Inferior merchandise. Owner LIES. Sold damaged merchandise to uneductuatd buy. Then when I returned, owner claimed buyer must have taken it out of the box and damaged it. Not so. Still in original box. Owner was SO HAPPY to unload a flawed piece to a buyer with less-than-educated experience. (I can just see him giggling in the back room. "Hey, I sold that damaged Movado a rube!" When I tried to replace with undamaged piece, owner was rude and blamed my gentle husband for wrecking mechandise. You can NOT scratch a saphire crystal on a Movado watch without a drill. No drill was used. Bad business. I have a feeling my husband did not take the watch out to the box, hit it with a drill, rewrap it and then gave it to me for Christmas. It was gift wrapped at the store for Christ's sake! I have NEVER worn the watch (which I badly wanted) because of the OBVIOUS flawl Let the buy beware and STAY away from this charlatan. STAY AWAY!!! NAGI IS A CHEAT. PLUS, guard was hesitant to let me in to NAGI. Jeans, sneaker, Alice Cooper t-shirt, TIMEX Watch and QUEEN button on my jean jacker. Guess I am the clientele they discourage in their establishment. My relationship with Nagi started off strong. He seemed very professional and polite to start. He recommended Christian Bauer wedding bands to look at. I chose a platinum/18k gold band for myself. Within three weeks it had warped substantially. Nagi was very nice and said he would send it back to Germany to have it reshaped and reconditioned. After ONE MONTH I got the ring back. After another three weeks taking extra care to not do any physical activity with the band on to protect it, it warped AGAIN. At this point I wanted to speak directly with Christian Bauer to figure out what was going on. Nagi gave me the phone number of the Christian Bauer distributor, Penn Gem International. Their website looks like a scam. They are supposedly a diamond and precious gem wholesaler, which happens to operate in a strip mall next to a tanning salon in a small town in Pennsylvania. Google Street View doesn't even show a storefront for them. How is a company that barely has a website the SOLE distributor for such a supposedly fine brand like Christian Bauer? The answer is that Christian Bauer is not a fine brand. They even had the audacity to post recently that their platinum rings won't bend over time! In the same post they referred to platinum as a 'meDal' instead a 'meTal'. Last time I checked platinum was not an Olympic medal. At this point I was begging anyone from Christian Bauer to call me. They ignored me but took my free advice and changed their Facebook post to look a little less stupid, but luckily I took a screenshot of it before it was updated. Also, their company website says to tweet them @christianbauer. Please take a look at @christianbauer. It is an Italian guy with a guitar in his avatar. Scroll down and there is actually a tweet referencing some jewelry symposium in Vancouver. I bet the Italian guy was pretty surprised with that. Long story short Nagi said he is standing by this product and company. How he could stand by a company that has horrendous customer service, a corporate website the references a twitter handle that is not their own, and a social media manager that cannot distinguish precious metals and Olympic medals is beyond me. I had a great experience with NAGI Jewelers who made my engagement and wedding rings. We worked with Jeff, who was friendly, informative, and quick to respond to any emailed questions. My husband picked NAGI Jewelers without researching because it was a convenient location, but they ended up doing such a great job with our custom pieces. They designed a beautiful engagement ring using a new central diamond framed by two smaller diamonds from my the mother-in-law's engagement ring, with a rose gold tapered band. I was so delighted they were able to use diamonds that were not their own to make such a meaningful and stunning ring. Upon receiving it, I was immediately stunned by its beauty and taken aback by the personal touch. It was the perfect addition to a perfect engagement to a perfect husband! My husband chose a ring size that was a little too large, so we went to have it resized a couple weeks after the engagement. They took the ring and we went out to lunch down the street and they were done before we even finished! It was so nice to not have to be without it for long while they were resizing it. When we were ready to purchase our wedding bands, we of course went back to NAGI Jewelers. My husband picked a beautiful band from the example bands in store. It was a white gold band with rose gold edging to match my rings. I had a very specific vision of what I wanted my own band to look like that was not available to try on in store, so I provided them with pictures, a sketch, and details of exactly what I wanted my band to look like. They got to work and make computer generated images to give me an idea of what the band would look like together with my engagement ring. They were going to make a plastic version of the ring to try on, but there was a miscommunication and this step was skipped. They assured me that they could still make any changes if I did not like the final product, but that was not at all necessary! The finished ring design was flawless and fit seamlessly with my engagement band. When my husband got his ring back (which was made in Germany) we realized that the engraving of our initials and date on the inside looked slightly different. It was very important to me that they look exactly the same, so after reaching out to Jeff he immediately had the ring re-engraved so that they matched perfectly. All I can say about my experiences at Nagi, is that they have all been positive. We've brought for the most part, problems to Jeff, repairs and the such - not easy, not big dollars and service intensive hassles - and they have been great, and the repairs well done. Purchases have been easy and prices competitive. For us, its all been good. I also like having a local business that has world class goods in Stamford, I mean, who wants to go to Greenwich when you want something fancy? I have also come to like, and trust them, based on our interactions. Once i learned about some of the psychotic behaviors of their neighbors - the insane vitriol and sociopathic and inane hate filled ramblings - I felt compelled to raise my hand and support this family owned and run business. These are good people and if Stamford wants to keep some semblance of personality and not be further overrun by CVS's and Wells Fargo banks, we better start supporting businesses like Nagi Jewelers. I have ben a business owner and It's hard (no, make that impossible) to defend yourself and your business once some nut on the internet decides to make you his hobby - so be smart - check Nagi out before you pay any mind to the kooks. read more

