We really liked the Manna on 249 where the bread was fresh and delicious. The bakers were right there to talk to and the pastries were behind the counter and not handled by everyone. This location is beautiful. The out front staff needs some training. The food is not the same. I stopped by today to get some breakfast treats for the family. The gentleman that was working the register was very nice and explained what they had available. Bead loaves are packaged and on display by the entrance. I believe they only sell fresh bread and retire loaves after a day. If loaves are not sold, they are given away or discarded. I think using day old bread in savory or sweet bread puddings might be an opportunity for them to explore. Pastries, muffins, cookies, and kolaches are laid out in the open on the main counter. They had gluten free and keto options available. Neither the gentleman attending the register nor another baker that was working were wearing face masks. That's neither here nor there. I'm just putting the info out there so you can decide how you feel about that information. The cheese danish ($3.50) was great - flakey, sweet but not sickening so, and you could still taste a little tang from the cream cheese. The croissant ($3.25) was also good - soft, flakey, slightly caramelized on the outside, and huge! The kolaches ($3.25) were just ok. They use large actual sausages instead of cheap almost hotdogs. However, the sausage isn't whole and in casing. This causes the juices in the sausage to seep into the bread which made it soggy. Overall, I think if you're close to Tomball or The Vintage, I think you should consider stopping by. read more

I was highly disappointed in the service after visiting Manna Bread. When we ordered the coffee and food we received a number and proceeded to sit and wait. We were a party of 7 and sat in an area that seemed to be open to any patrons. After ordering over $180 worth of coffee and breakfast. We waited over 10 minutes and finally received our first coffee. When asked what type of coffee it was the waitress simply replied, "she didn't know". I tasted the coffee and realized it was cold. Then after a few more minutes the manager asked us to move because the area that we were sitting in was a reserved area. There was no sign nor any indication that the place was reserved. We accommodated the request and moved to two spots due there not being anything available for that large of a party. We then proceeded to wait for our food and coffee, After an additional 15 minutes we received a few more of our drinks and they were also cold. After a few more minutes I asked to speak to the manager and the manager seeing that I wanted to talk to him smiled at me and decided to go in the back of their kitchen. He obviously new that I was speaking to him and that felt very disrespectful and nonprofessional. Also another customer was at the front desk frustrated that they had not received their tea, Then the owner Christin Morris noticed the frustration and approached me. I began to explain to her my frustration in the lack of service and my frustration about her manager and she began to explain to me that she was short staffed and had three people call out. I told her that that doesn't excuse the lack of professionalism from her manager and the poor service. She also sad that they have been open almost a year and they are still trying to work out the kinks. She also said thank you for coming to me an not social media for her to address her concerns. I accepted her refund offer but felt compelled to let everyone know that this was my experience. When we were leaving another older couple expressed their frustration to us and had the same experience. The photos attached shows no reserve sign. Decided to go in this morning on a whim with my two children as we pass by it every morning! The interior is so inviting, the smell of fresh bread was amazing and service was great! Was even told by an employee they will be having a small buffet in the morning to accommodate quick bites. The pumpkin spice latte was phenomenal and the kiddos devoured their giant cinnamon rolls. I love coming to this bakery cause you never know what they are going to have. Each time I came they have different things than previously. Today they had cinnamon rolls half off cause it was raining. Amazing deal as these were some of the best cinnamon rolls I have had in a while. If you're heading here for lunch - TURN AROUND! After we ordered, it took the staff so long to bring us our drinks we had to go hunt them down ourselves. Then, when they brought out our food we couldn't help but laugh! My mom ordered the chicken salad on a croissant and there was only but a baby spoonful of chicken salad enough to feed an ant on there! We had to take it back and have them add more otherwise she would've left starving. Then, my salad was a side salad portion!!!! And the chicken was 100% frozen chicken that was most likely heated up in the microwave. Honestly, it looked un appetizing. We both left still hungry and upset at how bad the service was. If you're a hungry pregnant lady heading here for lunch please don't waste your time unless you come already full or have plenty of snacks packed. I was in Tomball again on Friday and decided to try it again. I got a breakfast sandwich with egg and ham on croissant. I really didn't like it, the egg had no taste and the ham was still cold. I got a caramel machiatto, it was good. This time they had the sourdough bread which came off the wall. I asked the waiter if it was fresh and he assured me that it was. Well when I ate it, it wasn't what I expected, it wasn't good at all and didn't seem fresh. It was a little chewier and the flavor wasn't as good as other sourdough I've it tasted like the supermarket sourdough bread. I was a little disappointed because I had been waiting to try it because I have been looking for some good homemade sourdough bread. I don't believe I will visit again. The breads and pastries from this place is truly from heaven. I love bread and it is my weakness. Plus I'm a savory vs sweet foodie, however I will indulge in they pastries. They do Keto and gluten free which is helpful when my sister is in town. As a matter of fact, I'll eat some of the her bread and pastries. It's not your grocery store product so it's not cheap, but it is worth every penny. Being a Dave Ramsey fan (Total Money Makeover) I will indulge myself in something this good.
