First off, they are apparently a long-standing salon but recently opened up with a new, sleek modern look. When I called to make the appointment, they were quick to answer and it was very easy to schedule. I went for a basic women's haircut which was $75. Lilian was friendly and clearly cared about doing a great job, listening to how I was wanting the hair to be cut. Going from longer hair to a shoulder length cut along with a shampoo and dry all took just under an hour. I am definitely interested in coming back! They're located on the second floor of a plaza with lots of parking, although it can be busy.

If your salon is so heavily booked that you are unable to accommodate new clients, I completely understand. However, potential clients should simply be told that upfront rather than spending weeks attempting to schedule an appointment that is never confirmed. Professionalism begins before a customer ever walks through the door, and unfortunately, my experience trying to become a client was enough for me to decide to take my business elsewhere.

Just had a genuinely transcendent experience at Bleach Salon today, and can't recommend it enough--the owner, Julie, gave me the most beautiful all-over Targaryen-esque blonde I've ever seen in my life! She is incredibly talented and I can't recommend her services enough. She's also just a genuinely kind person, and I adored chatting with her today while she did my hair. I had previously had a not-so-great experience with a newly-hired stylist at this salon, Jenn Allbritton, but Julie was so quick to make things right, and was so thorough and delightful, that it's very clear to me that Jenn absolutely doesn't reflect on Bleach Salon at all. It's a beautiful, wonderfully-decorated and well-appointed salon, and(most-importantly) it's run by great people who truly take pride in their work and the reputation of their salon, as well as the happiness of their clients. I cannot recommend Bleach Salon enough. You will leave just as happy as I did today. read more

