I have been a thankful client of Cara Wheeler for over 2 years. I *love* Cara's work and followed her when she joined Bleach Salon. This salon and its staff are lovely, so nice, and SO good at what they do. I was lucky to find Cara in September 2021 when I moved back to Houston. I needed a curly-hair, dry-cut and color/highlight pro; Cara goes above and beyond with helping me maintain a beautiful curly cut and color! She also got me through chemo through all of 2022. Cara was so supportive when my hair fell out, gave me an epic buzz cut, let me know when it was time to shave it off completely, and then stuck by me as my curls grew back out. She also always does a beautiful job on my hair color/root touch-up and highlights. 100/10 recommend Cara! On the few occasions when she has been unavailable, Rachel, Meg, and Jen have also been fantastic. What an amazing experience today. I was in need of a new stylist and did a bunch of research about this salon before deciding to book. I am so thrilled I made the decision. The salon is very cozy and relaxing. The salon chairs are comfy and it's not overly loud. I picked Jenn as my stylist based on her profile and expertise. WOW WOW. What a phenomenal person she is and more importantly her skill is flawless. She proceeded to do a very thorough consultation, she listened to what I wanted or thought I wanted. . She made great recommendations and I can say that by the end of the service I felt fantastic. Jenn is a master of her craft and I will be a loyal customer because of this outstanding service. I've been getting my hair cut by Jenn for a while now. She has been keeping me looking good since my hair was very short! From clipper fades all the way to the length it is now. Meg was my stylist today and she was superb to work with and gave me an amazing haircut. I showed some photos of what I was and was not looking for and she delivered exceptionally! She's knowledgeable and informative, and gave good advice. As for the establishment itself, it's gorgeous and clean; spunky yet professional appeal that I really vibed with. Ashley did my hair up RIGHT! As a curly girly, going to a new salon always feels like Russian roulette. I'd been closely following Bleach's Instagram since I'd moved to Houston and eyeballing their curly cuts. Finally, I took the plunge and made an appointment with Ashley! I came in with a ratty-ended, grown-out balayage with a vague request of "I like it to look honey-colored." Ashley gave me this beautiful balayage AND a cute curly cut! Sometimes I feel like if you're getting a color service, the haircut takes the back burner... this was not the case with Ashley, who took the time to listen to how I like my curls to fall. I've been twice, I always got a snobbish vibe from the place but just went ahead w it. One woman assuming the owner rudely asked if I had a mask, her tone was argumentative. The response from the owner just shows her judgmental being. Megan herself told me she suffers from medical illness and you can tell, I did not discriminate against her, even though it involves her hands. She accuse me of " nodding off" what is that I guess people never have fallen asleep in her chair because she's loud and obnoxious. I got sick midway and had to relieve myself and to her that's disgusting. I truly believe in karma. So I'll let her handle that Buisness. I live in Berlin and have lived in NYC and LA, but I have never found a stylist with his creativity and candor. I've been seeing Rachel at Bleach for 2.5 years now and can't recommend her enough! We've darkened it up, we've lightened it up, been through bangs, layers, growing out and cutting off - she's fantastic. Currently, I'm a warm blonde which we've developed to be low maintenance and it grows out beautifully. She's also a great judge of how and when chat; we have solid conversation and it doesn't feel forced nor is it awkward if we're silently doing our own thing. The salon is super cute but parking can be a challenge (that's just this area). If the small lot out front is packed, head to the side streets. read more

