Always a great meal! Always pleasant waitstaff. The portions are incredibly large!! You will absolutely be bringing home leftovers. The place is crazy busy so you'll be waiting a bit but again so worth it. My suggestion is to go anywhere from 3 to 3:30 and even then you'll be waiting about 20 minutes. The menu is very extensive as far as pasta and choices of seafood dishes. We had the calamari ala mama!! It's so good!!!!! A salad came next bread and garlic infused oil. The main course was a pasta Alfredo with broccoli and the other was veal parmigiana. Both were delicious! our family seems to end up at Marchettis one time each year or so, for at least the last 5 years. Cranston happens to be a midpoint between all the aunts and uncles so we typically come in big groups and they always have a great table awaiting us. we always start with the calamari a la mama which is quite possibly the best calamari to touch planet earth, covered in a brown gravy and popping with flavor from pepperoncinis. the portions of it (like everything else on the menu) are huge and can feed up to 10 people as an appetizer. my tip is to avoid eating too much bread, salad, or appetizers because everything on the menu is beyond huge. I typically go for the seafood Alfredo, but this time I tried a twist on this called seafood Gorgonzola which was a disappointment compared to the meals I usually receive. the seafood was extremely overdone and rubbery, but the server apologetically took it off our bill. my husband tried the chicken Milanese which was TO DIE FOR!!! I can't believe I had never tried it before and wish I could have it again tomorrow. crispy chicken in a thick and delicious creamy cheese sauce with bubbly cheese over the top and baked to perfection and served with pasta. so delicious...try it! read more

Marchetti's is a go-to restaurant, and it's pretty clear why. They serve really big proportions of food for a reasonable price. My personal favorite item to order here would be the chicken parmigiana with pasta. It's big enough where you can take some home to have later on if you're hungry, and not too expensive. COVID-19 was a popular excuse among restaurants to serve less food for the same or even more money. However, I feel that Marchetti's has strayed away from that, which is something that shouldn't be overlooked. I have always liked Marchetti's restaurant. However last night was a disappointment. Started with a glass of Chianti, which was good. My waiter, pleasant, asked if we would like salad, which I thought was a great idea to check, as many times it goes to waste, when it's automatically delivered to the table. We also received bread and warm spiced oil, which was delicious. We ordered calamari, alla mama, but held off ordering our entrees, so we would have time to finish the salad, and appetizer. Twice the waiter asked if we were ready to order and twice I told him I wanted to wait, so I could enjoy the food already on the table. The third time the waiter asked again about entree order , we gave him our order with the understanding that it wouldn't be placed for at least 10 minutes, so we could finish our appetizer. I explained there would be no problem if we had to wait as we were enjoying our wine and conversation. Our order was at our table in 10 minutes. We now had salad appetizers and entrees that needed to fit on the table. I explained to the waiter, that's why we didn't want to place our entree order. He said he was so sorry but the kitchen was fast that night. Now I was stuck with , don't finish the app so the entree was eaten hot or finish the app and eat a cooled entree. I ordered veal parm for my entree and it was smothered in sauce. My first bite was soggy. I should have sent it back, but was already irritated that it came so quickly. I ate a quarter of the veal and asked for a to go container. Marchetti's used to be my go to restaurant for veal, but I will be looking for a new one, after this experience. I was so displeased with the arrival of the veal, I forgot to take a picture. If I did you would have seen it swimming in sauce. Parking was available the night we were there. Without any explanation the chicken parmesan came with meat pork sauce. I've been to so many restaurants world wide and I never been presented with meat sauce on chicken parmesan, this type of sauce should be requested instead of automatically served, The veal was very very thick and just plopped on big bowl of pasta, it didn't look appetizing. read more

My wife and I took our family of 10 to Marchetti's for the first time Saturday night. We had the best time that we've had out in a long time our waitress Lana was unbelievable she made sure we didn't want for anything. The prices were fantastic. The portions were huge so much. My wife and I were able to have two more meals out of all leftovers. I had the veal Parm and my wife had the veal franchise we tried the two different kinds of calamari that they offer. Amazing ambiance, great service, jumbo portions. Meatball was the size of a baseball, hand rolled and full of flavor. Veal Parmesan was fork tender, just the right amount of cheese and red gravy ( not tomato sauce) was fantastic. Our server was fantastic attending to our every need. She was polite yet reachable, smiling all the time. I loved the experience and will definitely return again and again. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. My girlfriend has been here a few times, and really liked the place, we've been planning on coming here together for sometime. The restaurant was extremely busy, parking is a nightmare, and there isn't a single handicap spot. We arrived at 5:58 for a 6 o'clock reservation and were told they will call when we're ready in 20 minutes or so, which turned out to be over half an hour. After finally getting to our table,10 minutes later, we were asked to move, and offered free appetizers, which we weren't planning on ordering in the first place. We couldn't hear by ourselves think because of loud conversations and a lot of screaming kids. The food was great, but I don't plan on coming back anytime soon. read more

