Chicken Pad See Ew: big flat noodles, eggs, broccoli, and carrots
    Savannah R.

I visited Manna Thai in North Highlands, CA [4980 Watt Ave] on Sunday, 06/01/25, around 1 PM. For the appetizer, I decided to order the Laos Sausages. They were made with ground pork, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves garlic, and chili peppers. The flavor profile was tasty and I enjoyed every single bite. The sausages tasted great with the sauce provided. For the entree, I got the Chicken Pad See Ew. It included big flat noodles, eggs, broccoli, and carrots. The portion of the plate was gigantic and filling. The dish was amazing. The inside of the restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. The service was friendly and attentive. The music played throughout my entire dining experience was entertaining. Overall, I enjoyed visiting this restaurant. I'd return here in the future for wonderful Thai food.

You can see all the peppers in the yellow curry, I have never in my life had a yellow curry that looked this and with this heat level.

I was there last customer of the night today, for a to go order. Yellow curry chicken, fried shrimp rolls and beef pad Thai. They asked me what spice level, I said medium. Took it home, sat down and was able to get about four bites in. Threw away the curry and pad thai, just ate the egg rolls. I enjoy spicy food, it looks like the chef must have accidentally dropped the whole spice rack in my food. Not edible. I regret that I tipped. In the photo below you can see how many peppers were in the curry. Unbelievable.

This cozy little restraint served huge portions! Our waiter was super nice! Despite it being a hot day and us drinking our water so quick, our cups were never empty. I ordered pad Thai, which was served very fresh and warm. They served a big portion of it. It was a little too sweet for my liking, but besides that it was a very delicious plate..

The pictures on the windows do not fully represent how great looking and tasting the meals are We were amazed on how good the meals are. This place should have much more traffic The Thai spring rolls are just fantastic Thai Basil is a so tasty and delicious. You can't go wrong with this place. Highly recommend!!!!!!

This was the worst, most inauthentic "Thai" food I've ever had. It came to $50 for cold shrimp rolls, soup, and mango sticky rice. The cold rolls were the size of a burrito, but all lettuce. There were 2-3 shrimp, that were not fresh, and that cost almost $13. The coconut soup was too sweet, and just blah. The mango sticky rice was awful, the mango had no flavor and was stringy, and the rice was drenched in condensed milk like pudding. I should have known better when I walked through the door and there were no Thai employees, just a white lady. I feel ripped off. My stomach doesn't feel good either! Blech.

This place is so NICE! I came here on a Monday at 12:30pm and it wasn't busy. The lady behind the counter was very attentive and very friendly when I was ordering. I got the yellow curry and a huge Thai tea which was soo delicious I came back a few days later! I didn't take a picture but I also got the sticky rice which was so good. Definitely recommend!

I am giving this place four out of five stars. The food portions for the price was excellent. It does seem a little offputting being the only ones in the restaurant in the restaurant being in such an odd location, but the food was absolutely worth it. I ordered the drunken noodles, and they were delicious lots of vegetables and a lot of meat which is really nice. The Thai tea was really really well-made! This is a great place if you want to bring your family for dinner or if you want to just do takeout. Biggest recommendation-order the spring rolls!

Sometimes this spells out trouble because I want to order the whole menu instead of a sensible amount of food. On my latest visit I ordered takeout and got the Tom Kha Soup with tofu ($13.50), Green Curry with tofu ($13.50), Kao Soy ($13.50), House Chow Fun with tofu ($13.50), Thai Tea ($4.50), and Thai Iced Coffee ($4.50). It was a lot of food, but I've learned House of Thai Rice & Noodle is best enjoyed family style where you get to enjoy a few things. The pricing is very reasonable for the portions and the flavor on the dishes is so good! I don't know what they do with their Chow Fun, but the noodles were so flavorful, soft and fluffy and didn't need any extra sauce. The Tom Kha soup is a comfort food for me and this is always a great option. I forgot to order rice with my curry, but eating it like a soup is equally satisfying. The Kao Soy was flavorful and the noodles were great with the broth and toppings. I've dined in and gotten take out and both are great experiences. The team here is so friendly and welcoming. When I order takeout, I typically order at the restaurant and wait and they always have me sit at a table and offer water or another drink while I wait. I do love dining in because the dishes are at their freshest and it makes for better photos. The dining are has plenty of seats and it comfortable. The plaza also has plenty of parking, but the spots nearest to the restaurant tend to fill up. If you're thinking about stopping here, try it, you won't be disappointed!

