This is by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. I have never once written a review before, because until this experience, no restaurant had ever shocked me enough to deserve one. Congratulations to Marcelino's for finally changing that. My friends and I arrived for our 7:30 PM reservation to celebrate a bachelor party. The reservation had been booked nearly two weeks in advance--the earliest possible opportunity. The groom was wearing Burberry pants, and the "gentleman" at the front refused to let him inside because of them, though he refused to explain what exactly was wrong with them. Instead, the bouncer directed us to a clothing store around the corner where, according to him, the groom could buy pants that would make him "look decent." Before leaving, we specifically confirmed with him that everyone else in our group was dressed appropriately. He assured us they were. The second we walked into the store, the salesperson immediately knew Marcelino's had sent us. Apparently this happens often enough that no explanation was necessary. $120 later, our friend was wearing brand-new NONREFUNDABLE pants--the salesperson made a point of emphasizing that fact, which certainly didn't make the whole arrangement feel suspicious at all. We returned to Marcelino's roughly 20 minutes later, now late to a reservation we had originally arrived early for, only for the bouncer to suddenly decide that two other members of our party were also not dressed appropriately. When we reminded him that he had already confirmed everyone else was fine, he flatly denied ever saying it. At that point, we asked for the manager and demanded to be seated. After some "deliberation," they graciously decided to allow us inside. However, despite our reservation, they still didn't have our table available. Instead, they shoved us into an overcrowded bar area where waiters struggled to squeeze past us and everyone felt claustrophobic and uncomfortable. Several members of our party literally chose to stand in the bathroom because, somehow, being surrounded by ACTUAL defecation and urination was more pleasant than being in the overcrowded bar-area they had shoved us into. By 8:00 PM--half an hour after our reservation time--we were finally seated. The food itself was aggressively mediocre. To be fair, our waitress was kind and attentive, and she consistently refilled our water glasses. That was about the only positive aspect of the evening, and frankly, the same level of service could have been achieved at a McDonald's. We had an amazing weekend in Boston, with the sole exception of our visit to Marcelino's Seaport. I would genuinely rather relive the funeral of my only son than ever return to this establishment. The Bouncer working the front door on Saturday, May 25th, 2026 at 7:30 PM was truthfully one of the most unpleasant people I have ever encountered. I wish I'd gotten an impromptu prostate exam rather than coming here. Honestly. I'm not even joking. If you're visiting Boston to celebrate a special occasion, go to O Ya. The service is infinitely better, the food is above and beyond, and you don't get treated like trash. The only people I would recommend Marcelino's to are sadists. We came in without a reservation and lani was accommodating inside he was great. The support staff as well. Sebastian rocked it. He was great and his energy is comforting yet unstoppable. We had a wonderful evening at Marcelino's. It began with the warm and friendly welcome which we received from Lu the security man and continued with the hostess team who went out of their way to quickly find us a table despite our not having a reservation and the restaurant being full. We were warmly greeted at our table by Claire, who made us feel at home immediately. She was efficient, explained the menu system and answered all our questions. Throughout our meal she knew exactly when to check in with us to ask about the meal and our needs. We had a great conversation about all the ingredients in our choices and she even checked with the chef when we were curious about seasoning combinations. The chef is excellent and knows how to pair ingredients and how to pleasantly surprise the palette. The ingredients were fresh and great quality and the drink list had exciting new twists as well as classics. The ambiance was fun and lively. Definitely one of the best meals we have had. read more

Came here late on a Sunday night after dinner for drinks. Immediately, when I walk in, a lady tells me that I have to try one of the cocktails. It was this half coffee half citrus drink - definitely something I haven't had before, and I ordered another after I finished it. I had a wonderful time here. It was completely packed when I arrived, but managed to snag two seats at the bar. I would highly encourage people to get a reservation before arriving. Bartender and staff were friendly, warm and walked us through the menu. The cocktails were outstanding, well-balanced and creative. They reminded me a lot of the (now closed) Good Company Cocktail Bar - whereas the closer resemble a particular dish (like the Baklava Cocktail). The food was good. 4/5 for me. The tartare was is one of the better tartare's in Boston and was particularly impressive. That said, as a restaurant - I don't think is worth going out of your way for. But as a bar with snacks, this hits the spot. The restaurant is beautifully decorated which helps. I'm not going to ding any stars for this - but I do think the place has a bit of an identity crisis. Yes, the menu is cohesive and work beautifully with the drinks. But I was confused about why they hired a DJ? The place is loud enough, it's completely seated, it's too small to be a club and there's certainly no room to dance. That whole aspect could've been replaced with a Spotify Playlist, and been 10-15% quieter. Funny thing is that the DJ was pretty good, just unnecessary. I have a feeling this was a "Friday night" thing, so I may most recommend here on a weekday. All this aside, in a Seaport full of *meh* bars and restaurants - Marcelino's is a welcomed addition. There's still some kinks to work out - which is fine, I don't think they've had a grand opening yet - so I'm excited to see what'll be like in 6 months. Looking forward to coming back. read more

