Pasta seafood and Elvis Marchetti's is one of the multitude of Italian type restaurants in the area. Certainly not a fancy place, the menu is pretty basic but has some interesting and cool seafood and pasta things on it. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. Not just a little bit on the large size but really, really big. Always nice to leave a restaurant and not be still hungry. I found the food to be very good and well prepared. Not fancy but really good pasta and seafood type of stuff. I admit I don't know squat about really fine or gourmet food and this is exactly the kind of stuff I really enjoy. Tasty, filling and relatively inexpensive. We sat outside on the cool patio so I didn't get to see much of the interior but as I was looking for the bathroom I couldn't help to notice the large array of photos and pictures of Elvis on the walls. A bunch of other "famous" people I didn't recognize were also displayed but someone here definitely likes Elvis. A cool and totally unpretentious place. Like many reviewers I must say the portions are huge and the food seems endless. You start out with some bread (not warm, nothing special) and are also given a bowl of salad. I loved the dressing and appreciated the amount of black olives they put in, but again nothing 5 star. We ordered the crab cake appetizer. I would compare it to Van de Kamp's frozen food. Did not have that home made taste I get from other restaurants. I ordered the lobster ravioli, it was pretty decent - the portion was great for the price. I did have a piece of lobster shell in one of my ravioli's, but hey it happens - i chew my food pretty well, so this was no choking hazard or anything. Overall, the experience was average. Staff was friendly, the place was buzzing, but I am not sure I will be running back anytime in the near future. read more

Came here for lunch on Thursday and it was packed! I honestly just wanted to try their famed lobster roll so that's what I did. It was gigantic - definitely enough for two!! Our waitress was incredibly nice and prompt. Food came out so quick - lobster was incredibly fresh, fries were meh but I'm not a huge fries person to start. Regarding this lobster roll. It is legit! Not too much mayo, fat intact chunks of claw and tail, tender and perfectly salted (not too salty!), and just the right amount of crunchy celery cutting through all that luscious cholesterol. Pro tip - dunk a hunk of lobster claw in the garlic butter that comes with your bread and use it to paint the rest of your roll, being sure to hit the nooks and crannies of the bread itself. Yes, you deserve it. Now let me just discuss a few lobster rolls for comparison - I have to say, this one ranks up there with the gorgeous roll by the folks at Matunuck Oyster Bar and Neptune Oyster in Boston. I do prefer the Matunuck one for its gorgeous side salad with greens from their own garden. And Neptune Oyster's hot butter roll is something else entirely! But at $17 a roll, the Marchetti roll makes it on my list and I am for sure coming back to keep my blood pressure from dipping into the danger zone. read more

Tried the Chicken Milanese with a side of Penne Vodka and it was delicious! However I do not recommend tackling this plate alone, so much food. I end up taking the extra food home and getting 2 more meals out of it lol. But based on the price of the food and the portions, this a value not to be beat. Although your probably better off splitting the meal between a few people. One thing i did love was the fresh bread and salad that were included with the meal. I went this week for a work luncheon and when I walked past someones table I almost fell over at the size of the lobster chunks on the other patrons sandwiches. Came here on a Father's Day morning and didn't make reservations in advance, I was afraid we would have to wait before being seated, but fortunately that wasn't the case. First impression of the place, I'd have to say, not really big fan; frankly I think the decor w/ a hundred framed pictures of celebs on the wall is kinda cheesy. Either way, it wasn't too much of a bother. The place was rather busy as expected, higher elder to youth ratio but it's all good. The waitress, I want to say her name was Sandra (I know it began w/ an "S") was pretty much what you would hope to expect in a server, she was attentive, accommodating, and knowledgeable. You could tell she had been working here for a while now. I absolutely love the fact that the portions they give you could practically feed a whole table, esp. the appetizers. I came w/ a party of 4 (incl. myself) and I think we all filled up a little too soon on appetizers alone. The calamari w/ the butter sauce (I think it was) was really good and nothing like fried calamari I've tried before (and w/ that said it def. didn't taste greasy or fried at all). With all our miles of coastline you're telling me the biggest lobster roll in the state is in Cranston? Rest assured, they were right. This 14 ounce lobster roll comes served with fries ($16.95) and was an absolute, but delicious, monstrosity. You can have it your way, either cold or as a baked stuffed lobster