2-item combo $9-something each comes with rice and $3.50/stick of barbecue. Best deal and quality I've seen in northern Birginia. Good home cooked food that doesn't break the bank and also can I add the food wasn't overly salty or greasy like most Filipino food I've tried. The quality of the food was also very fresh for a carrenderia. Portions are great and the service was excellent. Very clean tables and easy to grab n go. There is $5 minimum to pay with card and you pay in same line as the grocery market they will just print you out a label n you take it up to the register.

Lechon Kawali was surprisingly limp. Not crispy.

If nothing else then come. That's pretty much my sentiment about this market w/restaurant. The market selection is limited, the dessert items are limited, the turo turo food is average and good customer service is non-existent. Stopped by on 3 occasions simply because it's located by the hotel and we were hopeful that each visit would result in something delicious.

My friends were looking for a spot to go that we have never been to. I found this place and a lot of people have been talking about it and let me tell you, this is the spot to go to. This is the first time I've had filipino food and it was AMAZING! When you first walk in, it is - as the name suggests - a market. There are a whole ton of filipino goods from ube pandesal to mango drinks and so much more! The hot food is through the entryway on the right and it is a cute bar where someone serves you! Everything was so flavorful at such a great price. I had the combo with pancit, lechon, and barbecue. The lechon was crispy and juicy and came with a sauce that was a but sweet and sour. Words cannot describe the flavor this lechon was providing. Then, I took a bite out of the barbecue and the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It reminded me of cha shiu from the chinese butchers. The pancit was a nice base and had good flavor. All together this meal knocked it out of the park and I thought about going again the next day haha!

This place has a market on one side and a kitchen on the other. They have a lot of dishes and the prices are not that bad. I got the sausage and lumpia and both were ok. The pancit was also on that quality level too. They have a $5 minimum for card use which could be a problem since they have low prices. The food is just ok and I probably would not go back.

This is a small grocery store with lots of specialty Filipino items and a cafe serving Filipino food. A friend suggested this place. Found it on Yelp with only 4 reviews with an average of  3.25 stars within the last 12 months. This was our first visit and we hoped for the best.    The grocery store had fresh produce, pastries, sauces, seasonings, snacks, frozen products, refrigerated products, noodles, rice, etc. All tailored to help you make your favorite Filipino food. My wife and I bought yellow bean cakes, Crema de Ube, Suman sa Ligia and frozen Manila's Ihawan steamed pork buns. The yellow bean cakes tasted just like the chinese version with the same name. The filling was mildly sweet with a ground bean texture. The crust was flakely with a waxy texture on the surface. It was good tasting to me only because I grew up eating food like this. My wife thought it was OK.    The Crema de Ube was Ube in mashed potato form with milk, egg, butter and a small amount of sugar. If you love Ube, this is for you.    The Suman sa Ligia was sweet rice with a tiny amount of sugar wrapped in a banana leaf. Tasted like plain sweet rice. The surface areas that were green, had a hint of smokiness from the leaf. We've had better versions of sweet rice wrapped in banana leaves.    The Manila's Ihawan steamed pork buns were soft and slightly sweet with a taste of powdered milk. The addition of powdered milk in a pork bun dough makes it much more tastier than not adding it. The filling was minced pork with a slightly sweet oyster sauce flavor. This was very good in flavor and texture.    The cafe had ready-made food in warming pans like a buffet table. So this rating is based on a comparison of buffet like food, not made-to-order food. We've had the privilege of eating great Filipino food at friend's and relative's homes. They were born in the Philippines and one relative was a chef. So, our standards are a little high. We ordered tungi tungi and 2 combination platters. Each platter came with white rice and 3 choices.    The tungi tungi was chewy and not crispy. It was pretty dense, plain and not sweet except for a light amount of caramel on the outside. It tasted like a plain sweet rice dough, no powdered milk or coconut milk. This should be eaten immediately after it is made, while it is crispy. They really shouldn't sell this.    Our platters had chicken curry, pancit, lumpia, barbeque pork and longganisa. The chicken curry had white meat that was tender and only slightly dry. The sauce was made with a mildly spicy yellow curry. The curry was thick, but there was some oil that was separated from the sauce. It would probably help the flavor if the oil could be blended into the sauce. Overall, it was OK.    The pancit vegetables and noodles were cooked right, but the sauce was missing some flavor. There was no noticeable sesame oil, or chicken broth. The liquid seasoning was a little weak. Overall, it wasn't the worst we've had. Let's call it so-so, needs improvement.    The lumpia was crispy with a good tasting wrap. The filling was finely shredded vegetables that were seasoned decently. We got 3 pieces and the size was larger than some other places. Overall, it was good.    The barbeque pork was tender and grilled just right. It had a great combination of flavors from the charring, the pork and the sweet marinade. This was excellent and easily the best dish here.    The longganisa was a sweet pork sausage. We got 3 pieces. It was encased and oily on the outside. It was sweet with a good fried flavor and a balanced amount of seasoning. Overall, it was good because I love chinese sausage and this was similiar.    The store and cafe are old looking and in need of renovation. The restroom was also dated, but relatively clean. The service was quick in both areas. There was plenty of space in the cafe for ordering, but only 4 tables for dine-in. Many tables were not allowed to be used. The grocery store checkout area was too small for covid spacing because people were entering, looking at food items, waiting in line, checking out and leaving in one area. There was a lot of people traffic in that one modest size area. It cleared out pretty quickly though. We would definitely come back to this place for specialty items and meals.

