The food was average, and the service was terrible. I ordered the rib-eye beef fajitas. They were over-cooked and bland, but not horrible. The grilled onions on the fajitas were quite good. Our first batch of chips was so stale that we kindly asked for more. It took forever just to get more chips - and they were only okay. The service was just awful, and I'm actually pretty patient/forgiving when it comes to poor service. It was a Wednesday night, so it wasn't unusually crowded - but our waiter was missing in action for most of the night. It took a very long time for him to bring us our iced tea, and the food took even longer to get to us. Many, many tables got their drinks and food before us even though the patrons showed up well after us. Our waiter often completely forgot things that we asked for. The waiter forgot to bring us silverware even though we asked for it three times. We finally had to go to the bar to get some ourselves. Similar story with the chips. And our drinks. And the salad dressing that he forgot to bring with a salad. What's worse is that when we'd finally politely ask a nearby waiter for some help - that waiter wouldn't do anything either. I eat out a lot, and I've never been to a restaurant where so much of the waitstaff seemed like they just didn't care. So this place needs a complete reboot and retraining of the wait staff. There's just too many good Mexican restaurants in the area now - with great service - like Meso Mayo and Mariano's. I doubt I'll give Manny's a second try. read more

Food was good, their salsa is light-years better than any other tex mex places around town. I just come for the salsa sometimes. But what makes this place shine is the SERVICE. I've been here a few times now and every time we've had a wonderful server who comes to verify we're ok and answer any questions. Ours last night on the patio was very polite and very helpful. Inside can get a little crowded depending on the time of day, the patio has plenty of fans and shade if the weather is nice. Overall, it's an easy location to get to and a nice fit for our tex mex dinners. read more

I cannot say enough about Manny's. From the food to the service, 5 stars plus. They don't take reservations but we called ahead to let them know a large group of 10 would be coming as we were celebrating my father's 80th birthday. We took balloons, table decorations and a cake. They had no problem allowing us to "take over" the back corner. The size of the group did not slow down service yet nor were we rushed. Manuel (I hope I remember that correctly) oversaw our table and constantly checked in to see if all was well and ensured we were cared for. We were kinda high maintenance and he didn't bat an eye. He helped with the cake and all the staff joined in singing happy birthday. We had such a wonderful time and all left feeling it was the perfect place to celebrate my father. My wife and I tried Manny's for the first time last Thursday night. We were seated right away and got our chips and salsa. Chips were good, not greasy nor too salty. Salsa was decent although served cold. We ordered Margaritas on the rocks. Not impressed. They tasted OK, just weak. Hardly tasted any tequila. Food was pretty good. Wife had the mole enchiladas. I had the brisket tacos. We really enjoyed it. Flan for dessert was good, not great. Main reason for the 3 star rating was the service. Or should I say, lack thereof. Two different managers stepped in to help the waiter, which we appreciated otherwise it would have been truly horrible. And the place was not that busy. One of my favorite restaurants, brisket tacos are delicious, fajitas come out sizzling, all the times I've gone (mainly to this location) the food is warm. The waiters/waitresses always have a smile on their face and check up on us, we're never missing anything. The managers are always walking through the tables and checking if anyone need any refills. We went for lunch today, it was late 2:00, so not very busy. Got our food before we got chips and hot sauce. We were in a booth, the waiter was waiting on the booth behind us and dropped their sour cream which went all over me. The waiter apologized and brought me another napkin, but not another word from him or anyone else. I was covered in sour cream, on my pants, sweater, scarf, it was even on the booth and wall across from me. I know it was an accident, but a follow up from the waiter or manager would of been nice. I feel waiting 15 minutes for chips and salsa is a little extreme. The food was excellent though!! read more

This Manny's location has become a go-to place for us since it is close by and our kids take classes in this shopping center. It's a great place to get pretty good Tex Mex food and drinks with two small kids in tow. The staff is always very friendly and provides good service and I've never had a dish there I did not like after trying a few different things. My 3 friends and I went on a Thursday night. It was very loud with people and music. Our waiter seemed frustrated and could not hear my order even as I tried to describe the simple hall order of guacamole to go with my taco dinner. The order came and my friend's order was placed before me. My guacamole came not as a salad but in a heavy black bowl. The tacos were fine. When I received my bill, it said the guacamole was $7.99. I asked the waiter and he said that's how it comes. I told him I ordered a half order of guacamole salad and he then told me they don't have that--so he brought 1/2 table order and it was $7.99. I spoke with the manager and he apologized and said he'd take $4 off. I said take $3 off and I'd be happy so he did. After our waiter cashed our table out and we sat visiting at our table, I realized my credit card was not there. Our waiter used mine for my bill but we all saw there was no credit card. We all looked on the table, under the table, in our purses and shook the napkins and rechecked inside the bill folder where my bill was and credit card was supposed to be. I called our waiter and the manager over to ask about the location of my credit card and all 6 of us had looked under the table. I left my name and number as the manager said it might be on the floor and when the mopping was done at closing, it could turn up. Once home, I dumped my purse out and realizing the card was gone I closed my credit card account. At 11 o'clock my phone rang and the manager said my card was found under our table. I told him there was NO WAY that six of us did not see it IF it was under our table. He agreed he didn't see it and hard to miss as it's blue. He said he was sorry. No compensation. My visit was Manny's was not a relaxing experience and frustrating when my card was lost. My take on it is that the card was not returned to me by my waiter and thrown under our table once we left for the bus boys to find. I am very disappointed in how this whole evening was and in the lack of good customer service in a matter concerning a lost credit card at billing. I will NOT be going back to the Mockingbird location of Manny's. read more