roll. If you have ever been bummed out by poor lobster portions or by a low lobster-to-bread ratio, than this one is for you. Finishing this beast in one sitting is a resume-worthy accomplishment. As far as the rest of the menu items go, the portion sizes run large. My wife made an additional three meals out of her chicken Parmesan pasta. We came here for dinner on a Sunday night, it was busy but not crazy. We did not have to wait for a table. We had the sangria, we did prefer the white over the red. I had the penne with vodka and shrimp, it was good. There was a lot of shrimp, so worth the additional price. The salad here is very good, I love the dressing. The bread was good as well. My fiancé got the Chicken Farfalle, they were out of the pasta so he got penne instead he liked his meal, but said he would not get it again. The servings are very large. Our server was very good. Everybody mentions about the huge portion size in the Yelp review but I seriously had no idea it's this big until I ordered my seafood marinara pasta. For mere $14.95, it was large enough to feed three girls! What a steal!! The flavor too was not compromised and had generous amount of seafood in it. I found out they also serve enormous lobster rolls for $21.95 and after seeing our neighboring table's order I regretted going to another place which charged me $17 and had only half the amount of lobster meat that Marchetti serves. This is such a great group dining place, I wish something like this existed in NJ!! Ok I will grant you that the wait can be very long but why do you think that is? It's fantastic, that's why! I have been three times and every time has been absolutely amazing. The food is soooooo good, always served piping hot and fresh out of the pan. And huge portions! Leftovers! Yum! The bread and warmed garlic olive oil with spices is so darn good you could make a meal of it with the family style salad they serve with the meal. Nice fresh veggies in the salad. No brown or wilted stuff. I got a special last time I was there and was not disappointed. Rigatoni with chicken cutlet, roasted red peppers, and banana peppers in a garlic wine sauce. Delicious! It's not fine dining, so don't go there expecting that. But it is a place where you will consistently get incredibly good food, huge portions, good service and pay a reasonable price. You may end up waiting for a table for a while unless you go early or make reservations. We have sat in the bar all three times we went. Seating seems more available there. Came in for lunch on a Sunday. Let me begin by saying that the server was a gentleman, but the rest of the experience was a disaster. We ordered a pomegranate martini. It's certainly a big serving...but it tasted like cough medicine. We then ordered calamari alla something or other. And what was placed in from of us was soggy calamari in some grey gravy that tasted like medieval gruel. Awful. But the worst was yet to come. Our main course was lemon sole and a pasta with seafood. The food runner before placing the dishes on the table spilled the sauce from the sole onto the floor. It was a literal "pouring" of sauce on the floor. But that was fine "except for sauce being all over the plate bottom and then dripping onto me" cause there was still a gallon of it in the dish. It was disgusting! But despite drowning in the aforementioned sauce...the dish was bland, well except for the skin which had a rancid smell to it. My partner who ordered the pasta and seafood dish found that most of the seafood was undercooked. And in the base of the pasta dish was all the water the kitchen left after neglecting to drain the pasta, properly. We barely ate anything...and not for lack of appetite. We paid and left. The server was very affable and we didn't want to make things difficult. It's just a lesson learned for us. I'll never step foot in that restaurant again. Holy moly this place packs em' in! Called Saturday morning and took the only available reservation for 4 at 5:30 PM. That's way earlier than I would normally eat dinner but it was for a friends birthday so we took it. We arrived 15 minutes early and let the desk know we were there. In an effort to get in we said just give us first available. They called our name maybe 20 minutes later and we navigated through the masses in the lobby to get back to the hostess station. If you have problems with tight spaces or crowds of people - I would say to avoid this place on the weekend! We were seated in a booth right near the bar area. The bus boys were turning the tables over like lightning and I really felt for the pressure they were under. We started with waters that came quickly while waiting for our sangria (they have both red and white). We chose the red which was very good - fruity enough and sweeter than I expected, which was good! We made the mistake of ordering appetizers - they were delicious and it was hard to keep from picking at!!... Mushroom caps with ritz cracker stuffing (no seafood yay!) in my opinion - the mushroom really is just a vehicle for the stuffing! The stuffing was tasty! We also got the Calamari (not ala mama - not everyone wanted the