A sampling from the all-you-can-eat buffet bar
Matt P.

This is a relatively new Indian restaurant on the southwest end Archer Road as you start to head towards Archer, FL. Living just down the road, I saw the signs as the restaurant was being prepared to open. I checked it out with a friend on a Sunday for their all you can eat brunch. It was fantastic! For someone like me who doesn't have that much experience with Indian foods, this was a great way to try many options at once. The staff was attentive to both our table and to filling the buffet bar, where all the options were hot and flavorful. Without a doubt I would check it out again.

Wrong address on yelp do not go into the trailer park. Google it and find the correct address just down the road. The is place is beautifully decorated. We got the lunch buffet which I tend to avoid but so hungry. Glad I did I got to try lots of their dishes all at once. We had the place to ourselves unfortunately for the owners. Maybe dinner gets a bigger crowd. The server was wonderful. Around if we needed him but not hanging over us. Would come again if ever in the area. Nice looking bar but we didn't order anything.

Visited with some friends for a Sunday afternoon lunch. The buffet was stocked very well and the food was all delicious! The server kept our waters filled and was very polite. The inside of this restaurant is decorated beautifully! It was a very fun and relaxing experience with delicious food. 10 out of 10 recommended! I can't wait to come back for a nice dinner one evening.

Vandy was our server and she helped us select several dishes that were all absolutely delicious! We enjoyed talking with her and she set the tone for a delightful experience. We tried two curries, tandoori shrimp, two breads and adult beverages! It was a feast. We will be back for the fresh and tasty food and also because of fantastic service. The decor is also wonderful - casually elegant with carved wooden wall hangings and interior design that understands lighting and mood. We hung out for ages and had a great evening.

Excited to try a fine dining Indian restaurant on Archer Rd! The ambiance and decor is so so lovely inside and it's definitely a nicer dinner vibe. We ordered naan, biryani, mango lassi, and falooda. The naan was phenomenal! Definitely fresh and the perfect texture. Biryani was good but there's something off about the rice I can't quite put my finger on. Mango lassi was good as well. I was very excited to the try the falooda as it's one of my favorite desserts and not many Indian restaurants offer it. I'm so sad to report it was not it and not worth the order. A traditional falooda is a layered dessert with ice cream, rose syrup, vermicelli noodles, basil seeds, and milk. It is supposed to resemble a halo-halo almost. The falooda I received was simply rose syrup mixed into milk with basil seeds floating in it and what looks like microwave ramen noodles. Aside from that, the naan is a must have and the curries seemed good as well.

Our first time at this restaurant. Service was simply fantastic. Decor of the restaurant is really a step above most of the places in the Gainesville area especially for Indian food. I would definitely consider this a date night location. Food was fantastic and really enjoyable. The garlic naan is enough to make an Italian cry with joy. No question we will definitely be back as this will be our new favorite Indian restaurant in Gainesville.

Amazing butter chicken

Food service and ambiance is amazing. Butter chicken is wonderful. Everything in the menu is great.

Punjabi Tawa Fish Curry - Yum! A manageable spicy. These are leftovers. Naan on the side was inhaled. Aesthetic is on point.

Punjabi Fish Curry (salmon) was delicious and the least spicy definitely had a kick to it, but it was a yummy, manageable spicy. Aesthetically pleasing and creative. I ate half with a side of garlic naan and had plenty of leftovers.

Wow! An amazing meal and the staff are absolutely wonderful. We came for lunch and were surprised to see a buffet! Hard to find these days and it was absolutely delicious! The full menu looks amazing too. Time to come try the best Indian food in town!

Wish I could remember what the others ordered.

Great Indian cuisine. Spicy flavors as requested. Able to make multiple meals with the portions served. Comfy chairs, too.

Following a visit to the labyrinthian VA facility in Gainesville, my wife and I were considering…read morelunch options. In looking at Yelp, we were drawn to the Indian Street Food place. Located along a building with another Indian restaurant and market and even a Vietnamese restaurant, this place has plenty of parking and quite spacious inside. We love Indian food and are always open to trying out new restaurants. We have not been to India (on the list of countries we plan on visiting) so not familiar with the street food on their menu so we opted for the more familiar options. My wife ordered the Butter Chicken combo ($20.99) and I tried one of the chef's specials, Bhatti Ka Murg combo. The combo came with basmati rice, butter naan and a desert called Gulab Jamun. My wife's combo also came with a samosa. The butter chicken was good...that sauce, which turned out to be the same sauce for the bhatti ka murg, was full of flavor. The naan was OK...nothing special and we've had much better naan. The rice serving was a bit chintzy. The desert was OK. My dish had decent flavor but definitely better dipped in that sauce. Having to content with bones from chicken thigh meat and drum stick meant I had to work for it but not too bad. While our meals had good flavors, we thought flavors and portions we had at Amrit Palace in Ocala were just as good if not better with more generous portions. We would often have leftover food to take home after a meal at Amrit. Lunch for 2 with tip was just under $54.

