I REALLY wanted to love this place. We decided to go out and just go get some appetizers so we settled on Marchwood Tavern. At first glance they looked pretty inviting nice table seating outside with patio heaters & outdoor TVs. We get a seat without a problem staff is very nice. I got an iced tea which was not that great. Wife and I only then had water. We ordered the loaded fries, French onion soup, and jerk wings. The food came out in a very timely manner, nice and hot. The loaded fries were excellent with tons of bacon and cheese. The French onion soup was also very good it had a nice deep flavor that seemed homemade. The big disappointment though was the jerk wings. The amount of salt on them was inedible. I left three on the plate because I just could not take any more salt. I really really really wanted to like them but could not get over the salt and it just stayed with both of us for over an hour afterwards. seating on the inside was a little dark but nice, lots of TVs around with the games on, and it seems like a very friendly crowd. If I was in the area again I would probably give it another shot but I am not going out of my way to rush back. The owner did come over to our table and asked how the food was and when I mentioned how salty the jerk seasoning was he only said "yes there is a lot of salt in it". read more

Had lunch today and we loved the cheesesteak and chicken steak lunch special. Roxys soups are always great and the staff is always welcoming. This is a hidden gem that has great food, great specials, awesome staff with very low turnover and stellar service no matter who is working. My girlfriend and I stopped in last night for a beer or two. The bartender was super nice and attentive. They also had Taco Tuesday specials: 2 beef tacos for $2 or 2 chicken tacos for $3.25 with the option of hard or soft tacos or both! They weren't skimpy either. The tacos came fully loaded with plenty of protein and toppings. Their website indicates they have Wednesday night wing specials too. Great food and great service at great prices! Hands-down the creepiest "restaurant" I ever stepped foot in. We walked in and immediately turned around and walked out. I'm not sure if it was the appearance (dark w/ dirty old yellow lighting) or the fact that "it smelled like cigarettes and old people" (direct quote from my boyfriend) or a combination of the two. There was no way we were going to be able to sit down there and eat their food. Before arriving, we YELP'd it and I was disappointed with the reviews considering a lot were negative. Waitress Jackson had a crazy bad attitude the whole night, food was wrong but I didn't bring it up because she was so hostile. We were brought the wrong checks at least 4 times. Eventually the checks covered everything we had (plus 10 extra wings and an extra drink) but we just wanted to leave. I left and was accused of leaving without paying. Laughable experience. The reviews giving Weso's 5 stars have got to be scam reviews. The decor hasn't been updated since the 1970's, the food is very average pub food and service is decent but not amazing. There are much better and newer places within a 5 minute drive down route 100 into Exton. Weso's is mostly a hangout for regulars (they usually sit around the bar) and not for new customers. We've attended their trivia nights on Thursdays for the last 2 years because the host, Andrew Behringer, was totally amazing. They cancelled their trivia last week and replaced it with two slick looking guys with a karaoke machine.. real let down. What's worse is that Andrew was only given a few days notice and the customers were given none.. I guess they wanted us to show up like usual and take part of their awesome (not) new karaoke. Real bummer and an awful way of taking care of long time customers. read more

We try to support local businesses and order take out 1-2 times a week. We called Marchwood and placed our order and we were told it would be 45 minutes. We arrived an hour later and the order still was not ready. We waited another hour in the car sitting in their lot before our food was brought out. We called in to check on the order many times and we were told they were behind. In this time, we watched numerous parties sit at the outside tables and receive their food, some even left in the time we were still waiting. We understand places are short staffed due to covid, but if you are behind don't tell the customer 45 minutes when it is really 2 hours!! We asked to speak to the manager when we finally received our order and we were told "sorry, nothing we can do". We will continue to support other local businesses, but Marchwood Tavern will not be one of them! read more

