Manny's is a place I'm always happy to take my kids to, and especially on Thursday night for their pizza specials! The daily specials are amazing, as well, and there is so much to choose from! My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE coming here...and that is why we keep coming back! The food is always delicious! I've never had anything here that I didn't like! The owners are AMAZING and have truly become great friends! They spoil my kids when we go for lunch or dinner (even playing video games with them) and I've seen them do the same for so many others, both young and old! They are genuinely interested in their patron's lives and are just all around great people to associate with! I'm so grateful to my friends who brought me there the first time...I've been enjoying Manny's ever since! It's like every person that returns (even just once) is treated like Norm returning to Cheers! The restaurant/bar is also a great place to hang with friends, Karaoke, host a party or fundraiser, etc. I have literally done all of these things! Don't bring your kids here. I've been in this place several times since this current owner has taken over. It's fine, nothing special, good bar food and decent beer specials. It was all fine till I brought my kids in to watch a Bears game. Some strange man kept coming up to our table and touching our kids hair. It was super creepy. I asked the server to close our tab to leave instantly, and told her of the situation. She told me not to worry, because the man was the owner. That made my decision not to come back so much easier. Never again, kids or not. Unacceptable. read more

Very pleasant surprise and willing to bet the next time, this becomes a four star. A really nice atmosphere with a hustling barkeep donning a friendly, hard working demeanor. Cleaned up a lot from it's previous life and food is well above average (best pretzels this side of any mall). Sign outside for "Grand Opening" $2 burgers special. We were frequent customers at Elmhurst Public House ready to try it out. Stood around for seating until we were finally greeted. Server tried to talk us out of $2 burger to get $8 burger with fries. $2 burger came with NOTHING, not even a pickle. Burger was over cooked, fries were average at best, Iced tea was $3.00. They had a pretty expansive menu, for what seemed like a pretty humble-looking pub. They had a good selection of beers on taps, and a creative batch of signature cocktails. Their poutine was pretty good, and their calamari - though still a little too oily - was tasty. I wish I had more time to try out the rest of their main courses, because my Reuben sammich was excellent. I'm looking forward to coming back, sometime, and trying more of their menu. read more

Service here is okay. being that we were the only people in the restaurant. Waiting forever on drink refills. I CLEARLY asked for a New York steak and recieved a steak sandwich instead. Then the waitress argued with me about what I ordered. When she went back to fix her mistake we heard her talk to another person about it saying how i didn't order that and making rude comments. When my fixed order came out but the side was wrong. I was starving so I just dealt with it. The manager came over and finally refilled our drinks. My husband and I love this place! The food is very good and love the pizza! We live in Elmhurst and we would much rather come here than to any of the bars downtown Elmhurst. The owner Manny is awesome and always greets us right away! This is our go to bar for sure! read more

My husband and I were there Thursday night. The place was on fire. It was a karaoke night and I have to admire the service, the food and how clean it was. They have an amazing fish tank too!! Even though was so busy everything was on time and cooked perfect. My cheeseburger was fantastic and my husband loved the N.Y. steak. As appetizer we ordered hummus plate, ( exelaint ), and buffalo wings ( delicious ). The manager came around and asked us how everything was and if they satisfy our expectations. I stopped in (first visit) cause I was buying wine next door and was really really hungry. I dislike 'sports' bars and pubs for the most part, so, I decided to check out the menu and get something to take home. It was 3 pm / Saturday - a few patrons watching 'sports' on screens. I took a seat at the bar and asked for a take out menu. I asked for a recommendation and settled on a burger. I checked out the beer list and decided to order a brew while I waited. The barkeep, named Clay, was so polite and genuinely 'nice' and attentive that I felt totally at ease. There was some nice blues station on and so I was content to sip my porter (from Eugene) and talk to Clay a little about some of my favorite porters. That experience was nice enough but when I got home and tasted the burger, I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have high expectations. On first bite, the burger was perhaps a little more cooked than I requested, and maybe a little less seasoned than I hoped. But that was all fine in the end, because the overall quality of the burger, with the steamed bun, toppings, seasoned fries, and slaw was pretty close to perfect as pub food goes. Seriously one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. And actually, although I had to add a little salt, I would rather add than have food that is over salted. My little mantra on Yelp is "hold the salt". Well done Manny's Ale House! read more

Recently moved to the neighborhood and I have driven past almost daily since. Looking for a casual meal and after weighing our options on Yelp, my husband and I decided to try Manny's for the first time. The atmosphere is laid back and comfy. They have a ton of tvs and when we walked in they had some college basketball on with no sound but some house music playing. Once the Bulls game started however they did turn the tv sound on. Great place to watch a game! The restaurant was very clean and has a good vibe. Our waitress greeted us right away and took our drink order. They have an impressive variety of bottles and draught beer and good daily drink specials! I ordered the Mediterranean burger and fries and my husband had the steak sandwich. Holy feta! The burger was pretty good and filling. My husband liked his steak sandwich too and says he would order it again. The place was quiet for a Saturday night but it was perfect for us, we where in and out in less than an hour. Our waitress was nice and attentive even though she seemed to have the entire floor and several parties came in while we were eating. The whole place is a lot bigger than I originally thought, and they have a party room in the back! We plan to frequent the spot for a cold beer and some grub again soon! read more