I had an incredible time here! I went here for my birthday and they made it an amazing experience! The ambience was chic and the service was so lovely. I got the strawberry cocktail- it was unique, delicious, and pretty! For food we got the ciabatta (which came with pita) and hummus. The hummus was amazing!! I visited on a bustling Saturday night at prime time-- around 9:45pm with a group of 5. We were asked if we had a reservation at the front entrance (we didn't) and they had to check to see if they could let us in. We only waited a few seconds for them to check and were let in. It was very crowded and we had to stand in the corner in the back, but all the workers were very nice! A worker asked us if we wanted to put our coats in the back on a chair and servers checked in on us frequently. Drinks were super fancy and delicious! This would have been 4 or possibly even 5 stars because the food and atmosphere were great BUT... the bouncer ruined the night after myself, partner and girlfriend were all leaving and he decided to comment on what I was wearing. I mind you, I saw no posted dress code and nobody said anything when we walked in. (I was wearing sweatpants, a full Alo set for that matter). All this to say, we spent a fair amount on dinner and drinks, the manager Ian was so kind, but it only takes one negative person/experience to ruin a night out. We had an amazing evening at Marcelino's! I had accidentally made our reservation for the Rhode Island location even though we live in Boston and the manager who greeted us couldn't have been more kind and gracious about it - he was able to seat us in Boston and take care of communication with the Rhode Island location. The decor and atmosphere was exactly what we were in the mood for- beautiful and lounge like. This place is such a hidden gem in Seaport! The drinks are amazing! Well crafted, flavorful and just the right balance. If you like a fresh light drink I'd recommend Parsley or Basil. If you want something smooth and light get the Palo Honey. Porn Star was Smokey and just right. I was not a fan of the watermelon rhubarb it has a feta cheese topping that once you get past it's fine but just wasn't for me. The place is fun and chic, prefect for a night out without feeling overly crowded. Since it's still now it hasn't been overrun yet making it a great spot to enjoy an intimate vibe. Name suggests Italian cuisine but it is actually Lebanese. Outside seating is nice but not much of a view due to large pillars. Lamb kebabs were very good but quantity left a lot to be desired considering the price. No rice or pita was served with it. Margarita was overpriced, small glass, too much ice and seemed a bit watered down. Don't waste your money here. read more

I'm about a month removed from this experience, but I felt the need to come back and leave a review because my night celebrating my master's degree was only made possible by three of your wonderful employees: Larissa, Lani, and Tim. We had reservations at a nearby restaurant for a celebratory dinner, but I insisted we stop at my favorite spot, Marcelino's, for pre-dinner drinks and apps. My friend was running a bit late due to bad traffic caused by a car accident on the highway that night. When she finally arrived about an hour late, there was a huge line! Luckily, Larissa, Lani, and Tim understood our situation and saved our night. Because these three caring, empathetic, and thoughtful humans saw what I was going through and helped by allowing my best friend to join us, we decided to cancel our dinner reservation and spend the rest of the evening at Marcelino's, enjoying drinks and trying different entrees! These three fabulous employees truly deserve a raise, and I'll be calling the manager on Monday to make sure my praise is heard! read more

The location and the vibe of this place are great! Right by the water, dark and moody. They're opening up a gorgeous patio soon too-- definitely going to need to go! He literally made us feel that we were doing something wrong just by being there. The low rating is due to rude and unprofessional handling of our party by the floor manager (Ian?) which spoiled the entire experience. It was my birthday celebration and I booked a table for DINNER for 6 a week in advance. We get there and are seated in a round couch with a low table in a middle, of about 24in in diameter, cute to put a drink on but certainly not for having any food. I approach the manager at the front desk, explaining that we'd like to have dinner and asking for a table that would accommodate that. We discuss an option of putting together 2 tables of 4 once they free up - great! We proceed to order drinks waiting for our table. We see multiple tables of 4 free up right in front of us and ask one of the hosts if some of them are for us and they confirm so. Time goes by, nothing is happening. I go up to the manager for an update and he says that he's not able to give us any of those tables due to other reservations and offers us a high table on the back of the terrace. We're not happy but agree to it and move because we want to be able to eat, while the regular tables we want remain unoccupied right in front us. Time goes by, tables remain empty. We get wrong drinks served to us 3 times - fine, we take it in stride. Service is not great, slow - but ok we go with it. The tables right in front remain unoccupied 90min after the manager said he would move us there, and I approach him again - he says he has reservations. Ok.... Time goes by..... Tables remain unoccupied. I approach the manager again as many tables are free and ask him for his business card, as being an executive myself I think he's not handling it well and I would provide feedback. He comes back with a generic business card of the restaurant. I say - I asked for YOUR business card, and these are the words that come out of his mouth: "If you're going to cause any more problems I will have you checked out of the restaurant and this will be it. My name is Ian Lynch if you'd like know". Whoa..... We paid our $700 bill for a few drinks and appetizers and took the rest of the evening to Ocean Prime. There are other places along the same water front that are a lot more friendly and accommodating. Woods Hill, SAVR - both awesome - great food, amazing views, professional staff. Staff can really make or break your experience - that's why this industry is called "hospitality". read more
