The pizza was just right this time, and a cut above in quality. This time I got chicken on it in addition to my usual spinach. I liked the chicken but my wife didn't. The setting is decent: it didn't seem loud this time, though their phone ring is far too loud, and it was uncrowded, so it's relaxing. The bathroom is still good. The plasticware isn't the good stuff they used to have: it was flimsy this time. When I want to take out three slices of pizza, they should give me something other than a box, which lets it dry out, to put it in. I asked for tin foil but just got a box. We'll keep this in our regular rotation of places in this area. read more

Extremely rude staff! Placed an order for a sub for pick up. When I got home and opened the sub, I could smell it was burnt before I saw it. I called the store and explained and was told basically this is how they make them and thanks for letting them know. I have ordered this same sub multiple times in the past and it has never been like this. I drove to the store and was told the same thing by another worker. Things happen but the rudeness by the staff is all i needed to never visit this store again. In this economy, I'll take my business elsewhere where feedback is appreciated and responded to accordingly. And mind you this is all over a $7 sub. This was the second Marco's location I've tried in my area and I will not be ordering pizza from any other Marco's location! I had an email coupon so I thought I would start my holiday weekend with a pizza. I ordered a thin crust with mushrooms, red onions, banana peppers and sliced tomato online for pickup. The website advised my pizza would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived the pizza was ready and when it was handed to me there was steam coming out of the box. Yes, it was piping hot. I almost broke into the box in the car because the smell was incredible! When I got home the pizza was still warm. The toppings were fresh and plentiful with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. I ordered a large so it lasted me for a few meals. I heated up leftovers on a baking stone which helps the crust stay crispy. And I absolutely will only be ordering the thin crust as it was delicious! Ordered 4 full priced pizza for super-bowl got home and all 4 pizzas had very light toppings, called location spoke with owner Phil and he said verbatim that they intentionally use less toppings if you use a coupon! I said I paid full price! He initially said would refund $ for one pizza after calling to say I wanted $ for 2 out of the 4 pizza, he got angry and rude and said he would not refund $ but do a credit instead! After taking a drive from St. Augustine to Neptune Beach, we decided to make an impromptu visit to my sister's house, since we were relatively close. Nugget fell asleep during the ride, so we decided to "surprise" him at Auntie T's house. When he woke up his baby cousin (he never uses her real name, I'm assuming even when he's 30 he'll call her baby cousin) sitting next to him. Anyway, after an hour of playing, it was super close to either head home and pack up or order something to eat. My sister suggested Marco's because it was literally down the road, and said most likely it wouldn't take too long. We went on their website, decided to order two large pizzas, one cheese and one pepperoni, and some cheese bread. We were able to choose our pickup time, so we chose ASAP, paid online, and was given a pickup of time of 15 minutes from the time we ordered. Can we say quick? Yes, yes we can. We drove, picked up our pizza and were on our way home in less than 20 minutes. That's especially great for those that have toddlers or hangry sister's who don't have patience. I opened the pizza up and it looked good. The pepperoni looked crispy, which is my favorite kind of pepperoni on a pizza, and the cheese bread looked good. I dug into the cheese bread. Soft, cheesy, and doughy. It was good. Then I dug into a piece of pepperoni pizza. It was cheesy, flavorful, and the pepperoni was crispy. The kiddos seemed to enjoy the pizza, because no one was talking during their meal or crying for that matter. So I read all the great reviews on YELP and even heard friends rave about Marco's. We were doing alot of Easter cooking and decided to try it Saturday night. This review is for the Hodges location,which is closest to my home. Outstanding pizzas! We got a large meatball and large pepperoni for 30.00. This was takeout. Service was fast and friendly. After over 30 minutes past expected delivery, we were going to call on the status. It was at the door with no notification. Online tracking was also off. Delivery charge too. I was pleasantly surprised with Marco's Pizza. We normally go to a nearby take home & cook pizza place for pizza. Contrary to some of the previous not-so-good reviews, the pizza was quite good and the ingredients were very fresh. We ordered the Deluxe as a take out - instead of delivery (I am a big believer that no matter where you order home delivery, you are compromising some aspect of the food and delivery is really when you absolutely do not want to or cannot leave the house.) There is also a sort of fast food dine in option and the place is very clean and orderly which usually means their kitchen is in good order as well. They have quite a varied menu in addition to pizza and I look forward to going back! read more

The pizza was so greasy it soaked through the liner and through the box itself. Their big and meaty wings ($9.50) were all smaller than my pinky finger. Way too pricey for the value. The pizza, which is the star of the show here, is OK. There are worse options nearby, but there are definitely better options as well. The online ordering is super easy, and they have some good specialty pizza choices to choose from, including some that have feta cheese, which I LOVE. We opted for the specialty pepperoni that has "old world" pepperoni, regular pepperoni, and some special cheese blend, I think. There was nothing special about the cheese that I could tell, but the old world pepperoni curls up at the edges, which then get crispy. I wish the whole pizza had those pepperoni, they were yummy! We ordered a salad. It comes with onions, we asked for no onions and they delivered. We also asked to add black olives and to give us ranch dressing. The salad had no black olives and 2 packs of fat free Italian dressing, so that was a bummer. One of their menu items is meatballs and sausage baked in sauce and cheese. Basically, this is like pizza without the crust or pasta without the noodles. It's a great option for those that are carb-conscious. We tried it and it was pretty tasty. I'l probably give them another try in the future, mainly because I love that old world pepperoni and the low-carb sausage and meatballs option is nice to have. This location (Hodges) doesn't seem to be as delicious as the other Marco's restaurants that I've tried (Oakleaf and 103rd). The pizzas are a bit on the dry side and too much dough with not enough toppings. The mushrooms are not fresh and taste like the kind from a jar. When I used to order pizzas from the other locations, they were amazing. I don't know what the problem is with this Marco's, if they are purposely skimping on toppings, or what. I don't think it's the pizza makers. It seems that the owners may advise them to skimp on toppings. I always tell myself that I won't order from here again, but then I end up giving them another try. There had been only one time that they made a delicious pizza. The sandwiches are too dry also. There isn't enough meat. I have to saturate the bun with mayo at home. I've gotten the pizza bowl thing before and that was also disappointing. They act weird when you call up to complain about the dry pizza. I get a really great pizza delivered from Five Star, and Biggies is delicious. I need to stop giving this Marcos a chance, but they are so close in my way home from work. I'm disappointed nearly every time. It's sad because the ones I used to order from frequently, on the Westside, are really good. I really want to rate them 2 stars, but I'm trying not to hurt their business. I'm not trying to be mean, either. I find this location to be a waste of my money since the pizza and sandwiches are subpar. They also need to have protocols in place when a customer calls and complains and not act weird about it. I have ordered three times from this location since they have opened. Once a call in, once a delivery, and once an online order. The app is easy to use and allows to save a credit card, which is nice. Expensive with delivery. The location however is very convenient, so it's quite easy to call in for pick up. To be honest, I was expecting dominos quality pizza. Dominos is good but not great. Marco's is definitely better quality ingredients. Not sure about the dough, but I do like it. I definitely prefer the thin crust, but the traditional is really good as well. Not too greasy, has a nice crunch on the outside with a soft and chewy inside. The pizza overall is really nice and the recipe is very successful. All the ingredients are balanced, and not one part is overpowering the other. There's a good variety of quality toppings. I'm not usually a fan of pepperoni, but their magnifico pizza is really good. It's not greasy like you might expect. Marco's is my new go to for pizza now. read more
