If I could give Marcos Jewelers 100 stars I would - I came in here this week after having a terrible experience at Nordstrom SONO to get links taken out of my Fendi watch. After Nordstrom told me to go to Kohls to get the watch adjusted (even though I paid at lot for it AT Nordstrom), I stopped in here because it was near my house. They are the most pleasant people. They helped me decide how many links to have taken out and had it done within 10 minutes while I waited. I also needed my wedding ring appraised for insurance and Andrew was able to do it for me within just a couple days. My fiance purchased my stone and setting from separate vendors and came to Marco to set and appraise the completed product, for which he paid a large some of money. While he could have set the stone where he purchased it, he wanted to develop a relationship with a local jeweler, someone we could go to for maintenance, and ultimately buy our wedding bands from. We got engaged a few months ago so I figured it was time to go in, have the ring cleaned, and the center stone checked. In addition, I also mentioned I wanted to start looking at wedding bands to see what types they had and what might look nice with my ring. First impressions.....the store was dingy, outdated, and had a bit of an old smell. But I wasn't going to let that stop me! I walked in, excited to meet them, see my ring sparkle and start looking at bands. However, to my surprise they didn't seem all that eager to help me. The guy skeptically asked the name of my fiance, and ultimately refused to clean the ring because "the setting wasn't purchased there, and he cannot be held accountable" if something were to happen to it. How many people get their rings cleaned per day, and how often does something happen to it? He went on to explain that due to the vibration and air in the machine, one of the pave stones could be knocked loose, and I would then have to pay them to reset it!?!?! To some extent it seemed reasonable, so I asked if he had another way to clean this type of setting, I am certain this isn't the first micro-pave setting he has ever seen. His response.....? "YOU can take it home, get an old toothbrush and clean it YOURSELF with some warm soapy water." I was shocked!! By far the worst customer service I have ever seen, and I most certainly will be taking my business for a wedding band elsewhere. read more

I have a watch with a Swarovski bezel and two stones had fallen out, not knowing a jeweler in town I went to Yelp and found Marco Jewelers. They were so nice and very friendly, I told them I had just relocated to CT and hoped they could repair my watch because I needed it for that evening. This past weekend I entered Marco jeweler with my two children. one pick out gold ball studs the other white Gold ones. My total was $127.00 for both sets. Unfortunately my youngest daughter lost one earrings a day later, my second daughter lost hers three days later do to the quality of the backing. The thin loop that holds the earring in place one side completely broke off. So I decided to go back and talk to the woman she seemed very nice the first time and reasonable. So I asked if there was anything she could do for me like just give me one set of matching earrings, for the money that I had already spent. She was not willing to work with me she continue to tell me that she would give me a discount on a new pair. She did not even offer to dip the other one so I have at least two matching earrings For my little girls. read more

Called beforehand about replacing a watch battery. When I arrived, the price jumped higher than phone price quoted. Claimed this battery was very expensive and brought an opened battery package marked $35.00. This was a little fishy but I figured I was already there so I'd go ahead and let this go. While waiting, I googled this "expensive" battery. 1 battery cost $1.15 however if you bought 10 batteries, it would cost $8.50. And they would arrive in new unopened packages. There were other customers in the store and I did not wish to embarrass Marco Jewelers by confronting them with their lies and greed. Note to Marco Jewelers: don't assume all your customers are idiots that you can hustle. Perhaps this will be read by a potential customer who will now be forewarned of your practices. read more

Not a pleasant shopping experience. If you are in the market for a real piece of jewelry, run! Merchandise is extremely limited, I think the catch is they try to sell a "custum" made to order piece. They will show you a mold that consists of something that looks like zip ties. If you aren't satisfied upon creation when it is done, you are SOL. There are no refunds or exchanges. You will have to start over and buy another new ring from them $$$$. Any reputable store will make changes until the customer is happy and satisfied. The only fee that you may incur is if there is a price differential of more expensive band, stones etc. service is run by an older couple who are just plain rude. I would stick to buying figurines and timex watches that are in the store - they can't screw that up! read more

I recently bought a watch at Marco Jewelers in Stamford. The customer service is very personal and kind, unlike what you will find at a shopping mall. I was able to buy a Citizen quartz , eco-drive watch, all stainless steel, for about $200. It is as nice as similar watches that cost $5,000 or more. The main differences are that the eco-drive watch keeps perfect time, is solar powered, never needs a new battery, and does not need to be insured as it is reasonably priced, I highly recommend Marco Jewelers. read more

I needed to get a battery replaced on a Burberry watch that got some condensation, and did not want to deal with Time Zone in the Stamford Mall. Ana Maria was great! Once she opened the watch, she saw that there was evidence of water damage, and potential rust. Before she even put in the new battery, she advised me that most likely that watch will not work and will need a new movement. And she was right. She was not going to charge me for the new battery, but I insisted on keeping it in case the old watch decided to wake up. I will be taking all of my watches to Ana Maria for battery replacement.