I really like the food here, but on this visit, they shorted me on shredded cheese for my crispy tacos. I asked for a small side of cheese for my second taco. They charged me $2 for a small bowl of shredded cheese. I only used 1/4 of the cheese in the small bowl. When we received the bill, I asked to speak to the manger. After about 10 minutes of waiting for the manager, we finally left. I think this is a very unreasonable price for a side of grated cheese, and shame on that manager for never showing up! read more

Do NOT waste your time or money! This location is nothing like the Uptown Dallas location. Not in a million years. The staff here is horrible, beyond horrible actually. Esp the Managers! We ordered a To Go here, as we had multiple times in the past. My husband went to pick up and bought home. We were entertaining our in-laws and when we opened the To Go boxes of fajitas - we ordered 3 orders of chicken and 3 orders of beef along with queso. A $120 tab. The 3 chicken fajitas boxes has 2 chicken fajitas slices on them and the beef had about 6-10 slices. We called Manny's and let them know this must of been a mistake and I was on my way to get the 3 orders. The person whom answered the phone was the one that gave my husband the order and he apologized and I ran back to Manny's to pick up the order. When I got there- the guy said- I told my manager and he wont let me place the order for you. I asked to speak with him. He came and asked where the To Go boxes were... I said- they are at home. My husband was just here 10 minutes ago and we called and I came to get the full order. He said he wouldn't be able to help me- that unless he saw PROOF of the missing fajitas. Ha! I seriously thought he was joking- as we had 7 hungry people at our house waiting for our order. He proceeded to call me LIAR and that he wouldn't do anything unless he had proof. He suggested I have my husband take a picture of the missing fajitas or I go home, get the box and come back. NEVER again!!!!!!!! I will never ever ever be back and have told our whole neighborhood and friends. This place is terrible!!!!!! I then drove down the street to Mariano's Hacienda off Skillman and got our food. It is 1 month later and I am still waiting for the "head manager" to call me back regarding my experience and the $120 charge after multiple phone calls. read more

First time at any Manny's location. I assume their menu/pricing is probably the same or similar at all of them. They've only been open at this location for a few days (I think) so there were a few not unexpected kinks in the service. For example, no hostess, so getting a table was just a free for all, and our server seemed a little over extended, but the food was good and more reasonably priced than Mariano's and whatever Mexican place was here before Rex's. We'll definitely be back! Excited to have them in the neighborhood. read more

Average, average, average. We've been twice for a weekend lunch and made one attempt at a Friday night dinner. Post church lunch is quick and easy. Seating and service was quick. Food was average Tex Mex. Decent but not overwhelming. The Friday night dinner attempt still gives me nightmares. I arrived at 5:45 for my group of 4 and got on the list. There was a 30 minute wait according to the hostess. I stood for 20 minutes with screaming, screeching, wailing, ear shattering children shoved in to every nook and cranny. I finally returned my buzzer and said we will try somewhere else. At that time we were still at the bottom of the wait list. If you're looking for average Tex Mex on a non weekend night then go to Manny's. If you want something a bit more upscale then go across to Meso Maya. If you want some peace and quiet, Bodega Wine Bar is also across the street and allows you to bring in food. read more

We just got home from Manny's. Okay, easy stuff. Parking is easy, it's just down Mockingbird from our house. We arrived on a Saturday night around 7 and at first, the service was not so great. We got chips and salsa, but no water and no drink order for about 10 minutes. But after that, WOW! Charlie was our waiter. We ordered guac and it was made fresh and we got to choose our ingredients (no onion, no jalapenos). My preferred margarita is no sweet stuff, and Charlie listened and suggested a skinny margarita with no agave. It was perfect. When I ordered a cheese enchilada, Charlie remembered that I did not want onions in the guac, so asked me if onions were ok in the enchilada. The service was awesome from that point and the food is great if you are looking for some good Tex Mex. read more

Food was okay until I went to the restroom. If you go into the men's stall they have a trash can where people put their used toilet paper. I had no appetite after that. I don't want to look at someone's turd paper. Also, who in their right mind wipes their ass then puts the toilet paper in a trash can, I'm sorry but that's disgusting. Won't return. read more

We had lunch there today Cinco de Mayo, we went late about 1:30 or so and it wasn't crowded at all, the patio maybe but not inside. We have been here many times but our experience today was sub-par at best and was all service related. We ordered quest as a starter and had to ask about it about 4 times before we got it while other table that came in after us were served. On one entree sour cream was requested and we were told no problem but it wasn't on the plate we told the server and he said OK at that time we asked for some lime as well. Again, we had to remind the server 4 or 5 times about both and finally the lies were delivered but no sour cream, we asked another waiter and he said OK and sent our waiter over and he told us he was really busy!! There were more empty table that those with patrons. We finally got the sour cream. The next time we saw the waiter we asked for the bill , he was exasperated! So, he finally got the bill and guess what he charged us $2.00 for the sour cream and then we sat for another 10 minutes before another waiter asked if we wanted him to take the credit card and check and from that moment on, he took care of us. This kind of service will not be tolerated for long. read more