brown gravy version) and it was really good. Banana pepper rings, black olives, delicious sauce! Our waitress was very attentive and even offered to put our food on hold since we were still working on the delicious apps! When the dishes came we were all amazed at the portion sizes! I had the veal over pasta (one very large piece that spanned the entire plate!) , my mate had chicken parm (two entire breasts!!) I am not typically a Chicken Parmesan fan, and rarely order this in restaurants but after witnessing multiple people with me ordering this I decided to try it. Totally worth it! Two over sized chicken breast, topped with Parmesan cheese and Pink Vodka Sauce over the top of pasta. This picture doesn't do the size of this meal justice! You must see it for yourself... You will be shocked! The other dish we ordered, gave us split emotions. I cannot say that I was impressed by the Sirloin Steak Alla Mama. The steak was covered in hot peppers with a garlic butter & white wine sauce. The combination of these flavors gave the steak a bitter sour taste that I found repulsing! We LOVE Marchetti's and was dying for it last night. It was the first time we were ever disappointed. My husband always gets Frutti Di Mare. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they will make it if you ask. Usually it's full of seafood but my husband asked for extra seafood and was willing to pay for it. It got to the table with 6 mussels, 2 shrimps,and scallops. We called the waiter over and he said he didn't know but he asked for extra seafood. My husband asked for a manager. I just want to add that in 20 plus years we have never complained. The manager came over and said it looked like extra to him and he's been there 8 years. I spoke up and told him that we get this all the time and that this wasn't even regular seafood and not even close to extra. First let me say that I have been to Marchetti's Restaurant many times for birthdays and New Year's Eve. Recently, on 7/31/22 my wife made a reservation for six at 3:00 pm. We arrived approx. 2:45 pm but had to wait a few minutes for the last two of our party to arrive. When they arrived we were seated at a booth at the end of the restaurant. The booth was good size but clearly not large enough for six adults (I am glad we were not larger people). I immediately voiced my concern to the receptionist. We were offered a larger table on the patio but it was not air conditioned so we refused. The booth was so crowded we were putting out dirty dishes on the clean table across from us. Approx. half way through our visit the receptionist came down and explained that she did have tables in the next room but they were designed to seat twelve. She did not say they were in use or would be used only that they were there. They twelve seating was not offered to us. A question at this point would be if they did move us and twelve people came in why could they not be offered to them? Lastly, as I stated earlier, we arrived at 2:45 PM. We were seated, fed and out the door by 4:10. This was after I expressed to the waitress we were in no hurry. If I wanted fast food I would have gone to McDonald's and had room to sit. We came out to celebrate my in-laws 32nd wedding anniversary and what a wonderful time! My in laws used to go here early in their married days so it was wonderful to reminisce with them. While it's a little pricier than your average place, the portions are unreal in size and the drinks were strong! Two drinks had my giggling! The bread and oil was a little salty but, I'll never be mad at that! I order the seafood Alfredo and at $23 for the plate, I was not disappointed! There was 5/6 full lobster claws, tons of shrimp, and plenty of scallops and after eating I barely made a dent in the giant plate of food. This place is amazing. I would pass bye it all the time and always say we should try it. Well one night we all decided on it and boy I'm glade we did now we go back once a week for the amazing food and service. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. The portion size is crazy you get so much food. One place of pasta and 2 meatballs is enough for my husband myself and my 2 year old to split. Mine you my 2 year old is picky but when we come here she eats like crazy. The stuffed shells are great to loaded with ricotta and tiled with just the right amount of cheese and sauce you get 4 large ones to a order. The meatballs are to die for I usually refuse to eat meatballs from restaurants but I love them here. The salad is so good topped with the house dressing which they sell for only $4.99 how awesome is that. My daughter eats all the tomato's and cucumbers from the salad. The bread they give you is also good but that oil mixture they give you to dip it in is amazing we always order a extra one. I highly recommend you try this place out it will blow your mind. Go early because if you don't the line is out the door. They have reservations so call ahead or take the food out and eat home. Drinks are really good to not the usual bull you get a really good one with the right amount of alcohol and then the second one blows with nearly any alcohol in it.