I went last Tuesday for the first time at Bleach Salon after deciding I needed a change. After looking through Rachel's portfolio on Tumblr, I decided to make my appointment with her. There was no way I could forget I had an appointment with the daily reminders sent by their scheduling system. Rachel was pretty cool during our consultation. She gave me suggestions about what suited my hair best after showing her a picture of what I was looking for. (Long bob, some layers, and balayage) She explained the process and made small talk. All the other stylists were just as friendly. It's a cool place to people watch for sure! (Be sure to set aside at least 3 hours for a first-time balayage.) If seeing is believing - then check out these pictures. It is nothing less than hair magic. This is Julie's handiwork and may she be honored amongst the highest of hair sorcery. My before picture is what happened when I went to a family friend who came highly recommended. She dried up and damaged my hair so terribly I thought it was beyond recovery. I sat with these struggly locks for almost (4) months before the angels led me to Julie. (cue opening of the Simpsons - clouds parting angels singing.) My hair is now recovered and she pointed me in the direction of snagging the right leave in conditioner that I needed so desperately. Ooooh my hair was so thirsty, poor baby. This salon has been a life saver for me. I went to another salon (one a shall not name here) for a balayage treatment on my hair and they butchered it, not to mention burnt my hair in the process. It turned out orange and did not blend at all. It was simply a mess. I came to Bleach with no expectations other than just to have it turn out better than it was when I walked in. I have been seeing Jenn for 13 years! She always does an amazing job with my thick, curly natural hair. she is kind to me when I'm not sure what I want. Listens to me, and always has great banter with me. She is funny and brilliant. We recently have begun a color adventure together. I have added warm blond highlights, and sometimes we'll do a fun fashion color! Overall, my experience has been great! She gives great advice about products, styling tips and nutrition. My shrinkage is real - 4B/4C curls - and I've been with Stephanie since the big chop 3 years ago. I hunted her down and found her at Bleach - cool salon, cool atmosphere, friendly people. This is the first time in a few years that I loved my hair when I left the salon and the week after! Sharon listened yet provided insight. She was understanding and really gave me the look I was going for. Even though a had a "moment" after I realized my hair was short, she was patient. I made an appointment at Bleach Salon after seeing such great reviews and decided to go for balayage. Kristie Hlavaty did an amazing job! Stephanie did an amazing job on dying my hair! It was the very first time for me to step out of the color norm and go with something bright...it was a marble of blues and purples with a touch of yellow. I was ecstatic with the outcome!! Apparently none…read moreof that mattered the one and only time I've ever missed an appointment without calling, the only one, ever, since I've been getting my hair done. I totaled my car in a snowstorm outside Boston at the start of March, an accident, not a choice, not something I scheduled around a hair appointment for fun. While I was busy figuring out how to get to a meeting in Minneapolis and my car 3,000 miles home, a hair appointment didn't fit into that equation on any level. I didn't get my usual reminder text before the appointment, like I always do so that at least I would've had a reminder to let them know what happened to me. I did get a voicemail DAY OF, half of which transcribed before cutting off, a name I didn't recognize, sounding exactly like the other 100 spam calls I get daily. I ignored it. Forgive me for not intuiting that it was salon-related while dealing with a totaled car in another state. When I finally went back in, I apologized, showed them photos of my car wrecked in snow, taken just days before the missed appointmen and still got handed a $98 cancellation FEE for an accident I didn't cause and couldn't have predicted. A lifetime of getting my hair done, never once missing an appointment without calling until that day, this was a first. Fine. I paid it anyway. I just wanted my hair done.Then my stylist informed me my red needed " to be evened out." My hair was the same red it had always been, I have the photos. She did my hair less than a couple of months before this, the color I came in with that I liked. The ONLY instruction I gave was no brown. I left brown. Full brown, gray showing through, at closing time, with Casey telling me she would fix it.The blowout was its own insult. I started paying $15 extra for flat-iron because I travel and needed it to last, not because the blowout itself was ever the problem. I have years of photos proving she could do a smooth blowout with zero flat iron involved. This time, paying extra for the upgrade, I got a blowout that didn't survive three hours, it was a frizz bomb. From the time I started using the flat iron to make my blowout last for work is the time she forgot how to do blowouts. Checkout was $358, about $150 over my normal total, because the $98 fee got folded silently into the bill, and I tipped on the entire thing without realizing it. Let me be very clear: I will tip generously on service. I will not, ever, knowingly tip on a FEE charged to me because of a car accident that wasn't my fault. There was no service in that FEE. There was no styling, no skill, no time in the chair, just a charge for missing an appointment I forgot about while dealing with a totaled vehicle 3,000 miles from home. When I called to ask for that specific gratuity be refunded, not the fee, just the tip stacked on top of it, I was told the stylist "gets the fee and the tip," like I was trying to take money out of her pocket. I wasn't. I was correcting an honest mistake on a bill I wasn't paying close attention to after a stressful, exhausting day. Their response was to call back and inform me they no longer wanted me as a customer. When I texted asking if my color could at least be corrected, I was met with silence. My hair is brown at this very minute trying to figure out how to come up with $200 more to fix the problem they created.And then my sister went in. I didn't warn her off, she'd had a hard time finding a stylist and didn't want to lose her appointment, and that's her call to make. Casey, the stylist, told her that her hair was greasy, hair that is dry, porous, and curly, and has never been oily a minute in its life. Along the way, the stylist told her she needed to brush her hair, as if she just rolled out of bed and came into the salon. It didn't need to be brushed, her hair is DRY, PORUS and CURLY, not unbrushed. Proceeding to her own color, my sister tried to explain what she actually wanted, light brown hair but while reiterating that to make sure it was done, Casey sneered, 'Is this going to be a Nickolle thing?' Keep my name out of your mouth. You don't get to talk about me like that while taking $400 from my sister. ANYWAY. The result: my sister wanted lighter. She left darker, with at least three colors woven in including the purple she specifically paid to have removed, and gray still very much present and accounted for. $400, and somehow the hair went the opposite direction of every single thing she asked for. They offered to let her come back in and put a small amount of highlights. As if, she's not letting anybody from that salon touch her hair ever again. Free or not. No thanks.Two appointments, two completely botched results, and a staff that responds to legitimate complaints by firing the customer instead of fixing the work. Disgusting.