Do not, I repeat DO NOT, make an appointment with James Cordero. I'm sure the other stylists are very talented and I desperately wish I had made an appointment with someone else. It was my first time here, I made the appt for 2pm and was on time. I walked in and there was no receptionist to check in with and wasn't sure what to do because no one acknowledged me until someone was walking out the door about 15 minutes later and asked if I had been helped. I told them my appointment was with James and they said he'd be with me in a few minutes. After 30min someone else came to the front and I asked if James was going to see me soon or what was going on. I wasn't trying to come across as complaining, I just wanted to know what was going on since he never came out to see me, knowing that he had the 2pm appointment. So another person comes out and says he would be 5 more minutes and that the woman he was working on was taking longer. So then 15 minutes later his client finished and he checks her out. Then he looks at me for a split second and says, "you Lindsey? Just give me a few minutes." So apparently he had another person processing and he takes her back to shampoo, cut and dry. At that point I knew I'd be sitting there at least another 20 minutes so I wasn't going to get into the chair for 30 minutes and then it would be another 10min of discussion on what I want and him getting set up. My appointment was for a full balayage and cut so he's already an hour behind and my hair would take at least 2.5 hours.. I did not plan for that. I went to his chair and trying to not be impolite said look, I've been here an hour and I can't wait anymore. I understand you're running late but I had to guarantee this appointment with my cc in case I didn't show up so if I was running an hour late I would've been charged.. but I'm here and since you are running at least an hour late, you could have called me to let me know that instead of letting me sit here, not knowing what is going on. And then he said "okay" and just stared at me. I was like, wait really? That's all you have to say? I got upset at that point and said I'm leaving. Do not charge my card for this. I'm telling y'all... I've never had an experience like that at a salon. I did my research on them and all of the reviews were great, pictures beautiful, I thought it was a safe bet. But the way I was treated was very disrespectful. Just the fact that he never once said hello to me, he just glazed right over me.. I'm going out of town tomorrow and took today off of work to get all of the last minute things done, my hair being the biggest thing. I left the salon in tears. I'll never recommend this salon based on my experience. Again, if you want to go there, just don't book with James. read more

I had a GREAT EXPERIENCE during my first visit today with Meg! I can see why there are so many excellent reviews. For the record I have curly hair and she knows how to cut curly hair very well. Highlights of my visit (pun intended): Highly recommend booking with Meg! She fixed my AWFUL HAIRCUT that was done at another salon two days prior. Meg took the time to ask questions and listened. She is a natural in her craft and especially skilled in knowing how to fix other's hair mistakes. The front desk gentleman was a star in helping understand what I needed nd I'm grateful for his recommendations. The salon is clean. Staff wear masks and sanitize (HUGE bonus). There are lots of windows and natural light in this salon. Great products (Kevin Murphy)!! I followed Lee here from her previous salon. Lee listens to my concerns and pays attention to how my hair grows to counsel me on my hair changes. She's very attentive to detail and is a lovely person to carry on a conversation. I have a mostly wavy mane with combination of straight and curly hair. It's pretty thick and I am blessed with a few hair swirls with creative placement. Lee takes all these things into consideration and she is very careful in explaining how I can care for my hair and look great at home. read more

Geddy is Amazing with hair. The best color and hair cut I have ever had. When you show him a picture, you will get exactly what you ask for, with perfection and expertise. His extensive background in art exemplifies though your hair. He takes his time, he is personable and fun to talk with, makes you feel comfortable, and a true professional. I couldn't justify driving the distance to their salon anymore so I took a chance on Cara (at a previous salon) at the recommendation of a friend. Instantly I felt comfortable with Cara. As a stylist, she is incredibly knowledgable, patient, and honest (i.e., told me the truth about postpartum shedding). I've been dying my hair various shades of red for over a year now, and Cara nails the vision each time. She also gives incredible cuts, as I do tons of layers and a heavy face frame with bangs. Absolutely love her work & would trust anyone in the salon based on the results I see around me. I also buy a lot of my salon products for a great price. While I'm comfortable spending money on my hair, I think the pricing for a full color and cut with blow dry is incredibly fair and at market value or less. Great work is ALWAYS worth the price, and I'm able to keep my whole experience relatively less than what I've paid at other salons. Wonderful place with even greater people and amazing pricing. Julie Correa ruined my hair! She is unprofessional, sloppy and full of excuses. My first appointment was July 21, 2023. I've had blonde highlights for over 30 years in salons all over the US. I was very clear what I wanted and showed her pictures. The highlights were not only white but uneven throughout. She told me to call her and she can adjust the toner. I called her the next day to complain and she told me to just wash my hair several times and the toner will "darken to the color I want." I finally got an appointment for her to redo the toner on August 3rd. She sloppily painted some toner in, left me in the bowl for over 20 minutes, while she went to the break room, and now I'm stuck with orange brassy hair!! She is the worst! Another review mentions that Morgan is slower which I agree but I like that she never seems rushed, takes her time and I'm not being juggled between clients. I've had a few hair style changes through the years and Morgan always works with me and is great at helping me style my hair. Sharon, the owner of this salon, is the BEST OF THE BEST!!!! I have been coming to her for a couple of years now and each time she exceeds all expectations. She is the MASTER OF COLOR, to use the word exceptional would be an understatement. She is always on time, has the most awesome personality, and is phenomenal at what she does. My hair was so damaged and the color was horrible when I first came in. Sharon has helped me to get the color to perfection, and her haircutting technique is superb. I now have healthy curls again.
