After seeing it all across my social media feed, I knew I had to try it. The interior is honestly so gorgeous. I came with a smaller party so I didn't get seated at one of the super aesthetic booth tables. I came for brunch and they were noticeably very busy. As sociable and and nice as my server was, he was also impossible to flag down as he ran all over the place. Now to the food: the hamburgers were really juicy and I was informed this was one of their most popular dishes, which was why the burger station was backed up when I went. I ordered one of the croquettes (the chicken one I believe) and they were solid but nothing noteworthy. I split the duck confur and waffles with macerated berries with my friend and we left stuffed. I would have given this 2.5 stars - additional point for the ambiance but the food was nothing special. I live in the neighborhood and was genuinely excited to have this as an option but I'm not sure it lives up to the hype. Good job at influencing though. Wagyu - this is the fattiest cut of meat you can get. There's no need to top it with additional butter- a mound of it. Had to ask for salt because it wasn't seasoned. Would have preferred it already had some flaky salt and skip the butter. I take my wagyu seriously - even if it's not Japanese. The gambas (shrimp) - slightly overcooked and was expecting this to be garlicky. Had no flavor. Felt like the shrimp were added to the premade oil and not incorporated with flavor/ marinated. This is a Spanish staple and easy to make stateside. Patatas - they had an interesting take on these, sliced into thin layers and deep fried, nice crunch on them. my guy liked them. Could have had a pinch more of seasoning. Hamburger sliders - these could have been from any other restaurant. We only ordered them because they would be filling and some more protein. They were good, but I could eat them at any other restaurant down the street Pan frito - this was a good one. Unique, reminded me of a campfire. I don't prefer to load up on carbs though and this was the only thing we ordered that was tasty We weren't impressed at all after dropping over $220 on small plates for 2 people. I think this is a great restaurant for a date with a stranger, or to hang out for a mocktail/cocktail, or if you're in your 20s and want to check out a hot spot. Been meaning to try this place since seeing videos prior to its launch and finally had the chance to this week at the chef's counter to celebrate my birthday. The ambiance is as beautiful as posts have shown and really enjoyed the kitchen seating while watching the coal fire cooking. If you're lucky like the couples near us, you may also get samples from the crudo station. Service was excellent between our server Sara and relatively expeditious kitchen staff. We ordered the crudo, matrimonio, patatas bravas, setas y huevo, pulpo and Valencia paella. The food was good but still on the search for a paella with socarrat. The dessert tarta tartin was our favorite and would impress even a banana hater. The drinks we ordered were good with the sangria rosada best if you want something sweet and fruity. I was so excited to try Dalia and am happy to say that it surpassed all expectations! The vibes inside are unmatched and the service was great. An unforgettable night at Dalia. While we were seated about 20 minutes past our reservation, the manager came over to apologize and give a complementary glass of wine (to celebrate a graduation). The acoustics and lighting of the room set a great scene for dinner, without being too loud but also fun and lively. We loved the wagyu with chimichurri, the hamachi, the pulpo, the mushrooms and egg yolk, and the croquetas de jamón. We'll definitely be coming back here! read more

Went to Dalia with a couple friends and had a really great experience. We made a reservation, showed up on time, and were seated right away. The space itself is absolutely gorgeous and way bigger than it looks from the outside. There are two bars, tons of seating, and an open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant. There were three of us, and we ordered the Tortilla Española, Patatas Bravas, Croquetas de Pollo, Pan Frito, Bikini, and Hamburguesitas to share. Everything was really good, and we got the Basque cheesecake for dessert. My friend loved the Sangria Blanca, another got the Apasionada Margarita, and I had a Mexican Coke. The portions are pretty small, even for a tapas restaurant. A few dishes - like the croquetas, bikini and hamburguesitas- only come with two pieces, so if you're with three or more people you'll probably want to order a few. read more