I used to enjoy some of the dinners at Marchetti's. Have not been there in a year. Went last weekend. 3 people in our party. Two of them enjoyed their dinners. I did not unfortunately. Their salad is good. They got rid of the Italian bead! What? Now they serve dinner rolls. I used to like the thick slices of bread. Then they went to pre sliced. A mistake. Now rolls? I had the veal cutlet with red sauce. The sauce was over abundant drowning the veal. It was also overly seasoned. I prefer a very mild red sauce. Oh well. But the veal was thick and tough. I guess they forgot to pound the veal. A huge mistake. And the prices are too high. Yes there is a ton of food on the plates but I think they could do the customer a great favor by lowering the prices and cutting the amount of food by a third at least. I never take home a half ton of pasta. There's enough pasta with one dinner for 3-4 people. I don't like pasta leftovers. Not going back. read more

My first visit to Marchetti's was a great experience. There was a 30 minute wait at 5:30pm on a Saturday but it wasn't a problem. We were seated out in the patio which was heated. It was a great alternative with no wait. Our server was Eric and he really was great. Not just with us but with all his tables. Very friendly and responsive. I enjoyed watching him interact with the children. He is great at his job and owners, if you are reading this, give Eric a Raise - He Deserves IT! The food was great. I underestimated the portion sizes. They are absolutely huge and can feed a family of 4. My husband had Fettuccini Alfredo with mushrooms, tomato and spinach. I had the Eggplant Parm with pasta. Plus you have a really tasty salad, bread and we ordered stuffed mushrooms. So much food. Most of the entree was boxed up for tomorrow (and probaby Monday too!). How have I never been to Marchetti's before today!? My first impression that there is certainly not enough parking. I put my name, was told a few moments. My table was almost given away even though I was standing there for 20 minutes. The hostess said I had just got there... Anyways...Based off of the pictures provided from yelp I ordered the chicken Milanese and it did not disappoint. So cheesy and delicious. I also got a side of meatballs and they were very tasty. The meat sauce was amazing, I typically don't like red sauce. Dinner comes with warm bread and salad. For $16 you can't go wrong. Dinner was so good I grabbed a dessert to go. Kevin our waiter was attentive, filled drinks without needing to be asked. He alsp boxed our plates up with ease, all four poinds of it lol. All the servers were hussling. We went here for a birthday and it was great. We had to wait about 15minutes after our reservation but it was so busy and we had a large table you could expect anything else. Our servers were awesome, she was attentive and everything came out timely. The bread and garlic olive oil with the salad was a very nice start. The house dressing used was just amazing, it was so flavorful, I just loved it. I ordered the tortellini carbonara with breaded chicken and it was pretty good. I thought it could of used a tad more salt to bring out all the flavors and something to lighten up the heavy cream taste like some fresh herbs or a little bit of acidity. Overall it was delicious and well worth the price. The portions of the food is so wonderful, it gave me 3 or 4 meals including eating there. Lol. I have eaten at Marchetti's a couple of times a year for the last 10+ years. It's always been adequate or better until this afternoon 18 August 2021. My daughter is starting college tomorrow and my wife, eldest son and myself decided a nice family dinner at Marchetti's would be a good way to send her off. We had a reservation for 4PM which is when the restaurant opened and were promptly seated. Drinks and a couple or orders of calamari came out reasonably fast. Compared to the calamari we had back in June both of these orders were pathetic. I wasn't in the kitchen but it appeared to me that someone had emptied the very bottom of a bag of frozen calamari rings into the fryer and we got stuck with the dregs of batter left at the bottom. Three of the four in my party were planning on ordering veal. The waitress informed us that " we are out of veal" . Surprising and disappointing that Marchetti's didn't have any veal at 4PM on a Wednesday Afternoon but we took it in stride and told the waitress we would need a few more minutes to order. I decided on the stuffed shells with a side of meat ball and sausage. My son & daughter ordered the seafood chipino and seafood alfredo , my wife the penne special with meatball's. My son & daughter's meals came out and then my wife and I waited, I would guess the kids had their meals for 10 minutes before we were served. We told the kids to dig in before their food got cold. Both of them were satisfied with their selection and had no complaints. Eventually my wife and I were served. Four little shells with sauce over them, they looked pathetic. I ate one, the shell was cool on the inside, the pasta rubbery and the filling watery. Not even as good at Stouffers and to add insult to injury not even microwaved long enough to be HOT! My wife's penny "special" had an over powering basil flavor. She ate a few bites and said "lousy" and the meatballs typically good in past visits were not hot and had an odd texture that I would describe as "doughy". Since both of us disliked our meals, we swapped and each of us found the swapped meals equally disappointing. At this point I wanted OUT of the restaurant as soon as possible and didn't bother complaining. Our waitress came by to ask us if everything was "OK" and she could tell by my facial expression it wasn't. She informed us that we should have let her know and we could have had something else. With my kids having started eating long before us and disappointed with the meals we had been served, we declined and left the partially eaten meals on the table. Neither my wife or I had any desire to take anything home. I am not in the habit of asking for refunds and I did not do that tonight but in my opinion at least one of the disappointing meals should have come off the bill. I tipped 20% and the bill for the four of us was $173. I would have been absolutely fine with this if the experience had been satisfactory, I left wishing we had gone to the Olive Garden. Typically chain restaurants are not my style especially in Rhode Island with so many great Italian restaurants but tonight the Olive Garden would have been better then our experience at Marchetti's. To say that our experience was disappointing would be an understatement. Going out to eat is supposed to be fun and tonight at Marchetti's it was a chore. read more

