Myself and a group of friends (who have not tried kava and were excited to have our first experience nor previously were aware of its values) decided to have a night out and wanted to check the place out. Upon trying to enter my friend asked if they served beer unknowing that it is a sober atmosphere. Instead of taking a moment to educate and inform my group she began to yell and interrogate us on whether or not we were sober in front of another group of people that were outside the venue. Extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable, we immediately left. After reading similar reviews and seeing the "owners" responses on Google, I am glad we were deemed unworthy of entering. read more

Amazing vibe, great people, most comfortable I've ever felt inside a business. I was skeptical at first, but I was quickly won over by the amazing community and great ambiance. The place feels like you're over at a friends house. Lots of local artists, community driven events. You can bring your own outside food, and they have snacks for sale. If you have been drinking alcohol please come back when you're not under the influence and enjoy yourself. Seriously amazing place would be 5 stars in my book but one of the employees makes me feel unsafe. If things change I will update my review. read more

Owner was awful. Will never go back or will support this business again after 5 years. I brought my elderly father to try kava for the first time and to show him a kava bar that is close to his house so he could get some kratom drinks to help with his back pain. As we were getting our drinks and I saw a promotional banner text being used by the bar that should not be used to promote kratom. It was a small blurb talking about how red vein kratom helps with pain management. Which under FDA regulation, you are not allowed to do as a kratom provider/ vendor/ bartender as you are making medical claims of a product not endorsed or regulated by the FDA. This issue could have been resolved by just removing the two lines or texts or even just ignoring my words and going about her day like we never spoke. But..... No that was not the case. When the owner came to talk to me. First thing she said was "who am I to be questioning her marketing". (I have 15 years in the kratom industry.) And that is ok for her to make these claims as she is not providing medical advice and she is just a users. Also, that it is appropriate because Mac Haddow (current spokes person of the American Kratom Association) (the guy my best friend /business partner voted in to be the spokes person of the organization) says it is ok to do. I said "well you may remember who I am as the former owner gave me kratom trees (that he reached out to me to donate)." She then remembered me and called me by my name. Retorting that I basically stole the trees because they were given without her permission. And that I owed her free cuttings. Realizing that nothing positive was going to come out of continuing the conversation. I took my $30 in purchased goods and my fathers $20 in purchased goods and left the bar. While being shouted at as we left. This isn't the fist time I have had a negative experience with this person as she has been rude every single time I have been in her business. My brother (who has also visited the place without me) has said similar things about her. I have never liked her but always wanted to be nice as I didn't take it too personally and could just be a miss understanding. After 5 years of visiting this place, never expecting anything for free, paying for my way, and looking to actively support the bar by bringing new patrons. I will never go back to that place and they are black listed in my book. On further note, the bar tender was really nice and helpful and even told us about a drag night that he was hosting and was excited to host. And was just trying to be helpful. I do not blame him for anything that happened. Monday is a weird day for a business to be closed. The ambiance in Manna Tea is that of a garage/warehouse, which looks like it is surface-level cleaned daily, but upon further examination has dirt and grime in every corner nook and cranny. The couches feel as though someone has been sleeping on them for weeks without showering, and there is a fish tank with a turtle that appears to be dead in it. When I walked in, there was no music playing, so once I received my drink it felt like I was just sitting in an echoing warehouse with manatees painted on the walls. Strange vibes. Service was great though. Drinks aren't super strong, the kava was a bit chalky/had some kava bits in it. There are other kava bars in the area that provide a more welcoming and cozy environment. read more

If you are looking for a cool atmosphere with friendly people and high quality kava and kratom (and kombucha too) this is the place! Great vibes and the owners even organize eco-trips for their customers to local Florida waterways. At the end of March they are planning to do turtle counts to help with conservation efforts. They have a pool table, open mic night, games and a patio. A lot of people like to sketch or draw at the bar and it's a great comfortable place where you can meet other friendly people. This is the best kava bar in the Manatee/Sarasota area hands down! Good vibes and even better kava and tea. Manna has all the fun activities you could want, inside and outside, including video games, board games, bocce ball, cornhole, a full size pool table, coloring/drawing station, tree swing, darts, so much more! It's beautiful, spacious and comfy inside and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Manna Tea has daily drink specials and nightly activities like open mic night. Oh and did I mention they now serve the most delicious sushi, fried rice, dumplings and other Asian goodness from the full kitchen?!? This is the perfect spot- 10 outta 10 highly recommend! I love this tea place. It's nice to have a kava bar to visit locally, as opposed to having to drive out to St.Pete. There are many creative concoctions to drink here, it's awesome. The owners are well-versed in kava, herbs and teas. So, you can always drink something that fits your needs. It's a good place to chill out and relax for a bit. And they have cool events. The owners are super nice; it's awesome to see a husband and wife working together on something that they both have a passion for. I wish this business the best! read more

I come here almost every day to study, and I'm usually there for hours. The owners are amazing people. I have never had a bad experience-or drink-here. I'm very happy I stopped into this place. I will be back and telling everyone about it. I appreciate the sign on the front door professing the establishment as a place where people can partake in Kratom, Kava and CBD products without the narcotic element alongside. It has a very open and soothing vibe inside. I bought my first cup of Green Kratom tea and a cup of Red to take home with me. Kyle helped me pick out which ones to try first. I was intimidated by all of the info I found online and I was really happy that the experience at Manna Tea was exactly what I was hoping to have. I felt pain relief in my sciatica after about 20 minutes and I didn't feel loopy in any way. I wanted to try the white strain but he suggested that I hold off until next time. The green was very mild. I know the consensus in the younger Recovery community has been hoping for a place like this to open so I hope to spread the word amongst my friends! read more