Very beautiful place. I was very excited to visit since my apartment is very similarly decorated. However, this bartender was unbelievably rude that it dampened my entire experience. She didn't greet us when we sat down. Coldly tossed our menus on the table and asked what did we want before we even got to see anything. We moved to the bar for faster service and started playing a game of hangman for fun. She saw we were playing and said "is it in English?" We are all Latino, born and raised in America. We felt offended by this assumption. I asked for their Dalia cocktail to be with Coke instead of Dr Pepper, she said "we can't do that because we don't have coke." A restaurant and bar not having any coke is shocking but okay, understood. I still ordered it. Later, we were told it was last call. She helped everyone else but when my friend asked for shots, she told him I'm not taking any more orders. Despite this, we still had to ask for the check, many minutes later. I always tip. Even after dealing with a rude or non-friendly waiter/bartender, but the racial comment and continued lack of service upset me so much that I could not leave a tip. I truly believe we were being treated so coldly initially on the assumption we wouldn't tip. I definitely didn't want to leave a poor review since I was so excited to come to this place, a place I specifically chose for my friends to go to while on vacation in Boston for the first time, but I felt it was the only way to express my disappointment. We left the receipt at the bar and one of the bartenders hands it to her and they laugh very loudly for us to hear them as we leave. I felt like she wanted or expected us to get belligerent with her after laughing so audibly. I requested a manager instead. I work in customer service. I never request managers, ever. He politely listened to my complaint, was very understanding and apologetic of the experience, gave me his business card and promised to refund our bill. I truly appreciated him taking my complaint seriously and trying his best to make up for the lack of hospitality and hostility we experienced earlier. I look forward to receiving the refund. I think Dalia's is a very beautiful place and as much as I would like to one day go back, I don't think I could after this experience. read more

(Two pieces) - Pluma Iberico pork well cooked, chopped cutlet, i wasn't too big of a fan of the pairing for the garnish and side tho. - Hamachi crudo - fresh hamachi, nice bite of the fish. The yuzu citrus didn't shine for us, i love ginger but that's all i tasted. - Valencia Paella (half size) even at half size i thought the rice portion was very shallow. I had been seeing social media posts about this place for at least a couple months and so glad I finally checked it out. I loved the pan frito and especially the churro...so unique and the perfect balance of umami flavor and crunchy fluffy texture. Went for a birthday dinner, overall the place lived up to the hype. The biggest appeal was the ambiance - the interior decor is breathtaking. Everyone was taking photos. The food is a bit pricey for the portions, but then again very in line with tapas spots around Boston. We had the bravas, pulpo, prawns, snap peas, pan frito, and the veggie and chicken paellas. Everything was delicious, get the paellas and pan frito! My one complaint is that everything we ordered came 5-10 minutes apart, so we couldn't enjoy everything together. (For example, I would have loved to soak up the octopus marinade with bread, but we didn't have any). I would also advise staff to come around with water a bit more often. With Dalia being a new spot, it still has some service practices to smooth out, but that's natural. Also, managers come around with freebies from the kitchen- such a nice touch. Absolutely blown away! Worth every bit of the hype. My husband and I finally got a reservation here and we were completely blown away by how amazing this restaurant is. From the stunning design and thoughtful interior details to the special little features scattered around the space, the whole vibe felt elevated and special the moment we walked in. The food was spectacular across the board. We tried a variety of dishes and every single one was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was equally outstanding: attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being over-the-top. We tried a variety of dishes: Spicy tuna - amazing (VERY spicy) Tuna - amazing Hamachi - amazing Mussels - great Scallops - good Churro - great Papas bravas - fine Croquette - amazing Gateau basque dessert - amazing!! My sister and I arrived for our 6:45 reservation at the back bar, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. It took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. My drink arrived another 15 minutes later, and we waited an additional 20 minutes before asking about my sister's drink, which took another five minutes to arrive. By then, nearly 50 minutes had passed, and we were only just receiving our drinks. I didn't enjoy my drink, but the bartender was gracious and quickly exchanged it for me. However, his behavior throughout the evening was concerning and appeared erratic, with seemingly affecting his ability to provide attentive service. After that, we finally placed our food order--about 50 minutes after our reservation time. We ordered the Brie appetizer and the Wagyu steak. The Brie arrived fairly quickly, but it was simply Brie topped with tomatoes and served with very dry bread. It was something I could easily make at home, and for the price, it was underwhelming. We then waited approximately 45 minutes for the steak. It appeared that the order had never been placed, as we had to ask the service staff about it twice before it was eventually "rushed out." The steak itself was good, but it was not worth the wait. Our bartender