I always love coming to Marchettis. Their portions are huge and the food is always delicious. I do miss the pictures they had on the walls of famous people, but they have redone it over making it look more modern. This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. The staff are very professional and go above and beyond for their customers. I wish they would bring their lobster sandwich back, biggest portion of lobster I have ever had in RI and so worth the price which was very reasonable compared to the other places that charge a lot for lobster on a small hot dog bun. read more

Omg. This is what Italian foodie dreams are made of. It doesn't get any better..... except maybe if the bread came out warm. The portions are insane, the sauce is ah-mazing. It had been years since my wife and I had been to this restaurant. But we weren't disappointed.The portions were huge, the meal I had was the veal saltimbocca. The veal was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Set atop a mountain of pasta in garlic and olive oil, with mushrooms and olives, well, heaven on my tongue. The tiramisu, made with ladyfingers was a surprise as well. Most restaurants where I've recently had tiramisu recently use the cheaper cake layered between something almost resembling whipped cream. Opener was the warmed olive oil with garlic and other spices followed by a mountain of chef's salad. Service was outstanding, Food delightful. I'll not wait so long again. read more

The first time I've ever been to Marchettis. I had the seafood fettuccine Alfredo. The shrimp scallops lobster ax sauce perfect. Would definitely get that again next time. The chicken Parmesan was so tender the sauce was perfect. Also had calamari Alamama that was so tender as well melt in your mouth absolutely delicious. I don't make mistakes that's her fault!!!" Then looks over at an older women who he was talking with who worked there also and start laughing as if the paying customer was the problem!?! I've been to many an Italian restaurant in Boston's North End and New York's Little Italy and Restaurant Row. None compare to Marchetti's. Right from the get go it was excellent. No waiting with my reservation. Harold our waiter was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. Veal parm with red gravy and stuffed shells were the best I've had. Salad was fantastic. If you like big portions, this is your "go to" restaurant. My personal preference is quality vs quantity Portion size obnoxiously huge. Quality a "big meh" at best. This is one of my favorite restaurants that i've been visiting for years. There is always a wait even with reservations and it is well worth it! I lived in Boston and this place beats a lot of the North End spots out of the water. Some of my favorite dishes are the calamari, seafood alfredo, and the chicken milanese (when I used to eat meat but i'm sure it's still phenomenal). Don't get me started on the bread, it's like crack or what I imagine crack would be like. I come here often for date night and family gatherings- my whole family loves it here. It seems this restaurant has gone downhill and their old bargains just don't seem like bargains anymore. Don't get me wrong they still give you a huge amount of food. By food I mean pasta. So when you see your entree hit the table and it's a huge mound of food your eyes pop and think wow what a deal! And then you realize that it's a half pound of pasta forming the mound. Then you find out that the pasta just breaks apart when you try to pierce the pasta with your fork. Obviously it's way over cooked. Guess that's all you can expect from the volume of business they have to work with. I've also noticed the protein portions are smaller than I've seen in the past. My veal parmigiana tasted burnt, it was definitely dry and rubbery to the chew. Should've gone with the chicken. The snail salad may as well be called a olive salad and I just don't see how they can charge the amounts they do on their seafood pasta dishes like the specials when all you get is over cooked pasta and very like seafood with watery sauce. read more