Been going here for years. Great food and wings, etc. Decided to go back since the pandemic and was disappointed. Sat down and ordered drinks. Brought my wife's but not my beer. Unusual but OK. A while later I asked where is my beer? I'll check she said. Came back sorry, we are out of that beer. OK, I ordered another beer. Waited quite a bit and no beer. Then our food came. Half way through it she came to me and said they are all out of that beer as well. I said I'll skip it. I ordered the prime rib which used to be good. Medium I said. Came back well done and dry and luke warm. Along with squash. But I ordered broccoli. Will try again in a while. Hopefully they will get back to the way they used to be. You come to Wesos for one thing: Wings! These are the best wings you will ever eat! Bone in, lightly crispy, generously sauced, and served up with a side of blue cheese or ranch dressing and celery. On Wednesdays and Sundays it's 35 cents a wing! plus $2.50 Lager drafts. That's 10 wings and a Lager for $6. The prefect mid week happy hour! They are currently renovating including an updated draft system - new coolers, and updated bathrooms. It's a welcome improvement but not a far stretch from the bar you know and love! read more

My advice is don't eat at this place. Hadn't eaten here in years and won't be going back. Ate outdoors in their parking lot. Table was sticky even after a 2nd cleaning. We ordered the buffalo chicken dip appetizer..it was bad. Then ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the shaved pork sandwich with provolone that was very strong...almost tasted spoiled. Shaved pork was akin to lunch meat. Neither sandwich arrived hot or even warm. Unfortunately, our server was also inattentive and kept disappearing. She gave us our check and then never came back to pick it up...so after waiting awhile, we left cash and walked out. Don't waste your money here...bad "bar food"! read more

When she finally made it to our table to take our order, we just ordered everything all at once. We waited another 45 minutes and still did not get our meal. The food was very expensive for a garbage meal. I got the shrimp scampi and the shrimp was surprisingly good however the pasta was so bland it was like they just dumped on some Italian seasonings and a little butter. My boyfriend got some sort of chicken breast sandwich and he said it was the worst food he's had in long time. We won't make that mistake again. read more

It was okay..we used a Groupon. My girlfriend hated our experience, I didn't mind it as much. Pros: Good, friendly service, beer specials, curly fries were awesome, broccoli bites were impressive, I had a solid burger. Cons: Thing that got me the most was the fact that I paid to put 2 songs on the jukebox, just before they shut off the jukebox to turn on the March Madness Final 4 game with audio. Waste of a dollar! The 250 lb waitress who did a striptease in front of the window, eww, the bartender who was heard talking about me when I walked into the bathroom, the onion rings were crispy but had zero flavor, and I only got 6, the mozzy sticks were undercooked, the club sandwich was lunchmeat, we could have went to Giant and made a better sandwich. I have nothing against dive bars, but there wasn't many redeeming qualities about this place. We probably won't be back. It'll probably be on an upcoming episode of Restaurant Impossible, and after that, we still won't be back. read more

This is one of the best kept secrets in Chester Co.! I recommend the 9 oz. sirloin which comes with a wonderful sauce with grilled onions and mushrooms, salad, roasted baby potatoes, vegetable and bread & butter. Sticky bun bread pudding and bananas foster cheesecake bites are just two of their delicious desserts. The porkette sandwich is delicious, if you're looking for a good sandwich. Weso's has the best wings in the measurable universe. All those that say their wings aren't good just don't know what good wings are. They are the dumb people of wingology. Weso's has the best crispy-to-meat-to-sauce ratio, plus the bleu cheese and celery are super freaking good. This is what the critic of Weso's says: "The wings are too small, such and such a place has big wings." Great! Eat there please! More room for me on wing night. Big wings are slimy on the inside and have a poor crispy-to-meat-to-sauce ratio. I was expecting a hidden treasure when I saw the yelp reviews on weso's. Almost walked out once I walked in the door. This place had the smell of past year cigarette smoke that hits once you open the front door. The decor was that of a hole in the wall diner from the 70s. The foot was almost on the foul tasting side. Crab cakes were fishy. Waitresses and bartender were amazingly friendly. I will not be returning. read more

I've been coming here for years now. If it's Wednesday night, I'm probably here. This place is reasonably priced and 35 cent wings on Wed is pretty awesome. The wings can be small at times but they are real crispy which I love. They make their own hot sauces (I tend to get 10 regular hot and 10 habanero). The regular hot sauce is nice and buttery and the habanero sauce has a good kick with a relatively original flavor. A Yueng is only 3 bucks (used to be 2.50) so you can break the week up with under ten dollars. As far as their other food goes, it's a tad mediocre. Service quality is a bit volatile but the wings themselves come out very quickly and are usually fresh out of the fryer. read more