I've tried a lot of spots around here since I work nearby, and this has been on my list for a while because of how highly it's regarded. It was busy at lunchtime, but we were seated immediately and brought iced waters. The menu is huge with a lot of great classic options. We ordered the angel wings (personal favorite), pad see ew with fried tofu, and red curry with fried tofu and rice. Everything came out very quickly and was nicely plated. The curry had a great mix of vegetables, always love the tender eggplant the most, and it was rich, but not overly heavy, with great flavor. The pad see ew was also delicious, smokey, and had a nice mix of cabbage and broccoli, which I've never seen before but actually really liked. It was nice getting something other than just straight noodles. Angel wings are a longtime favorite and brought me right back to childhood dinners at Thai restaurants with my family. Not every spot has them, so I had to order them when I saw them on the menu. They were delicious, just how I remembered, and plated nicely with a light, flavorful sauce. The food overall was excellent and service was attentive. My only note is I should've asked for spice. I think they assumed we didn't want any heat, which is probably typical for most people, but I definitely prefer some spice in my Thai food and I appreciate when they ask. We were also two people at a six-person table since that's all that was available, so felt a little bad about that. Toward the end, they sat a single diner with us, which was a bit awkward to be honest, but luckily we were finishing up. Overall really good experience. Just remember to ask for spice if you want it, and maybe consider takeout if it's busy and don't want to share a table.

It was fun trying somewhere new as we usually go to our favorites. The ambiance is spectacular. If you can get one of the side tables under the overhang with the wine bottle chandelier you'll love it. Here's what we ordered: Borscht with Beef: Traditional red soup made with beets, beef, garden vegetables topped with sour cream- To me it didn't look appetizing, but it's a traditional dish so we split a cup. We didn't have much hope that would be edible. We were blown away trying it. It was actually good. We were shocked. It was so good. It was filled with pieces of tomatoes and beets and huge tender chucks of beef. Spinach Blini-Gluten free, vegetarian, 6 blintzes filled with spinach and creamy white sauce. We really enjoyed these Spinach Blini. They were very rich. I could only eat two to them and took the third one with me to share with my husband. He really liked it and wish there was more. I really wanted to get the Cherry Blini, but we were too full even though we shared an entree. I'm so disappointed as they looked so good. Unfortunately, after giving it two separate chances, I don't think I'll be coming back. The first time I tried Fukumi Ramen was about six months ago. We got on the waiting list and were told we'd receive a text when our table was ready. After waiting longer than the estimated time, we went back inside only to be told we weren't actually on the waiting list. Frustrating, but we decided to give it another shot and asked to be added again. After waiting even longer, we came back only to find out we still hadn't been put on the list. By that point, nearly an hour had passed, we were hungry, and we ended up leaving. I understand technology issues happen, but it was disappointing, especially when we watched people who arrived after us get seated before us. A few months later, we decided to try again. This time we were seated, but the experience still wasn't great. We asked if any booth seating was available because the bar-style seating isn't very comfortable for us. We were told there weren't any available at the moment, but that they would transfer us when one opened up. When a booth became available, it was immediately given to another party that arrived after us. When we asked about it, we were told we would have needed to be on a waitlist for a booth. That wasn't communicated to us beforehand. We asked to be added to the booth waitlist, but despite several booths opening throughout our meal, nobody ever followed up with us again. The ramen itself was okay, but the tonkotsu ramen was much spicier than I expected. The menu didn't clearly indicate the spice level, and I wasn't aware that the spice couldn't be adjusted. I later found out I would have needed to request the spicy component on the side. I think having clearer menu descriptions and spice-level information would help avoid that confusion. Not the employees' fault, just disappointing. Between the waiting list issues during my first visit and the lack of communication during my second visit, I left feeling more frustrated than satisfied. I felt like I was really annoying the staff both times and there was no remedy or explanation offered for the issues. As someone who has worked a lot in customer service I know how it feels to be on the other end of a difficult customer and I truly wasn't trying to be a jerk :( I know many people love this place, but after two disappointing experiences, I don't see myself returning.
