Finally tried this place a while back. It was really good! Crust was super thin with a nice blister on the bottom and the slices did not flop even when held straight out, not folded. Charred just right, too - not underdone at all and not burnt in the least. Goldilocks crust. Perfect amount of sauce that wasn't overly sweet or salty, the flavor of the quality tomatoes really shined through. Very tasty cheese and it wasn't piled on heavy-handedly, either. Alex, the owner/pizzaiolo came out and talked to us a good long while and he was the nicest guy ever. His kids were helping him run the joint that day and they were the best kids - like smart little adults! This place rocks and I think even in NYC it would be able to hold its own, admirably. What a hidden gem in 5 points! It's small and casual but delicious! The arancini was creamy and bursting with flavor! Order it and I promise you won't be disappointed. I had such a great first visit to Rodrigo's that I returned three days later. This time, I placed a phone order for a Blanca pizza with sausage and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. They were pretty busy when I got there, but my pizza was ready by the time I made it to the counter, which I appreciated. I did notice it wasn't very hot when I picked it up, so I already knew I'd have to reheat it at home. Thankfully, throwing it on my pizza stone brought it back to life. I ordered a special pizza that Alex had made for yelp customers. It was a pizza bolognese with Roma tomatoes, red onions and fresh basil. The crust was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious! I got the margarita with extra cheese. It was ready in 15 minutes. The portion size was large, since it's intended to be more of a personal pizza. I totally get why they won best pizza in jax 2026! The owner / front desk was so kind! When I came in unsure what to get he literally took the time to read the entire menu to me and explain it and help me choose what pizza was best for me and oh my GOSH. It was the best. Whatever magic they put into the dough makes THE BEST crust I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating! I usually leave the crust 100% of the time but none was left behind that day. They have a really nice outdoor patio space to sit and the interior where I sat due to the rain had nostalgic 80s music on! I was just dancing in my seat having the time of my life. The apps were insane. So fresh I felt like I was in literal Italy not downtown Jacksonville !! I literally wish I could give them 10 stars and a big hug and then sit there and study for hours. The view to the street was amazing and again the interior was cozy and so so cute! The employees checked on us and looked at us a lot but were so polite and didn't come to the table rudely or push more food we wouldn't eat. It was like the sort of experience you find to be the best and is so hard to find in the states after Covid. There are a TON of fresh ingredients on the menu. Eating here on the patio this past Saturday night was a treat. I was greeted by the owner or head chef's cute little daughters, who also rang up my order at the front counter. So adorable. This family owned and operated business was so clean, so organized, had a welcoming aesthetic both on the inside and outside. I chose to eat on their patio and people watch since we were experiencing what north Florida likes to call "fake fall" for the night. It was so nice out. We ran into fellow foodie/yelp elite friends the first 5 mins we were on the patio. Already off to a great start! Sasha and her hubs were eating nearby in five points. To order, we got a Caesar salad to share, the Burrata di Oro, a Margarita pizza with fresh jalepenos added, and Georgie's pizza(sausage, peppers, onion, jalepeno) with a glass of wine and a beer. To my surprise, this establishment also serves Hyppo pops!!! One of my favorite local businesses in northeast Florida! Unfortunately they were out of hyppo pops for the evening, but I'm excited to go back and grab some next time. The flavor of the dough was impressive. The burrata is wrapped in a warm dough, with prosciutto roasted inside, all resting on a bed of arugula. So tasty. Boyfriend and I went here 20 minutes before they closed. Horribly inconsiderate, I know!! We felt so bad because we were running late but MAN the staff was so nice about it. There was one other couple there, and we told the staff that it was our first time here and asked if it would be too much trouble since it was a Friday night and I'm sure they've been working hard all week. Alex, the owner, said no problem and then gave us the whole spiel about Rodrigo's and their neopolitan style pizza (about a 5 minute explanation of their entire menu). I asked for his if I should get the mystic mushroom or the Bella, and Alex recommended the mushroom because he loves the richness of the truffle oil. I compromised not getting the Bella by getting the burrata, which is basically the Bella but rolled! Boyfriend got the nutty mortadella since it was the most unique one on the menu. Everything came out so fast and WOW we were impressed with it all. It was my first time having burrata and it was the perfect amount of cheesy and rich and flavorful. The arugula, balsamic, and cherry tomatoes helped to cut the richness too and made it so yummy!! The mystic mushroom was SO GOOD. I love mushroom pizza, and Alex was right about the truffle oil taking it to the next level. Boyfriend really liked the nutty mortadella one and said the pistachio really worked on the pizza. We both were so impressed by how light and crunchy and soft the crust was. Alex asked us how everything was while he was cleaning up the restaurant, and we told him we loved everything so much! He and the team were so hospitable, and the restaurant itself is so clean, inviting, and has an intimate and cozy feel. I went up to Jacksonville last weekend to pay a visit to some old friends. Looking to celebrate our reunion; we decided to group up for lunch at the recently new Rodrigo's Craft Pizza spot in Riverside. Going in, there was a decent number of people sitting inside, but we were seated rather quickly. For lunch, we shared the following; 1x burrata di oro, 1x Blanca pie, and 1x Bella pie. Moving on with my review; the food was excellent. The appetizer burrata di oro came in an awesome baked bread shell with creamy burrata and prosciutto inside, drizzled with fresh balsamic glaze! The Blanca for a white pizza was very moist; packed nice punch of herb from basil, and chewy delicious crust! The Bella was loaded, yet it didn't feel overwhelming and packed with fresh flavor! Nice contrast of savory, sweetness, and acidity. Just note; this isn't your typical American pizzeria, but rather more like a traditional neopolitan type of joint. But nevertheless, the food was superb, and we'd definitely be returning here. My final verdict is a 5/5. Nicely done! read more

I am so happy I ventured out to 5 points on my lunch break and checked this place out. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I believe I spoke to the owner who explained all the different options to chose from. I prefer a basic cheese when I try a new place. If there cheese slice/pie is decent then everything else should be too. We'll this pie was the bomb. Light and crispy crust, great undercarriage, the sauce had the perfect balance between zesty and sweet and the cheese was very fresh. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will definitely go back. Visited last month, we ordered 2 pizzas, the Nutty Mortadella and the Spicy Harvest. We also shared the Burrata di Oro appetizer. The pizzas are each big enough to feed 2 people and have generous toppings. We really enjoyed both pizzas and the spicy harvest came with a delicious side of aoili They are on the thinner side so it's best to eat them quickly as this style of pizza tends to get a bit cold/soggy if it sits. The appetizer was also very yummy and a unique take on a burrata dish. I really enjoyed the warm pizza dough and the goat cheese. We saw some feedback (and photos) of this pizza online and just had to try it. Wow - Rodrigo's did not disappoint!! We ordered a Caesar salad and a caprese. I really wasn't sure about the caprese when I ordered it. I'm not a huge fan of cherry tomatoes, but it was outstanding! The Caesar was really solid as well, but that caprese was a super star. We also ordered a Blanca pizza and a Georgie. The Blanca was also a show stopper and I think the caprese salad and Blanca have these 2 things in common that make them absolutely shine: the pistachio pesto is absolutely the best pesto I've ever had - ever. And the fresh mozzarella is absolutely divine. Sometimes fresh mozzarella is a bit rubbery and a bit bland. Maybe not enough salt? I don't know, but Rodrigo's fresh mozzarella is perfect. I will order the Blanca anytime I visit in the future. It's a perfect pizza. The Georgie was so fresh and delicious as well. We loved the fresh veggies on it. One caution: those jalapeños are the real deal. Remember: these pizzas are cooking in 5 mins. So it's not enough time to breakdown and dull out a spicy pepper. It bites, so beware!! We chatted with Rodrigo after we ate (you can watch all the magic happening in this place on your way to a cool little pocket bar in the back!), and he was amazing and gracious.