My favorite was the chopped salad -- highly recommend! Hubby said his pulled pork sandwich was really good, but he wasn't a fan of the potato salad. I originally ordered the brisket sandwich, but some of the brisket pieces were hard. I mentioned it to the cashier, and she recommended trying the prime brisket instead. She was absolutely right -- it was tender and much better! The customer service was great, and the restaurant was very clean. Overall, a good experience and we'll definitely be back!

I love me some BBQ & I love GAR group restaurants (Great American Restaurants for you non-locals…read morelol), but this one was a bit of a disappointment, unfortunately. DEETS: This is a counter-service restaurant where you place your order with a cashier, and someone brings your food to your table when it's ready. SERVICE: We went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, and it was not very busy at all, with maybe three tables occupied. There were several staff members behind the counter, but no one was paying attention to anything other than themselves or their phones, and they all had their backs to the entrance, oblivious. We waited & waited for someone to turn around, notice us, greet us, and be served. As for seating, we had only the option to sit at a table because all the open booths were dirty. The restrooms were not much better. After our food came out, they must have finally seen the mess because a couple of the crew members, including the chef, started cleaning up the tables. Great to finally see the place get cleaned, but the dining room should never have been in the condition it was in to begin with, especially with it so empty and the staff just standing around, oblivious, as if they had nothing to do... *sigh* & insert a big eyeroll! FOOD: Not surprisingly, the food was average because "you get what you give" and they obvi didn't give a.... We got a pulled pork and a prime brisket with coleslaw, and they were both a bit on the dry side and lacking flavor; nothing at all like the amazing pulled pork at their sister restaurants. The table had a cute wooden box holding a selection of sauces, but sadly, they all tasted pretty much the same. Surprise! lol As always, peeps, support your local small biz, and yes, I would possibly give them a second chance because I do love GAR concepts, but if I do go back, it won't be back anytime soon, or I may not go back at all and stick with my faves of their concepts that I love and know they work, i.e., Patsy's, Silverado, & Sweetwater. 5/31/26

I've never heard of this spot before, and you typically will not find me in Springfield. However, a few of us made lunch plans this past Good Friday to take advantage of the $29.99 AYCE weekday lunch pricing. We got three rounds of beef brisket (chadol), one thin & thick pork belly (samgyupsal) each, and half an order of large intestine (daechang). The chadol was a little too fatty than I'd like, but it was high quality and comparable to non-AYCE options like Meokja Meokja. I didn't love the thin samgyupsal as much, but the thick version was so meaty and juicy. The intestines were a fatty treat, and I was good with just a couple bites. We had to ask for ssamjang and sesame oil for sauces, which they were generous with giving. Our server was pretty attentive, but we thought it was weird that he cooked the thin samgyupsal and the beef brisket at the same time. As for sides, we asked for lots of them (sadly our corn cheese never came). The fermented soybean stew was strong, but a bit too salty at the end. The egg bomb was fluffy and delicious. They also have ramen (aka shin ramen) which we enjoyed by adding several pieces of chadol and letting it soak in there to get that deep meaty flavor. I enjoyed the kimchi throughout the meal, which was the perfect "not quite fresh, but still crunchy" texture. Overall, we ate to our heart's content. I definitely would be back for more chadol, thick samgypsal, and a bit of daechang in the future. The $30 pricing is a steal for the amount of food we got, but I'd hesitate to pay for the $40 dinner price. I don't eat enough at AYCE spots to get my money's worth, so I would rather spend that $40 at a non-AYCE spot for higher quality cuts like galbi and rib tips.

Easily some of the best I've had in the area in a long time, and they set the bar high going into the meal. Once we got to the meat, though, it was a little underwhelming. The all you can eat selection was limited, and a lot of the flavors leaned sweet. We were hoping for more savory, classic Korean BBQ flavors. The sauces were fine, but nothing that really stood out. If we came back, we would definitely add on the ribeye or galbi instead of sticking strictly to the all you can eat option. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere is solid for the Springfield area. That said, our hood vent almost came off mid grill, which definitely took away from the experience. Overall, a strong start with great banchan and service, but the BBQ itself did not quite deliver.

As expected, it was busy, but the restaurant does have a fairly large parking lot which made arrival easier. The setup was interesting. After checking in downstairs, I was given a ticket and directed upstairs for seating. I took the elevator, which offered a clear view of the kitchen below as it ascended... definitely a unique touch. Upstairs, another host staff guided us to our table. The space had a lively feel, roaring with chatter from customers, and I could see parts of the kitchen where food was being prepared over an open flame, which added to the overall atmosphere. For the food, we started with the calamari. It was cooked well and had a nice texture, especially paired with the crispy onion shoestrings, which added a good crunch and flavor. It was served over a lobster sauce, although the lobster flavor wasn't very noticeable. The main issue was the salt level... it was quite heavy! I did enjoy it overall, but I would only recommend it to someone who doesn't have to watch their sodium intake. For entrées, I ordered the steak cooked medium with broccolini. The dish automatically comes with mashed potatoes, and while I was able to substitute the salad for broccolini, there didn't seem to be flexibility with the potatoes. After tasting the mashed potatoes, I wish I was offered to substitute it as it tasted like the brown box we grew up on where you just added water. When the food came out, the steak was closer to medium-well or well done rather than medium, and both the mashed potatoes and broccolini were a bit cold. I chose not to send it back since we waited but it did affect the overall experience. My guest ordered the ribs with fries and coleslaw. The ribs were well-prepared--tender with a clean pull off the bone--and were probably the highlight of the meal. The fries were also very good and came out hot. The coleslaw wasn't as well received, described as having too many of the tougher parts of the cabbage. Overall, the experience had some positives, especially in terms of atmosphere and certain menu items like the ribs and fries. While I did enjoy parts of the meal, it's not somewhere I would personally return to, but it may be worth trying once to form your own opinion.