said he would "cover" part of our tab because of the delayed service. However, the adjustment only included the replacement drink and the complimentary birthday dessert. To clarify, we paid for every item we ordered; the only items that were comped were the corrected drink and the birthday dessert. Overall, the service was extremely slow, and the food was underwhelming for the price. Honestly I was hesitant after seeing some "meh" reviews on Instagram but I'm glad I tried it for myself! We had a great experience. I didn't order off the cocktail menu but the drinks were good. I appreciate my waitress mentioned the $1 per for the blue cheese stuffed olives for dirty martinis. They're fresh stuffed not jarred which I appreciated. For tapas we ordered the patatas bravas, crab churro, pollo coquettes, jamon croquettes, and the bikini. No complaints on any of these items - I loved the uniqueness and crispiness to the patatas bravas. For the bikini I think we were both like I could eat a full sized sandwich of this. The crab & caviar churros were a fun unique bite! And I appreciated that everything that had truffle (croquettes and bikini) very clearly had fresh grated truffle. For mains we ordered the Iberico paella and the wagyu flat iron steak. The paella was HOT coming out but had great flavor. This version did have a number of "salty meats" so if that's not your vibe go for another one but the snap peas were a nice veggie addition. The wagyu flat iron steak was not only beautifully cooked but it was so tender and the sauce had amazing flavor. My only negative would be the mashed on that dish was either over salted, or too garlicky for me but honestly we were so full by then I only took a small taste. I will be talking about this meal for the rest of my life. The pan frito changed my life for the better. I've been telling everyone about it! As soon as I bit into that bread I felt everything change. It was crisp on the outside, oh so fluffy on the inside. Sweet and salty and smoky, buttery and rich. I am drooling just thinking of it. If you go here and can only get one thing, get the bread!! While the bread was the best thing I had, everything else was still really good. First of all, the atmosphere was wild. The theming was akin to a Disney world restaurant. I was waiting for Jack Sparrow to come take a photo with me during my meal. My mucha novia cocktail was tasty, refreshing, and strong. Our tapas started coming out first. The pollo croquettes were good- and like everything you only get a small amount- so we each had at least one between the four of us. It was crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Good, but compared to everything else ai had it became less memorable. Now, unfortunately for us, everything on the menu sounded delicious. The waiter helped us quite a bit with deciding what to get, and his recommendations were very helpful. The patatas bravas were his recommendation and were very delicious. Don't skip these!! Saucy and wonderful, crisp and smooth, I would definitely get these again. We also ordered two crudo playes which were excellent- the yellowfin tuna and the hamachi. Now I could be wrong but I believe it was the yellowfin that had the best citrusy element to it that was to die for. I'm really glad our waiter recommended these. For our mains, we ordered the wagyu ribeye filet and the Valencia paella. I've never had Wagyu or paella before but I thought both were excellent. The paella was amazing! The one we ordered was one without shellfish but the meats in it were spectacular and the rice was very flavorful and had a great texture. We also ordered dessert. Sadly, my phone died before I could take a photo of them. We had the basque cheesecake which was good but not as good as the bananas foster with vanilla gelato. That was incredible oh my gosh. The bananas were just at that perfect level of caramelization and paired with the vanilla gelato... oooh! So good. I would love to come back here again. We expected a little bit of a wait since the restaurant was PACKED but everything came within minutes of each dish. Our favorites were the Hamburguesitas, Patatas bravas, churros, and Tarta Tatin! The Hamburguesitas were cooked perfectly to our liking & super flavorful. Normally with smaller thicker patty burgers, we've experienced the patty being dry & this was not the case here. It was juicy! Patatas bravas is always a must-order for whenever I go to a tapas spot. What set this Patatas bravas apart from other spots for me was that they cut the potato in layers! The aioli + salsa bravas were yummy too. We really enjoyed the churros because the churros were soft and fluffy. It paired well with the crab meat + caviar, a little bit salty, a little bit creamy... can't go wrong. Now, the Tarta Tatin has got to be my favorite dessert I've ordered in a VERY long time. Gorgeous dining space- understated, feminine opulence in the velvet curved banquettes, tasseled floral ceiling lamps, crystal chandeliers, dusty pink wall panels, and hanging plants. Food was great- the paella Valencia (chicken and seafood, sans chorizo), grilled shrimp and Wagyu rib cap were our favorites. The savory churro topped with crabmeat and caviar was a novelty- it was good but not