When I saw the high ratings, I decided to give it a try. In my opinion, Vero has the best Chicago deep-dish pizza. My personal favorite pizza is the Sears Tower since it has a little bit of everything. The Sears Tower is basically their version of a supreme pizza. Not only do the toppings taste fresh, but the cheese and pizza sauce are also loaded with flavor. The servers there are friendly and helpful, and the first time I went, our server was very happy when I told them that Vero was not my favorite place for Chicago deep-dish pizza. They are also more than happy to offer suggestions for some of their most popular pizza selections if you are unsure which one to get. I also liked the atmosphere of the place, as it is nice and low-key, making it a great place to relax during their quieter hours. The way that the pizza is presented and cut into those grids gives it a stylish dimension & easier to share amongst others. A genius creation to make it effortless to handle. Atmosphere was fun. Even had time for a karaoke tune! Our server was polite and always on top of things to make sure we were being well taken care of throughout our experience. Superb customer service! This location is a family operated business. You can feel the presence of that right when you walk thru the doors. Had a decent rigidity to it, but like the wings it could have cooked a little longer. A little char on that crust brings a nice Smokey flavor and crispy bite to it. The cheese and topping were ok. Nothing really wowed there. The sauce can make or break a pizza. It's literally what brings a flavor balance to the whole thing. On the plus side they have a savory sauce.