This past Wednesday however, I went in for a full babylight and in discussing what I was hoping for I said: super bright, platinum, not warm, "I hate a yellow blonde", "just like last time", and "I can't wait to be platinum again." She asked if I wanted to keep dimension (like last time) because the grow out looked really natural, I said yes. Note, I previously had extensions and was getting partial babylight services because the extensions really brightened the bottom. I was excited to really lighten underneath, and wanted that same bright platinum color. After all of the foils were in, I sat for just 7 minutes before she washed me. I typically sit for 30. As she was washing I said "oh those must have came up really quick" to which she replied "yes because I increased the lightener in the top foils." As she was blow drying, I knew it just wasn't what I had been hoping for. I said in the chair - "I just don't love it, I still reel really dark." She responded, "it's literally bright." That made me question myself, and it didn't create a space where we could talk about how to get my hair to a place where I was confident in the result. She finished, I paid, and then proceeded to cry in the car. After sleeping on it and trying to love it, I couldn't justify spending $500 without speaking up for myself. I texted Chloe (screenshots attached), and her response made me feel gaslit. Yes, we talked dimension, in the same token we also talked platinum and the same brightness as previous visits. Yes, the back was grown out, I should have sat in the foils for longer than 7 minutes. She asked me to call Gabby, the manager. I called, and Gabby could not have been more rude or unprofessional. She told me I could come back in for a paid service because "I already got the service I paid for and Chloe would need an assistant." The website states, adjustments can be made complimentary within 7 days of service. I was told she was booked out for two weeks and there was no availability. I asked if this could be escalated to the owner, Jamie, and she said yes. She requested photos, I sent them (also attached). That was Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours after the service, it is now Saturday night and they have yet to respond. I called the salon several times today, and it was forwarded to voicemail. So, I drove to the salon where Chloe O. told me she would ask Gabby and/or Jamie to call me back because neither were in. Fast forward, it is 11PM Saturday and I haven't heard a word. I have been so polite and kind in all my conversations, and just wanted to feel happy with my hair - which Chloe L is super capable of, because she has done my hair phenomenally in the past. I am incredibly disappointed at the lack of professionalism, consideration and understanding particularly from a management and ownership perspective. I understand this is a small business, but a client service mindset is so important. I am not one to write a review, but I am so upset and feel like I wasted a significant amount of time, money and tears over this situation.

You can call the number listed on the website and NO ONE ever answers the phone. Very very poor way to run a business if you truly are interested in setting appointments, especially with long time clients who are ALSO FELLOW STYLISTS. Just a horrible way to treat people.

ACROSS THE BOARD…read more i found kinsla on style seat after hours of searching for someone to cut my hair. i was looking for a very specific cut. through her photos, i could tell she had the skill for the cut. i booked a phone consultation and told her the style i was trying to achieve. she reassured me and made me feel very comfortable with booking her. i arrived to the salon and was greeted promptly. it was definitely giving saturday morning salon im used to. community and pop culture talk. just girl time. the other stylists were very nice and had clients. kinsla walked me to her room to begin service. she gave me another briefconsultation and let me know exactly what she intended to do during the appointment. i loved that she guided me and again made me feel reassured in her chair. true skills! she was very meticulous with the cut and made sure i was okay as i was being serviced. the hair wash was the best. she massaged and scrubbed my scalp at the perfect temp. i could've laid there all afternoon. the style turned out better than i could've imagined. kinsla brought tears to my eyes. she truly fulfilled the look i was going for with my hair. she saw and executed the vision. i am locked in with kinsla at this point. we will be working on a routine to keep up the maintenance and working on growing out the cut. i would definitely recommend kinsla and anyone in this salon as they all have LICENSED skills and you can tell they care about their clientele through their work. thank you kinsla and total hair elite!