Indian Street Food - Gainesville, FL…read more 3550 SW 34th St, Gainesville, FL If you're craving bold, authentic South Indian flavors in Gainesville, Indian Street Food is a must-visit. We stopped by recently and were blown away by how flavorful everything was--from the first bite to the last. What We Ordered: *Andhra Masala Dosa This dosa was perfection--thin, crisp edges with a hearty, spicy potato filling that hit all the right notes. The accompanying sambar and chutneys were fresh and full of depth. Truly reminded me of the kind you'd get back home or from a proper street stall in India. *Vada Golden, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside--these savory lentil fritters were served piping hot and paired beautifully with the coconut chutney. Comfort food at its finest. *Cut Mirchi A spicy, crunchy treat that packed a punch. These fried green chilies are not for the faint-hearted, but if you love heat and texture, you'll absolutely enjoy this one. Service & Vibe: The service was friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly, and the staff were helpful in explaining the dishes. The space is simple and unpretentious--exactly what you'd expect from a spot focused on delivering street-style flavor. Final Thoughts: Indian Street Food delivers exactly what the name promises. Each dish felt like a love letter to traditional South Indian snacks--bold, spicy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. If you're in Gainesville and looking for a taste of real Indian street food, this place should be high on your list.

Parking in the nearby free…read moregarage was perfect timing since many workers and patients of the nearby UF medical center had already left for the day. Only one other couple was dining in, and there were a lot of take out orders being picked up. The place was well-lit, clean, and had ample space. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Scout was our waitress and Deepak was the host. Menu has all the Indian cuisine staples that we expected - we ordered 3 orders of garlic naan, fried rice with veggies and egg, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi (potato & cauliflower side dish ) - all with medium spiciness - with mango lassi and masala Chai tea for drinks. While waiting for our orders, we washed our hands and the single-occupancy restrooms were clean and stocked. The only downside to the facilities in general are the slightly hard chairs / benches as these were possibly made with the intention of not spending too much time in the restaurant or for people with more natural padding in that area . The naan arrived about 10 minutes later, followed by the rest of the food. The naan was excellent - just the way we like it (not too soft, not too crunchy, with enough garlic oil for taste). The basmati rice was cooked just right in the individual bowls and also in the generous portion of the fried rice. It was my first time trying the aloo gobi, and I loved it! I never knew about this dish, and my husband said it was a must try. I also tasted his chicken tikka masala, and it was also made deliciously. The drinks were also great - mango lassi was fresh and not too sweet. Masala Chai tea was exactly how I imagined it would be. Overall, we spent around 1 hour and about $100 on our date here, including generous tip. We are glad to be repeat customers to try more dishes, and of course, enjoy more garlic naan .

When walking in, they had some old school Bollywood music videos. My order was taking quickly and I waited for about 10 minutes for my order. Once I got home, the food was still piping hot. I ordered the chana masala, which comes with basmati rice, and an order of samosas. The samosas were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They had a hint of spice but tolerable. The two sauces - tamarind and chutney were so good with the samosas. I wish I ordered more. The chana masala was very tasty, I went with medium heat since it was first time eating here. The spice was really good, I could've went hotter though. The masala was buttery and delightful. I could've drank the sauce it was that good. The chickpeas were cooked perfectly as well. The flavor profile of the dish was tangy but creamy. I wish I had some chicken tikka to throw in there. Overall a great take out meal and great portion sizes where you can stretch out these meals.

We were out at Shands for an appointment and found this restaurant on Yelp. It's not a fancy restaurant, more like a casual/comfort spot. The staff was super friendly and service was fast. We ordered Vegetable Samosas as an appetizer and they were huge and crispy with a nice amount of spice. The chutney that came with it was delicious. My husband had Butter Chicken and I had Chicken Tikka Masala. They're both similar dishes, except the Butter Chicken has cream in it and the Tikka is generally a bit spicy (theirs is mild). We ordered the Lunch portion and it was plenty of food. It comes with 1 side - either basmati rice or fresh Naan. I had the rice and he had the Naan. If you want to mix your dish and sauce with the rice - that's' a good way to go. My husband opted for using the bread to sweep up every last bit of sauce in his and loved it. If you order a dinner portion, you get 2 sides. I believe you can get a salad also, but that may only be with dinner (not sure). They also have a lunch buffet. We came around 4pm. They also have various non-alcoholic drinks. Food comes out in little metal pans (really kept it hot) and they give you plastic dishes for serving. The appetizers and bread came in little cardboard baskets (like you get at some places for fries). We were both full when we left. Next time I'm in Gainesville, I'll definitely be back. I want to try some of their other items also.
