I am new to the Houston area and had not had a hair cut for over a year and decided to give Marbella hair salon a shot after the great reviews I had come across on yelp and boy was I right! I walked into the salon and I felt v comfortable right away. Was greeted by Tim who did a phenomenal job on my hair. He was v. patient with my stubborn tresses and every strand of mine was v well taken care of to the tee. He was very receptive to what I wanted in a hair cut and his opinions only helped accentuate the beauty of my haircut. Every step of the cut was preceded by an explanation of what was to be expected so I was on board with what was going on which I thought was impressive because that's when you know they value the client's opinion + permission. He had also given me some advice on what products to use and not to use on my hair. Eduardo was also very welcoming and I enjoyed eaves dropping to the many conversations he had with the other clients both young and old - I was never bored! For those of you who are new to Houston, this is your go to salon! It may be a little pricey but it is totally worth it! You won't be disappointed:D have a great summer! read more

I have been living in Houston for a year now and could never find a salon or stylist that was priced reasonably (by my personal standards) AND had shared my vision for what I wanted for my hair. I met with Megan for the first time yesterday and LOVED her and her work. I had never done balayage before and was pretty nervous about it, but following the recommendation of a good friend I went to see Megan and am so glad that I did! Eduardo is so amazing! My mom had been wanting to get a haircut after her new hair began to grow out after chemo treatment. She was so hesitant and nervous but after seeing Eduardo cut hair on another client, she was convinced to get hers done as well. She had somewhat of an idea of what she wanted and Eduardo did an amazing job of explaining what would look good on her. Not only did he give her a gorgeous haircut but he also styled it and taught her how to do it as well. He is so down to earth and really listens to his clients and their vision. I came to Marbella as a birthday present for my mom. I heard great things and wanted us to have a new look. Both of us are very very picky when it comes to salons. We've been all over town over the years, but we haven't found a place our stylist we feel loyal to. Today i think we've found it. Mr. Bobby did mom's color, and Mr. Eduardo did my cut. I really wanted to like this place, but I never quite felt comfortable or welcomed by the front desk personnel. Patty did my facial and she was sweet, but I was hoping the extractions would have been done more thoroughly. She seemed pretty knowledgeable, but unfortunately, I've had much better facials. I'm not sure if it was due to the Dermalogica line (I'm a fan of Peter Thomas Roth and Bliss facials). She gave me some samples, which was great, but I didn't notice much of a difference like I usually do after a facial. I'd give Patty 4 stars, but the facility 1 star; hence the 3 star rating. read more

LaQuetta is a wunderkind with skin! She is a Dermalogica whiz and between her ministrations and the excellent product, my skin has never looked or felt better. Seriously. On top of being knowledgeable and thorough, she's also upbeat (w/o being annoyingly perky), friendly, oh-so-gentle. I went for a full 1 hr facial. One of the things I liked about LaQuetta is that she didn't try to upsell me and didn't insist that I come back in 2 weeks for another full facial to get my skin corrected. She assured me that coming back for a 1/2 hr mini in a month would be sufficient. Go, go, go! And ask for LaQuetta. read more

I loved the way Eduardo cut my hair, I explained to him how I wanted my hair and it turned out better than what I wanted. I went here for a facial in October 2012. The room where the skin care procedures occur is very cramped and a little cave like. If you have issues with small spaces, this will be a problem for you, especially since there is no window. The facialist attempted to create a calming atmosphere by lighting scented candles and playing soothing music, but I could still here the non-stop noise from the salon area, constant hum of dryers, constant shouting of stylists back and forth across the floor to each other, etc. The table used for facials is also VERY high off the ground. I am short and have back problems, but no stool was provided. This is a personal pet peeve of mine. The quality of the services was decent. The extractions were not as aggressive as I would have liked, and there was no mask, which is a first in my extensive experience with facials. The neck and face massage, however, was really nice, and the products used were not excessively perfumed or oily. The use of steam was also nicely targeted. There is nothing worse than getting a facial while sweating like a hot flash has set in. Still, I missed the mask, as this is usually my favorite part of the experience. I asked if a mask was normally included as part of the service and was told that my skin appeared overly stressed and irritated, indicating that a mask might be excessively harsh. I took her at her word. My skin did look better for about two weeks after. I think the staff here tries to give clients a spa experience, but the physical environment really in no conducive to that. read more

I also spoke with Christopher or maybe it was Christian? ( I'm terrible with names). He was very helpful and friendly with answering my diva like questions. I'm thrilled with my results! When it comes to salons I'm pretty picky and TOTALLY non-committal, but I've been going to this salon for about a year now because they do just everything about right. I've never waited longer than 5 minutes, the staff is always courteous and attentive, I can call and get a next-day apponitment - on a saturday - with no problem, and I always love my cut. Billy is the only one I'll let touch my hair. LOVE HIM. One prerequisite: you MUST have a sense of humor to sit in Billy's chair. If so, you'll have a good time and get a good laugh as well as a great cut. He's very good at young, trendy, fun cuts. Seriously, I'm complimented on my cut at least once a day. But if you want to look like a country club, cookie-cutter debutante, go elsewhere. One time I wasn't quite sure my new cut fit me, so the next day I called him, he fit me in the same day and did just what I needed, no charge. AND I wasn't treated like an outcast. They are serious about making their clients happy and I'm seriously keeping Billy as my stylist. I make the drive from Clear Lake every time because it's SO worth it. read more

So, when I left the salon the hair extensions looked great. That night they started falling out. Most were out within a week. I called to speak to the stylist Bobbi Ainsworth but someone at the front desk acted as a go between. They told me Bobbi used a different glue for me hair and that's why it was falling out. The salon is unwilling to call me back and fix the issue. I spoke to another salon who said the keratin tips have the keratin on the ends...should not be possible to use the wrong glue if it's new hair. It was sold to me as new hair. I don't trust the salon now and asked for my money back. Neither the stylist Bobbi or owner Eduardo seem to feel a lot of responsibility for charging me $560 for a poor installation. Eduardo has not refunded my money as of yet. I'm disappointed. I'll post a photo, and if possible, a video of it just pulling out. Usually getting extensions out requires a spray to dissolve the bonds. read more