The Ale House. Not sure they have an identity. The food at this place is just OK. Its pricy and not worth what they charge. I ordered the sliders.. After 20 minutes they finally arrived. They were obviously sitting around for a while because they were not warm. The female bartender was not friendly or engaging at all. No real management training obviously. She appeared to be just doing her job. The atmosphere is sparce . Sure its clean and all...I just get the feeling its missing something. I've been to this place twice now and sorry to say my last. Nothing here to write home about. For now this place will survive on the novelty of a new spot and holdovers from the old Elmhurst public house. I give this place a year at best and then good night. I called and asked if they'd have the football game on with volume over the sounds system. They said yes, but when I showed up, the same guy said they wouldn't do it because he wanted to keep the music on. They also advertised $2 burgers, but when we tried to order it, he said it was actually an extra small patty with no bun or condiments. He then said we should order the regular burgers for $10. In summary, the entire experience was a bait and switch. It's no wonder their parking lot is nearly empty each time I drive by. read more

So I've been here thrice within the fortnight which I guess means I'm becoming somewhat of a regular here - at least when I'm in town. The first time I had the Mexico burger, which you can read about in my prior review. The second I had the meatloaf, which was pretty good. The mashed potatoes are made from real potatoes, not flakes. Bonus points for that, but the plate was lacking color. It could have used a vegetable of some sort. Last night I came again for the pulled pork and a couple of Sapporos, which (again) were on special for $2.50. The sandwich was quite tall, as it was piled high with onion tanglers. The pork was brushed with a sweet BBQ sauce and was pretty good, though I'd have preferred a mustard style sauce myself (I'm from the south). It was pretty busy for once, but I attribute that to the Blackhawks game being on. Service was still pretty good though. Overall it was an inexpensive yet oddly satisfying dinner. I still don't really care for the cole slaw though, but that's just me. If you're looking for a decent pub to go to, Manny's is the place to be. The food could be better, yes, but it's worth the price. The staff is attentive, though not flirty, and the beer is cold. I give it a solid 4 stars. read more

Stopped in this place for some drinks, but ended up ordering some food. This was over 7 months ago. Since then I probably stop in at least once a week because something is always new. So impressed with how clean it is compared to the Public House! They have different events featured during the week to appeal to different crowds. Some coin games and multiple TVs inside for sporting events. A backroom that can be reserved for parties. A beautiful and clean fish tank that separates the bar from the dining area. Not only that, but their food is amazing. I absolutely love their fries and bruschetta burger, mouth watering. Daily soup and entree specials. The owners are always around and personally greet you and make sure your experience is nothing, but the best. Manny always has great recommendations if you aren't sure what to drink and they always have amazing drink specials. Especially their $4draft special. It's a great chance to try those speciality brews. Their wait staff goes out of their way to get to know you and give personal service. My elderly parents who are very choosy about the restaraunts they go to love this place. Manny and Demetri are so patient with them and make sure their experience is nothing but the best! I love that they actually care about their customers and actually go out of their way. Definitely recommend this place! Something for everyone!!! read more

I really wanted to like this place but I just don't. The staff was super friendly and the chili was good but that's where it stops. Their nachos were odd with what seemed like canned nacho cheese then shredded on top. Will I give it another go? We've been trying to find new places in the area and always forget about this one. Decided to give them a try when we only had the youngest of our kiddos. It was pretty dead for a Wednesday night. We arrived there around 630. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they had half price on selected appetizers. Hubby ordered the hot wings (10). He likes hot wings just not the vinegar kind which those are I guess. He said he'd get them again as BBQ or teriyaki. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. It comes with pita chips. It was really good and there was plenty left for lunch the next day. Dinner for my hubby was the Rueben with fries and coleslaw. The Rueben had just the right amount of sauerkraut. The fries were big seasoned wedge twisted fries. They were awesome I had 2 and would of stole more if he hadn't finished them first. I had the southwest salad minus jalapeño. It comes with a Chipotle ranch dressing which had a little more bite then most of the ones I've had before but it was good. I added some regular ranch to it to calm it down a little. Their ranch is the kind I like too, regular not buttermilk. We took a look around it's been open under new owners for 2 years now. Same lay out without the booths, and everything has an updated look. Brought our son to look at the fish tank which he loved. We had a great waitress and a waitress that was training. We met one of the owners who was bartender that night Manny. He was a sweetheart and took an adorable picture of our little guy through the other side of the fish tank. We'll definitely be back and tell our friends and family to join us. I think our next visit we'll have to try their breakfast buffet the owner told us they have on Sundays. If you haven't given them a try you should. read more

Had lunch here a few days ago. This was my third visit and all have been very good. Recently had the Mexican Burger, WOW, peppers and super guac on a perfectly cooked 1/2 lb. burger. The tater tots with it were awesome. Had two glasses of the house Cab which was fine a served at a good price with a very generous pour. I will be back soon. read more

So I just moved to the area less than a month ago and I've been looking for a bar close by with a good beer selection and good pub food, and this, my friends is the place. Manny's has an easy going ambience, friendly staff (clay the bartender was great), and their burgers are honestly way above any standard bar food that I've had in some time (and their fries are ridiculously good too). This is the second Monday in a row I've come up here and I'm sure this is the start of a great relationship.
