one chicken skewer & one pork skewer, which was a bit smaller than I'm used to but the smoky flavor & tenderness was spot on. My only issue was the portion compared to the price. * Final Thoughts: mom/pop Filipino food that is great on flavor but leaves something to be desired with customer service. Would recommend & will return again for the food. * Final Grade: B+ or 8.5/10

The workers were friendly and the food took about 25min to be ready from the time that we ordered. I've only ever had to go from here but I am told that the portions are larger if you're dining in. We ordered sinigang and kare kare. Both came in a very large portion size and the two dishes were enough for 4-5 people. The flavors were good and they tasted even better the next day. They gave plenty of meat in both dishes. It was a good experience over all and I would like to dine in next time to get the full experience.

TLDR: It's an overpriced buffet for $25 given the options. If they'd drop the price to..... $20,…read morebut more realistically $23, it MIGHT be worth it. I also feel that the place would be better if they included all the staple Filipino breakfast items (Pandesal, Corned beef, Filipino hotdog, bangus). The taste is arguably 4 stars, but the price point drops the overall feeling to 3-3.5 stars. Food Tocino - It's fine. It tasted kind of store bought, but I think it's good enough to get a few times. Longganisa - It's just.... bad. They were trying to go for the sweet style longganisa, but it missed the spot completely. Beef Tapa - Probably the best option from the viands made available. It's the right blend of saltiness and sourness. The beef also had a good texture. Garlic Rice - I'm glad they didn't mess up one of the cornerstones of Filipino breakfast. It could've been better, but the general quality of the food here was already low enough that it made this one of the better items. Pancit Guisado - Dry, filled with starch filled lobster balls, and could generally use some more stuff in it. I regret getting this and should've eaten more garlic rice Fried Shrimp - I'm glad it's easy to peel, but the shrimp itself is generally flavorless. Egg - I was scared that these mass produced eggs may not have had a runny yolk, but I'm glad to see enough liquid to praise it Tokwa't baboy - The bronze medalist of the meal. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The pork belly is on the drier end, but it's small enough that it's not hard to eat. Nilaga - Good. Probably my favorite bite. It's seasoned well, the beef is soft, and there's a good amount of vegetables. Champorado - Decent. Shame that I didn't see the milk when I was getting it. Maybe they ran out, maybe they were refilling it as I was getting. Buko Pandan - Very good. Is it store bought? Maybe. It doesn't matter, still good. Service: You pay first before you're assigned a table. There are a lot of staff who are there to keep the tables clean and to mix the food every now and then to prevent the tray from drying out. Ambiance: Bright, spacious, and inviting. A very good place to have Sunday breakfast / brunch.