craveable. Eggplant dip pan Cristal was okay, although the bread - crusty on the outside, soft in the middle- was just perfect. I enjoyed my rose sangria too. I took my girlfriend there on a Saturday night. The place was super busy. We were greeted by what only could be described as an older soprano's mafioso door guy. As I was walking toward the door, I said, "excuse me." He held his hand up and said, "You have a reservation?" I said, "No. I don't I called and they said to just come in and try the bar." At this point a grey haired gentleman dressed in a suit said, "oh of course. Right this way. Speak to the host." I went to go talk to the host. They let me know that the waitlist was full for the night if we wanted a table, but bar had their own waitlist. The bar was very busy and seemed to be well staffed. We asked a bartender to get on the waitlist. The red head female bartender got us on the list and made us our first round. She was very busy and seemed to be handling the waitlist. All the bartenders were very professional and worked in tandem. There was a small snafu with the waitlist order and we were bumped back (which we didn't mind). The bartender Mila (the red head) made us feel very welcomed and thanked us for our patience. We ended up being seated at the fancy back bar after an hour and fifteen minutes of waiting. Which was fine because of the expectation they set for us. She originally said it could take an hour and half to two hours. We were well prepared to wait that long. Once we were seated the bartender Camila was very friendly and super attentive. The churro and caviar was incredible! We also had several other tapas that did not disappoint. Before our main corse "feast" came out, Mila came to check on us. She made sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Such great hospitality! The Wagu ribeye was amazing! The cheesecake was very good! The ambience was a beautiful Spanish art deco. Great attention to detail. Service was top notch. Especially considering how busy they were. Camila (the bartender at the back bar) and especially Mila made sure we had an incredible experience! Don't be tuned off by the door man! Absolutely wonderful service and delicious food. The place is gorgeous. If the dinner menu is as good as brunch, I cannot wait to try it.

The ambience was beautiful, but unfortunately the food and service didn't live up to the setting. The octopus was overcooked and rubbery, and our sliders came out nearly raw and had to be sent back. The drinks were also surprisingly weak and lacked the presentation you'd expect from a place with this kind of atmosphere. With such a charming space, I would have expected the food and cocktails to have that same level of attention to detail and aesthetic appeal. The most disappointing part, though, was an interaction with one of the hosts. We asked a host who was standing near the bar area off to the right if she could take a quick picture of us. Her facial expression immediately made it seem as though we were bothering her. I completely understand that taking photos may not be part of her job, and she could have simply and politely declined. The reaction we received instead felt unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. Overall, the space has so much potential and the ambience is definitely there, but the food, cocktails, presentation, and especially the hospitality could use some work to match it. read more

Sat at the bar for an early dinner. I had the spicy shrimp with pineapple, which was fantastic and the Waygu beef with chimichurri which was fabulous. Bartender Camilla was great! Beautiful interior. Definitely recommend. read more

The food exceeded my expectations! The queso de cabra was by far the most delicious thing we ordered. The only thing we got that I didn't love so much was the patatas bravas, they were more 'fancy' than the homey potatoes I thought they'd be. I wouldn't order them again personally, but they're still tasty! The service was a little slow at times but always completely nice. The ambiance and space is beautiful! Obsessed with Dalia. Went in with high expectations and somehow they still got cleared. The space alone is worth the trip. Beautiful lighting, gorgeous design, and you can smell the wood fire the second you walk in. We sat at the chef's bar and watching the team prep and cook over the fire was honestly half the fun. Matt had the best recommendations all night and made for a fun night, so thank you! A few standouts: * Razor clam crudo: out of this world. Easily one of the best bites I've had in a long time * Patatas bravas: a layered potato situation with crispy edges, creamy middle, and a killer sauce. A total reinvention of the classic * Jamón croquette: shell shatters perfectly, molten salty-savory inside. Exactly how a croqueta should be * Ibérico pork and ribeye cap: cooked over the fire, charred crust, melt-in-your-mouth! Insane and the chimichurri on the steak was perfect! * Cocktails and wine: drink list is dialed in, great Spanish wines by the glass and the cocktails are legit. Service was warm and on it the whole night. Felt like the staff actually loved being there. If you're into tapas, wood fire cooking, or just want a really good night out in Southie, go.