Prude and pretentious to say the very least. We felt that the salesperson were bossing us and the whole environment was extremely uncomfortable. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. Their claim is that all designs are unique as they are made on premise. However we didn't find it that unique to be twice as expensive than Blue Nile or Diamond District. I recently bought a preowned Audemars Piguet, and Armand assisted me throughout the process, answering all of my questions, even the OCD ones, and taking the time to call me back despite my reservations. Armand was professional, courteous, friendly, informative, and unwavering in his accommodations. It can be daunting to spend nearly 15k on a preowned watch, and Armand made me very comfortable with the process - everything from splitting the invoice between cards, to taking additional photos as requested, to informing me of any blemishes I might find, to super-fast delivery, and more! The watch arrived today, and I couldn't be happier! It's in even more MINT condition than advertised - better than expected! Once you see the quality of what Nagi carries in his store, It's clear where to go from then on. It's such a relief when making a purchase not to worry about all those details which can be stressful to someone not trained in diamonds like clarity, color etc... If I could give negative stars, I would. We went to Nagi jewelers to have the center stone of my engagement ring reset into a new setting, a lovely gift from my husband Christmas 2015. The work took a lot longer to do than originally quoted, and the communication around that was very poor. I had to call multiple times, and once even went to pick up the ring at an appointed time, only to find that it was not ready. I was irritated. However, I could have handled all that, those are minor annoyances. But the work was shoddy. The center stone fell out within a month or two of getting the ring back. Thank goodness I caught it. Foolishly, I brought it back to Nagi for the repair. When the stone fell out the second time a couple of months ago, it was lost for good. This was emotionally devastating. We scoured the house for months, I even walked around the neighborhood picking up every tiny shiny object hoping that I would find, every day for a week. No luck. Now, I've brought the setting to another jeweler, to have a replacement stone (a much cheaper version, because we're not rich, we can't just buy another diamond like that) so that at least I could have the beautiful setting my husband got me. The new jeweler just told me that he can't believe that Nagi let me leave with this shoddy prong holding my diamond. Apparently the box was completely worthless and would never have held a stone in place. I have never written a negative review in my life, but this was just heartbreaking news. I feel cheated, and I've lost something irreplaceable, due to their negligence. Don't trust them with your prized possessions. They are not worthy of your trust. read more

These are the worst people I've ever dealt with in any business! Unbelievable that someone owning a business and dealing with the public could be so greedy and rude. This is an update to the review I wrote after picking up a John Hardy chain that I had brought to them to replace the lobster claw clasp. When I picked up the chain it had been stripped of its blackened, Hardy signature patina (subsequent evaluation of the chain by JH via Shreve Crump and Low in Greenwich stated that it had been dipped in acid). I was directed to speak to the owner, Liz, about the horrible mistake they had made. Not only did Liz not apologize for the error--she said they had soldered the clasp and then had "polished" the whole thing--she insisted that I should be GRATEFUL that they had done so. I was appalled--and I told her so. Honestly, if she had treated me with respect, said she was sorry the chain was stripped, and reassured me that she'd fix it, I would not have been so angry--I held off on writing a followup to my first review thinking the matter would be handled that way, with concern and grace. Nope. She did say she could "fix" it and I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, even though she was arrogant, rude, and unapologetic. The "fix" was a total botch job--uneven, blotchy.... awful! I knew then I was going to have to send it back to John Hardy and hope they could restore it, or I'd have to buy a new chain. Luckily, JH (via Shreve Crump) said they could restore it..... for $90. I actually hated the thought of dealing with the people at Nagi again, but it seemed like adding insult to injury to have paid them to repair the piece and then needing to spend $90 to repair the damage they did, so I called Liz. I thought I was being nice not to ask them to pay for the repair---just asked them to refund the $65 I'd paid them to "fix" the clasp. I was astounded when Liz said no! What kind of business person refuses to accept responsibility of any kind for a mistake???? The greed and arrogant disregard for customers is appalling, an opinion that I see is shared by other reviewers. Luckily I had only brought Nagi a relatively inexpensive piece to repair.... otherwise I'd definitely be taking action against them to be made whole. Nagi is a great jeweler that takes extraordinary care to please their clientele. Jeff and Mr. Nagi helped me recreate a lost wedding band so I could