If you the consumer have your down payment, all of your paperwork, and can be patient you'll be good! People just need to chill and relax when buying a car.

Months back I started hearing noise that sounded like rubber on rubber while turning. I had the car services several times, changed breaks and such, I never mentioned that to anybody and nobody said that something needed to be fixed so I did not worry about it much. Noise got significantly louder over the past two months, so I decided to take the car for diagnostics at University Ford. I made an appointment online for one Friday at 1 PM. I get a call from them around 3 hrs before the appointment that they need a car in the morning for diagnostic. Ok.... So why was I able to make an appointment online?? Anyways.... I dropped off the car that Friday at 2 PM and left it there. I was informed they would try to have the diagnostic done by Monday morning. So they had 4 hrs on Friday and 8.5 hrs on Saturday. I was waiting for a call from Daniel with an update. He did not call so I called him and left a message. No call back. I called the service department number and left a message. No call back. Monday morning, I got a text with a report: replacement of rear differential, cost $3685.34 plus tax. What?? I called Daniel and I asked questions. Finally, I said ok. But it did not sit with me at all. I started researching that particular problem extensively and my car had NONE of the symptoms that would suggest such repair was needed. NONE. So, I called again and asked what exact part was failing and I was told they couldn't see the part because it was enclosed. They decided on that repair based on the sound. I asked: you do not see the damage, but you want to repair it??? I said: I want back every single part that is going to be replaced in my car. Then I did more research and it did not sit with me. According to my research, a failing differential makes a metal-on-metal sound, not rubber-on-rubber. And again, my car does not display any other symptoms. I called a friend who used to work for Ford for years and now trains mechanics at the community college. I described the situations and he said that I should have replaced fluid in the rear differential and see if that helped (I found the similar suggestion during my research). I called Ford late Monday and said I wanted my car back to get a second opinion. Since it was too late to pick it up that day, I told them I would be there on Tuesday. Tuesday at 7.30 AM I got a call saying that I had to pay 20% restocking fee for parts. What??? I said I wanted to talk to a manager. I had to wait for him to call me back. And off I go to do research again. According to NC Motor Vehicle Repair Act Paragraph 20-354.3 (in short) a repair shop has to provide an estimate for the repair and ALL fees associated with this repair, including parts, overhead, taxes, etc. If there is no written and signed estimate or if a fee is not included in the estimate (any fee, including restocking fee), the shop has no legal right to charge you that fee. The same thing is also mentioned in NC Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices: business cannot charge an undisclosed fee. I printed everything and was ready to fight them, but interestingly I got a call from them that the manager decided to waive a restocking fee. Hmmm... Cool. I got my car. Next day I took it to Green Ford in Greensboro, had the fluid changed and guess what... NO SOUND. I also had it inspected by my friend on a lift and he said there was absolutely no reason to replace the entire differential assembly. Now I wonder, are the mechanics at University Ford educated enough or did the services department intentionally tried to rip me off. THEY TRIED A WRONG GIRL!

At approximately 2.5 hours later no photos had been taken. The photos should have taken no more than 30 minutes after I arrived. (I believe that is why we schedule appts.) I finally got a young women in the service dept. to help navigate the issue. It took her about 15 minutes, and she came back and said, it was all done. She even pulled the car around for me. August 2025, they had not submitted info to Hyundai Care to schedule and resolve the paint warranty. They wanted me to schedule with them again and come in for more photos! Hyundai USA reached out and never could get a "real person" that would step up to the plate and commit to helping move this problem through. I tried to contact them by phone, and left messages with my number. Never did Brian, or Blake ever return my calls. I Just kept getting email templates to schedule appt. for service. Guess what Mr. Durst, You have a dog and pony show in your service dept. In the 2.5 hours that I sat and observed.. you really have an atrocity of a "service dept". Mr. Durst... your service dept. should be absolutely ashamed to treat Hyundai automobile owners, so poorly. I listened to more angry, and poorly managed customers.. including myself! The Sport Durst Hyundai service dept. gives the Hyundai automobile a bad reputation. It not just selling the Hyundai product.. it involves standing behind the product with good solid service. For anyone that reads, " READ THE REVIEWS".. there is truth in them! Don't let yourself get caught up in the Sport Durst Hyundai circus of flying monkeys~

I've never owned a Mitsubishi before so I'm unsure whether this is typical but I have owned several brand new cars and have never required service within the first 7 months of ownership let alone 5 times.  I called in a month ago with a warranty question and have yet to receive a return phone call from Coretta.  During my attempt to check in at my last and final appt, Coretta was amid a work inappropriate rant about how far behind she was on paperwork while acting like my presence for the appt I was given was an inconvenience for her. And once again I left without the job that I came in for having been completed in full which is definitely a trend.  She claimed that a part had to be ordered and she would call to schedule once it arrived. Of course its 2 months later and nothing.  Then I randomly have a missed call from them with no voicemail message after I've had the problem addressed elsewhere.  But hey she doesn't even call to tell me when car is ready when it's there as if I'm just supposed to know by osmosis when to pick it up.  At least she's consistent. She is the least easy person to deal with and shockingly the ONLY person in the tiny office that is their service dept. Each time I had to take my car I prayed for there to be literally ANYONE else for me to deal with and I mean ANYONE.  I have acknowledged or rather accepted what I already knew after my first visit which is that there is new learning or behavioral change occurring here. The sales dept was great but service with this lady has made me want to take crumbl cookies for everyone in the service dept at my other dealership because this type of nonsense would never be tolerated there.  I called and asked for the GM and the operator connected me to a voicemail for the vice president and COO who has yet to return my call as well. It seems that this type of behavior is an organizational issue and likely will NOT change. It's sad because the buying experience was great but it has been nothing short of debotchery since then. Skip this place and save yourself the aggravation. She's overwhelmed, disorganized, and obviously ill equipped to be a department of one. It's totally worth the drive and time to go ANYWHERE ELSE AND I MEAN ANYWHERE ELSE for Mitsubishi service.