surprise my wife on her birthday. Since my wife would have noticed if my ring was gone Nagi had to create a casting from my wedding band -- he had to cut my ring (we couldn't get it off after 37 years on my finger) then cast the ring and resize it -- all in 4 hrs. Amazing. never knew my ring had to be removed--Mission accomplished. No other jeweler could do it in one day -- and I talked 1/2 dozen of the best in the NYC and Stamford -- only Nagi was able to deliver and with great customer service, craftsmanship, and reasonably priced. My engagement ring was designed at Nagi Jewelers. My fiancé was so happy he chose to work with them. The amount of customer service he received was incredible. They were truly interested in learning more about the both of us and designed a completely unique piece for our engagement, and I have to say they absolutely nailed! We are now designing our wedding bands and now I can see for myself how amazing the staff is. They are thorough and have so much knowledge about jewelry design and esthetic. During the design of the engagement ring they took a ton of notes and saved them for when we went back to start designing the wedding rings. Nagi Jewelers is a family business that has been in Stamford for years. I've been to their store a bunch of times bought a number of pieces from them. I've always been treated extremely well. The thing I like about their jewelry is it's unique, made by real designers, not the average made-in-China jewelry you see in the Dept stores. Yes, it is more expensive than averge but it's custom, high-end jewelry and worth it. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and a pleasure to visit. Try out one of their charity events. Took my broken necklace in for a repair, did not notice that the chain was put on backwards. Emily told me to "bring it back; we will fix it." When I took it back, Alan agreed with me that the repair would mean cutting the chain again and given the delicate nature of the chain, I said "forget it, I guess I'll live with the mistake". I gave Allen the chance to make things right and perhaps compensate me for the jewelry I just had cleaned. He stated it was "apples and oranges". Not even a refund for their mess up of my necklace. After a mediocre customer service experience at the Blue Nile store in Westchester while resizing my engagement ring, we decided to try a local jeweler to purchase our wedding bands, and we're very glad we did! The staff, even when the store was busy, gave us their undivided attention when it was our turn. They happily pulled every band we wanted to try, let us take pictures, and explained the differences between all the different types of metals. It's also great that they have a jeweler onsite for any resizing and polishing so you don't need to ship the ring anywhere to have it serviced. They made the ring shopping experience fun and we ended up with rings we're proud to wear. Not to mention they always offer to quickly clean my rings when we go into the store and offered free engraving on our wedding bands. This place is amazing! We went looking for a simple wedding band and they helped us find the perfect one. At not point did anyone try to up-sell us something more expensive or pressure us in a direction. They really listen. Thoroughly awful experience. Went to sell precious metals, which I had done previously with the owner with no problems. Dealt with "Liz" this time, who was an overly abrasive individual that wasted an excessive amount of my time. After first being told to return the next day or possibly later the same day, I was subsequently told to return four days later with a price to sell that was 3 times higher than quoted on the phone. This price was also at least two times higher than their most expensive local competitor. While protesting this she became agitated and indicated that she did not care for my business. 2 silver bracelets - all I wanted was a security clasp put on them so I would not lose them... for some reason the communication just wasn't there with the repair department (in fairness they were very nice)... it took my returning three times - each time making exactly the same request. I became so frustrated that the last time my husband had to bring them back and of course additional costs - until I finally said "you're not going to charge me again are you?!" only then was I not charged. This was a simple request - the cost came to $100.00 + AND when they finally appeared to be repaired as I requested... the first time I wore one of the bracelets - within a half hour it was on the floor beside my foot - the "lobster claw" hook in silver which I paid a bundle for was faulty - it did not close properly AND it was never soldered onto my bracelet - so near my foot was the bracelet and separate from that was the lobster claw.... too much frustration and expense for me - I could have done this job myself! So now I will either fix the bracelet with an exact (but working) silver clasp from Ebay that will cost me $5.00 - or I will bring my Ebay clasp somewhere else and have it soldered - But nothing will bring me back . I now will not wear the other bracelet until I have the work looked at by another jeweler - Sorry for this review ...but.... read more

Working with Nagi Jewelers has been such a positive experience! My fiancé and I visited in late December 2015 to look at wedding bands for our June 2016 wedding and worked with Allan. We eventually decided to purchase two plain bands, as well as have a custom diamond eternity band made for me using stones from a family ring. Allan was extremely helpful and honest throughout the whole process about price, what could/couldn't be done, and the timeframe for the ring to be created. The store also worked with us to find matching diamonds for the ring in addition to the ones we already had and did a wonderful job. Allan was super responsive to emails and always welcomed us to the store. Even after getting my custom ring, a few months later there were a few tweaks I felt were needed to the setting and Allan continued to patiently work with us to make sure it was perfect for our wedding day.
